Convert an Internal Drive to External Drive = How to fornat the Lenovo Style

I want to format my internal drive that is now an external HD = How do we do that ? Knowing that it was an internal HD = with The Hard drive / The Recovery HD / And system Drv :/

Paragon even has non-destriuctive conversion utility if you do want to change drive.
Hard to imagine using 3TB that isn't NTFS. Mac uses GPT for default partition type as well as HFS+

Can anyone help me, How to change the component styles where components (af:inputtext) inside af:panelFormLayout.
i changed all of the components one by one style, inlinestyle .. from the inspector. By result is nothing.
how to extend blafplus-rich and override some of the components style?

Installed new internal drive - how can I lock it

Hi
I installed a second internal drive. We have 3 users in out family and each have there own desktops. The second internal drive is for my video files and I want to keep it from being trashed or ejected by my other family members since it's on their desktop. Any way to do this?

Permission settings determine who can view and alter an item. To control access to items, Mac OS X automatically sets permissions for disks, folders, and files. To change these permissions, select your drive with the Finder and then choose File > Get Info. In the Get Info window, if the Sharing & Permissions pane is not visible, click the disclosure triangle to show it. This pane should show that "You can read and write" plus a list of users and privilege. The default privileges for a Volume with a GUID Partition and formated to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) should be: "system" has "Read & Write", "admin" has "Read & Write" & "everyone" has "Read only". To keep it away from other users, click the lock icon, type in your administrator's name and password then click OK. Now click on the "Read only" privileges next to everyone and change it to "No Access" from the popup box.
Test this out before saving or moving any important stuff to this drive and let me know if this worked.

Replacing The Hard Drive, How To Install The OS Again?

Hi all again! Sorry for posting so many questions.
I have a macbook pro late 2011 model. I want to replace the hard drive with an SSD drive but I am not too familiar with Mac products. My question is... do I just take out the old hard drive and put the new one in? Is there a CD with the Max OS on it that I could then use to install the OS onto the new drive?

There are a large number of DIY's, HowTo's and the like on the subject, may want to search a bit.
If you re comfortable to the layout and content of the current internal drive, the quick & dirty would be:
Get an external enclosure for the new drive.
Connect/power up, then use Disk Utility to prep the drive for Mac use: GUID partition scheme & Apple Extended (Journaled).
Use Disk Utility or CarbonCopyCloner to clone the internal volume onto the external.
Test to ensure all is well.
Swap drives when ok.

Dead powerbook with operational hard drive: how to extract the data?

I've got a very old (2006/7) powerbook which cannot be powered on; the battery is dead and can't be charged due to assorted catastrophic power issues. I've long since replaced it so I'm not really interested in resurrecting it on a long-term basis. Is there a way to get the data off it? I'm aware I'd have to physically remove the drive.
So far the only instructions I've found online are for getting data off a crashed hard drive, but that's not the problem here. The hard drive is totally operational, it's just that the computer it's located in cannot be turned on.

I bought one of these HD adapters http://tinyurl.com/7455nek to get the files off of an old PB G3 hard drive. Worked great and a reasonable price.

I have a document in word that needs to be converted into indesign. The document containts instructions, each step followed by an image.
I've managed to import the document into Indesign, and applied a paragraph style with numbering to everything (text an image).
Now, how to change the the paragraph style of every paragraph that only contains a image? I need to get rid of the numbering.

Create two Paragraph Styles and name them Image and Non-Image. Apply the paragraph styles manually to the text containing image and not containing images.

You can create additional fonts and style with transaction SMARTSTYLES
This can then be define in the paragraph and character formats, which you can then be assign to texts and fields in the Smart Form.
The character formats includes effects such as superscript, subscript, barcode and font attributes.

I seem to have successfully downloaded and installed the trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS5. My hard drive shows several separate folders: Adobe, Adobe Photoshop CS5.1, Adobe Bridge CS5.1, Adobe Device Central CS5.5, and Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5. How do I open the program and use it?

Which operating system are you using? Typically you will want to double click on the application itself to launch the program. They will typically end in .exe for Windows applications or .app for Mac apps.

ITunes installed on a new drive with music on an old drive: how to keep the music data?

I had iTunes installed on my old HDD with all my music on it. It was the drive C:\
I just installed a new SSD (now the C:\ drive) in my computer. I also installed iTunes on it. I want to leave my music on my old HDD (now the G:\ drive). I can scan with iTunes for my music on my old G:\ drive, but that means I won't have the star ratings nor the play count...
I tried to copy and paste the iTunes Library.xml from my old G:\ to my new C:\. When I opened iTunes, it had all my music and the data, but I had to locate manually every single song (in a 7000+ songs library, this is a bit of a problem).
Is there a way to edit the iTunes_library.xml file to change the path of every song in it (from C:\ to G:\) since this seems to be the issue? Or how could I keep my music on my G:\ drive and itunes on my C:\ drive while keeping my music data?

Thank you for providing so much information about what is going on. It sounds like you have your iTunes Library on your G:\ drive, but it sounds like iTunes is not opening iTunes Library.itl file on the external drive. Follow these steps to point iTunes to your G:\ drive:
Steps to create or choose a different iTunes Library file
If iTunes is running, quit iTunes.
If you are using Windows, hold down the Shift key and from the Start menu and choose All Programs > iTunes > iTunes.
You should see the following screen:
Additional information
If you do not see the screen above, then you did not hold the correct key at the correct time. You may want to try again. Note that if you pinned iTunes to the Start menu programs, and open it that way, it may not work.
Once you select "Choose Library," you will need to navigate to the iTunes Library.itl file on your new external drive.

Copied and pasted my itunes folder to a new internal drive- can I consolidate the library?

I ran out of space for my images so I copied and pasted the whole itunes folder over to a new internal hard drive. I then deleted the itunes folder on the original drive. I went to preferences in itunes and changed the location of the music folder.
Unfortunately, the music library is not connecting to that new location, it is only filling with things from icloud.
I looked up some instructions and now find out that the way to do it is to create a new folder and instead of manually copy and pasting, consolidating the files via itunes.
What can I do now that I have done it manually?

This is the process I usually recommend.
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
If you've done the backup properly, delete any existing empty iTunes library that has already been made then copy in the entire iTunes folder from the external drive into your profile's music folder. Start iTunes. It should "just work" with no need to import anything.

2 DVD Drives: How to use the second one?

Yes, you should be able to drag them, although items added thru login items loaded on startup may place themselves to the left.
There was a problem before 10.5.2 with dragging an item to the FAR right sometimes.
If you want one book, "Mac OS X: The Missing Manual" series probably covers the most bases in a quick read. Not sure if the Leopard edition is out.

CD and paper stuck in drive - How to disable the drive?

So I didn't pay attention and put a CD into my Intel iMac's CD drive that had a piece of paper stuck to the back of the CD. And now, of course, it won't come out again.
I've been through all the advice on here, YouTube, ... you name it and came to the conclusion that a trip to an Apple retailer (no Apple Store here yet) is the only solution.
However, until then, I'd like to disable the CD/DVD drive to keep it from trying so that I can at least use my iMac. Any ideas how to do that?
I found instructions to remove the IOCDStorageFamily.kext and IODVDStorageFamily.kext kernel extensions, clear the kext cache and reboot. But it's still trying to read or eject the CD, over and over again ...
Any other ideas?
This is a first-generation Aluminum iMac (Mid 2007), running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3.

Hadn't seen that video and it looks like it could work. But the CD drive in an aluminum iMac is different and I couldn't get 2 credit cards in. I've tried with one and the sticky tape but that didn't work.
The drive has now finally gone silent. Not sure, though, if it finally caught on about the disabled kext drivers or if I've managed to leave some of the sticky tape in the drive itself and it really needs repair now
So, problem not exactly "solved" - but thanks for the help!

But the username is getting displayed in bold by default.
Could you suggest me how to convert it to normal font so that the username is not displayed in bold.

Hi,
You haven't mentioned which UI elememt you are using to display the user name. For textView you can use the design property and set the value as standard.
