Convert Photoshop images to WordPress theme

I work as a freelancer web developer, my website is www.quleiss.com I am more into coding compared to designing. I also work as a WordPress developer. In this ever changing web development industry there is a technique to convert the photoshop image files directly into WordPress Theme. I tried the same using the devine theme but I was getting errors. Plz help me.
Thnx.

I'm not sure what you are getting at. A theme is more than a bunch of pretty graphics and half the CSS definitions WP uses aren't even immediately visible and only kick in when doing specific queries or displaying content in a specific way. So from my perspective this doesn't really make much sense and any theme design is done much better in DW or similar with a life connection to a server and WP install.

  • Creating a magazine from Photoshop Images and transferring them to InDesign

    Hello,
    I'm in the process of creating a magazine. I have already started created the pages including their layout in Photoshop. I have CS4 and I want to transfer those images to InDesign and also incorporate Flash to produce a web-base magazine. How do I transfer those Photoshop images (files) into InDesign and also incorporate Flash.
    Attached are some finished pages so that you will have something to show me, in detail, on how this process is done, and/or IF, it can be done.

    Hi, smitty212.
    Hopefully everyone can agree to ignore some of the dialog above.
    Your question is a bit difficult, in large part because it appears that you did a lot of work in a way that could be very difficult to transfer, but you haven't given us full information about what you really have and what you need.
    Generally speaking, editable text in Photoshop is not very flexible. It's not easy to manage large amounts of text there, and depending on how you have used it, it may be nearly impossible to get the text out without retyping it.
    The normal use of InDesign, as you've probably gathered by now, is to place the text in text frames (either by typing or by File > Place-ing it from another application, or maybe cut-and-paste but probably not), and to place graphics in graphics frames (again, with File > Place. Never with cut-and-paste, which causes all manner of problems).
    Ideally, then, you'd have all the images in your layout as seperate files, and the text, too, and you could compose the layout as normal.
    The hard part will be rescuing the text. You may be able to cut and paste it out of Photoshop.
    It is possible that you might be able to save some work by converting pieces of the Photoshop layout to smart objects and placing those into InDesign.
    One thing to consider is how resolution-independent your output is going to be. In Photoshop, everything is a pixel. So if the work was done at a low resolution, it won't support resizing in InDesign. This is especially true of text that has been rasterized (converted to pixels). But if everything was high enough resolution in Photoshop, you may be able to get away with just placing the Photoshop images in InDesign. It won't be easily editable, but maybe that's ok.
    I hope this helps.

  • Convert Photoshop image to EXISTING .pdf

    Hello - I searched everywhere for this answer and can't seem to find it.
    I want to be able to put an .psd file/.jpg/anything file that I create in Photoshop into an existing .PDF that I have.  In otherwords I have a .pdf template with a blank area for these images and I can't figure out how to do this.  It always seems to throw my image at the bottom on a different page.  I've searched tutorials and I think I am looking in the wrong place.
    Please help!

    A PDF template is usually placed in a page layout program such as InDesign, where you can add your Photoshop images on top of it.
    Illustrator may have been used to create the PDF file -- and may be able to reopen it for editing.
    It is unlikely that you will find success editing or assembling these files in Photoshop or Acrobat.

  • How can I convert an image created in Photoshop into a format that Java's ImageIO library will take?

    Hi all,
    I've been trying to write an image resize tool to use the Lancoz resample algorithm to resize images to a high standard in Java.  The library with the algorithm/filter in it is mortennobel's image scaling library and it takes a buffered image as an input and returns the resized image as desired.  However the trouble I’m having is that the ImageIO library in Java, a standard library, which converts images given to its read method to buffered images doesn't accept certain images created in Photoshop and so it throws an exception.  My library needs to be fully automated to process possible thousands of images at a time and so manually converting them by resaving them as JPEG's is really feasibly.  Is there some way I can convert these images from Adobes Exif format to standard JFIF format?  I've tried simple inserting the APP0 marker from a JFIF image in-between the SOI and APP1 marker but the ImageIO library still failed.
    The above image is a screenshot of the binary in hex of one of the images that cause an Invalid Format exception when passed to ImageIO.
    Any help you could offer me with this would be much appreciated.
    Kind regards and thank you,
    Alexei Blue
    Science Warehouse.
    NB: I previously posted this post in Developers but was told to post it in a Photoshop forum so apologies if this is the incorrect formum

    The image scaling library does have a BiCubicFilter in it so I'll experiment around with them and see what happens.  As for the imageIO library I think it accepts Exif image types, but still for some reason it just doesn't like Adobe Photoshop types.  Maybe its the colour map it doesn't like I just can't seem to work out what's wrong which is slightly frustrating but looking round to see if I can find an answer

    When I try to print an jpeg or png from Photoshop all it does is convert the image to a PDF & plop it on my desktop- it won't print the image. Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

    Yes, the printer is on, it’s selected in Printer Set-Up & I’ve never had this problem before. It’s definitely a Photoshop issue as every other type of file prints fine. I’ve uninstalled Pshop & am now reinstalling. Hope that will do the trick.

  • Resizing an image for a Wordpress Theme

    I am creating a website/blog on Pro PhotoBlog and the Masthead of the theme I am using requires my image to be 990 pixels wide. I have entered the dimensions of what I wanted (990x600 pixels) on the Aperture export screen. When I import the image into Pro Photoblog, its saying its 826x600 which is an incorrect size! What's causing my export to change dimensions? The original size of my images are way big so resizing them down to 990x600 should not be an issue unless I am missing something.
    The instructions Pro Photo gives is to use Photoshop to resize the images before uploading them but why do that when I can do it in Aperture.

    Expanding a little on Munas' spot-on answers.  Note that the wording of the control in the Image Export Preset dialog is "Size to➞Fit within (pixels)".  This means that Aperture will not change the aspect ratio of your Image, it will shrink it so that it _fits within_ the dimensions you specify.  When you specify 990 x 600, you are telling Aperture to shrink the Image _proportionately_ (that is, with the same aspect ratio) until it fits within a rectangle that size.  Your Image is, apparently, not rectangular enough to _exactly_ be 990 x 600 when the width is 990 _or less_ AND the height is 600 _or less_.
    As Munas says, you must _start with_ an Image that has an aspect ratio equal to 990/600 in order to end up with an Image that is 990 x 600 when it is resized to fit within 990 x 600.  To get an image that has that aspect ratio, you need to crop an area with that aspect ratio.  I suggest creating a new Version from an Image you want to use, and then cropping with the crop tool set to "Aspect Ratio➞Custom" and "Width➞990" and "Height➞600".

  • Advice needed regarding a - Adobe Photoshop Image 15 (.psd) - I can't open them correctly?

    Hi folks,
      I recently agreed to work on some art for a friend, he sent me some files that appear on my PC as Adobe Photoshop Image 15 (.psd) - Only when i open them in my Photoshop CC (All updates installed that are available from the time this was posted) they don;t appear to be the correct images? I have Google'd the phrase above but nothing appear on my searches that would enlighten me to what i may need to open these files correctly? can anyone let me know if the file type above is meant for Photoshop or one of the many additional programs within adobe's CC? If it is a Photoshop format then i apologies for time wasting and it may be that the file was corrupted possible before being sent?
       Thank you for your time.

    Does you friend also use Photoshop CC or does he use Photoshop CC 2014.  There may be some incompatibilities is some layers if he uses CC 2014..  However  CC should be able to open  .PSD file.   And Adobe Photoshop Image 5 type files like PSD, PDD extensions should be associated with Photoshop.

  • Convert colour images to grayscale images & get pixel data from them

    Is the code below correct to convert colour images to grayscale images in Java?
    public void convertToGrayscale (String sourceName,String destName) throws Exception {
    JPEGImageDecoder decoder=JPEGCodec.createJPEGDecoder(new FileInputStream(sourceName));
    JPEGImageEncoder encoder=JPEGCodec.createJPEGEncoder(new FileOutputStream(destName));
    BufferedImage sourceImg=decoder.decodeAsBufferedImage();
    BufferedImageOp op =new ColorConvertOp(
              ColorSpace.getInstance(ColorSpace.CS_GRAY),null);
         BufferedImage destImg = op.filter(sourceImg,null);
    encoder.encode(destImg);
    decoder = null;
    encoder = null;
    When I get grayscale images from the code below, I would like to access the pixels of those images. So I tried to do:
    byte[] dd=((DataBufferByte)mImage.getRaster().getDataBuffer()).getData();
    BUT the data result array is not 0-255. Could anyone suggest how to obtain pixel data from grayscale images?
    In case that my code shown is not correct or suitable, please give your advice. What I would like to do are in the steps as follows:
    1 change 100*70 jpeg-images to 100*70 grayscale images.
    2 create two dimensional array of pixel data (example [100][70]) from converted images. The number in the array should be between 0-255, right??? And 0 refers to black colour and 255 refers to white colour???
    I am confused about grayscale images. Please help.
    Thank you so much

    I am not sure i understand what is the problem exactly.
    Structure of DataBuffer is described by SampleModel used by same Raster
    object. E.g. it might be 1 byte per xipex or 4 bytes per pixel.
    In your example convertToGrayscale saves images to file as JPEG and
    it seems you later read it back. It is possible what image you read back
    is not greyscale but ARGB and data buffer has different format.
    Technically, if you just need level of grey you may simply
    call getRGB on your output image. Grey is uniform mix of R, G and B.
    Also, instead of ColorConverOp you may dimply create output image of
    grayscale type and draw your color input image with drawImage().
    If none of these helps please try to provide more details.

  • Photoshop Image Processor?

    I have become accustomed to running some Sharpening Actions from Bridge using the Photoshop Image Processor feature. Is anything like this possible through Lightroom?
    Thanks,

    2 alternatives for you...
    1. Allow Lightroom to export, and then run the sharpening on the
    resulting files. There's a quick tutorial here
    http://www.photoshopservices.co.uk/lightroom/droplets.htm. Whilst you
    could export to psd and then let your droplet convert to jpeg after
    sharpening, that will take a lot more processing power than going
    straight to jpeg, and it's probably not worth it in a real world
    environment. Saving as top quality jpeg twice is not going to kill your
    file. (Test it!)
    2. Alternatively, do all your colour correction in LR, save the changes
    to XMP sidecar files, and then find them in Bridge with either CS2/ACR
    3.7 or CS3/ACR4 and run Image Processor as you usually would. This
    would just open and save each file once, as it does in your current
    workflow.

  • Convert color images to black&white bitmaps

    Hi,
    I have black&white scans of public domain books (image format). I use an OCR software to convert them to indexable PDFs (image+text format). However, the OCRed PDFs are insanely big: a 27 MB scanned PDF leads to an indexable PDF of 728 MB! And unfortunately, my OCR software doesn't have output settings, so I have to find a way to compress the files using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    Using Advanced Options > Optimization does reduce the file size, but not significantly. The problem seems to be that my OCR software converts the black&white scans to color images, and encodes them as such inside the PDF. So I need a way to set the image modes back to black&white. I tried using the Advanced Options > Preflight dialog, and selecting "Convert to black&white". However, the resulting PDFs stay about the same size! It seems that "Convert to black&white" converts the images to grayscale, instead of to bitmap.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    I mentioned "bitmaps", because when I open the original PDF and right-click a random page and select "Modify image..." and open the image in Photoshop, the mode is set to "Bitmap mode": meaning 1-bit mode, containing either black or white pixels. However, when I do "Modify image..." for the OCRed PDF, the mode is set to "RGB Color Mode". I think this explains, in part, the huge size of the OCRed PDF.
    Maybe this table will make it more clear:
    Original PDF (Bitmap Mode, 132 dpi)
    Size: 27 MB
    OCRed PDF (RGB Color Mode, 300 dpi)
    Size: 728 MB
    Now, from the table above, it's clear that I have to reduce the image resolution. So, using the Acrobat's PDF optimizer, I tried the following settings:
    Optimized OCRed PDF: Try 1 (Downsample to 132 dpi, JPEG compression)
    Size: 733 MB
    Optimized OCRed PDF: Try 2 (Downsample to 132 dpi, ZIP compression)
    Size: 449 MB
    But 449 MB is still huge for a single book. And I don't want to reduce the resolution under 132 dpi, because I will loose quality. Clearly, if the original document is just 27 MB, I should be able to squeeze the OCRed document too. But I don't know how.

  • Can PS convert Flash images to .jpg?

    Hey all - I've used Firefox to save a series of images pulled from an Adobe Flash slideshow on Flickr. Does Photoshop have the ability to convert these files to .jpg? Would it be as easy as doing a "File...Save As", or will I need to incorpotate another program? I have the Master Collection, if any of those would be required. Thanks for your help.

    I don't think that you can open flash files in photoshop
    And I don't know if other program could do. As far as I know, you can produce flash files in Director bat files like yours can not be opened and take images back from them.
    Although a solution you can use is to "capture" the image with the print screen faction, explaining:
    ran the flash file
    and when you see the picture you like, hit the "print screen" button (key) on your keyboard, it is somewhere at the upper right corner on keyboard, normally next to "scroll lock" key. The text on the key that you are looking fo is "Prt Sc" or something like that.
    Next go to photoshop, select new file from file menu,
    and when new file opens, select paste from the edit menu, and you see your screen of when you used the print screen.
    Now you only have to crop the image from flash out of the whole image.
    good luck
    Yani
