Hi,
I need to convert a DWG file in my C# application to PDF. I can't afford more than 100 $ on a third party library. Anyone has any idéa? I have google:d for weeks without any luck..

With Acrobat X Standard, you cannot convert .dwg to .pdf without installing AutoCAD but with Acrobat X or XI Professional, you can.

How to convert DWG to PDF 8.5x11 page size? using VueBean.convert()

I am able to convert dwg files to pdf files. The dwg can be very large in size (example: 32" x 42"), but I need the pdf output to fit an 8.5" x 11" page size. I am using the VueBean object and the VueServlet to perform the conversion. I am using the VectorConvertOptions to set the conversion options but no matter which options I try I can't get the output to fit 8.5" x 11" page size. I have tried varying the scale factor but that doesn't seem to affect the ouput at all. Can anyone tell me which options will get the pdf output to fit 8.5" x 11" page size? Maybe its a matter of scaling but I can't seem to figure it out. Please help.

This is not possible using the convert option. This is a product limitation. Another possibility would be to use the print options instead of the convert option.

Using Distiller for .dwg to PDF conversion

Hi all,
I am bit confused about using distiller for converting .dwg to PDF conversion. I need a server application which takes a .dwg file as an input and depending on the file attributes, converts it into a suitable PDF file (A4, A3, etc. depending on the .dwg file). Is using distiller a good idea or I should be looking into other tools?? Can Livecycle PDF generator handle such a thing??Kindly help me in this regard..

Distiller converts PostScript to PDF, nothing else. Distiller Server
is technically identical.
So to do this with Distiller you would
(a) need Distiller Server and
(b) need to make your own process to convert DWG to PostScript,
perhaps by automating AutoCAD.
LiveCycle PDF Generator, however, includes a package of conversion
tools for a list of specific file types. I don't know if DWG files are
in the list - there is a LiveCycle PDF Generator forum, so I recommend
trying there.

Converting C3D 2009 dwgs to PDF

Greetings All,
A question in regards to using Adobe 8 Pro to convert AutoDesk C3D dwgs to pdfs, doesn't like it! We have currently migrated to AutoDesk Civil 3D 2009 and the create file command/icons do not show up and do not seem available for this cad version. Does anyone know whether there is a compatibility issue between Adobe 8 Pro and C3D. One of our users create pdfs and needs to include the layers as well, Adobe 8 seems to still work well with pre-2009 dwgs. We have gone through the normal repair, updates, etc. even tried to bring the cui menu from Adobe into C3D (we get icons but the commmand is inactive). Are these issues potentially resolved in Adobe 9?

this the answer from Oracle concerning the issue:
-- the IBR must be on a win machine to have WinNativeConverter installed and enabled AND the native application installed on the IBR machine. In this case, MS Project >and MS Publisher.
- IBR does not support the conversion of mpp or pub files on linux.
Hence enhancement request has been created for the same.
UCM needs to clean up the File Format Wizard to make it clearer as to which conversions are supported on various OS configurations.
You can check the bug for reference where the status is 11 - Code Bug (Response/Resolution) which means "Bug is being worked by Development".
Hence IBR on linux do not support the file formats - .mpp and .pub conversions.Take care!

Converting AutoCAD to PDF (in monochrome)

Objective: to convert multiple AutoCAD files (via Windows Explorer) to PDF - converting from color to monochrome.
Now......I can successfully print to pdf from within AutoCAD and get monochrome outcome by selecting appropriate plotter configuration.
My problem is stemming from attempting for this same outcome by selecting multiple files within Windows Explorer, right clicking, and selecting "Convert to..." options.
1. I always get the color version
2. PDF plots tend to have additional white space/margins (not printing to page size).
- I've played with default settings in the print driver itself.
- I've been in Distiller and attempted some customized settings there.
I just can't seem to find where/how to get a positive outcome on this one.
Since my job entails me to do this routine quite often I would greatly appreciate any assistance I can get from you "pro's" out there.
Cuz' this "one at a time" routine in AutoCAD is wayyyy too time consuming.

I should also include the facts that I am using: AutoCAD 2011, and Adobe Acrobate 9 Pro.

I am also having trouble with converting AutoCAD DWG to Adobe PDF. I have tried several different methods. I've tried outputing the color PDF to a post script file, however that is still in color. I've tried using custom Color Plot Styles (monochrome.ctb) and Named Plot Styles (monochrome.stb), but since I did not create the original AutoCAD DWG (it is 10 years old from 2004), they are not the correct plot style files. I do not have AutoCAD and use ProE/Creo instead. I've tried importing into my CAD tool, however all the fonts are different. I've also tried exporting the PDF to a raster format like TIFF but the resolution is really bad for engineering drawings. If I increase the resolution, then it sometimes will say that the image is too big and in cannot save/export the image.
It seems like this should be really simple to do in Adobe. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 10. I can go to Tools > Print Production > Preflight > PDF Fixups > Convert to grayscale, which will convert to grayscale, but not to monochrome. Similarly I can go to Tools > Print Production > Convert Colors and select Conversion Profile to Gray Gamma 2.2, however that still will produce grayscale, but not monochrome.

Thanks for your reply. Really it is very useful one.
In this, the output list is getting populated into spool and to pdf.
But my requirement sending the internal table contents to spool directly without dispalying in the output list.
I did the program like the above mentioned one already. But my requirement is not that one.

Converting report to PDF and mailing

Hi every one,
I've gone through various threads and i'm aware of the Functional module's used to
convert the report to pdf and mail it back.Like CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF, CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF and for mailing we have SEND_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1.
I've worked with this but my problem is i'm not able to convet the report output to pdf.When i'm doing this i'm getting the output of my functional module converted to pdf like the number of header and item records available for the given data in the selection screen.
Since all the threads i've gone through is converting the single internal table which has the output to pdf.
But i've got the REUSE_ALV_HIERSQL_LIST_DISPLAY, hierarchial report which as known has got two internal tables.How to the same to this kind of report....More over is it possible to convert report to pdf in online without transfering it to spool and getting the spool id to convert it to pdf.........
Any help or suggestions will surely be rewarded......

this generates spool in SP01. Ideally it should generate a PDF spool file but it generates a BIN file of Format G_RAW. When I display the spool it displays all kinds of japanese characters which does not make sense,.
I setup printer ISJB with device type JPPDF (PDF converted for Japanese characters). Does any one know where the problem could be? Why I could not print the Spool in PDF?

How do I convert an Adobe pdf file with sound assist for the visually impaired to use the keyboard to play audio?

I am trying to convert an Adobe pdf article file with a play button to an iTunes or other accessible file for people with visual impairments. The file has been converted to a format that has a play button; however, the computer does not have a keyboard stroke that leads to the play button. In other words, the play button isn't integrated into the accessible format; only sighted people can access the play button. The individual is using an Apple laptop.

How to add page numbers to a PDF in Adobe but maintain the ability to convert to a PDF/A

I have an PDF in adobe that I am able to convert into an adobe PDF/A document. However, when I use the header/footer option to add page numbers to the document it is no longer able to convert to a PDF/A document. How can I add page numbers and still be able to convert the document to a PDF/A?

Acrobat 11 Pro - problem with right-click "Convert to Adobe PDF" output folder

I'm migrating from one machine running Windows XP Pro with Acrobat 8 Pro to Windows 7 Pro with Acrobat 11 Pro.
On the XP machine, when I right-click on a document and select "convert to Adobe PDF" the process works just fine - it always outputs the file to the target destination I have set in the Adobe PDF printer definition.
On the Windows 7 Pro/Acrobat 11 Pro machine, the exact same settings are ignored: the PDF will always end up in the same folder as the source file.
Both the source folder and the destination folder are on one of my office's networked drives.
Under the Printing Preferences, I have the output folder address set the same on both machines, so it *should* go to the right location on the new machine.
Oddly enough, on the Acrobat 11 Pro machine, if I select Adobe PDF as the default printer and do a test print, it *does* print to the correct folder!
This has got me stumped!

If Adobe PDF is selected as the default printer, I *can* select a bunch of documents, right-click, select "print", and Word will open up, and they'll print to the correct target folder.
So, it's "just" the right-click "Convert to Adobe PDF" that doesn't work correctly.

The reinstall is typically the last ditch effort to do. The first step is Help>Repair and Help>Updates. As far as Office 2013, the PDF Maker of AA X is not compatible and you can only print. In your list of errors it showed a problem with AcroTray.exe. As a first step, go to the print and select print-to-file. The file will be a PS file (maybe with a PRN extension). Once the printer if finished, open the file in Distiller to complete the process. If that is successful, then the problem is with AcroTray. Check your running tasks to be sure AcroTray is indeed running. If not, that is likely the problem. If it is, then restart it (it is located in the Acrobat folder). AcroTray provides the interface between the PS creation and Distiller to automate the process of creating the PDF.
