Convert from free trail version to CC download version of Lightroom

I tried the trail version of lightroom and liked it. I signed up for the special Photoshop CC and Lightroom cloud version for 9.99 a month. When I use the download for Lightroom it says it is up to date because I have the download from the trail on the machine. If I click the link to convert from trial to purchased version it drives me to enter a license number which I do not have for the Cloud based monthly subscription. How to I get converted from the trail (which has 23 days remaining ) to the version I am paying for? Thanks for the help

According to Adobe if you already have a trial or purchased version of Lightroom installed, you don't have to uninstall it. Choose the option to install the Lightroom through either the Creative Cloud app or through the Creative Cloud Download Center. It upgrades your trial or purchased installation to the fully licensed version that is part of your membership. You can’t even use the serial number from previous version of Lightroom when you install the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom. Creative Cloud products license with your Adobe ID. Even though a Lightroom Creative Cloud installation includes a serial number, it's only used for registration, not installation.
After you have purchased a Creative Cloud Individual membership, Lightroom is available for installation within the Creative Cloud desktop app. If you have already installed the trial version of Lightroom, you can license it by running the Lightroom installer from the Creative Cloud desktop app.

I'd be only too happy to upgrade, but my end users are dependent on Java Initiator to load specific software interface to access Oracle database. that functionality is disabled in FF 3.6 and later...
We aren't the hosts of the database, and our(my) pleas to the admins who host the third party front end to upgrade the JRE on the server are met with, "we're not going to reverse engineer their system..."

Converting from Photoshop v.1 to a current version and retaining captions and tags

I have Photoshop Version 1 running under Microsoft XP. The computer died. I need to move my pictures and equally importantly the tags and captions that have have been attached to the pictures. I have downloaded Photoshop Elements 9 and I have been told that they will not support Version 1. I can move the pictures without any difficulty, but not the captions nor the tags. I also downloaded Photoshop 3.0 starter edition and the captions will come over, but not the tags. I have all the pictures, the catalog file and the thumb file backed up before the computer crashed. I do have access to another XP machine that I can load the older Photoshop Version 1 and restore my pictures, then can I can backup these files and imbed the captions and tags in the individual pictures? Your help and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Uh, are you sure you have Photoshop v.1?
The first version of Photoshop that ran on Windows was Photoshop 2.5.

How can I duplicate a text style in a project converted from a trailer?

I am working off of the Supernatural trailer in iMovie '11. I am trying to reuse the format of the text interspersed throughout, but I can't find the text style to apply or copy and paste the text bubble in the editing window both before and after converting it to a project. The text I'm talking about has a light tracking across it as it fades in over a black background with dark cloud behind it. I know the original text can be moved to different parts of the project, but is there any way to use this style in more places than it was used in the original trailer?

command click on the textbox and then move the cursor to near the corner when it changes to a curved arrow, then drag that around to rotate the object.
If it won't rotate it is possible that it is Inline and not Floating:
Inspector > Metrics > Rotate

Install Windows 7 from a downloaded version.

Hello-
I'm trying to install Windows 7 with the boot camp assistant. I bought my version of Windows from the Microsoft website as a downloaded version with the full disk coming by ups at the end of the week. When I run the assistant, it is looking for the disk only, not the ISO version or the files that I've downloaded. Does anyone know how I can use the downloaded version to get windows 7 running on my new iMac?

If your download gave you an ISO, just burn that to a disc, otherwise wait until your disc arrives.

Artifacts in DNG files converted from NEF

On two occasions, I've encountered artifacts in my photos that I've converted from NEF (using Nikon D7000) to DNG format in Lightroom 3.6. Is there a "fix" for this?

Yes, you're correct. It sounds perfectly feasible to keep a checksum in the database for other file types. I voted for your idea.

Currently, the only way to check a large number of DNGs is to run the free DNG converter on them, which can take a long time and requires disk space for the second copies. The Adobe SDK has a function for checking the checksums, so it sounds like a relatively easy task to write a small app that would validate an entire directory tree containing DNGs. That could be quite fast and would be a good thing to run periodically.

Boxed version contents vs download ?

OK, I have googled around, searched the forums as well as looking all over the Adobe site with no luck finding the answer - is there a difference between the boxed version and the download version ? (does the boxed version include a printed manual or anything ? (my CS2 did include a manual)). Currently have CS2 and am looking at upgrading to CS5 Extended (according to the Adobe web, $349). Is there anything in the box besides a DVD and serial number ? (this would be the upgrade version).

This is my opinion, I think the Boxed version would be better.
So then, You can download it onto two computers..
It has the manual (book) instead of just online or whatever..

Whether you need to buy Mac OS X 10.7.3 depends on what version of OS X you have now.
If you have OS X 10.6.x or lower it is a paid upgrade from the Mac AppStore.
If you have OS X 10.7.x it is a free upgrade you get using Software Update on your Mac.

I am unable to open raw files taken on my Canon Rebel T1i in my version of Photoshop CS3. When I import raw files into Bridge they come up as patches with CR2 on them and when clicked on, a notice comes up stating that Photoshop does not recognize these files. I tried to update my Adobe Camera Raw by downloading version 4.6 from the Adobe Website, but when I clicked on the plus-in, I got another message that Photoshop does not recognize this file. I spoke with a representative from Canon who said that I could not update CS3 and that I should subscribe to the Cloud. I would prefer to use my CS3, if possible. Can anyone advise me what to do?

I have updated from Snow Leopard to Lion with Safari Version 5.0.5. Now I can not update to Safari 5.1. There is no update in the Software Updater, and on the apple-download page, I only found a Safari 5.1 for Snow Leopard. When executing it, there is an error message, that it is for 10.6 only.
It seems that I should have first updated Safari, and then only to Lion, which I didn't. Any idea how I can fix this now without having to rollback to Snow Leopard, update Safari and then go back to Lion?

The download worked better with Firefox not sure why. At the bottom of the page after the captcha>> slow down load is the Free link, it took about 4 minutes to download on my test.
