Convert Indesign CC 2014 file to V9 file format.

How do you convert the file created in InDesign CC2014 to the format that Indesign V9 can read?
I tried “[Save As…]” in Indesign CC 2014, but non of the format shown in output format is for Indesign V9 compatible.

You have three file format options with "Save As". One is for "IDML".
Or "Export to IDML". Quite the same.
You can open an IDML file with InDesign CS4 and above…

move that value to a type WRBTR variable
and use write statement.
data v_wrbtr type wrbtr.
data v_char(20).
v_wrbtr = 1000.
write v_wrbtr to v_char.
v_char will contain the amount in user format.
Prerequsite, go to SU3 transaction.
Defaults tab, chose the decimal notation .

Bridge CC is not showing Indesign CC 2014 file previews

Bridge CC is not showing previews of InDesign CC 2014. I don't see an update for Bridge anywhere. What am I missing?

Not sure if it's the issue or if it will help, but you could try purging the cache, etc..

Purging the thumbnail cache can help if Adobe Bridge is not displaying thumbnails properly. Adobe Bridge re-creates the thumbnail cache when it starts.
Reset Standard Workspaces
Returns Adobe predefined workspaces to their factory default configurations.
Click OK, or click Cancel to open Adobe Bridge without resetting preferences.
If that does not help, you may try searching the Bridge forum or asking there.

To convert VHD format, you can also use Convert-VHD comlet. The Convert-VHD cmdlet converts a virtual hard disk file by copying the data from a source virtual hard disk file to a new virtual hard disk file of a specified format and version type. The format
is determined by the file extension of the specified files, either .vhdx or .vhd. Conversion is an offline operation; the virtual hard disk must not be attached when the operation is started.

Converting library to new file format without losing data

I want to convert my library to a standardized file format, but I don't want to lose the data (play counts, playlists, etc.) that are associated with the current files. Is there any way to convert my AAC files (what my library is currently using) to MP3 files (the format I want them to be) while retaining my play counts, etc?

It seems the only problem I'm really having is getting voice memos on my iPhone to transfer to the new iMac / iTunes. I've fully synced the device but the voice memos do not appear in the music folder after syncing, even though I've checked 'Include voice memos' on the 'Sync Music' tab of the iPhone device. The are on the iPhone and I can play them still.
In fact, now the 'Voice Memos' app that comes native with iPhone will no longer record after syncing to the new iMac... I'm totally confused by what's happening!

Convert FrameMaker to PDF file format called from Java

I need to convert a FrameMaker file to PDF format using a Java plugin program (Windows environment). Is there a way to do it by calling a routine in FrameMaker or Adobe from a Java program that would lets say provide a path+file name (FrameMaker v8.0 or before) and expect a path+file name (PDF)?
Any information would be great!
We are currently upgrading our EMC Documentum from 5.2.1 to 5.3.6 and the Content Transformation Service that was doing it builtin before is not doing it anymore for FrameMaker files. They provided us with plugin tools to create one in Java.

You could use Java to call a command line routine like Datazone's

Saving previously converted InDesign CS1 files in CS3

My company recently upgraded from CS1 to CS3 (skipping CS2 altogether). I've noticed that after I open some CS1 layouts previously converted to CS3, when I hit <Save>, I get a <Save As> type dialog box where I either have to rename the file, or overwrite the file. This doesn't happen with layout files created originally in CS3. Is there some setting in CS3 that is constantly forcing this <Save As> type behavior on previously converted CS1 layouts? It's more of an inconvenience, than an actual problem, but annoying nonetheless.

I understand converting/re-writing the file format to the updated (in this case, CS3) format, and am well used to this process from older InDesign file formats. What I'm experiencing is this: (1) I open up a CS1 layout file in CS3; (2) CS3 converts the layout; (3) I go to Save the file & CS3 prompts me with a <Save As> type dialog box; (4) I then either overwrite the existing CS1 layout file, rename the new CS3 layout or save it to a new location; (5) I close out the new CS3 layout. This is all expected behavior. However, when I go back later to re-open the newly "converted" CS3 layout file, the first time I go to <Save> the new changes to the file, I'm AGAIN prompted with a <Save As> type dialog. The file's already been converted to the CS3 format, so shouldn't it just automatically <Save> the file changes in a normal manner?

To convert a song's file format:
Open iTunes Preferences.
Windows: Choose Edit > Preferences.
Mac: Choose iTunes > Preferences.
Click the General button, then click the Importing Settings button in the second section of the window.
From the Import Using pop-up menu, choose the encoding format that you want to convert the song to, then click OK to save the settings.
Select one or more songs in your library, then from the Advanced menu, choose one of the following (The menu item changes to show what's selected in your Importing preferences):
Create MP3 version
Create AAC version
Create AIFF version
Create WAV version
Create Apple Lossless version
If you haven't imported some songs into iTunes yet, you can import and convert them at the same time. This will create a converted copy of the file in your iTunes Library based on your iTunes preferences. To convert all the songs in a folder or on a disk, hold down the Option key (Mac) or Shift key (Windows) and choose Advanced > ConvertImport preference setting. The Import preference setting will match what you chose in step 3. iTunes will prompt you for the location of the folder or disk you want to import and convert. All the songs in the folder or on the disk will be converted. Note: Some purchased songs are encoded using a protected AAC format that prevents them from being converted. iTunes Plus purchases are not protected and can be converted.
The song in its original format and the newly converted song appear in your library.

I am under a deadine for a presentation in 8 hours -
My problem is thet a person made a montage from photos and saved it as .MOV file format and the presentation is going to be made on a flat screen TV from a USB mem card or thumb drive -
first problem was card was FAT32 formatted - and I think I understand that for a 5GB file size that ExFAT is required and XP with patches or Windows 7 and Mac OS read this format so not a problem to format USB to be ExFAT - but the TV needs AVI or a MPx format
suggestions???
