Both systems are connected to same NFS storage where vmdk resides , my question is , is there a way except from export to OVA and import it back to Xen a way to do it directly from Xen console , I looked around didn't found any way to do such way?
Thanks

Savvy CEOs and executives know that interview questions like, "What's your biggest strength?" and, "What's your biggest weakness?" aren't as telling as they seem. Many top execs have their one favorite go-to question that reveals everything they need to know about a job candidate. Here are 23 of them. How would you describe yourself in one word? The best candidates are the ones who know exactly who they are. That's why Dara Richardson-Heron, CEO of women's organization YWCA, always asks her candidates this question.Richardson-Heron has said she doesn't judge people on the word they choose, but it does give her insight into how people package themselves. She tells Adam Bryant at The New York Times that she likes when people take time to ponder the question and answer thoughtfully...Read More

  • Can you import video directly from a video camera ?

Can you import video directly from a video camera to the iPad 2 ? If so, what is needed?

I would say no. I have an Ipad2 with the connection kit. A recent Sony camera which works fine in imovie for my 27" imac, but nothing with the Ipad. Only thing that it finds are pictures that can be made with the same video camera. Apple wrote a note aboit probkmes with importing, but i'm very disappointed with what i have right now.

  • Lightroom 5 not importing photos directly from card

I have Lightroom 5, and it's not importing photos directly from the memory card, either via card reader or with the camera plugged in.  I have a Canon 60D, and am shooting in RAW.
LR5 opens, and the photos show up as thumbnail previews.  I click to import, and I get a message that the files could imported because they could not be read.  If I immediately go to the "my computer" icon, the card reader (or camera, whichever is plugged in) does not show up as being connected to the computer.  If I unplug the card reader (or camera), let Lightroom open, then immediately go to the "my computer" icon before I try to import via LR5, the card reader shows up then.  I have to drag the images from the card onto my desktop, then import the images to LR5.
Anyone know why LR5 is doing this?

Greyed out photos means you have previously imported the photos into Lightroom, and there is no need to import them again (nor is it a good idea to do so). You need to go to the Library Module (not the Import dialog box) and find the photos and use them as you want.
If you try to import a not-greyed-out photo, and it takes "forever", close Lightroom and try deleting your preference file: Preference and other file locations in Lightroom 5

  • .THM Sidecar Files Not Included When Importing Video Directly From Camera (Canon 7d)

Lightroom (3.4) has always copied the .THM sidecard files when I have imported video files from my Canon 7d using a card reader.  However I am on a trip and have forgotten my card reader so I have been copying directly from the camera and for some reason Lightroom is not copying the .THM sidecar files and thus I am missing all my valuable metadata such as camera, exposure, focal length, ISO, etc. associated with the video files.  Very frustrating!
    Any ideas?

Also because I do not have a card reader I cannot grab the .thm files myself.  Mac OS X (and I think Windows) just see the camera as a "device" and offer to import but do not give me direct access to the files.  Maybe if there is an app that will allow me to do that when the camera is connected I can work around this for now.

  • Importing Samples Directly From Arrange to EXS24 . .

Does anyone know is this is possible. Say i have cut up a break or sample, is there anyway to create a new exs instrument from the slices, rather than saving them all individually and then creating a new instrument. Might not be possible...but hey... i thought id ask... Thanks

Suck it and see. More and more drag and drop is possible with the latest versions of both Logic and the mac OS. I know you can drag audio files from the desktop onto EXS24, but I have never tried directly from the arrange window. I suspect it won't work, as EXS24 needs to reference to an audio file to play the sound back. Worth a try though. You could also try it from the audio window, dragging the split file created by the cut up regions in the arrange window, although by that time, you might as well have saved the regions out.
remember also that you can save multiple audio files from the audio window. If you have the windows linked, and then select all of the regions you want in the arrange window, the same bits will be automatically selected in the audio window. You can then select Save Region As. Still long winded though. Drag and drop from the arrange window would be cool.

  • Importing into iPhoto from large external storage

I am sure this has been answered before but I confess I cannot find an answer that allows me to do what I would like, so I apologize if this is redundant and in which case a pointer to the right place would be appreciated. Here is my problem, I have been taking digital photos since the start of digital photography, I have around 40,000 nicely filed and categorized. I have a master Photo directory which contains a bunch of generic subject matters, family, kids, etc. Then there are folders named simply by year, one set for business, one for family, and a few more for special circumstances. These each contain folders with subject matter with each subject matter folder name preceded by a 6-character date (yymmdd), so I'll have "090812 Trip to Estonia", and then maybe "100828 Bertie's Birthday Party" and so on. Thus everything sorts nicely on a calendar-time basis and I can find stuff easily and quickly. I have been doing this for decades. I use Photo Mechanic as a file manager because I have found nothing faster or more complete - JUST for photo management, which is exactly what I want, and I use Photoshop for fiddling and messing around.
But - I would LOVE to use some of the iPhoto features.
So - How can I get iPhoto to manage some of my photos. Not all of them, that would be excessive, but say the last 10 years of family pictures and maybe some selected other folders.
I really do not want to duplicate everything in two places, can iPhoto use links to the originals and then manage the links in its own manner? I do not want to change my current organization structure, for one thing it is duplicated automatically on two computers and a NAS, then backed up automatically from the computers - all Macs. Also there are two PC users that access and jointly administer the NAS. The Macs then sync-up automatically. So the structure is really not something I can change. But I could do something locally to the Macs to use iPhoto that does not impact the main storage structure.
Does anyone have any ideas how I might accomplish this? Can iPhoto manage photo collections in the tens of thousands? Any suggestions?
    Thanks - Lawrence

I have a similar naming convention where the file name is preceded by the YYYYMMDD and the files are located in an event folder (i.e., 2nd birthday, pumpkin picking). Each event is then located in a folder by year. I currently use Canon's software to do this on a PC. (EOS Rebel XTi)
You can not control the folder structure of iPhoto and should never be going into the iPhoto library so it makes no difference. iPhoto uses the file name of the file when you import so you can control the file names by (and only by) naming the files the way you want and then importing
For clarification, is this possible using iPhoto?
As to file names -as to folder names and structure no
Can I direct iPhoto to do this whenever downloading new pics without using the Canon software and store these files within iPhoto?
    no
Or is there a way to direct pics into "the iPhone library" using the Canon software?
No - search the forums - there is a recent topic on scanning to a folder and using Automator to watch the folder and import photos place in it into iPhoto - that would work for what you wnat I believe

  • Is there any way to import photos directly from Blackberry bold smart phone

Is there any way to import photos from my blackberry bold to the my ipad 2?

Not directly, no, not that I've seen. You need to get the photos from your Blackberry into your computer. From there you can sync them to your iPad.

  • How can I Import photos directly from Mail into iPhoto?

Prior to updating to Lion, when viewing photo attachments within Apple Mail, I could do a quick preview of attached photo(s) within the email and click an iPhoto icon that would import the photos into iPhoto. Something has changed now when selecting "Quick Look" I do not get an option to send the photo to iPhoto. Am I missing somthing or is this feature no longer available with Lion/Mail?

Not sure if this helps or not. I recently installed Lion for my mother, and she couldn't figure out how to export photos in an email to iPhoto. Turns out she had to click on Details in the upper right corner of the email message. Then the Save and Quick Look buttons returned. If you click and hold on Save (possibly on the triangle on the right side of the button) there is an option to save to iPhoto.
I haven't upgraded to Lion myself yet so I can't answer your specific question regarding saving to iPhoto from the Quick Look preview.

  • Importing video directly from camera

When I import video, I just connect my camera, import directly, and set the store it on an external drive. Is that the best way, or should I first put the videos on the external drive, and then import them? I will use my pictures in other applications, like Aperture.
    B

Also because I do not have a card reader I cannot grab the .thm files myself.  Mac OS X (and I think Windows) just see the camera as a "device" and offer to import but do not give me direct access to the files.  Maybe if there is an app that will allow me to do that when the camera is connected I can work around this for now.

  • How can I import images directly from my Canon EOS 6D to Lightroom?

When I try to import from my Canon EOS 6D camera to Lightroom, the Canon EOS software intervenes and wants to take over. I have to quit that software, go to Lightroom, and import from there. This happens whether I use the USB cable or a reader. I'm new to Lightroom. When I used Apple Aperture, the import was immediate. Aperture opened and started the process as soon as I connected the camera to my computer. Any idea what's happening here and how I can fix it?

Do you need the Canon software? Uninstalling it would solve the problem. If it's anything like the Nikon software, it's not worth keeping ...
On Windows, you could possibly fix it by changing the file association for canon files, don't know how that's done on a Mac, though.

  • Why doesn't iMovie import video directly from the iPhone 3GS

We here quite frequently that Apple offers a better overall experience than the competition because they make the whole widget... I was SHOCKED to discover that iMovie will NOT recognize my iPhone 3GS... Doesn't Apple make both products and their OS's (Yes, I know they make both)?
iMovie imports video from my FLip HD just fine... This is very disappointing... And yes, I figured out how to do it... Import it to iPhoto, export it as a .mov and import it to iMovie... This is crazy, Apple!

What I find shocking is that if you open iMovie and select "Import from Camera..." the iPhone doesn't show up.
For further clarification, I have turned off the option to open iPhoto or Image Capture automatically when a camera is attached. I don't that option to import photos from my camera because they are automatically imported to my computer via the eye-fi card in my camera.
I do expect that when I open iMovie manually and select to "Import from Camera..." that the iPhone will be recognized as a camera. My FLip mino HD is recognized and it is awkward to then have to open iPhoto, import the movies, export the movies and then import them to iMovie to modify them and move them to my Apple TV.
I have provided Apple my Feedback on both their iPhone and iMovie sites.

  • Is there anyway to import photos directly from my camera?

Is there an adapter I can buy? Can I transfer via Bluetooth?
I'm leaving for France Sunday with my iPad and I hate to have to bring my laptop just to sync photos.

  • When I copy files from my camera to my C drive and import to PP there isn't any meta data when I import direct from camera it is available.

My camera is a Sony HDR-CX730 AVCHD format
Software is Windows 7 and CS6 Production Suite
When importing images direct from the camera all metadata such as dates, time etc is available in PP
When files are  copied from the camera to C Drive on the computer and then imported into PP the metadata is lost.
What do I need to do?

Thought it might have been the case. My GH3 also shoots both AVCHD and MOV/H.264  files. With the GH3, the AVCHD is both more complicated (on account of the folder structure) and a slight bit noisier ... with no other image quality gain. So I've done as most folks, shot really only the MOV with it.
But that first bit of shooting with it ... um ... naive, shall we say? ... after 35+ years of pro stills portrait shooting, and more than a decade totally digital, well ... yea, I just grabbed the image files too. As do an awful lot of people. A very common thing to solve around here!

  • Can FCE 4 import directly from Panasonic Hard Disk Drive camcorder

I have FCE 3.5, and to import from my Panasonic SDR-H18 hard disk drive camcorder I need to convert from MPEG-4 to DV using MPEG Streamclip.
Can I import video directly from my Panasonic via a USB port to FCE 4, reading MPEG-4 without converting to DV.

FCE can only capture via FireWire.
FCE 4 will only capture DV and AVCHD. It won't capture the MPEG formats used by standard definition HDD and DVD cameras.
