They should not be able to use my application after the period even if they change their system date to a previous date.

Anyway, you can insert the picture in to OneNote and then have OneNote convert it into text. This usually isn't very accurate for scans though.
A better solution would be to use a application which is dedicated to OCR. There are various out there. I suggest you try their demo versions to find out which works best with your handwriting.

How to convert WebDynpro Application into Webservoce

HI Experts,
I have one WebDynpro Application which has the functionality of search Using KM Index Management API's.
This performs the search in portal using TREX.
My requirement is to use this functionality in sharepoint portal(Microsoft Product).
From this sharepoint portal they want to use this search application to search in portal.
Now my choice is to convert this WebDynpro application into webservice so that , share point server guys can call webservice to use that search application.
How can I Convert my webdynpro application into webservice?

Why turns a valid CS6 into a demo version?

My Adobe states that this [never disclose serial numbers] is a valid serial number. It has been working since august 2012. The validity stopped 3 weeks ago. I started a case, but nobody at Adobe answers! Sunday they've told me that I would receive an e-mail within 24 hours that would solve the issue, but nothing happened! In my Adobe ID it states that the serial number is valid...
Does anybody know what the problem is?

How to convert an existing db application into a clustered application

I want to know how can i convert my application into a clustered application.
my current application there are 5 modules and thses modules have 5-10 tables in common.Since these modules work simultaeously the processing time gets increased drastically.Is it possible that to have seperate instances of these tables and every module works independently and oracle take care of the consistency.
I want to know if RAC could be the solution?

I want to know if RAC could be the solution?Sounds like an application design issue. I think you'd be best served tracing the applications and see where the overhead is being introduced when they do their process concurrently.
Throwing RAC at a poorly developed application would do nothing except amplify the poor design (it'll make things worse).

How do you import (or convert) XMP metadata into iPhoto '08?

Having recently made OS X my primary operating system, I switched from using Picasa/Windows Photo Gallery on Vista to catalogue my photos to iPhoto '08. However, the 7,000+ pictures I have all have XMP metadata tags. None of them show up in iPhoto '08 after import. Needless to say, I am not looking forward to having to retag 7,000+ pictures in iPhoto.
I know people in various forums, here and elsewhere, have said that iPhoto '08 does not do XMP at all. Is this true? Is there a workaround or plugin? I find it weird that XMP has been an open standard since May, and 6 months later, there isn't a plugin or solution, especially from Apple. Unless I am just daft and missing something obvious, which is entirely possible.
At any rate, I would really appreciate any help in me not having to retag over 7,000 pictures...thanks in advance!

Do you still have the PC and the photos on it? If so you might look into the demo version of iView MediaPro and see it if can read those Picasa files and embed the metadata into the files like it can when reading an iPhoto library on the Mac platform. If it can, you'll be able to write the metadata to the files and bring them over again to the Mac and import into a new library. This is only speculation as I'm not conversant in Windows at all.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Convert table linked report into a Command version - Howto?

How can I convert hundreds of reports from table linked into a Command version?
One way to do is to take the SQL syntax off the report, add a Command with that Syntax and manually replace the database fields by the Command fields.
I can not believe that is the right way to this. Is there no hidden (re-)mapping fields button or another undocumented feature?
If this is the way to do it... when will there be a one-button-click solution. The underlaying data keeps the same, could not be that hard to build..?
Without that basic functionality Crystal Reports is not option for us anymore.
Backgroud: We do have hundreds of reports that are created by an ODBC (RDO) database (SQL Anywhere database), created by linking the tables and select the fields we like to use in the report. This works fine at least as we used the RDC method in our application. Because we are moving to .NET we could not use RDC anymore and have to use the .NET methods. However the .NET SDK is very limited. The only way to add more complex WHERE statements is to use the Command functionality of Crystal Reports.

Let me explain, Command Objects are sent directly to the DB server as is. CR does not alter the SQL at all. As you know in SQL there are minor differences between the various servers and the SQL syntax can vary from DB to DB. Because of this CR could not build in the logic to handle the vast number of potential mappings, and not jsut SQL types but also PC databases.
To be able to map reports based on connections directly to the DB through a Command object the current versions of CR do not have the ability. Possibly the next version may have this feature though but we can't say for sure until it's released. Check our WEB site for new versions and there functionality.
Next question about moving off of the RDC to .NET, you are correct. CR no longer allows you to modify the SQL statement directly. The RDC was actually supposed to stop you also but it did work.
One possible solution is to use .NET and inProc RAS ( Report Application Server) and using record sets. Your app can get the SQL from the report, process the query and appending the info onto the WHERE clause as well as other filtering and then set the existing reports data source to the record set. As long as your data is less than 5000 rows then no performance issues, over 5K and you may start to see slow report processing. Depends on other info and report complexity etc.
If this is an option for you please post your question to the Crystal .NET development forum. Also, you will need to use 12.x.2000.x versions of the CR .NET assemblies and not use the basic version 10.5 or 10.2 that comes with .NET 2008 and 2005.

Converting the WAD applications into PDF format

Hi SAPians,
I'm in need to convert WAD results into PDF Format using SAP BW 3.5 and Acrobat Reader 7.0. And I've referred some documents in Net, But,they gave ideas only for 3.5 and Acorobat 5 version.
But i've to convert the WAD results into PDF format only by using Acrobat Reader 7.0. So, kindly let me know the steps to do so.

How to convert an Application Service into a Web Service

Hi,
I am working on SAP Netweaver CE 7.1. I have created an Application Service which returns an output as a List with each elemnt of the list conatining some attributes and a List.
now I want to convert this AS into a Web Service. how I can do that as teh Developer Studio doesn't allow me to select the method which returns the List.
Also how should I deploy the Web Service and test the same.
Please reply ASAP.

To convert your Application Service into a Web Service ,
1) go to General Tab of your Application Service
2) check the option Remote Enabled Service , Save Metadata
3) Right click Application Service and select WebService New , give name for your Webservice and select Default Configuration type : Simple SOAP or select Basic Auth SOAP if u want your webservice to be password protected , just click next and finally finish
4) Genearte your project code , build and deploy your application
5) Then goto webService navigator to test your Web service

Can I convert a Lookout application into a labview application?

We here are seriously thinkig to migrate to Labview. There is a complex application done with Lookout 6.0 that we want to convert to a labview application. Having the proper Labview, is there a way of compiling it, open and save, or convert the Lookout application into a Laview application?

First of all I hope you first question regarding lookout is solved. If so then mark my answer as solution.
For the next time, if you have other questions, which are not related to the one you started the thread of, then open a new thread!
And no, National Instruments don't has drivers for Non-NI Products, so LabVIEW has no driver for your motion card. Anyhow National Instruments has it's own Motion Hardware and Software (ni.com/motion).
And for LabVIEW and Linux just go to ni.com/linux, and you will find supported hardware/software and the linux derivates it works on.

Converting an Applet into an Application

I think I understand the basics of converting an Applet into an Application but Iam unsure on how you would go about passing the parameters that are normally stored in the HTML tag into the application.

Basically you'll need to provide your own getParameter
method. It's easy with a java.util.HashTable -- the
parameter name as the key.that means that i would have to go back and change the old code, correct?

It would be great if Apple released a 30-day demo version of Aperture that turns into a read-only version (a "reader" so to speak) after the demo expires.
This is what Apple did with iWork '06. It lets people try out the software for a while, but then still "play" with it after that point--but not save anything.
This would be a useful competitive strategy for that "other" new product that's available free in beta form. People like free, even if it goes away after a while. It's the whole addiction thing.

Before the release of Aperture Apple made available
3 quicktime videos showing Pro's using the new
Application. Each Pro gushed and said they were happy
with it. They indicated that it solved many of their
problems. Looking at those commercials again I see
they were carefully tailored to hide the parts of the
Aperture that do not work. I see that the "Pros" were
in fact paid actors, even though their day job might
be photography. I know this because Aperture is not
capable of a complete work-flow for the production of
quality images by a professional photographer that
captures and post processes all the way to a final
image, ready for a stock house or magazine.
Given that at least one of the photographers in the demo movies worked with TIFF into Aperture I find your analysis incorrect. There is no one aspect so broken it would prevent you from using the tool end-to-end, especially when starting with a TIFF. And the people in the movies were using to some degree the Photoshop integration which gives you any ability Photoshop has to produced finished work - if you needed to do so. I can't see how they could not have completed the jobs on display.
What shortcoming of Aperture do you honestly think would have prevented finishing the work? Remember complaining about conversion quality for a camera not used in the demo does not count as that's not qhat they were using.

point? Had Apple released a demo disk of Aperture
they would not have sold 1/10th of the copies they
did.
Given the many overly negative complaints like your own we see I believe Apple might sell 10x as many copies of Aperture if the populace at large realized how useful Aperture actually is instead of being scared away just because people do not like the RAW conversion for one camera and thus extrapolate that into the dubious claim that the whole product is generally unusable.
