Convert Imported video to a score?
Question: I have taken a video of my daughter playing on her piano some music she composed. I figured out that I can import the video into GarageBand. But is it possible to convert that imported video to a score (ie. see the music as sheet music) ?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Is there another program that would allow me to convert the video to a midi file
both Logic and Melodyne claim to be able to generate MIDI data from audio (in my limited experience: barely), and i think they would have an even more difficult time trying to transcribe from a "room recording," but i know Melodyne has a trial version so it would cost nothing to try (just don't get your hopes up)

Converting/importing Video
I am trying to import a WMV file to my project. I think I
need to convert to a swf file and import as an animation. Is that
correct? If so, how do I convert to SWF? If not please let me know
how I can import the file. Thanks.Hi Fluffy11
You will need to perform some sort of a conversion on the WMV
file before bringing it into Captivate. It needs to be in either
.SWF or .FLV format. If you have Flash, it may be possible to open
and convert the WMV there. I'm not 100% sure on that as I'm not a
"Flash person".
If you don't have Flash, you will need to use something like
Google to search for WMV to Flash conversion software. I took a
peek at that and here is a link to one I found:
And below is the link that will display the results in
Google:

i have a mac mini (without sd/sdhc card slot) and a sony cx160e camcorder and i want to import 50p video files, but i don't want to convert my video's. How can i import my video's?
Connect the camera to the computer with a USB cable and use the camera as the card reader. Make sure the camera is in playback mode.

ITunes imports video before it's finished converting :o(
Hi everyone,
So I'm the proud owner of a new ipod touch and I'm trying to put some videos on it. I found a video converter which appears to do the job (Magic iPod PSP 3GP Video Converter) and I have begun converting some videos. I have successfully converted all 3 'spiderman' films and 'die hard 1', however when I try and convert 'the great escape' at 56% conversion iTunes opens, interupts the conversion and imports the incomplete video into the library! The automatic video import feature worked fine for all the other films but it has done this to 'the great escape' about 5 times now! As a result I simply can't get the whole film (I'm missing the last hour and 15 minutes) into iTunes.
I have searched, but I can't find any way to switch off the automatic import thing. As far as I know I didn't even switch it 'on' at any point. Can someone please help? I will be grateful for any suggestions.
Thanks, Thomas.Thanks!
I changed some settings in QuickTime:
- enabled Instant On
- decreased the "play" to 3 notches up from "instantly"
- changed the streaming speed to 1Mb/s Cable from "automatic"
This seems to have sped things up quite a bit for downloading trailers and I bet it will solve this problem as well. Thanks again! -
Looking for help on importing video in Lightroom 4.4
I am not sure when this started happening or what has changed. I went to import some video and in the import dialog box all my video files show "Preview unavailable for this file" in the thumbnail in the grid view. And if I try to import them i get a dialog box with a message that says Import Results > Some import operations were not performed. > There is a problem with the video file (1) > [Filename].AVI
I am currently using windows 8 and I have imported video to this catalog before from the same camera. The video plays fine in the video players(windows media player, quicktime, and the new video app on windows 8 that is the default player in the OS).
I went throught the http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/troubleshoot-video-issues-lightroom-4.html and did all those suggestions. I am now turning to the forums before I reach out to support.
Has anyone else run into this issue or a simililar one that may be able to give me a workaround or solution?
I am a cloud subscriber and all my programs are up to date. Windows is current, all players are current, and this specific catalog has .AVI files in it from the same camera and the firmware on the camera has never been updated since I started shooting video.
Thanks,
Alex

Importing Video from DVD to Edit in iMovie?
I need to import video from a DVD to edit in iMovie. What's the best way to go about this?
Thanks,
Ted
MacBook Mac OS X (10.4.6) Also own an iBook, G3 500mhz, 10gb driveDVDs are in a socalled delivery format (mpeg2), which isn't meant and made for any processing as editing...
for using the iLife apps, you have to convert'em first, in recommended order, choose one of the following tools/workarounds:
* DVDxDV (free trial, 25$, Pro: 90$)
* Apple mpeg2 plugin (19$) + Streamclip (free)
* Cinematize >60$
* Mpeg2Works >25$ + Apple plug-in
* Toast 6/7/8 allows converting to dv/insert dvd, hit apple-k
* connect a miniDV Camcorder with analogue input to a DVD-player and transfer disk to tape/use as converter
none of these apps override copyprotection mechanisms as on commercial dvds...

Importing Video into iMovie '08 is not working
I'm trying to import video from my Coolpix S7C camera and iPhoto can see it and Quicktime can play it, but iMovie can't. Is there only a certain format that is importable in iMovie? For example, is only 1080i importable to iMovie?
And in case someone replies by saying that I should click Window > Event Library to display the project videos, that's already checked and no dice.
Thanks for any help on this one.
Oh, and I've just purchased Quicktime Pro to see if converting the file somehow will help.I found the answer on the net at a great site. In summary, if you don't have a DV camcorder, you need to buy Quicktime Pro, convert your .mov file into DV and then edit in iMovie and then convert it back into .mov to display. Kind of odd, but it does work.
Just thought I'd let anyone else out there having the same problem know. The site where you can find the instructions to do so is here:

Can't import video (.mp4) to itunes 10.5, pls help
I can't import video (.mp4 & .mov) to itunes 10.5.2.11 (can't both drag & down and add file to library).
I searched many ways to solve in google with myself , but still not work
Pls help -.-"MOV is a container format which may contain all kinds of codec, while iTunes only import MOV whose video codec is DV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, or AIC.
Even if the MOV meet the above requirement and supported and playable in iTunes, it will still fail to sync to iPod/iPad/iPhone/Apple TV if the MOV video does not fit the specification like resolution, bit rate, aspect ratio, size, and audio codec of the iPod/iPad/iPhone/Apple TV.
In order to successfully import MOV to iTunes as well as sync MOV to Apple TV, iPod, iPhone, iPad, we have better convert the MOV video to a more compatible video format.
Step by step guide on how to convert itunes unsupported mov to itunes supported one at How to Solve Can't Add MOV to iTunes to Play MOV in iTunes/iPod/iPad? -
Can't import videos to iTunes!??
I've been trying to import videos to itunes and for some reason they just won't go in! I have tried dvdrips and already converted to mp4 files on my harddrive, i've even downloaded the sample movie from the apple website to try and import that.
When i go to import in the fille menu, find the file and click choose absolutely nothing happens. the finder window closes and thats it. the same happens for add to library function. i have the most up to date version of itunes and my brother has the same mac ipod and itunes version and can do it just fine exactly the same way as i am trying. pretty frustrating can anyone help?? pleases?Have you tried using the Finder? Just drag the video files onto Library in the sidebar. iTunes can be unresponsive - don't drop the files until Library (or Movies) turns blue and you see a green dot with a plus sign on your cursor.
Once your movies are in iTunes, you can convert them to iPod format. Select the movie under Movies, then choose Advanced > Convert Selection to iPod. -
I have just purchased an 80gb iPod classic, and installed iTunes for the first time. I used Adobe Premier Elements 3.0 to convert 5 video clips of our children to iPod (H.264). Of the 5, 4 were imported as movies by iTunes. However, I cannot find a way to get the 5th into iTunes so I can synch to my iPod; I tried "add file to library", import, drag-and-drop - all failed. Since the videos were all taken with the same camera and converted with the same software, I'm not sure what the issue is. The only differentiator is that the file that I can't move to iTunes is larger (around 450mb vs. the next largest at 375mb).
Any thoughts?Good advice, but they're not there when I search, and there's no new folder in itunes music library. If they were transferring at all I'd expect a few seconds of progress bar action to show this. Instead they just don't transfer at all.
If anyone can post a step by step breakdown of how they put vid into itunes I'll see if I've missed something. -
Can somebody help me? Can't import videos that are already on my hard drive
i'm not the most technologically adept person. When it comes to iTunes, i plain stupid.
for some reason i can't import videos on my hard drive.
they are set to open in iTunes and if i double click on them, iTunes comes up and switches to the video screen, but it does not show the name in the list or play the video or anything. It's driving me nuts. Especially since i was considering buying an iPod video in the near future. But theres no point in even bothering if i can't get the videos into iTunes!!! If you know how to help my situtation or have any good tips let me know!!You do not use the 'Import' function under the File Menu to import P2 card content because the video content is still in its native form. For example, my Panasonic HPX 171 produces .MXF video files (amongst all the other files and folders within the overall heirarchy).
In order to access the copied P2 information you have to Log & Transfer it, as if it were a camera plugged into the computer. This process then converts the MXF P2 files into a Quicktime format that the Final Cut application can read and work with.
Take note that when archiving a P2 card as you did it is imperative that ALL the other files and folders are copied and saved. In other words, the entire 'CONTENTS' folder. It is this 'CONTENTS' folder that you navigate to within Log & Transfer when you want to import to FCP. -
Download and convert Youtube video to MP3---Just with one click
Download and convert Youtube video to MP3---Just with one click
Last week, when wandering around the Youtube watch.com, I was enthralled with the theme song of "Lost", especially the words of the song "I found out, on the corner of first and amistad, where the west was all but won all weeklong, smoking his last cigarette, I said: "Where you been?" He said: "ask anything.""......"
I couldn’t help expecting to save this song to my personal players. What a delightful thing listening to the song while walking or waiting for a bus! Okay, do you have the same experience as me? When hearing an exciting speech or dialogue, are you thirsty for downloading them and saving as your best memory?
Download, convert Youtube to mp3?—yes, you can.
Anna, one of my best friends, has posed a question "I have a Mac notebook and I only need the audio (mp3 music) of a certain Youtube movie, what shall I do?" The solution to the problem is shown as below:
Step one: Install a Youtube Converter for Mac as follows:
Step two: import the URL of Youtube video (or batches of URL) you wanna convert using "Add URL" icon. Select output format like audio (MP3) by "Settings" and customize your output file path with "Browse".
Step three: If you want your output audio much better, you can set the audio resolution like Bit Rate, Channels or Sample Rate presented in the following picture.
Step four: Click "Ok” button, it automatically download and convert your youtube videos simultaneously. After a few minutes, you can get the desirable audio (mp3) you want and enjoy it on any portable devices.
Download, convert Youtube videos to iPod, iPhone, iPhone 3Gs, PSP, Creative Zen, Zune, iRiver, and etc. --- done by one click.
Generally, if you want to download a Youtube video and then convert them to MP3 for your mobile devices, you need two Youtube tools: Youtube Downloader and Youtube Converter. But, now, with Pavtube Youtube Converter for Mac, you can both download and convert massive videos by clicking one "Ok" button.
Now, all the best, you can enjoy versatile Youtube music at a waiting room, on a bus, traveling, walking around the park or lying on your bed..Youtube's ToU specifically state that downloads of any content is prohibited unless there is a download button available for a particular video.

Photoshop CS3 crashes when importing video frames to layers.
This is perhaps not the correct place to post this, but I am new to the forums, as you can see.
I saw that there was a post about this sometime last year, and I tried all the methods offered to fix the problem, but none helped.
Each time I make an attempt to import video frames to layers, I get as far as the "select range to import" screen, and then when I select the range and click ok, it says "Adobe Photoshop has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly." And then it closes.
My operating system is Windows XP, the photoshop type I use is CS3 as I mentioned before, and I have installed Quicktime 7.3.5.
I checked one of the files I tried to use with the Mediainfo program as suggested, and got the following:
Format: MPEG-4
Format profile: Quicktime
Codec ID: qt
File size: 176 MiB
Duration: 18mn 33s
Overall bit rate: 1 327 Kbps
Writing application: Lavf53.24.2
Hopefully this is enough information for someone out there to help me, because I haven't the slightest idea how to fix it. Thank you in advance.Convert the file in ffmpeg/ MPEGStreamclip or another tool or export it from Quicktime Pro using anotehr CoDec. PS just sucks at dealing with these compressed files and using such an old version doesn't help with contemporary digital video from a camera...

Error Importing Video Frames to Layers in Photoshop CC
I'm trying to import video frames to layers in Photoshop CC, the most recent edition. I'm using a Mac OS X Maverick version 10.9.2.
The video I'm working with is a .mov file with the following codecs: Timecode, Linear PCM, CEA 708, Apple ProRes 422 (HQ).
When I import frames to layers, the window is black. *Note: The audio works here, picture does not appear.
When I select OK, the layers are transparent.
This issue is specific to Photoshop CC. I tested the same .mov file with the same codecs in the most recent edition of Photoshop CS6, and import video frames to layers worked successfully.
I also tested the same .mov file using another user's computer and their edition of Photoshop CC, and experienced the same issue - black screen, transparent frames.
This leads me to believe it is an issue specific to the Photoshop CC software.
Is there a fix for this, or do you have recommendations on ways to convert the .mov file so it's viewable in Photoshop CC?
Thank you for your help.http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop

Given an entry in /dev/rmt, how do you programmatically get its LUN ID and target ID? It shows up in dmesg's output but I'm wondering if there's a call to uSCSI to get in. Under Linux, you can use ioctl(fd, SG_GET_SCSI_ID, &info) to get it. Thanks, Q
