Convert logo from c/s to web

We had our company logo converted by a third party to a windows true type font which we use in some client/server reports.
What is the best way to convert this to web reports (currently 6i on Solaris) ? Do I nedd a unix font or a java font or would I be better off using an image ? If I use an image, what is the best format, and would it be possible to adjust the size ?

We experienced something like this even before the web age. A logo that was created as a font on Windows had to be converted to a font on VMS. Problems...
With an image (jpeg or something like that) you usually cannot resize without getting an ugly logo. You may choose to have have several optimized image files for several logo sizes. Another option may be to convert the font to cgm format, which is scalable and supported by reports.

  • Converting logo from CMYK to PMS SPOT

    Hello everybody was wondering if you could lend a hand.
    I have a logo that i wish to conver to pms spot colour as that is what the artwork requirement is, it is currently in CMYK.
    I am currently using cs5.
    Edit, Edit Colours,Recolour artwork,  then i am going to colour books and choosing panatone solid coated.
    Now it recolours 80% of the logo but leaves some panels as cmyk. I have come across this on different occasions before.
    Is it somthing to do with clipping masks? I  hope some Illustrator genius can point me in the right direction.
    Cheers

    As Monika said, your eps file contains raster images. They were most likely created when the original .ai file was saved as .eps which doesn't support all native .ai features. Recolor Artwork dosn't work with raster images. The best solution is if you have the original .ai file and use it to convert to Pantone colors there.
    In case this is not an option you can convert the raster images in your file to grayscale and tell the printer to print the black plate with Pantone Black spot color.
    To find the raster images in your .eps file, open the Links panel from the Window Menu and you will see all raster images listed. To isolate them, Shift click on the first and last on the list to highlight all of them and then from the menu of the Links panel choose Go To Link. This will select all raster image objects. Press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+3 to hide all others and now you have only the raster images displayed.
    Also, to make it practical reduce the logo to 3 spot colors blue, red and black. You can use Windows > Separation Preview to check the color separations.

  • Converted internalServerReporting from .php to .cfm

    I posted this on the general discussion forum but it doesn't seem to be getting any looks....
    Hi
    I recently converted the internalServerReporting.php file to .cfm, since I'm not yet using a LMS and I just needed to capture quiz results.
    I'm writing the results of my Captivate 7 quiz to a .txt file successfully (an insert query too). My Captivate 7 quiz completes and immediately after the user fills out and clicks the Send button in the Post Results dialog box (where they enter their name and email id) I get an Adobe Captivate error message in a dialog box with "Unknown Error" and an OK button.
    I think this is a Captivate error and not a Coldfusion error, as my Coldfusion "internalServerReporting.cfm" writes the text file as expected, and the Coldfusion server error logs are empty. Does anyone know how I can turn on/enable any available debugging data in Captivate so that I can trap this error?
    For your convenience my .cfm file is pasted below.
    Thanks in advance for your help,

    ...jeez, what a rookie mistake....
    I did some debugging and found this reported error in my browser (Chrome):
    XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://127.0.0.1:8503/captivate/internalServerReporting.cfm. No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'null' is therefore not allowed access.
    From my years of web development I immediately recognized this error; it's a cross domain issue. But, I'm running everything localhost, what's not in the same dom.... Oh yeah, right after publishing the Captivate movie a dialog box appears "Publish was successful. Do you wish to view the output?" Naturally I clicked yes, which opened the .html file locally in my browser (as in File:Open) and NOT served from the web server (as in http://127.0.0.1/myCaptivateTest/).
    As soon as I ran my Captivate test movie from the web server everything ran just fine.
    Thanks for your help and patience. This script officially now works, so if anyone needs to record Captivate test/quiz results on a Coldfusion server, feel free to copy the above Coldfusion code into your own "internalServerReporting.cfm" and tell Captivate in your preferences where to expect it on your Coldfusion server.

  • How can i convert data from DBF to oracle database 10g?

    Sir,
    How can i convert data from DBF to oracle database 10g?

    I assume you at least know how to dump the contents of foxpro dbf file into CSV format.
    Regarding SQL*Loader, hope this demo makes it a bit clear to you...
    http://www.princeton.edu/~storacle/sqlloader_demo.shtml
    I agree that it is an old web page (references Oracle 8.0.5) but basics remain the same.
    If it is still unclear to you after referring above link, then get an Oracle consultant.

  • "Convert file from:" error box

    Every time I click on a PDF file to download, the downloads window comes up and shows the download progress, and when the download finishes, a box appears that says "Convert File". In the box it says: Convert file from: then it lists various file types i.e., Text only, MS-DOS Text, Rich Text Format, HTML Document, Single File Web Page, Unicode Text and many more. It is trying to open a PDF file in Microsoft Word. I can't figure out how to change this. Help please?!

    That does not sound like Safari behavior. Are you using Safari to download, or another browser such as FireFox?
    Edit: Actually, I re-read what you wrote and saw that you said it was trying to open using MS Word. So I think the "convert file" message is coming from Word.
    Therefore, I think you have .pdf files currently set to open using MS Word. So after Safari completes the download, it is handing it off to MS Word to open, and MS Words is running and asking how to convert it to one of the formats Word supports.
    If the above sounds reasonable based on a lot of assumptions I made, you can try the following. First show any PDF file you already have in a Finder window. Right (Control) click on it, and select +Get Into+. In the Info window, look for +Open with+. In that section, if it currently set to open using Word, select either Preview (default setting) or +Adobe Reader+. Then, click the button below that setting that says +Change All+. This should change the setting so that all PDF files open with whatever app you selected that is not Word.

  • Error from Full client to WEBI?

    Hi Senior members..
    I stuck with a issue..
    Actually i converted some deski reports 6.5 to webi XI R3 using report conversion tool..!!
    But some of them are partially converted with the following error log..
    a) Partially Converted: Desktop Intelligence block filter cannot be migrated into a Web Intelligence block filter
    b) Partially Converted: Multiple groups not available in Web Intelligence charts
    c) Partially Converted: Objects cannot be hidden in Web Intelligence documents..
    Could you please help me out to get rid of this issue

    Hi,
    these are features which are, currently, not supported in Webi. Possible Workarrounds:
    1. Create a Report or Query Filter
    2. Use multiple charts
    3. Remove the Object from the Report or unhide it

  • Is it necessary to convert photos from RBG to CMYK if you are just printing at home?

    I am new to the creative suite, and I am using InDesign for a class presentation. I was told I should convert any photoshop images that I use from RGB to CMYK for printing, but I am just printing it at home on my little deskjet.
    Second question: If it IS necessary, why do I get a alert in photoshop saying "You are about to convert to CMYK using 'U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2' profile. This may not ve what you intend." What does this mean and should I just ignore it?
    Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

    The advice you got was specifically for sending a project to a CMYK printing press. Converting to CMYK has been the traditional requirement for those jobs, from the era when most images were printed and most printed images went to a CMYK press.
    But it's been many years since that was true. Some InDesign workflows can use RGB images if you set up InDesign to do the conversion to CMYK at output, or if the digital press will be doing the conversion. A lot of digital home printers and newer digital printing presses are set up to work with RGB images. For example, you don't send CMYK images to the lab to have printed enlargements and photo books made, you send RGB. As far as your home inkjet goes, it uses different ink colors than U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) CMYK (some printers use six inks or more), so converting to CMYK wouldn't even match up properly with the inks being used.
    That's the reason you see the alert message. It's no longer a world where you convert all images to CMYK to print, so Photoshop is making sure it's something you actually need to do. Because if you convert to CMYK when you don't need to, your images will look worse because CMYK doesn't provide as many colors as RGB.

    No, you would have to recreate it in FormsCentral.

  • Converting Webutil from 10g to 6i.

    hi,
    I'm trying to convert webutil from 10g to 6i. Coz i need to give some facility of FTP.
    i'm able to change all the packages. But few packages like JAVA*, are not able to compile. it is giving error, some JNI. How to resolve this?
    Regards,
    Subir

    I will assume your application is deployed in a browser and not client/server in order to form my comments.
    Rather than trying to get WebUtil working in 6i, it would probably be simpler to just do what WebUtil does and write your own java bean. You can use the WebUtil code as an example. The important thing to remember is that WebUtil was designed with JDK 1.3.1.x and Forms 6i is based on 1.2 and older therefore you cannot just simply copy the WebUtil code and expect it to compile.

    I am trying to execute GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION service using RIDC and web service client call.
    I dont see HTML content is coming as the result of GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION service.
    Would you please guide me in getting HTML converted document from external application.
    Please let me know, if you need additional details.
    Thank you in advance

    Hi Srinath,
    I have tried your response. Still i am getting hda data only, not HTML content.
    GET_DYNAMIC_URL service with fileUrl attribute is returning HTML content from UCM GUI (browser) but not from RIDC.
    Code i tried is:
    DataBinder dataBinder = idcClient.createBinder();
              dataBinder.putLocal("IdcService", "GET_DYNAMIC_CONVERSION");
              //dataBinder.putLocal("dID","1832");
              dataBinder.putLocal("dDocName","ECMPS5_002024");
              dataBinder.putLocal("IsJava","0");
              dataBinder.putLocal("RevisionSelectionMethod","LatestReleased");
              dataBinder.putLocal("DCViewFormat","WebViewable");
              // execute the request
              ServiceResponse response = idcClient.sendRequest (userPasswordContext, dataBinder);
    InputStream istream=response.getResponseStream();
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(istream);
    BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
    String line = null;
    while ( (line = br.readLine()) != null)
    System.out.println(line);

  • How do I convert pics from old Adobe Photoshop program on cd in pdd to jpeg?

    I have cds with pdd pics from my old (1999) Adobe Photoshop program.  My system won't open them.  I now have Photoshop Elements 8.  I can go to Organize and get photos from the cd.  They are in my catalog and I can open them there.
    How do I convert them to jpeg?
    When I go to Edit, I can't find my photos in the catalog.  I only find the new pics in my Photo Gallery that are already jpeg.
    I feel as though I'm missing something simple.  Can someone help me?

    Thanks for your response.  I did get a way to do it with the software I already have.

    Subject: How do I convert pics from old Adobe Photoshop program on cd in pdd to jpeg?
    There's a utility called "Image Converter Plus" that can do this for you.  They modestly calls it "the best image converter in the industry.  You can see their web site at:  http://www.imageconverterplus.com/help-center/work-with-icp/examples/how-to-convert/PDD_jp g.html .
    Here's from their web site:
    h1. How to convert PDD to JPG
    Converting PDD to JPG is very easy with Image Converter Plus. In Windows Explorer, select a PDD image and click your right mouse button. In the context menu, select Convert to submenu and click Custom convert line.
    ==========
    This seems to be exactly what you want.
    Since they have a separate "download" and "purchase" section, it's not clear to me if you have to pay the $49 license fee to use the utility.  You may have to purchase the license to get batch processing.
    Even if you do have to pay, my philosophy in life is that if someone can rescue some important pictures with their $49 utility, then it's worth the price.

  • When creating new webpart page not getting logo from the masterpage

    Hi
    when I am going to creating new page.aspx then it inheriting  the logo from the  master page
     BUT i AM GOING TO CREATING NEW WEB PART PAGE.ASPX  THAT IS NOT GETTING THE LOGO FROM THE MASTER PAGE  HOW CAN I SOLVE THIS PROBLEM

    In a Publishing environment there are two master pages.  One is used for all the pages stored in the pages document library.  Those pages use the Site Master master page.  Other pages, like web part pages, use the System Master page.  If
    you go to the Site Settings you will see a link called Master Pages in the Look and Feel section.  When you click on that link you will see a page where you can choose which master page to use for the Site Master and the System master.  I suspect
    you are using a custom master with a logo for the Site master and a different master for the System master.  You can try setting the System master to be the same as the site master or make sure that your logo is also included on the System master.

    Eric,
    these applications are applogics which are not controlled by the
    iasdeploy tool. Unfortunately, there is no tool available to remove
    these applications for you. What you can do is to manually remove all
    their entries, but be careful if you do that. If you remove the wrong
    keys you might break your ias installation, so be warned and make sure
    you backup the whole ias registry before attempting to remove anything.
