CONVERT from iTunes to other FORMATS (AAC, AIFF, MP3, WAV)

Came across a problem in trying to get music purchased from iTunes to be recognized by other media players (Quicktime or Final Cut Express). I found how to get iTunes to export to cd/dvd disks in AIFF format (and other formats).
Steps used:
From iTunes:
Create a new playlist folder in iTunes (under file)
Drop the songs you wished to use into the playlist folder
Go to the iTunes main menu,
select 'Preferences'
select 'Advanced'
select 'Import'
using "Import Using" select the format (AAC, AIFF, MP3, WAV) you desire
Input your CD/DVD disk to burn
highlight your Playlist file in iTunes that you want to convert
select 'File' in iTunes,
select "Burn Playlist to disc"
What you end up with is a CD/DVD with the music files in the format you selected -(I needed AIFF) from there you can use the disk or copy your converted files back into Final Cut or other software for use.
Hope this helps others having similar issues

Have you tried other formats, besides AIFF?
You can only burn purchased music to an
b Audio CD
and the Finder will tell you the files are AIFF. Actually the files on an Audio CD are PCM, but Mac OS 'sees' them as AIFF.
You can't convert purchased music in other formats, because it's protected.

  • Converting from iTune's format to MP3

How do I take the tunes that are in my iTunes library and put them on a Cd/DVD so that I can play them in a regular car stereo?
A friend of mine said that iTunes are not really in a MP3 format, and that is the reason the car does not see them.
Anyone know how to do this? Do I need special software or hardware?
    Thanks
    Doug

To burn songs on an Audio CD (regular CD as you name it), the format of the songs is unimportant.
Wether they are MP3, AAC, AIFF, WAV or Apple Lossless, it doesn't matter.
They are converted 'on the fly' into the proper Audio CD format (PCM).
To burn them on MP3 CD, the songs have to be converted to MP3, if they are not already mp3s.

  • Converting from iTunes 7 to Creative Mediasource

I have an iPod and my husband just bought a Creative Zen Micro. I need to import songs from iTunes to Creative Mediasource, but Mediasource doesn't recognize iTunes format. I have read on other forums that I need to change the ID3 tags...HOWEVER, iTunes is not giving me that option. I see it there under Advanced but "Convert ID3 tags" is not available to select. Why not? How else can I convert these songs?

can you please point me to how you did this? I went through the uninstall of iTunes 7.0.2 and reinstalled iTunes 6 but then there was no Library.
Is there a complete instruction sheet on how exactly to get back to iTunes 6? thanx.

Spend some money at http://flip4mac.com and then do some homework regarding exports from iMovie to QuickTime formats.
Then spend some more money to buy the Pro upgrade to QuickTime Player 7 so you can use this third party software (not supported by the newer versions of iMovie).

  • Converting a report into other format

    Hello everybody,
I'm having a problem when I try to convert any report to any other format.
From the report previewer I click the command at File\Generate to File, and whatever format I choose (PDF, HTML, RTF, ...), a Save dialog box appears to enter the file name. I enter the file name and click "Save". I always get an error message "Unimplemented Error", and the conversion doesn't perform.
    Could anybody help me, please.
Note: At the server side I have Windows 2000 Server and Oracle 9i, and at the workstation side I have Windows XP and Oracle Forms/Reports Builder 6i.

    Hello,
This problem has been reported as a bug in the First versions of Reports 6i.
It has been fixed in the Patchset 3.
Have you applied the latest patchset available for Reports 6i ?

  • I cannot seem to transfer music from ITunes to other devices?

Is it not possible to transfer music from Itune's to other device's then Aplle products?

Recent iTunes Store music purchases can be moved to non-Apple devices by locating the song files and following the instructions provided with the device; in some cases, the file needs to be converted to MP3 first. Very old music purchases can't be except to a handful of Motorola cellphones.

  • Extract Date from AVI or other formats

I have several files that I captured from my digital camcorder to AVI files. I've read that generally, the date and time are captured with the file. Is there any way to extract that info from the AVI files. How about other formats?
The timestamp of the AVI file won't work since I took the video a couple years before I extract it from the tape.
    Thanks,

  • Is it possible to download songs from itunes directly on to usb as mp3

Is it possible to download songs from itunes direct to usb as mp3

If you are referring to the iTunes Store, then no, because all songs they sell are in AAC format.  You can buy MP3s from other online stores, such as Amazon MP3.

  • Bit rate & format AAC or MP3)?

I am about to purchase about 200 1960's & 1970's rock songs from iTunes. This will be my first purchases:
    1. I notice that the bit rate that is auto selected for me is 128. It looks like I can change this. Which bit rate should I choice to get the best sound? Am I allowed to pick, for example, 160, 192, 224, 256, etc.? Are the only considerations quality of sound and storage size? Or for rock music, is 128 as good as I need?
    2. I see that there are at least two formats, AAC & MP3. Can I purchase my songs in MP3 format in case I ever want to play them outside of iTunes or do I have to buy them via AAC?
I have a MacBook Pro with iTunes and a Treo 680 with pTunes (which I have rarely used to listen to music). At some point in the next few months, I will probably replace my Treo with an iPhone.

The additional hard drive space is negligible compared with the enhanced sound quality (hard for some people to hear) and the non-DRMness. It's totally worth it to get the iTunes Plus version, since you can do whatever you want to with that song file (your personal info is stored in the file, so if you distribute it you will be found out!). That means you can burn it however many times you want, play it with any media player program and, of course, load it onto non-ipod mp3 players.
