Convert into Number

Hi all,
I have a value 000006009,70 in the source xml. I want to insert this into a database table column which has datatype "NUMBER". The values should be inserted as 6009.70
I have tried using conversion function "number". But it is not working and giving the following error message.

Hi,
you can use 'xsl:decimal-format' and 'format-number' in your XSL transformation.
For example:
<xsl:decimal-format name="someName" decimal-separator="." grouping-separator=","/>
<xsl:value-of select="format-number(<your number>, '#.00', 'someName')"/>

Declare the field as NUMC, and if you do not see the prefix zero, then call this func.module

This will prefix itab-num with zeroes upto the total length of the field.

I have a table with a column which is a vaarchar2(60). I have a CSV file in which, I have stored value as 77052512125510000, but it got converted into 7.71E16. And when I have stored the same in the database, it got saved as 7.71E16. How can I get the original value

Convert VARCHAR2 into NUMBER

I am having trouble in converting the variable.
My original variable is as VARCHAR2. It has database value of
100-1050-10101-001. How do I convert this into NUMBER data type?

Converting boolean into number

How to convert a boolean button into the number that i wanted?
For example,
i have 3 boolean button,when the first button pressed, number 1 will show up, second button -> number 3, last button -> number 4
i have tried to use boolean array into number, but the number that show up was not like what i have expected

ALV QUANTITY field Geting converted into decimals ?

I have developed an alv report .In that the quantity field is made editable after editing the quantity when i save it .It gets converted into decimals.Suppose if i give 77 its getting reflected as .077 all the field name ,table name ,reference field name, reference table name, quantity field data type has been passed but the problem persists.If there is any one whos has come across this kind of scenario please share your thoughts on this.

Following is the procedure to convert alv output to spool and then it to PDF Format.
After we display the ALV, we can check whether it is running in the background using system field u2018sy-batchu2018. Then,we call an function module named u2018GET_JOB_RUNTIME_INFOu2019 to get the current job information. Then go to spool request table tbtcp to get the spool id.

Problem in converting into upper case urgent

hi,
i working on module pool program.
in the initial screen there is two fields one is number one is name.
if i enter the name in the name field it is automatically converting into upper case,
but in this case my select query is not working,how to solve this,i mean i have to take same as it is what i entered.

in the Report to handle like this situation.. we use the extentions to the parameter as LOWER CASE .
parameters p_t type char10 LOWER CASE .
i think in the Module pool also.. we can do this in Properties of the FIELD... once check the Properties of the field... there could be a chance.

Problem in converting into PDF

HI,
I need to convert data in PDF format but i am facing problem in it.
i have used 2 methods,
1. i used job_open,job_submit,job_close,BP_JOB_READ to submit job and CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to convert into pdf format. it is working fine in this case.
2. But when i use SUBMIT program with USING SELECTION-SCREEN 'xxxx' WITH selcrit2 IN 'xxxx'.. and then spool which created i used in FM CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF , it is not converting even though same exporting and importing parameters are passed in this as in above.

Hi,
First check whether the spool request is working fine or not by just execute any PO or sales order or any print view and from the menu give print there by you will get the spool number, make a note of the spool number.
Go to SE38 and enter the program RSTXPDF4 and execute it will ask for the spool number give the spool number noted earlier and if PDF format is coming means you have some error while configureing the SP01.

Payslips to be converted into individual PDF file&sent to email of employee

Dear Friends,
My client wants that the Payslips generated by Transaction- PC00_M40_CEDT, to be converted into separate individual PDF files based on Personnel Numbers, and sent to their Individual Email Ids as maintained in Infotype - 0105.
There should be no printing of payslips from hereon at the client.
Need some help and guidance, regarding the details for it. Where to start and what needs to be implemented to get the above required objective. We are using Z layouts for Remuneration statements.

      Please make use of program RSTXPDFT4 which converts list output to PDF
      format. You need to give spool number as input parameter which you can get
      from SP01 transaction.
      This doesn't fulfill your exact requirement but you can achieve conversion of
      output to PDF format.

Essbase 9.3 Calc scripts. Pb with dates. How to convert (string = number) ?

I've a problem with Essbase(Planning?) Scripts on version 9.3. It looks simple but I do not find any (clean) solution :
On my Essbase database, I have a member called "Reference_Date" on my axis Indicators. It is a date data type, that is to say, it displays a number corresponding to a YYYYMMDD format. For example : 20091029 for October 29th 2009.
In calc scripts I often need to compare the month included in that "Reference_Date" with the current Member of my Time Axis (I have 12 Months members based on the format M02 for February for example). The final aim is to calculate a number of complete years since that "Reference_Date".
But theses two elements are not of the same "type" (one is a number value and the other is a "member" in Time Axis). So I'm forced to convert one of this two elements in order to compare it.
For example I can extract the month value of the "Reference_Date"' and put an "M" before it to have a Time member equivalent or I can convert the member Name M10 to a number (10))
in both cases I have the same type problem : I don't know how to convert a string into a number nor how to convert a number into a string.
(For example @CONCATENATE doesn't work with numbers). and that my only remaining problem.
I didn't find any Essbase Function which do this (conversion number <=>string).
Is anyone have an Idea ?

I don't know any way for you to compare your data against your metadata. Not directly. To me it makes little enough sense to try that I'm not surprised the developers didn't provide for it.
I've converted member names to strings, manipulated the strings (calc script functions are not good at this), and turned them back into member names, but that's really the only use I've had for string manipulation. I don't think an equivalency operator even exists for string data. And I see no way to begin thinking of a member name, once converted to a string, as a number.
It makes even less sense to me to try thinking of a data value as a string. Even text values in Sys 11 are stored as numbers. Not encoded characters, but just a number to look up somewhere.
I think you can do what you want though, with something like this...
