  • From MPEG2 with StreamClip to iMovieHD6

    Dear community,
    I need some help.
I know that I need to use MPEGStreamClip for converting mpeg2 to .dv and then import them with iMovieHD6.
I have already done it several times, but I can't figure out which are the best settings in StreamClip as I found out I have different qualities (but I can't remember which settings I used on each).
Basically, there are two ways of exporting to .dv on the File menu:
    1) Export to .dv..
    2) Export to Other Formats
    Which one should I use?
Moreover, should I use DV25, DVCPRO25 or DVCPRO50? With the latter iMovie cannot put transitions (well it can but the video has funny h-lines).
Moreover, should I resample the audio to 48kHz? What other settings should I fix?
In case it is important, I import videos in MPEG2 format, 16:9, high quality NTCS from a Sony DCR-SR200.
Tnx a lot for your help.
    Marco

    Export to DV..., DV25, 48kHz audio, PAL/NTSC, 4:3/16:9.

  • Anyone familiar with STREAMCLIP as a means of CONVERTING dvd to QT?

A nice little bit of software that I've used successfully in the past to convert a 90 minute dvd to a quicktime that I was then able to import into fcp and edit with...
I've hit a snag recently trying to import dvd material from a client that is a subtitled film...
I'm able to do the conversion, but the subtitles don't come across....
The client has already supplied me w/the untexted version of the film, I'm needing the subtitled version to edit with and a deadline is looming...
    Anyone?

TimeKoder -- what problems have you run into with StreamClip --? It seems to do it all....and yeah, the price is right....
I'm having trouble converting back to qt from this one particular dvd.....
I don't have much confidence in the dvd itself....it's a film about to be released as a commercial dvd....seems the disc itself maybe a bit 'beta'.... Streamclip gets hung up at the same point of the conversion and what it is able to convert doesn't have subtitles...
    Most peculiar....

  • Convert mpeg2 to mpeg4?

    Hello all,
I bought a Hitachi DZ-GX3200 DVD camcorder a while back, before I purchased my new iMac. The Hitachi camcorder unfortunately only has a USB connection. I found a way around this by installing the software that comes with the camera, which has allowed me to save videos to my hard disk. However, the videos are in MPEG2 format, and iMovieHD won't import them. And that is where I'm stuck right now.
Do you know of any software that would allow me to convert MPEG2 files to MPEG4? Alternatively, can you think of any other suggestions (aside from buying a new camera -- I dropped 700 bucks on this thing 6 months ago ) that might help me? I'd really appreciate it.

    More info about MPEG Streamclip.
Muxed file formats (MPEG 1 and 2 and Flash) have all the audio and video "tracks" inside a single file. QuickTime (and Apple's "i" apps) can't extract the audio portion of these formats. MPEG Streamclip can extract all the tracks and convert them to DV Stream (.dv) which is the format used by iMovie.

Hi,  I've just purchased and installed an upgrade from Lightroom 4 to 5.  It doesn't seem to handle raw files authored with a new Nikon D750 camera.  I spoke to the sales rep about this and he gave me a link to the 8.6 DNG converter page with instructions to download.  8.6 only works with Mac OS 10.7-10.9, according to the page.  I'm running Yosemite, Mac 10.10.  Please can you tell me my options?  Lightroom 4 worked beautifully with my older cameras' raw files so I would like to continue using the application.  What should I do?  How soon will Lightroom 5 be able to deal with raw files from a D750.  Many thanks, Adam.

Until the next version of Lightroom is released, you need to use the DNG Converter version 8.7RC to convert your RAW photos to DNG and then import the DNGs into Lightroom.

This is good for me but what happened?
I don't understand the question...  Did something happen that you think should not have happened?
It took such a long time to sync, because iTunes was converting songs with bit-rate higher than 128 kbps "on the fly" while syncing.  That takes much longer than just syncing the songs.
Also, since you have so much space on your iPod (compared to the size of your music library), you should not use that "convert to 128 kbps AAC" setting.  For songs that are encoded higher than 128 kbps, the conversion reduces sound quality.  You may want to uncheck Sync Music and Apply, to remove the songs on the iPod currently, and then sync it all again without the "convert" setting checked this time.

    English (US)
    English (UK)

  • Exporting to mpeg2 with audio

Trying to export to MPEG2 with audio from fcp studio to broadcast over cable, anyone know how to do this.

So, you need a muxed file? You may need to buy Sorenson Squeeze and check the station for the exact settings or the web for settings files. (i.e. I found a Fast Channel setting online somewhere)

  • Sync problem converting videos with SU

Hi there. I have owned my Creative Zen Vision:m 30gig player for about 2 weeks now. So far I have really come to love this device. I have learned how to put album art on all my favourite albums with ?Album Art Downloader? and I am using Media Monkey to manage and sync my mp3 files from my pc to my Vision:m. I have even loaded all my photos onto the player and bought the accessories pack so that I can hook it up to my television ? it works perfectly.
My last challenge (so far) was to figure out how to make this video thing work as I have about 00 videos which I have downloaded from Google video via a plugin for Mozilla Firefox called ?Video Downloader ?. The videos from Google video are encoded into something called a .flv file. I have done A LOT of reading here and other places on how to convert the various formats into formats the player can understand. Apparently the program ?Super? is THE thing for converting almost anything into well anything. I tried it and found out I could select ALL of my videos and select a common setting for them all to be encoded into. My first reaction?. sweeeeeet! The videos did not seem to have lost much quality and when I loaded them to the player, it would play them nicely? or so I thought.
It did however slowly but inevitably become clear to me that despite my most fierce attempts of denial? there was a sync problem with the audio. Not a huge annoyance but still an annoyance, something which I knew I couldn?t li've with. I therefore rushed to the program and tried to shuffle the settings a bit, changed the codecs changed the containers but nothing would work. The sound sync problem would still be there, lurking. The problem was also present when converting high quality xvid movies.
This is where my creativity and patience has come to an end. This is where I give up and crawl to you begging for help. I in order for you to help me, I will try to help YOU recreate my scenario.
I have a video, perhaps a little morbid, where the sync problem is very obvious after you have converted it with super, here is the link http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7233445036972827652
I use a plugin for Firefox to download videos from Youtube, Google video, etc. called ?Video Downloader?, here?s the link
    https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2390/
The settings I use for Super are the following:
Output Container: Avi (For Pocket Pc)
    Output Video Codec: Mpeg4
    Video Scale Size: 320*240
    Frame/Sec: 25
    Bitrate: 336
    Hi Quality: ?Checked?
    Stretch It: ?Checked?
    Sampling Freq: 22050
    Bitrate kbps: 28
Ok if you manage to download the clip from google video (easy) AND convert with Super into a format fitting for the Zen Vision:m without the sync problem? well my joy will break any ?happy-meter? out there
Ps. I did actually find a way to fix the sync problem, I checked the ?Directshow? for the ffmpeg but the picture was sort of lagging and looking REALLY ugly so that actually created a problem much worse than the previous one.
Thank you for your time and patience

I am not sure I can help you but I do have one pice of information. The sync problems arise from converting to the wrong frame rate. If you can choose the frame rate for the videos you convert to then you can test different rates and find the right rate. Keep in mind that there is currently no way to determine the approiate frome rate without teting it.

  • Converting mail with attachments to PDF

I was used to archive mail in Outlook to PDF (using Adobe Acrobat).
Now I want to convert mail with attachments from Apple mail to PDF, but the attachments are only converted as icons and not readable anymore. Is there a plugin or anything else to solve my problem?

What are you expecting? An attachment cannot be converted to a PDF file unless you open it in an application that is capable of saving it in PDF format. And any attachments you convert to PDF would be separate from the actual email itself, which would be a different PDF file.

  • Does the magsafe 2 converter work with with the 13in MacBook Pro(2012)?

i was just wondering if the MagSafe 2 Converter worked with the 13" MacBook Pro(2012)

The spec's page only say "MagSafe power port" - doesn't specify if it's the original or the newer '2'. The Retina spec's a MagSafe 2...
I guess you'll just have to wait until someone with a 2012 non-Retina MBP comes along...

  • Converting reports with personal dataprovider

    Hi,
We have a migration from 6.5 towards XI 3 and are trying to convert our personal documents (all .rep) in webi reports.
A lot of our personal reports are containing freehand sql and external dataproviders (mostly excel files). To convert the reports containing freehand sql we have found a workaround, by creating some extrernal tables in a seperate universe that we use to run the freehand sql and store the results in a table.
The reports containing external dataproviders have however some other problems: Can they be migrated in the report conversion tool? We always get an internal conversion error when converting this documents...
Any ideas how this error can be bypassed (or solved)? Is there anyone who has experience in converting documents with personal dataproviders?
    Kind regards,
    Jorn

    Hi
Web Intelligence XI R2 does not support free-hand SQL. The Report
Conversion Tool converts free-hand SQL documents by creating universes
with derived tables that contain the free-hand SQL. Each free-hand SQL
query has a derived table. The report objects that were based on the freehand
SQL in the source report are based on the derived table in the Web
    Intelligence XI R2 report.
The Report Conversion Tool creates free-hand SQL universes in the Report
Conversion Tool Universes subfolder of the root universe folder in the
    CMS.
But there is o such workaround available for reports created on Personal Data Providers. The Report Conversion tool guide clearly states that you cannot convert a Deski Report based on Personal Data Provider to Webi.
However in BO XI 3.0 we have an option to create Webi reports directly using Personal Data Providers such as Excel or CSV. You can do it through Webi Rich Client.
    I hope this helps.
