Convert PDF to SAP-Uploadable TIFF-Format

Hi friends !
What's the best way to convert a PDF-Dcoument to a SAP-uploadable TIFF-Graphic ?
Any tip or recommended tool is welcome !

I am using Snagit as tool do this sort of things, Just checked and it works ok. The type of TIF is critical as not all types are accepted by SAP. But this one is ok.
It is a manual process thought, if you need to automate it then maybe there is a command line version for snagit?

In our Webcenter Portal app, we create the PDF document with the content of ADF pages and check it in UCM using RIDC api.
There will some batch job which will retrieve the documents from UCM and send them to client internal Document management system. The client / batch job will only process TIFF files. So we need a way to convert the PDF into TIFF. We are okie to have both PDF and TIFF stored in UCM.
When i have done research, i could only see components like PDFexport or TIFFConverter which only converts the other formats into PDF. But i am expecting a reverse conversion. Is it possible ? Thanks

Converting PDF file contents to base64Binary format

Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to convert PDF form contents to base64Binary format and call the webservice to send it to outside world.
Detail Description:
I have two buttons on my application one "DISPLAY" & another "SEND". If user clicks on 'DISPLAY' then PDF form will be opened and printed. If user clicks "SEND" button then PDF form contents should be converted to base64Binary format and proxy class will be called to send to PI server. Please let me know any function modules or codes for converting PDF form contents to base64Binary format.
Your inputs on this will be highly appericiated.

You can try one of the functions in function group SCMS_CONV (or search for others in SE37). My standard process uses older code which still works with SX_TABLE_LINE_WIDTH_CHANGE, then SO_SOLITAB_TO_SOLIXTAB, then
* Convert to XSTRING format
LOOP AT gt_pdf_255x INTO gs_pdf_255x.
ASSIGN gs_pdf_255x TO <fs_line> CASTING TYPE x.
CONCATENATE e_pdfout <fs_line> INTO e_pdfout IN BYTE MODE.
ENDLOOP.

Converting a pdf-document in a tiff-formatted document

I have created an interactive form in web-dynpro.
Now I want to convert the pdf document with the user filled-in data into a document with tiff-format.
But I´don´t know how.

You can potentially use the Adobe bean library with the Batik.jar file to convert the PDF to TIFF or any other image format.
The Adobe bean library is available from

Acrobat 9- convert pdf to html, not retaining format as original pdf.

I'm needing to upload a completed irs form to my website. I have the pdf, but when i export or save as an html file, the image looks different. It is not retaining the original look/format of the pdf form.
Alternatively, is there a way to export multiple pages into one single jpg, png or tiff file? my document is 34 pages.
Any help is appreciated.

HTML by its very nature has a varying format to meet the needs of the browser and screen. It should never be expected to see the same format when converting to HTML. Actually I am surprised you could even convert it to HTML since most IRS forms are secure and do not allow such operations. If you want to post it to your site for some reason, just post the PDF file itself.

For eg. Europe/Paris would map to CET - is there a way to get this mapping in ABAP?

I have only found the ontherway around, which is not useful in my case

Unfortunately it is not supported within SAP.
You have to call a third party conversion product.
We have not designed our solution yet.

Facing a problem reading converted PDF chinese document

Hello I m facing a problem reading Chinese simplified document,,I converted a TIFF file into PDF and installed Chinese simplified font,,my need is to select the contents of the converted pdf and copy,paste into a translator(google or systran) inorder to translate the chinese fonts into English..but i could not select the converted pdf's contents in text format,,it copies as images again..Please help with this..

As the PDF page content is a image (the TIFF) there is no text to to select/copy or save as to text.
Running the PDF through OCR would provide what OCR "thinks" are the characters.
However, Adobe Reader does not provide OCR capability.

Conversion from raw data tiff format

Hi,
I am working on badi "EBPP_INVOICEDETAIL" ,there are two implementation available.
FM "APAR_EBPP_GET_SDINVOICE_DETAIL" is called inside the method "GET_INVOICE_DETAIL" ,
This FM is providing a PDF file for billing document,
I have a reqd for a new implementation and using a copy of the FM to get a TIF file for billing instead of the PDF.
Could some one please provide me the logic for doing so, OR
The FM to convert from raw data to tiff format.

I just checked your subscription details and you are currently subscribed to Adobe Export PDF service that enables you to convert pdf documents into various other formats like .doc, .rtf etc.
However in order to convert such files back into pdf format, you need to subscribe to Adobe PDF Pack(Reliably Create PDFs, Convert PDFs, & Merge PDFs Online | Adobe PDF Pack ).

how can i tranfrom the pdf file to html or xml using Acrobat's API? The software already have the function(http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-acrobat-x/converting-pdf-files-to-other-file-formats/). In C# ,I can use the acrobat's dll open the pdf file and can invoke the MenuItem SaveAs;
like this:
            AcroApp.Show();

            AcroApp.MenuItemExecute("SaveAs");
            AcroApp.CloseAllDocs();

But this is not automatic.

I've read a few negative comments about the convert to word document feature on the iOS Adobe Reader App. Anyone know if there is a way to try it before I purchase the option? Maybe a promo code or something similar? I use an iPad mini to "fill in" documents and the task is tedious. I'm looking for an easier solution. Any help?

You could subscribe and cancel it within 30 days to get a full refund. But it's a bit of a hassle.

Sadly no. And strange thing is that only this pdf file have problem with saving sigh...even if I told him to send again still can't save this file...my classmate doesn't have this problem :I for this pdf...but only me specifically on this pdf...it go cray cray (crazy)
