Convert from Entourage - Arrows don't show for replies or forwards

I'm using Entourage 2004, and OS X 10.4.6
I recently converted from Entourage to Mail, but none of my messages which I had replied to or forwarded show as such. The column is turned on, and any new messages that I reply to do show the arrow in that column. Just none of my imported messages show the arrows.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Converting from Entourage to Mail for Mac on OS 10.5.6

Can anyone give me tips on how to convert from Entourage 2008 for Mac to Mail for Mac. I am on version 10.5.6 OS. Also, I have some files on Outlook (windows PC) that I want to move over to the mail including old emails, addresses, etc.
Any tips with specific instructions and other hints as to what to consider that won't transfer would be appreciated

Scenario 1
(assumes Mobile Me membership)
Set up Apple Mail in your Mac Pro, iMac, ... and set preferences in Mobile Me to include email stuff
Login to MacBook Pro, Air, ... other iMac, other Mac Pro > enter mobile me stuff there and Bongo! Apple Mail on the second machine synchronizes with stuff set in Apple Mail on first machine.
Turn on the iPhone > Bongo! iPhone Mail will show the same email accounts as on the other two machines described above.
One does not need to re-enter stuff for the sake of it. Mobile Me makes it easy.
On the second machine create a new email account or add an existing one to Apple Mail > Bongo! Details updated on the first machine and also on iPhone.
Scenario 2
(assumes preferences set in Mobile Me for calendars and contacts)
Create new contacts in each of the three machines (that is the first machine, the second machine and the iPhone) > Bongo! Details will be synched across all three machines (okay, iPhone calls them contacts and the other machines call it Address Book but ... )
Create appointments in Calendar or iCal in ... well, they are synched as well.
Scenario 3
On a PC, away from each of the three machines detailed above. Need contacts and calendars (yes, iCal and iPhone calendar support multiple calendars with an overview summary of all, yep, ALL calendars.
Fire up Safari on the PC (Safari 4 seems sweet) > go to www.me.com > enter username and password of Mobile Me account > Bongo!
I suppose it may also be a time thing in sense that many people, self included, might recall a time when every calendar needed every detail keying in (other computer operating systems running different applications). Sure there were import/export utilities or thunks bet these tended to be at variance with each other regarding ordering of data fields, field parameters and in my own experience a bad import though swift was less reliable than re-keying in the details.

Any help converting from Entourage to iCal?

With all the problems syncing between Entourage calendar and my wife's iPhone (and now Apple dropping sync to Entourage in the new "forced" upgrade on MobileMe), I want to help my wife convert from Entourage to iCal. Anyplace to go for that help?

You can use Thundebird to replace Entourage and get the Lighting.Add-on to Thunderbird to replace the calendar of Entourage which USED TO synch over ical to Mobile Me as follows:
1. How to set up the iCal for Lightning and MobileMe
open Thunderbird
Install the Lightning add-on
Select “Preferences” “Advanced” “General”“Config Editor…”

scroll down until you find “general.useragent.extra.lightning” andset the value to (nothing). you can also set the value to “ical” or whatever,just change it.
Close the config editor, close Thunderbird
Get the link to your iCal on MobileMe asfollows:
open ical (YES, iCAL)
right click the calendar under [email protected] youwant to access
select“get info”
copythe url after “CalDAV url:” it should read“/calendars/users/1.xxxxxxxxx/xxx-x-x-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx”

File/ New / Calendar

Whenyou check what is written in the location field, it will end with a “/” which is correct.
This works fine for me.
If you want to back-up your calendar on Thunderbird/Lightning outside the cloud, goto iCal and export the file to a local location as backup.

Imported bookmark folders from old putor don't show as download options

Went from xp to windows7 new putor,exported bookmarks from FF7 to FF7 on 64bit machine, now when I bookmark a site the folders don't show giving me the option of placing future bookmarks in them.

Do you have rolls activated in the View menu? Can you see the photos in the Last Rolls section of the Source pane?
Those blank windows are indication that iPhoto has lost it's link to the files. In your case both the thumbnails and originals. If the originals can't be located then the rebuild cannot create a new thumbnail. So it looks like you'll have to start with a fresh library and import the original file from your current library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the rolls from the original.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same rolls as the original library. However dates on the rolls may be different but can be edited as you would the roll title.
Once this is completed you can delete the Originals folder from the desktop and the iPhoto Llibrary folder. If desired, you can keep the older library folder to try other fixes on it.
There's one way to get rid of the auto-rotated modified files. Copy the Modified version of it to the Desktop. Then open the Originals folder and locate the same files in that folder's subfolders and replace with the rotated modified version. Now go back to iPhoto and do a revert to original for those files. iPHoto will delete the modified version leaving you with the "modified original" version.

Converting from 2D to 3D not working for me

I am trying to follow the tutorial "Converting from 2D to 3D" and it is 'not working for me.' When I open the image 'archer...' I do not get layers, but only the background image, and consequently no 3DAxis widget appears.
This is my first try at this, and I am stuck trying to figure out what is wrong.
I am running Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended, version 11.01 on Vista, with 4GB of RAM, 500GB HD
Processor speed 2200MHz
NVIDIA GeForce 7100
Memory available to PS 3255MB
Memory used by PS 70 percent
If anybody could please point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!

it can work with the Background layer just fine, go to 3d->New Shape from Layer->Cone (or whatever) and then select one of the 3D tools and it should appear. Note though that OpenGL drawing must be enabled in Edit->Preferences->Performance to be able to see it.

Converting from Entourage

1.) Anyone aware of an easy way to to import my calendar info from Entourage 2004 to iCal?
2.) Once my data is in iCal, how do I synch my data in my iCal between work and home?

1) You have the option to use sync services, found under Preferences in Entourage. This syncs with the local iCal application and .Mac.
2) You can sync using .Mac
Or, you use Google Calendar your main calendar application and subscribe via iCal to the event in Google calendar. In the standard setup, you can synchronize only one way, meaning that you need to log into Google calendar to do changes. For a bidrectional synchronization you could use [Spanning Sync|http://www.spanningsync.com> to keep synchronized between your calendars.

Edited pics from adobe cs2 don't show up as fixed on atv

When I fix my pics in photoshop, such as red eye or rotate the pic so that it is straight still show up as the unedited on my ATV. I am saving them and placing them in files like I have always done. When I put them in a slide show and show them on a projector they turn out right. When I print them they or right. It is just when I would like to preview them on my ATV that they revert back. Can anyone help me with this problem.

Are you saying that you do the edits in Adobe CS from within iPhoto so that the modified files are accessed properly by iTunes/TV or are you saying that you are modifying the files in Adobe CS externally and leaving the original files in iPhoto for sync and/or streaming?
When I put them in a slide show and show them on a projector they turn out right.
A slideshow full animation video would re-compress the stills to an MPEG-4/AAC file.
When I print them they or right.
Printing allows use of any image compression format/file type compatible with your computer. TV is limited to JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, and PNG files.

Converting from Entourage to Mail

I've been using Entourage for the past 6 months but it just slows my machine down and want to convert to Mail. How can I export my Entourage emails to Mail? I found an app to export Mail to Entourage (Mr Mail to Entourage) but not the other way around.

I don’t know how it works, nor have I tried it myself, but Microsoft Entourage is one of the options available in Mail’s File > Import Mailboxes...

Song lists to purchase, produced from a search, don't show genre

I just downloaded the latest itunes software and now find when I do a search for songs to purchase with a particular name or artist to purchase, the list of songs does not show the music genre for each song as it did in the last version of itunes. Am I missing some adjustment that can be made to the format of the lists so they show genre? This is a real problem when I just searched for the "Old Timey" songs with the name Cindy - since I get nearly a 1000 songs and the list doesn't tell me whether they are new age, rock or country etc.

Difficult to say what the issue is here in terms of whether it's an itunes problem rearing its head or a problem with itunes accessing files on the drive where you need to store things.

HELP! Converting from Publisher - bullets don't convert???

I am trying to convert a Publisher 2003 file by going to File, Print, to Adobe PDF.
Every time it converts, it loses all the bullets and turns them into strings of dots ... I am trying to convert at the highest quality, as it is going to a commercial printer as a PDF.
How do I get this to stop happening? I cannot remove the bullets from the Publisher file, as its a newsletter and that is their format.

I was almost hoping it would not show up as embedded.
My font is there, and says its embedded. Back to square one. Any thoughts?
I did try changing the font to see what happens, and the bullets show up as dots no matter what font I select.

All episodes don't show up in Grid view

I've got 20 seasons of Top Gear all converted and waiting to be added to iTunes. They exist on my external HD, so when I drag them in to iTunes I hold in Alt/Option, so they stay there.
If I drag in the folders for seasons 1 through 13, all episodes show up, and if I select the show in iTunes I see "tabs/buttons" for Season 1, Season 2, etc etc. Pic here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2213114/2013-08-23_18-05-00.jpg
However if I drag season 1 through 14 (or more), only season 1 shows up in iTunes grid view. However all episodes/season show up in List view, and all are available on my Apple TV.
If I drag just, say, season 14 through 20, they add fine. But if I then add 1 through 13, again only 1 season shows in Grid view.
In all cases the correct number of "New" episodes shows on the blue banner on the cover (i.e "99+").
Top Gear generally has about 6 to 10 episodes per season.
I have exactly the same problem with The Simpsons.
All my other shows added fine. Just The Simpsons and Top Gear had issues. I doubt it's a co-incidence those are the only 2 shows I have with hundreds of episodes and 20+ seasons each. It's almost as if iTunes has some kind of limit…

Importing from Entourage to Mail

When I try to import my contacts from Entourage using the Apple Script for Address Book, I get an error message NSContainerSpecific Error, and one time I got a general Entourage had an error or some such vague thing. I am really not too sure of what I am doing since I have never used an Apple Script, but that is what is recommended in David Pogue's Tiger book. But it doesn't seem too hard.
I don't know exactly what to do to run it from an exported file--if that would solve the problem.
Basically I need either an interpretation of the error and whether or not I can do anything to avoid it. Or else a step by step set of instructions about how to accomplish the same task a different way.
What if anything imports Tasks and Reminders?

I haven't got a direct answer for you but I had similar experiences which may help you. I found the Mail import to be pretty ineffective and unable to cope with large mailboxes.
I started with Entourage and actually moved to Thunderbird when earlier versions of Mail were not really very good. TBird imported Entourage emails fine - about three years of emails.
With SL and Mail 4, I was looking for a way to import all my TBird emails - now 7 years with as the import into Mail was still flawed and also it had a bad habit of recovering EVERY email ever received, including all the spam. So I found "Eudora mailbox importer" which perfectly moved all my TBird mail straight into Mail with no fuss.
So if you get stuck, its Entourage to TBird to Mail !

Video clips don't show up - just a box with a red X

Still images show up fine but video clips brough in either directly or using Send To Color from within FCP don't show up:
1. When I use import it won't bring the clip in at all
2. When I use FCP to send to color it just shows a red square box with a red X through it.

BTW, the clip is a 720x486 D1 Motion JPEG A clip - 5 seconds long @29.97fps. Also, still images don't open - guess they are not supported? Could the Motion JPEG A also be an unsupported format?

Importing process not achieved (from entourage to Mail)

I have a big database of 6 gb in entourage with a lot of folders ans subfolders.
When i tried to import it in Mail in snowleopard, everything looks ok but Mail didn't import me more than 5% of my database. It creates me all the folders and subfolders but the majority are empty (except 5%).
I tried several times and imposible to import all my emails from entourage.
Don't understand what's happening. Any idea?
I know I could drag my folders from entourage on the desktop and try to import the mbox but i have too many subfolders to do that...

There is a script that will export all folders including subfolders as MBOX files. This link is a direct download. Check your downloads folder for the file. Place the script in the Script Menu Items folder in the Microsoft User Data folder in Documents. Select the script from the Menu bar to run.
Export folders as MBOX files
If the script fails to complete, it means you have corrupted messages in the last folder that was exported.
