Convert on the server a word document to html

I have a site where agenda item and minutes of meetings are
uploaded and wish to allow members to upload them to the site and
have the files converted to html on the server and then stored on a
folder on the site say...
www.site.com/uploads/
this folder is already being checked via another page that
will list all the files in the folder so members can click to open
them in the browser.
i have looked around but not getting very far with this.
i would like to do this in what ever method is available as
long as it can be done on the fly.
i have a windows server, in case this is helpful.
thanks for your help.

Don't do it this way. Skip word completely.
Instead, build a content management tool for them to cut and
paste the
agenda directly into the database as HTML.

I just installed the free trial Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and it is not allowing me to freely convert a pdf to a word document????!!!! Why is this? Does anyone have this problem?

When you report a problem you should always try to include as much relevant information as possible. Saying "it doesn't work, help me!" is not very helpful to us, because there could be a million reasons for it not working... What exactly happens when you try to convert a PDF to Word? Are there any error messages? How exactly are you trying to do it? Also, what operating system do you use? What version of Word? What exactly version of Acrobat? etc.

I've become increasingly frustrated with the ipad adobe app. I've subscribed to be able to convert my pdf files into word documents and it has yet to work I've paid for a service that does not work which in turn makes me a disgruntled customer to say the least very disappointed with such horrible service

Which service did you subscribe to?  Adobe PDF Pack?
Once I know the service that you subscribed to, I can move this post to the right forum so that you can get in touch with the folks who can assist you.

Not stupid you! To, from PDF--it gets confusing!
To edit a PDF file, you need to use Acrobat. Depending on how much work needs to be done to the PDF, it may make sure sense to edit in Word, and then reconvert to PDF. Acrobat doesn't function as a word processor, so while limited changes to the text should be fine, extensive updates may not yield the results you're looking for.
That said, if you don't have Acrobat, you are welcome to try it for free for 30 days. For more information, see www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • How to convert word documents to html page in sharepoint online 2013

    Hi,
I am new SharePoint and still learning it.
I have been tasked to do the following on office 365 E3 SharePoint 2013 Online edition.
    1) I have to create a Web page in asp.net
    2) This page needs to show document from a given SharePoint folder and bind them in a grid or dropdown on the asp .net web page
    3) On selecting the document from the drop down or gird (on asp .net webpage), I need to show the SharePoint word document as HTML on the webpage (something like word to html) Note: These SharePoint word document may contain Images, bullets, tables etc.
What I have been able to do till now
    1) I have been able to connect to SharePoint from ASP .net application.
    2) I have been able to retrieve document from a specific SharePoint folder.
    3) Read the document from SharePoint folder and bind them to a drop down on the asp .net page.
    What is missing?
I am not aware about any API that SharePoint Online provides to convert Word document to HTML. Any code sample or reference on how to will be much appreciated.
I am not also not sure what is the best way of achieving the functionality this?
    Thanks
    Krishna

If this was SharePoint server then it would be easy however in O365 You need to create a app which will use the word automation service and below is  powershell which you can use for the conversion:-
    # This script will convert Docx to PDF using word automation and similarly it can be used to convert to HTML
    $wordFile="http://contoso/kick.docx"
    $pdfFile="http://contoso/kick.pdf"
    $wasp = Get-SPServiceApplicationProxy | where { $_.TypeName -eq "Word Automation Services Proxy" }
    $site = Get-SPSite "http://contoso"
    $ConvertJob = New-Object Microsoft.Office.Word.Server.Conversions.SyncConverter($wasp)
    $ConvertJob.UserToken = $site.UserToken
    $ConvertJob.Settings.UpdateFields = $false
    $ConvertJob.Settings.OutputFormat = "PDF"
    $ConvertJob.Convert($wordFile, $pdfFile)

I am trying to convert a PDF to a Word document using Acrobat Pro 9 but am unable to find "Content to edit" under tools.  Do I need a newer version?

Acrobat 9 Pro (not Standard) can export ("convert") PDF to Word, RTF, or other text formats.
    Click-path:  File - Export
    Take your pick.
With install of Acrobat 9 the Help PDF is installed also.
From the this PDF's Bookmarks expand Chapter 5's bookmark and select "Convert PDFs to Word".
    Be well...

    Hi debrat84859140,
To save that converted file to your computer, you just need to download it from your Acrobat.com account:
Log in to your account at https://cloud.acrobat.com/files.
Select the file that you want to download.
Click the Download link at the top of the file list. Your file will be downloaded to the Downloads folder on your computer.

  • Converting a PDF to a Word document that maintains formatting

I am trying to convert a PDF to a Word .doc and it when I select the Export to Word Document option, the formatting goes crazy.  Is there a way to maintain the formatting from the .pdf  to .doc?

Not really in Acrobat no. If the original document used proper tagging you'd have a better shot at it but those are rare.
There are PDF to Word converters that do a better job available. Try Google and you'll get many options (can't vouch for any personally).

    Hi David,
I see you are using the ExportPDF subscription. How large is your file?
    Try these two items:
    'Getting started guide'

I have downloaded a trail version of Adobe XI.  I tried to convert a PDF to a Word Document.  It wont let me.  Why?

Usually it is because Adobe Reader is opening, not Acrobat Pro. Be sure that the program you are using is Acrobat Pro, not the free Reader. In Acrobat Pro, File > Save As Other > Microsoft Word.
