Convert from Oracle Freeware to Licensed version

Good day,
We have a development database on Oracle9i and our Dev Team wants us (urgently) to migrate it to Oracle10g R2. We are planning to use the OTN License version while we are waiting for the license.
My question is, is their a way/shortcut to convert the OTN License version to a licensed version without having to remigrate the database? Any info will be appreciated. Thank you.

Good day,
We have a development database on Oracle9i and our
Dev Team wants us (urgently) to migrate it to
Oracle10g R2. We are planning to use the OTN License
version while we are waiting for the license. Apparently your legal department has not haad a chance to see the Oracle License agreement. The Oracle9i license you used was for Prototype and evaluation, not for Development.
My question is, is their a way/shortcut to convert
the OTN License version to a licensed version without
having to remigrate the database? Any info will be
appreciated. Thank you.It's exactly the same software. The Oracle License is simply a 'permission to use the software under certain circumstances'. There is absolutely no change in what you are doing.
Well, not quite .... when you license the software properly for development and production, you have nthe opportunity to purchase support. So the big change is that you will be able to get and apply patches.

  • Convert from oracle to access

    Dear all,
    Is there any tool to convert from oracle to access?
    Thanks for advance !

    I will describe two ways here.
    1) By toad
    Toad outputs the result in a grid. You can save it as csv file and then can import in access database.
    2) By sql* plus spooling
    SQL> set heading off
    SQL> spool dept.txt
    SQL> select 'Dept Number,Dept Name,Location' from dual
    2 union all
    3 select deptno||','||dname||','||loc from dept;
    SQL> spool off
    Now you got dept.txt as csv file. Import this file in access database.

    Hi NZL,
    As the Weblogic version 10.3.0.0 is not available in OTN or edelivery so request you to open a Service Request so that shipment team will provide FTP link so that it could be downloaded.
    Also please refer to the note:Error Correction Support Dates for Oracle WebLogic Server (Doc ID 950131.1)

  • Convert from Oracle to Paradox

    How is the best way to convert an Oracle 8.1.7 database to Paradox 7 db ?
    Are there any tool available that will be able to do this ?
    I know I can create scripts to create the tables and import the data. But because the datatypes is not similiar, it will not be that straightforward.

    I can also convert to DBase - if anybody have a solution for that .....

  • Calling BIP from Oracle Forms: Having Java version problem.

    <h3>
    Hi,
    I tried to call a BIP report through Oracle Forms.
    I followed this PDF.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/xml-publisher/docs/Forms_BIP_v22.pdf
    Problem is, when I run the form, I get this error (copied from the Java Console)
    Oracle JInitiator: Version 1.3.1.22

    I am using Forms Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2.
    JDeveloper Version is 10.1.3.5.0.
    The Forms 10g Java version is 1.4.
    So according to what I discovered on the net, the problem is: My JInitiator is 1.3 using JRE 1.3, BUT my .JAR file is Java 1.5.
    Since we are using the Oracle JVM, ticking “Use JRE 1.5..” in the Advanced tab of the Internet Explorer Options has no effect.
    We cannot upgrade the Oracle JInitiator to a 1.5 since there is no such JInitiator version. JInitiator is available only up to 1.3.1.30.
    What can I do. What if I install Java 1.3 in my machine and re-compile my JAR file with that? Will that work or is there another solution?
    Has anybody encountered this problem?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    C.S.
    </h3>

    Hi,
    Yes, you need to compile your source files with JDK 1.3 (since JInit 1.3.x.x uses JDK 1.3).
    Other solution would be to use JRE 1.5 (instead of JInitiator).
    Check out [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=550563] on how to use JRE1.5

  • How do I convert from the try & buy license to the full license?

    Hi, we ordered a new Imq2.0 license after our JmQ2.0 beta license expired. Since it will take a few weeks to get that through the government purchasing process, I downloaded the latest try & buy imq from iplanet so we can continue our development while waiting for the purchasing process to complete. After installing the linux version, software that used to work with the JMS2.0 beta now crashes with the stack trace printed below.
    What does this Bad Portmapper Version Number exception mean and how do I fix
    it? I can't find anything on the Developer Connection about "Bad portmapper"?!??!

    We made some protocol changes between JMQ2.0 Beta and iMQ2.0. My
    guess is your clients are not using the iMQ2.0 jar files. The bottom
    line is you can't mix Beta servers and iMQ2.0 clients (and vice versa).
    This is mentioned in the release notes, although maybe it is not
    explicit enough. It should probably be mentioned in our FAQ too.

  • Converting from Oracle Express Objects to Standard Form

    Hi,
    I have create an EIF file from our Oracle Express database, then I have created an Analytic Workspace and imported the EIF file. After this I identify the Time dimensions. But when I want to identify the hierarchie dimension of each time dimension, it brings an Error: "ORA-34492: Analytic Workspace Object Jan96 does not exists", but when I look in the OX there exists the object. Where is the problem?
    Thanks Diana

    Did you run the conversion program listed in the documentation:
    If your Express database contains Oracle Express Objects metadata (that is, it was created by Oracle Express Administrator), then you can use a conversion program named CREATE_DB_STDFORM. Without Oracle Express Objects metadata, CREATE_DB_STDFORM cannot generate sufficient standard form metadata for the OLAP tools to work.
    This should generate the required metadata but you will not to create some additional attributes to correctly manage time as the conversion utility does not do everything for you:
    If you want to perform time-based analysis on your data, you must identify all time dimensions and populate end date and time span attributes before using CREATE_DB_STDFORM. A sample program is provided in this appendix:
    Create date and time span attributes for each dimension.
    DEFINE TIME_TIME_SPAN VARIABLE INTEGER <timedim hierdim>
    PROPERTY 'USERDATA' FALSE
    DEFINE TIME_END_DATE VARIABLE DATE <timedim hierdim>
    PROPERTY 'USERDATA' FALSE
    Populate the end date and time span attributes, as described in "Populating Time Attributes".
    Set properties on the Time dimension:
    CONSIDER timedim
    PROPERTY 'END_DATE' attribute_name
    PROPERTY 'TIME_SPAN' attribute_name
    The END_DATE and TIME_SPAN values (attribute_name) identify the names of the variables that you just created.
    Run the conversion tool with a command like this:
    CALL CREATE_DB_STDFORM('aw')
    Refer to the syntax description in "CREATE_DB_STDFORM Syntax". After the conversion tool completes successfully, save the changes:
    UPDATE
    COMMIT
    Hope this helps

  • Call a web services from oracle forms 10

    I have to call a web services from oracle forms.
    The version of the database is oracle 11gr2. the version of the forms is 10.1.2.0.2.
    I allready did the proxy creation and the import class within forms.
    I have 2 questions:
    1.
    I created the following procedure:
    PROCEDURE call_WS IS
         vobject1 ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
         vobject2 ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
    BEGIN
    vobject1 := WSEvaluarReglaCondicionComerci.new();
    vobject2 := WSEvaluarReglaCondicionComerci.listarValoresAtributoEvento(vobject1, 702, 2217, null, null, null);
    END;
    the function I calling:
    FUNCTION listarValoresAtributoEvento(
    obj ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT,
    a0 ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT,
    a1 ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT,
    a2 ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT,
    a3 VARCHAR2,
    a4 ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT) RETURN ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT;
    Note that the parameters is ORA_JAVA_JOBJECT and I need to send numbers. I understand that when I import the classes, because in the WS those parameters are defined as BigDecimal, Forms understand them as java object but when I compile it reports the error: "numero o tipo de argumento erroneo al llamar..." type error.
    So the question is, how Cast the numbers to Java Object to send them.
    I have read in a web page that one option is to change in the web service the type of the parameters but that is not an option.
    2.
    The WS returns a super big XML as answer, so how I can parse the result into an Object type?...
    The object structure is:
    TYPE opciones_obj AS OBJECT
    (strindice VARCHAR2 (4000),
    nombrecompleto VARCHAR2 (4000),
    nombre VARCHAR2 (4000),
    strtipodato VARCHAR2 (4000),
    codigoopcion NUMBER,
    floatval FLOAT,
    strtipo VARCHAR2 (4000),
    strval VARCHAR2 (4000));
    and the tags to extract is:
    COLUMNS strindice VARCHAR2 (4000)
    PATH 'ns2:mapEntry[ns2:key="strIndice"]/ns2:value',
    nombrecompleto VARCHAR2 (4000)
    PATH 'ns2:mapEntry[ns2:key="nombreCompleto"]/ns2:value',
    nombre VARCHAR2 (4000)
    PATH 'ns2:mapEntry[ns2:key="nombre"]/ns2:value',
    strtipodato VARCHAR2 (4000)
    PATH 'ns2:mapEntry[ns2:key="strTipoDato"]/ns2:value',
    codigoopcion NUMBER
    PATH 'ns2:mapEntry[ns2:key="codigoOpcion"]/ns2:value',
    floatval FLOAT
    PATH 'ns2:mapEntry[ns2:key="floatVal"]/ns2:value',
    strtipo VARCHAR2 (4000)
    PATH 'ns2:mapEntry[ns2:key="strTipo"]/ns2:value',
    strval VARCHAR2 (4000)
    PATH 'ns2:mapEntry[ns2:key="strVal"]/ns2:value') x;
    xquery / xmltype aparently is not an option because the xml is too big.
    I will appreciate your answers.
    Thanks.

  • Licensed version and free download from OTN of Oracle 10g DB

    I had a doubt with any difference with the licensed version and free download from OTN of Oracle 10g DB. We had downloaded a free version of oracle 10g
    database from OTN and are using it in our live environment. It seems to be working fine. We are trying to get a licensed copy of Oracle 10g DB also but that may take sometime. So, my doubt is whether the free download from OTN should not create any problems in our live environment.
    I hope, my question is clear.
    Please, help in solving the doubt.
    regards

    Hello,
    There is no difference whether you download from OTN or get so called licensed copy of oracle software. It's free to download and free to use you are using for personal eduction purpose, but if you are using for commercial purpose then you should contact oracle sales for pricing but you can continue with the same software. See following link for certification on different platform

  • Keys lost in converting from sybase to oracle

    I am trying to convert from sybase 12 to oracle 10 using the migration workbench.
    The oracle data base created does not have the primary keys that were in the sybase data base. I used the tool to create migration scripts, Create.sql and Drop.sql. These scripts create the tables but do not have primary keys in them.
    Another question is I have user types from the sybase database. Is it possible to change them in the tool? Right now it looks like I can only change the basic database types as in smallInt.

    Hi <Please Supply Your Name>,
    What version of SQL Developer are you using?
    "Create.sql" and "Drop.sql" sound like old OMWB names, Just want to double check.
    Thanks

  • Convert from free trail version to CC download version of Lightroom

    I tried the trail version of lightroom and liked it.  I signed up for the special Photoshop CC and Lightroom cloud version for 9.99 a month.  When I use the download for Lightroom it says it is up to date because I have the download from the trail on the machine.  If I click the link to convert from trial to purchased version it drives me to enter a license number which I do not have for the Cloud based monthly subscription.  How to I get converted from the trail (which has 23 days remaining ) to the version I am paying for?  Thanks for the help

    According to Adobe if you already have a trial or purchased version of Lightroom installed, you don't have to uninstall it. Choose the option to install the Lightroom through either the Creative Cloud app or through the Creative Cloud Download Center. It upgrades your trial or purchased installation to the fully licensed version that is part of your membership. You can’t even use the serial number from previous version of Lightroom when you install the Creative Cloud version of Lightroom. Creative Cloud products license with your Adobe ID. Even though a Lightroom Creative Cloud installation includes a serial number, it's only used for registration, not installation.
    After you have purchased a Creative Cloud Individual membership, Lightroom is available for installation within the Creative Cloud desktop app. If you have already installed the trial version of Lightroom, you can license it by running the Lightroom installer from the Creative Cloud desktop app.
