Convert or import email .msg to .eml?

is there a free way to convert PC Outlook email extension 'msg' to Mac based Entourage readable 'eml' files so I can import them or open them in Entourage?

well, I did not find a free way, but by far the most affordable - and works perfect in Entourage 2004, is this product called EML and MSG converter by BitDaddys... http://bitdaddys.com/outlookEMLandMSGconverter.html
I used it to convert Outlook 2002 msg into Entourage 2004 eml files when my mac crashed and I had to go to my pc.. this way, I could take my Outlook inbox and sent folders and convert them to usable Entourage files and then still have all my emails for future tracking - which is VERY valuable to me and my clients.

  • How to convert .msg to .eml

    Hi,
    Can anybody tell me how to convert a .msg file to .eml file. I could save a MailItem object as a msg file, but I need it to be .eml file.
    Is there a free 3rd party util or in built util ?

    I believe that Aspose.Network (third party networking component) supports converting .msg to .eml and its latest version 4.2 now supports converting .eml to .msg files as well. You can download its free evaluation version and also read Aspose.Network product overview  for more details.
    I hope this will help.

  • Spotlight Doesn't Search Imported Email Folders

    I recently bought a new Macbook Pro 15in. (first Mac) and used PST Converter Pro to convert about 20,000 emails from Outlook on my PC. From what I can tell, the emails seem to be all there and I can read them just fine. I cannot, however, use Spotlight to find anything in the On My Mac/Import Folders. All the indexing options for Spotlight are turned on. How do I get search to work for these imported emails?

    You can use the terminal command:
    mdimport -L
    to see the list of importers that are installed. Also, the following is probably irrelevant to your issue, but you can diagnose individual files to see how they're indexed by Spotlight:
    mdimport -d1 file
    This shows the UTI (type) of the file or folder. If you get a dynamic UTI for a folder, that probably means Spotlight is not indexing the folder's contents. So far I don't know how to fix a dynamic UTI.

  • I can only import emails from outlook express to TB for one identity. How do I import emails for my other account identities?

    I'm using a portable version of Thunderbird because I want to use TB to collect emails for a few different accounts that I have scattered on different machines.
    For example I have [email protected] on machine one and machine two. [email protected] is also on machines one and two.
    After setting up accounts one and two in the portable app I can only import the messages for account one. I have tried many times over the last two days. Thunderbird does not want to import the messages for account two.
    What do I need to do to import emails for multiple accounts into Thunderbird?

    Does [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_from_Outlook_Express#Importing_more_than_one_Outlook_Express_identity this method] for identities apply to your setup?
    Keep in mind also that OE messages are eml files that can be dragged directly from Explorer to a TB folder, e.g. one created under Local Folders.

  • Importing Email data from EM Client

    Is there any way or tool to import a local em client database to thunderbird retaining the folder/subfolder structure?

    Is there any way or tool to import a local em client database to thunderbird retaining the folder/subfolder structure?
    </blockquote>
    Final solution for anyone else wanting to make this move......
    The only export option from EM Client is eml files with one file per email. It will however, export those files with the folder structure intact.
    The Thunderbird ImportExportTools addon then has an import option to import all emails in a folder and a box that you can tick to include subfolders. That will Import all the emails and create the folders and sub folders as per the original structure. There were some minor issues along the way. Thunderbird seemed to not let you import straight into the Local Folders, so I had to create a sub folder, import into that, then move all those folders back into the Local Folders. Also, all the imported emails are marked as unread, so you will need to go through every folder and use the "Mark folder as read" option. Hope that helps someone else get through this process more easily!

  • Can I save an email message as .eml file and open it using outlook?

    Hi all,
    I use the following codes to save the received email message as .eml files:
    Session session = (Session)map.get("CURRENT_SESSION");
    //InputStream is = msg.getInputStream();
    MimeMessage mm = new MimeMessage(session, msg.getInputStream());
    String filePath = AttachmentProcess.getInstance().getFilePath(attachmentId);
    String fileName = AttachmentProcess.getInstance().getFileName(attachmentId);
    mm.saveChanges();
    mm.writeTo(new FileOutputStream(new File(filePath, fileName)));

  • Can I import email addresses from a contact group into a new email?

    Import email addresses?  I'm trying to send an electronic invitation to a group of about 50 people.  I have to enter each of their email addresses, and rather than typing them one by one, I'm wondering if I can import all of their email addresses from a group I created in my Address Book.  I'm sending the invitation through the company's website, nut my email, so the email address does not appear when I start typing their names.  Thanks!

    Open a new message and start typing the groups name in the 'To' field works for me. Some e-mail providers have limits on how many addressees can be in one e-mail.

  • How do i set preferences in LR 2.4 to convert  all imports to DNG?

    How do i set preferences in LR 2.4 to convert all imports to DNG? Is there any downside to doing this automatically?

    There isn't a preference for automatically converting to DNG, instead you choose Convert to DNG within the File Handling section of the Import window.
    Within the Import section of the Preferences panel you need decide how the DNG files are to be created. The following screen shot is probably the best choice for Lr 2.4 and later.

  • Recommendation for a new feature - alert when an important email arrives

    Why can't I set my iPhone to give me an alert when an important email arrives?  This new feature would alert me when I get an email from a predetermined sender or subject line.  AOL offers this feature.  Why can't my iPhone do it too?  The phone would need to read the sender address and subject line of each email, and then bounce it against a list of pre-configured alerts that the user programs.
    This would also cut down on data consumption, since users would not have to check and recheck their mail when waiting for somethign important.  With an alert, you just set it and forget it.

    iOS 6, coming this fall, will include a new feature that allows you to designate a VIP list for just this purpose.  This feature will be supported on the iPhone 4.  See "Mail" here: http://www.apple.com/ios/ios6/.

  • Convert Multiple Outlook Emails to Multiple PDF Files (Not Portfolio or Single PDF) for Archiving?

    Hi all, I am learning how to convert emails to PDF files and there is some great functionality there!!  I have not discovered how to convert multiple outlook emails into multiple PDF files (one PDF file for each email) - all at the same time (not one at a time)!!  Is there a way to do this using Acrobat X??  The purpose of this is for long-term business archiving.  When I search for an email in the archive, I do not want to pull up a portfolio containing 1000 emails or a 1000 page PDF file with multiple emails run together!!!  I want to pull up individual emails containing my search terms.  I have been searching for a way to archive emails and MS OUTLOOK .PST files are NOT the answer.  I get a lot of business emails with large attachments and I do not file my emails in separate sub-folders (by client or job).  I want to convert multiple emails (by date range) from my UNIVERSAL INBOX into multiple PDF files for long term storage (with each email being converted into its own, separate PDF file and named with the same name as the "Re: line" of the email).  This has been a HUGE problem for me....and Acrobat is sooooo close to the solution for me.  Can anyone help??  If so, will attachments be converted?  If not, is there a separate software program or add-in that I can buy that will do this??  I use MS Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat X Pro, Windows 7 64 BIT.  Thanks for your help!!

    I am a retired person and did'nt realize I already have a Adobe account, so you can scrap the entire information. Thanks for the trial anyway and have a great week.

  • How to embed image in email msg using MAC version of PSE

    I can embed an image as Photo Mail in email msg using WIN version of PSE8 but can only send the image as an attachment in MAC version. Is there a way to embed images in MAC version email msgs?

    Well, it's not complicated at all really. Just put the cursor in a message where you want the image and drop it in, or else click the stationery button in mail, choose a template, drag over the placeholder "greeking" text and replace it with your own, then drag your own photos into the placeholders. Here's a look at one of the templates. You can see that as my mouse is over the right hand image it tells you to put your own photo there in place of the sample. Moving over the other ones does the same thing.

  • Converting Outlook 2007 email to PDF; Have to reboot PC to convert multiple times

    I have an end user who converts multiple emails to PDF for filing purposes. Adobe converts multiple emails in a portfolio style. Email can be seen as in a file at the top and seen seperately ebelow. After 2-3 times Adobe won't convert to portfolio format, won't give error message, but will convert all selected email as one large PDF. Until user reboots machine, portfolios can't be created.  Tried on two different machines same issue. Using Adobe 9 Pro and Outlook 2007.

    Is Acrobat updated to 9.5.2?  What SP do you have installed for Office 2007?  What version of Windows (with SP) is running on these computers?

  • Do imported emails from pst files get saved to Exchange Server?

    So I exported a user's email into a pst file and I'm importing all of them into his new email address.  My question is whether these newly imported emails will be only available locally or will they be uploaded into the Exchange server (which is TWC's
    hosted service) and therefore he'll be able to  access them from his phone as well?  If they are not uploaded, how would I go about to making these emails available on his phone through his new email address as well then?

    Hi th0rax,
    yes, if you imported mails from a PST file to the Exchange Mailbox you will be able to Access them from Outlook, OWA and ActiveSync where you habe Access to your Mailbox.
    I suggest you should do that via new-mailboximportrequest (http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/ff607310(v=exchg.150).aspx) if it is a big PST file and maybe a longer
    list of users.
    You can also Import via Outlook but in that case you need to have that Outlook Client running until "All Folders are up to date" and the new Mailbox Content was replicated to your Servers Mailbox after the Import was done.

    Martin
