Convert GroupWise to Outlook

It's real a good news for Novell mail client users because PCVITA Novell Address Book converter is totally free of cost as demo version. If you think about Novell GroupWise to Outlook migration then, just download NAB converter free of cost and convert
15 contacts from GroupWise to Outlook without paying any money. If you desire to convert whole contacts from GroupWise to Outlook Address book then pay $49 only for Full Version.

We didn't have much luck with the 3rd party migration tools when we did our Groupwise to Exchange conversion.  The Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Migration Wizard actually worked the best even for Exchange 2007.
Try GroupWise to Exchange software and convert GroupWise user mailbox to MS Outlook PST file in few simple steps. For more information and free download this software click here http://groupwisetoexchange.blogspot.com

  • Converting from GroupWise to Outlook

Currently we have GroupWise installed.  We are migrating to Exchange.  We want to pre-install Outlook 2010 several weeks ahead of time.  On the day the user is migrated, we are leaving the GroupWise software intact, but users will use Outlook.
I am having issues getting Outlook to connect to our Exchange server automatically.  I was told by one of our engineers that it should work without any issue, but it's not working.  It comes up and asks to create a new profile.  In my msp file
I have chosen to create a new profile, but did not provide any information to go into that profile.

Do not have any direct experience with Groupwise migration but providing the following purely as information items in the event that these may be of assistance

This has worked fine with MobileMe with only a couple of minor glitches in the past.
Any experience doing this the "right" way?

  • GroupWise 8 + Outlook 2013 on the same PC (headaches)

So I have a problem that's been making me pull my hair out and was hoping someone could offer some advice.
OS - Windows 7 Professional x64 (all Windows Updates installed)
    GroupWise version - 8
I have a user (who is a local admin on that machine) who is unable to properly run GroupWise. He simply gets the "GroupWise is not properly installed" error when he tries to open the client. I have found that I can go to the Control Panel, select the "Mail (32-bit)" option, and remove every information service entry from that list, and then I can open GroupWise again. One time. Once I close GW, it gives that same "GroupWise is not properly installed" message.
I've seen this in the past where GW and Outlook don't like to be on the same machine (most of the problems in those cases being related to the address book and GW insisting that I create an Outlook profile). My fix has always been to simply "custom" install MS Office and exclude Outlook, since we don't actually use Outlook. For the most part, that has always worked like a champ. However, to the best of my knowledge, Office 2013 is an "all or nothing" thing that doesn't allow you to do a custom install, so I end up with a machine that's going to have both installed.
Am I doing something wrong? I typically install Office first, then the GroupWise client, make sure GroupWise is set for all its defaults, and I'm good to go. But this is the first time I've dealt with Outlook 2013 and GW on the same machine. Is there a more proper way to make GroupWise 8 behave when it's on the same machine as Outlook 2013? I've just got this particular user running with WebAccess until I can get it figured out. Since we're going to be doing a lot more Office 2013 installations in the near future, I'd like to get this figured out and not have to deal with it again.

Hm...somehow, in all the searching I did on this, I managed to miss that. Didn't notice that there was a difference between click-to-run and the actual disc and thought the custom install wasn't even an option.
Thanks. I'll try the download/burn a disc option and see if I can get it to work that way. I believe I'll be in good shape if I can just do a custom install of MS Office and not be forced to install Outlook with it. Most of the issues seem to come from GW/Outlook being installed on the same machine.

  • Groupwise and Outlook!  Help!!!

Having trouble with syncing my Iphone with my work computer. Our office runs Groupwise for email and so they added Outlook 2003 so that I could use the Iphone for contacts and email. They were able to get it to run initially and then when a new version of Itunes was downloaded it stopped. Now I can't get Outlook and the Iphone to sync. It seems as if Outlook and Groupwise are fighting. Any ideas.

What you can do is sync your data from the Z22 to outlook 2000, 2002, 2003, or 2007 using PIM conduit switcher. Go to start - all programs - palm - PIM conduit sync - select Outlook.

  • GroupWise 7 Import Utility for Microsoft Outlook B

    Hi,
We use Outlook with the GroupWise Connector, but now we want to migrate to
    the GroupWise client.
Most of the users have created a PST file in outlook.
I want to convert the PST files with the novell tool "GroupWise 7 Import
    Utility for Microsoft Outlook B".
If I run the tool when I am connected to the archive the folder structure
is created, but only 1% of the mails get restored!!
    Is there sometghing I missed?
I have tried to convert the PST file to an older version and I tried to run
scanpst, but the outcome is the same!!
    Does someone have a suggestion?
    Thanks,
    Hein

I would totally agree about the advansys/formativ product. We converted
..PST files that in some cases were 15 to 21 GB (yes gigabytes) in size and
had perfect results. It just takes a long time with PST files that size.
Best part is the Outlook product from advansys is FREE! You install it on a
workstation that has both GroupWise and Outlook. It plugs itself into the
GroupWise client and you start the process from GW client. It goes out to
the Exchange system and/or to the .PST files and begins the migration.

  • Convert client Outlook 2007 .ost to Outlook 2007 .pst

I apologize up front as I know through reading and general experience that this problem has probably been asked every which way a million times. I have looked through the Exchange General faq2 listing and did not find it defined as such however.
My immediate need issue is this, I have a small network of five clients with Office 2007 on a new SBS2008 server domain.
Unfortunately Three months elapsed between the time service contract was signed and original installation. While setting up server backup for first time, problems with original install were noted and then backup trashed the data storage drive while initializing for first time. Great fun ensued and to the point, the server crashed  and was reloaded and reinstalled onsite. The data on the storage drive was reinstalled from a recovery software USB drive.
The core issue in short is that clients HW/general software did not change, but server/ domain/ client ID'/ client profiles/ exchange server ect... did.
Now all clients have been rejoined to the "New" server and all is well, past that point including the darned 2008 backup. But I have a severe problem of having on each client computer three months of outlook 2007 offline mail items on a ghost profile I can not access due to it being on a ghost domain. It's all there as it was the day the server crashed, but totally inaccessible to my knowledge.
The exchange server does not see the mail as it never received it,  so any of the known to me Microsoft outlook .pst/ost repair tools would not work as their is nothing to fix as far as they would know from the exchange servers poiont of view.
I need something to go in and convert the old Outlook Offline .ost files to .pst files so they can be read by the current profiles outlook installation and the individual mail items, calendars, ect… simply migrated over to the new profiles offline file.
I have complete access to the files needing conversion and can take ownership but lack any working tool to convert the .ost files to something readable to the current Outlook / Exchange profiles.
There is tonnage of software to do this. But it costs an arm and a leg and i am just trying to see if their is another Microsoft way of doing this.
P.S. if not, their needs to be! Orphaned .ost files happen a lot for a lot of reasons.

Google OST2PST.  Maybe it'll work for you.

  • Possible convert to Blackberry from Palm - please help with outlook questions

I'm debating switching from a Palm Treo 800 (battery life is awful) to Blackberry Curve. I chose the Treo because of active sync with my work exchange server and ability to open Office documents.
Currently, I sync my outlook mail, tasks & calendar with work, and my contacts & notes with my home computer. So if i follow your instructions for using BIS instead of BES (my employer only provides BES service for a carrier which is not mine ...), will I be able to sync manually with a cable to my work computer for  calendar & tasks and then to my home computer for contacts & notes?
I have to decide THIS WEEK if I'm going to switch from Palm to Blackberry, so please hurry! The blackberry seems like it's a lot more fun than the Palm, and your support is much more extensive and user-friendly!

Ok, so if both machines are Outlook based, I would not see a problem,
You would need  2 DM programs one at work and one at home.
For work you can specify sync for tasks and calendar, for home sync contacts and notes.
Both calendars would have to be the Outlook calendar as default.
You can the have the synced BB and would have the ability to backup on both machines, or better yet, back up on one machine to eliminate confusion. In case of failure, you have a backup of ALL data.
You wouldn't have to convert anything because Outlook is fully compatible with the Desktop Manager.
    I don't see a problem.

  • Groupwise 7 Gateway for Exchange

I am testing the Novell Groupwise Gateway for Exchange SP2. I have already tested the API Gateway but wanted to try the newer version because it will be supported for awhile. I downloaded the install and went through all the instructions. I am using Groupwise 7.0.1 and Exchange 2003. The install went fine and the configurations are correct but I must be missing something. When I go to start the Gateway Application it starts then stops. I checked on the GW MTA and it says the link is Closed. The reason the link it closed it says can't create directories. I checked the Gateway application and it shows Groupwise link closed and other link Open. I logged into a ws as the same user to check the rights and I was able to create a new directory in the domain directory. I changed the logging to verbose on the Exchange Gateway to see if I can see an error and it says trying to re-establish GW link.
