Convert pc element 6 to Mac element 6. - is this possible?
I have 13,000+ pictures on PC elements 6 I want to convert to Mac element 6. I don't won't to loose all the tags.
You do know there's no organizer in the mac version, right? If you use File>Write Tags and Properties to File(s) in the organizer before moving your photos to the mac, that should put the tags into the files' metadata where any program that can see metadata can find them. (doesn't work for raw)

G4 power brick with Intel mac mini? is this possible just to test?
A friend gave me an Intel mac mini, 1.60GHz CPU model, but no power supply.
I tried using my G4 mac mini's 85W A1105 power supply on the intel mac mini but nothing happens. I have to unplug the power supply from the wall to get it to power on my G4 mac mini (it apparently doesn't like being plugged into the intel mac mini).
Is it possible to use the G4 2005 power supply with the Intel mac mini if only to just test to see if the intel computer works? I don't want to buy a MA407LL/A 110W intel mac mini power supply only to find that the computer he gave me is broken.
Just wondering if anyone had any tips/ideas how to tell if the Intel mac mini works at all or if I'm just going to have to find someone who has the 110W intel model supply to test it...The G4 mini power supply is rated at a significantly lower current capacity than the Intel mini requires, thus while some have had marginal success in using an old supply with a newer system, almost any tolerance variation will mean the Intel box won't run with the G4 supply. Not only that, but since the Intel system will load the G4 supply at a level it was not designed to accommodate, you could damage your G4 supply by trying.
If you have an Apple store in your area, I would take the Intel mini to the genius bar there where it can be tested, thus avoiding you having to buy a new supply without knowing if it will work. -
Using iPod for data transfer from windows to a Mac... is this possible?
ok here's the situation.
my room mate has a (video) iPod 30G colour screen and everything. she has downloaded a show (not from iTunes) on her laptop using windows. We want to use her iPod to transfer the data from that show onto my computer which is an iMac G5 Intel Core Duo.
We connected the iPod to my computer but it was not recognized. Is this because her iPod is formatted for Windows or is there possibly another reason?

thanksFrom what I know, windows will not recognize the complicated data of a mac formatted device; hence not recognizing it. Macs can recognize a windows formated ipod though, so if you decide to reformat it on windows, then you can use it on both computers. If you dont though, looks like you are out of luck, sorry.

You cannot use apps from the iTunes Store on a Mac. You need to find those at the App Store.

Converting from Elements 11 to Lightroom 4.3
I have converted my Elements 11 catalog in Lightroom 4 but almost all pictures are gray blanks and I cannot seee them or access them. Do I need to delete the catalog and try again or is there another way? Thank you.
Thank you both for your all your help. In fact, after a lot of thought and experimentation, I reached the conclusion that LR was not lying when it said it could not find the photos. I looked carefully at the path of a missing photo and discovered that one character in one of the folder names in the path was missing.
Then I recalled that I had had a system crash last year and Windows had to be re-installed. When the technician restored my backup, he somehow put all my photos into a folder which varied by one character.
When I tried to convert my Elements catalog, I (or the system) chose an old Elements catalog dating from before the crash so all the paths were inaccurate and LR was absolutelty right.
I have now deleted the offending catalog and converted the latest Elements catalog and all seems in order (sigh of relief!).
I am sorry to have wasted your time but your input did help because it made me think.

Ho do I convert my Elements 5 Catalog to Elements 13 which I just purchased. I followed one of the tutorials and converted my Elements 5 Catalog to a "pse.13db" file. How do I get Elements 13 to recognize that converted file? When I open Elements 13 Catalog Manager and browse to the correct location, it doesn't show the file. Help! Thanks

You can't merge catalogs (even PSE13 ones) in any PSE version (only LR can do that). So, converting catalogs is not the solution to your problem.
Since you have PSE5 working on your computer and your images also, the solution is to 'write metadata to files in PSE5) and to re-import the images in the PSE13 catalog. That won't duplicate your image files and you'll lose albums/collections, stacks and version sets, but you'll recover tags, captions and ratings.
To be able to re-import the files indexed in PSE5, you may have to move them to a new master folder.
I am not sure what your problem with the conversion may be. It's quite possible that the resulting catalog.pse13db is ok and that the issue lies in the ability to open it in the PSE13 organizer.
As stated by dj_page, double clicking on that file should open the organizer with the new catalog. You could test that by creating a dummy catalog in PSE13 and importing a small batch of photos. Locate the path of the catalog with the menu Help/system info. Copy the catalog.pse13db in another folder and the 'double click' way to open the organizer with that moved catalog database.

I found where to enter the serial numbers: I had to go to The Editor; the input screen did not pop up on the Welcome Page or the Organizer.

Just a just in case mention if you try to download and install Premiere Elements 13 to your Windows XP 32 bit or 64 bit computer....
I was able to download the Adobe tryout for Premiere Elements 13 to my Windows 7 64 bit computer, but it would not install as per Adobe's statement that Premiere Elements 13 on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Mac OSX 10.7 is not supported.
If Window XP is your only computer, then you probably will be able to download the Premiere Elements 13 tryout but not install it.
Do you have Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer as well as the XP?

One year ago i installed Elements 12 on my PC with a serial number and it was OK.
Today i have installed Elements 12 also on my laptop.
But,...there is a problem with validation of the serial number on my laptop. Is there a need to validate Elements or will this program real disapeare in 7 days?

Since you already have one copy activated the serial number must be logged in your account details - I would first check that the one logged and the one you are attempting to enter are the same.
You can check your account details by going to www.adobe.com and clicking on Manage Account. You need to sign in with your Adobe Id and then click on View All under Plans & Products. Next click on View your products and after a while it should produce your list.
If there is a problem with the serial number, only Adobe can help you there (we are just users). Please see the response in this thread

What is the size of your hard disk? PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine. Just a thought here.
