Is it possible to convert music videos to regular music files so that i can listen to them on my 2nd gen nano?

You need something like this(I'm NOT suggesting you use this particular software, just letting you know what you need):

Converting Music files to bookmarkable Audio Books.
It seems there are plenty of hacks out there but I have a real life and can't really be bothered with burning a CD with ACC files, etc. or anything else that takes more than half a minute. All I'd really like to do is highlight, click and drop the "music files" into the "Audio Book" library. Is there a simple way to do this? -And for that matter does Apple have a valid reason why this doesn't seem to be consumer friendly?

Thanks,-This looks like just what the Dr. ordered, :? (Oy, no smileys on this forum?!) Unfortunately I made the somewhat misguided decision a few years ago to buy a pc (+ the 2+ grand of software) -OK, long story short; I need the windows xp equivalent of this script and couldn't find it in any of the sub-links. -But full marks to you for effort!

  • How would i be able to convert music files, like wma to mp3 on my mac

how would i be able to convert music files, like wma to mp3 on my mac

If the music was just purchased on the iPod from iTunes Store, then sync with iTunes. You will be prompted to transfer purchased items to iTunes. You can also re-download prior purchases directly in iTunes: Download past purchases.
Otherwise, you will need a third-party utility for the chore such as Pod To Mac or Pod To PC.

  • Itunes not converting music files.

    i just don't understand itunes.
so when i installed itunes onto my computer so i could upload the music onto my slvr, it converted SOME of my previoud audio files that were in windows media player. but it didn't take them all, infact it took a little less than half. and i can't figure out how to get them on the itunes library.
i know i've probably overlooked a simple task but whatever. can someone please point out why i'm an idiot, and tell me how to do this?
    thanks.

  • Problem converting music file into aiff: 'empty' aiff file

I can't get on with my edit!! Problem: I try to convert a music file so I can use it in a sequence as background music. When I convert (export using quicktime conversion) the mp3 file into a aiff file (choosing bit depth 16 and 48000 khz) I can convert the file in an aiff file, but then, when I import this aif file and I want to listen to it, it doesn't contain any music, sound doesn't show up, as if it was empty (though shows 3 MB and right duration). What is going on here, what am I doing wrong??
    Please help!!

It's not DRM protected, not coming from Itunes store... In fact it worked before but I don't know why it doesn't now, following all FCE instructions... MartinR you're right, it works when converting directly in itunes and then importing into FCE.
    Thanks guys!

  • How do I convert music files so I can move this from laptop to iPhone?

I purchases some music from Buymusic.com that I have stored on my laptop in the Windows Media Player; the music files are .wpl - not sure what that means. When I attempt to move this music to my iPhone I get a message that indicates I have to convert the files. From iTunes I selected File, add file to library and I selected the artist from my play list. Am I doing this correctly or am I jacked up? This is where I'm told the files must be converted. I have over 200 songs I'm trying to move. Thanks,
PS - Not a technical person - all this computer stuff is new to me, so please give it to me in the simpliest form. Thanks.

Thanks a million for your suggestions, but I received the following message:
    File name:
    Betty Wright - 1 - Clean Up Woman (Single_LP Version).wma
    Source folder:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Quint\My Documents\My Music\
    Details:
Windows Audio Converter did not convert the file because the output file already existed, and the option to skip conversion if output file exists was selected.
This came up for all 200 songs.
Looking forward to any other suggestions you might have. You can also email me at [email protected]
    Thanks again,

  • IPod displays converted music files in movies?

I put some music files in a playlist in itunes.  when i sync my ipod the play list shows up empty.  i found the files in the movie link?

aac audio is the format, not the media kind.
Agai what is the media kind?
In iTunes on the computer right click on the items and select Get Info. In the Options tap what is listed in the Media Kind.
Is sounds like it is still coded as Movie/video and because of that it does not play.
Just how did you take them from the movie? Seems like that messed up.
Was it from a DRM (copy protected movie)

  • Converting music files

Hello, sorry if i posted this in the wrong section. this seemed like the best one. If I have a file that's 320 kbps bitrate, and I want to convert it to something lower like 192 so I can fit more music on my ipod, is there a program to do that? or is it on itunes?

You can do it directly from iTunes, although you should know that downconverting will probably not be as good of quality as the same bit rate converted off the original CD. At least in theory. But you will have to try it and see if you are happy with the results.
Anyway... When you right click a song, or a bunch of songs at the same time, you will get a menu item that will say "Convert to [xxx]" where [xxx] is whatever current encoding method you have set in iTunes. So for example, if you use MP3 is will say "Convert to MP3". If you have it set for 320 MP3, you can change the preferences for importing to 192 MP3.
Now right click one of your 320 MP3 tunes and pick the "Convert to MP3" option, which should now make a new version that is a 192 kbps version. Assuming that goes like you want. You can do this to more songs including a whole group of selected songs.
One thing to note is that the converted version will be a new copy and will not replace the old version. So if you want to delete the old version, you will have to select them and delete them.

  • How do I Convert Music Files to .Was or AIFF?

I want to burn a CD that will play on an regular CD player. How can I convert the file format of songs in my iTunes to a format that will work on such a CD player?

This is how you create audio CDs. If it's not working then there can be a few reasons why it's not.
burned the disk choosing "Audio CD" and the resulting CD would not play in a "regular" CD player.
Does this "regular CD player" play CD-R? Have you played other burned CDs in it?
Have you tried this burned CD in a different CD player? Pop it in a DVD player and see if it works.
Does this CD play in iTunes?
    Are there any other suggestions?
Try to burn at a slower speed.
    Try different discs.

  • Can't convert music file

I purchased a song on I-tunes that I want to import into my FCE HD project but am not able to convert to AIFF in order to do so. In I Tunes (7) I go to preferences>advanced>importing>import using AIFF encoder>Custom:48.000 kHz, 16bit, stereo. When I then try to convert the selected tune I get the message "cannot be converted because protected files cannot be converted to other formats".
Also tried to bring directly into FCE browser and convert into either an AIFF or WAVE file from within
which appears to work until I drag to timeline to play -- without any results. I've converted I-tunes files in the past with success (although in older version of FCE) but can't figure out how to make it work this time around. Any thoughts? Just to clarify, my objective is to get the tune into FCE timeline regardless of the best method.

    Ukey,
Songs you purchase from iTunes are copyrighted and protected with DRM. The terms of the iTunes Service Agreement you accepted when you signed up for iTunes do not alllow you to use iTunes purchased songs this way.

  • Converting music files from Windows Media Player to iTunes

There has got to be an easier way to convert these files...does anyone have any suggestions? It is only reading them as text files and they aren't. They are straight from my cd collections.

iTunes will not accept Window Media player tracks that are protected. If you imported them off your own CDs, did you check the option to apply protection to them? If so, your only choice is to re-rip those CDs.

  • Converting music file to mono

I only have hearing in one ear - bye bye stereo -
anyway, I have about 6000 songs on my IPod and in my Itunes library - can I convert them to mono, or do I have to always use a conversion plug on my head phones. ?

I tried that and it got very complicated for me so i had to use alternatives the closest was PhonTunes i did buy the upgrade 2 days ago now it's telling me i have to upgrade again. It was the only third party software i can understand the MPRG Streamclip only gave me options to play not to transfer it to iTunes.

  • What video converter software will convert my videos to a mpv file?

I need my vidoe project to be in a mpv file but don't know what software to download?

    Thanks for your reply, Martin.
What I'm doing is converting an .MTS file to .mp4 using HandBrake. FinalCut Express opens the .mp4 files (sometimes) but they have pixellation with huge squares all over the screen. I'm guessing it has to do with keyframes. So that's why I'm trying to convert it. When I open the .mp4 file in QuickTime in order to Export as QuickTime Movie I select these options for AIC:
This is what the QT Inspector window shows for each:
    mp4 file
    mov file
    Format
MPEG-4(Perian), 1920x1080, MIllions, AAC, Stereo (LR), 48,000 kHz
16-bit Integer (Little Endian), Stereo (LR), 48,000 kHz, Apple Intermediate Codec, 1440x1080 (1888x1062), Millions
    FPS
    29.97
    30.33
    Normal Size
    1920 x 1080 pixels
    1888x1062 pixels
The problem is, I'm only guessing which settings to use. Is there information somewhere that spells that out? Should I be doing something different when I convert the .MTS file in the first place?

  • Convert Imported video to a score?

Question: I have taken a video of my daughter playing on her piano some music she composed. I figured out that I can import the video into GarageBand. But is it possible to convert that imported video to a score (ie. see the music as sheet music) ?
    Thanks in advance!!!!

Is there another program that would allow me to convert the video to a midi file
both Logic and Melodyne claim to be able to generate MIDI data from audio (in my limited experience: barely), and i think they would have an even more difficult time trying to transcribe from a "room recording," but i know Melodyne has a trial version so it would cost nothing to try (just don't get your hopes up)
