Convert multi-page pdf to multi-page jpg files?

Hi,
My boss has asked me to convert a large number of multiple-page pdfs into multiple-page jpgs. I have been able to convert the pdfs to jpgs in photo shop using image processor, but the processor only captures the first page of the multiple page documents and when I have been able to convert an entire pdf to jpeg, it creates individual jpg files for each separate page.
How can I convert the multiple-page pdf file to a single multiple-page jpg file?
many thanks!

You have the right idea.
1.Make each page a jpg file. Pretend they are named Page 1, Page 2, etc.
2. Create a new file with a page size and res of your jpg files. Let's call this the Master file.
3, With the Master file appearing on your monitor:
4. Open Page 1. Click on it in the Layers Panel and drag it over the Master. It will become Layer 1 in the Master.
5..Repeat Step 4 until you have all the pages, as separate layers in the Master. (Layers 2, 3, etc,)
6. Save the Master file. It will be a psd file.
Check Google and learn how to create and use Photoshop Layer Comps. Trust me. It is not difficult.
Once completed, each time you strike the Forward symbol in the Layer Comps panel you will display the next page.
Yes, you can go Backward to see previous pages as you view them. too.

  • Converting multiple Pages 08 files to PDF

I need to convert many (nearly 500) Pages documents to PDFs because I can't find a commercial printing service that will do the conversion for me. Is there any way to do this en masse rather than going into each file and converting it individually?
    Thanks...

Have a look at Automator which is in your Applications folder.
This would also be a candidate for an AppleScript which you could write yourself or have an expert write for you. It would not be be complex so shouldn't cost much if anything at all.

  • Is there a way to convert an interactive PDF of photos into a file that plays like a video?

I have a PDF with music created through InDesign, but Acrobat only allows the pages to self-turn if played in full view mode.  This cannot work on a website. So, is there a way to convert this PDF into a "video" such that the pages turn automatically, like what Apple Iphoto does when you create an album or slideshow or book - it allows for a "video" of the imags to be created, with backdrop of music?

  • Multi page jpg

We received a jpg file that seems to gave 2 pages when you view it in Bridge.
When we open the file in Photoshop or link it in Indesign or Illustrator we only see the 1st page or view of the file.
I was very surprised to see this in Bridge, as far as I know it is not possible to even make a multi page jpg file.
Any of you know what is going on here?

The thumbnail image within the JPG could have been changed, this could have been done using ExifTool?
    exiftool "-thumbnailimage<=thumb.jpg" image.jpg

There are very few raster formats that support multi-page. The only one I can think of at the moment is Tiff which is a special fax format. In that mode I don't recall if it supports color or not. I know they were talking about adding color for the newer color fax machines. As you can tell that was years ago. So I would assume the tiff fax mode has improved by now.
Since tiff and psd support layers, you could place each page on its own layer, then leave it up to the program viewing the file to determine how to switch between layers to see each page. Yeah it is a work around, but is doable.
That said, I am not up to date on all the formats and what new features they contain. So I could easily be missing a format that could be of use to you.

  • Converting Pages PostScript file to PDF

Can someone with a similar setup test this Pages PS file technique out and see if you can do it?
This was a tip from a Pages User/Blogger, as a way to get truer color printing of a Pages doc when moving it from the 3-color screen version to a four color commercial printer. He suggested saving the Pages file as Postscript, and then using Apple Preview, open and convert the Postscript to a PDF. I can't open the PS file with Preview, and it fails in the conversion to PDF. I get an error message: couldn't convert to a PDF/Couldn't open the file.
I contacted the Blogger; he was surprised it fails, given the long time use of PS and PDF files. He suggested that I ask someone with a set-up similar to mine to try this, and help me determine if it's my computer or the software that's failing (or me!). I'm working on a G-5, with OS 10.4.8, and Pages 2.02.
(Note, I've also tried doing this through Adobe Distiller, and that doesn't work either. That it fails in Preview seems to say to me that it's not just a problem with the version or settings in Adobe PRo/Distiller, but perhaps with Pages?).
    Thanks!

It turned out that my two posted issues were related. The table on page one that was raising havoc with header and footers was also causing the PS to PDF conversion problems as well. I still have to resolve the table issue, but at least you helped me recognize where the printing issue was coming from!

  • Since buying Pages 5.2  can't open any Pages 09 files

Since purchasing and updating to Pages 5.2 I can't open any Pages 09 files.  Tried various things, nothing working.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5.2 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.2 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Older versions of Pages 5 can not open files from later versions of Pages 5.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud and opened in a newer version of Pages is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed almost 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

  • Convert multiple page pdf to multiple jpg

Hi, is there anyway of converting a multiple page pdf file in preview to multiple jpgs in one go? I've tried selecting all, but it still only converts one page into a jpg, when using the "save as" function. I'm currently having to convert each page in the file individually, which is rather time-consuming. If preview can't do it, is there any other software (preferably not too expensive) that can?
Many thanks for your help in advance

    juleshorst,
Ok Here is the best way I could find to take a PDF and make each page its own jepg image.
    1. Open (Automator) on the window that opens it asks for a starting point I would Select (Files & Folders) the big Finder image. For the settings on it I would select (my mac) and (Ask For Files & Folders when my workflow runs) from the drop down menus, that way you can save it and reuse it latter.
    2. I would drag the (PDF to images) automation under the (Ask for Finder Items) automation. To find said (PDF to images) you can either search for it or it can be found in the PDF section on the left.
    3. After which I would drag the (Change Type of Images) automation under the (PDF to images) automation, I would say Don't add to the (This action will change the image type ...... ect ect.....), and I would select (To Type (jpeg)) from the drop down menu. To find said (Change Type of Images) once again you can search in the search box or you can find it in the Photos section on the left.
    4. Run Automation, the button is located in the top right. Select the PDF you want to turn into jpeg pages and there you go.
I hope that this helped with your issue.

  • How to batch-convert 500 pdf pages into individual jpg files?

Does anybody know how I can convert 500 single-page pdf files . . . into individual jpeg (image) files?
They are all in the same hard drive folder (if that helps . . .)
    Thanks

Thank you so much . . . yes, the answer "staring me in the face".
    Great advice.
After combining the pdf files into a SINGLE document . . . I just selected "SAVE-AS" . . . and selected "jpg" as the format.
Acrobat automatically created 500 individual jpg files.
    Thanks again!

  • __Is there a way to make a multi-layer Ai file into a multi-page PDF? (1 layer per page)

__Is there a way to make a multi-layer Ai file into a multi-page PDF? (1 layer per page)
    thanks

    Definitely can be done.
In CS 4 you create an artboard for each page and the position the art for the corresponding page on the corresponding artboard and make a layer for that art. This way it does not even matter if the layer s are properly layered when saving the pdf. Just as long as the artboards are.
CS 3 and earlier  back a larger document that can be divided into whole pages by turning on tiling and using the page tool position that art.
Position the art for each page over the designated artboard make a layer for each pages art now when you export the with tiling on and you wll get a multi page pdf.

  • Multi-page .tif file attaches as  .jpg (1 page)

I've just changed from Entourage to Mail. I have multipage .tif files downloaded from Companies House. When I try to mail them as attachments Mail changes them to .jpg files which only have the first page of course. I can see that on the open email so it is not a Mac to Windows recipient problem.
When I resave as .pdf there is problem but that's unsatisfactory. Other files eg Word and Excel seem fine.
The solutions I've seen here seem to be the for the reverse problem.

    Save aas tif file.

  • Convert pdf pages to jpg files

How can I export all pages of a pdf to jpg files? Acrobat sucks because it doesn't anti alias text. In Photoshop I have to first open all pages of a pdf file into seperate image files. Then I have to save as jpg each file one by one. I can't think of a batch action cause it wouldn't know how many pages the pdf is. Indesign fails also: I can make a book file of all the individual indesign files, but it only exports the book file as one pdf. There isnt a save book as jpg files option.
Photoshop is my best option, but is there a way to let it export all pages of a pdf file to separate jpg files?

I can't think of a batch action cause it wouldn't know how many pages the pdf is.
You touch on a relevant matter there; the page-count information can even vary depending on the way a pdf was created.
Still a Script should be able to handle that, if need be by utilizing a try-clause.
So you could ask in the Photoshop Scripting Forum if no one else has a better idea.

  • Help converting pages document with images over to a 300 dpi jpg file

    Hi
I'm pretty new to using Pages.  I have created a 4 page Pages document with a lot of iphoto images.  It's for a elementary school yearbook.  The publisher ulitmately needs a 300 dpi jpg file.
How do I convert the pages document into a 300 dpi jpg?
I tried to convert it first to a pdf then to a 300 dpi jpg but when I sent that file over, they said that when they zoomed in, the images all looked blurry.
Any ideas on what to do without having to start all over again?  Worst case, I guess I can print out in best quality, scan and save as jpg but there's got to be an easier way.
I'm not a graphic designer, just trying to fuddle my way through so you'll have to go easy on me with the techno speak.  Any cliff notes for mac beginners?
Thanks much in advance for any help!

The conversion isn't perfect between Pages and Word. The same font is handle differently in the two applications and so are many other things too. If you are concerned about how it looks use Pdf versions instead.
