Convert powerpoint to htm(save as web page) and htm to powerpoint
Hi,
Using powerpoint we can save the powerpoint file to web page. Doing this will create bundle of xml and htm files along with starting index page. Clicking on index page will start the presentation. Is there any apis by which powerpoint files can be saved as htm(which creates bundle of htm and xml files) also vice versa. I am trying to do this. But there is no luck yet. For me converting the htm files to powerpoint is very important. This is easily done by opening the htm file in powerpoint and then say save as ppt.
Please let me know if anybody has some idea on this.

In my application i am creating a html powerpoint presentation which is the end output. You can save the normal powerpoint presentaion as web page using microsoft powerpoint. This will create a html presentation. I have used this template to create htm powerpoint presentation.
Now user wants it to be one single file while htm presentation contains bundle of xml and htm files. How can i create ppt from this htm files.

Hi,
When exporting ALV to Excel from a Web Dynpro application, the Excel file opens correctly.
But, upon calling the "Save as" entry, the dialog box is not the expected one: it is the Save as Web page one.
Although I tried to change Excel format using the standard report SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN, I didn't succeed in changing this.
Could someone point me on a customizing point I missed or a resource by Microsoft dealing with this aspect?

I don't believe that there is anything in the iPad User Guide about saving Web pages as Web archives which is what the original poster asked.
With the current iPad Safari there is no way of saving web pages. Images on web pages can be saved and, of course, web pages can be bookmarked.
To save web pages you can use another app like Goodreader. A URL in Safari can be transferred to Goodreader for downloading (add "g" before http). -

im using safari 1.3.1 in os 10.3.9You can only save a page with images in Safari 2.x which comes with OS X 10.3.x. For earlier versions you can go to Print > Save as PDF to capture and image of the page. You can use Firefox or Camino to save a page in standard html format along with a folder of images. This method allows you to view the page with any browser whereas Safari's webarchives can only be viewed in Safari.

How do I save a web page so that someone else can open it?
Sometimes I want to save web pages as archives for future reference. I thought printing as a PDF would be the most widely readable format, but items on the page are often lost and I end up with question marks.
I have just tried "Save As" to a web archive, and that works well in Safari (meaning that Safari can reopen it perfectly), but when I emailed the file to a PC user they couldn't open it. I assumed a web archive format would be readable by any web browser; obviously that's not the case.
How do I archive a web page so that it is universally readable without losing any content?A web-link won't work because the particular page I want to send requires a subscription. The story about this particular page I want to send: four of us are planning a 7-day hiking trip through some Tasmanian wilderness, and we don't go unless the weather forecast is fine. I am subscribed to a weather website, but when I send this link:

they don't get the meteograms (graphs of various weather aspects out to 10 days).
So, I want to save the particular page and send it off. In general, though, I simply want to archive certain pages.
In my limited testing it looks like:
• Safari can't save a web page accurately;
• Firefox can, but it generates a separate folder of files ( I would have to combine the two, then zip them, then email);
• iCab may be able to, but I haven't tested it yet.
I didn't think saving a web page, incorporated into a single file, would be so complicated. -
How can I save the web page by using the Page Title as the file name ?
When i use Internet Explorer ,I can save the web page by using Page Title as the file name(as default no need to adjust anything). But when i use Firefox ,It can not use the Page Title to save as the file name. How can I do that like in Internet Explorer?

How to tell Safari to open and save a web page
While on vacation, I would like to save a daily puzzle that occurs on a web site that uses the same URL for each new puzzle. Using the Energy Saver Preference panel, I can schedule a daily start up and shut down and add Safari to the Login Items. How would I tell Safari to open that URL and then save the web page to the Desktop?

An Automator workflow can save the page in a web archive format:
First download the Save Safari Web Archive workflow.
I would add two additional actions at the beginning of the workflow, each from Automator's Safari library, so that your final workflow would look like this:
1) *Get Specified URLs* -- Deselect or use the minus sign to remove the default www.apple.com address. Open your puzzle page in Safari, make it frontmost, and click on the Current Safari Page button.
2) *Display Webpages*
3) *Run AppleScript* -- No need to modify the existing script.
4) *Get Selected Finder Items*
5) *Move Finder Items* -- The desktop is default.
Save the Workflow as File Format: application, and add it to your Login Items.
It all may be for naught however. I suspect that upon your return from vacation, you'll be disappointed to find that opening any one of the saved files will only result in opening the current day's puzzle. For example, on Tuesday April 29th, the puzzle linked from the URL you posted opened the puzzle for +that day,+ Puzzle Number 760. A quick look at the 30 Day Killer archive (scroll down the page) reveals that each day's puzzle has its own URL. The actual URL for Puzzle Number 760 is:

You'll notice that the URLs for the individual days' puzzles in the Killer Archive differ only in the dates appended to them. You would likely need to find a way to incorporate that pattern into an AppleScript -- correlating the current date to the updated URL.

On items listed on ebay, you can click on a picture to enlarge it. With IE I can save the picture to my computer. Firefox only allows me to save the web page. What can I do to save pictures - .jpg or .bmp?
The same problem happens if the seller includes pictures in the text description.Now I cannot create a screenshot because the massage doesn't appear anymore.
I was told that this is not my problem only. Is it the recent update that broke somethng? I've all the accounts configured correctly, MT just doesn't send or download messages.
I tried to remove one of my accounts to re-set it, but when I tried to configure it once again Mozilla rejects it claiming the password is wrong. I triple checked, it's correct. -
When I am in safari, I try to bookmark a web page and it is not doing it, it worked before I updated to the ios6 version, does any one know why ? It pulls up the screen to save it but then it is not showing up on the bookmark drop down menu, it continues to show the standard google,iPad user guide, yahoo....
hello sofg777, when you're at a page you want to print try to press ctrl+P and select a different printer than the Microsoft XPS Document Writer which seems to be set as your default printer in firefox at the moment.

Downloaded 5.1.1 to my iphone. Now, Safari will not connect to my server. Can not download web pages and many of my apps. Email seems to be ok. iphone running slow and sluggish. I have read several other users have experienced the same problem. Any solutions?
Basic troubleshooting steps oultlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
You need to go through all steps in succession until your problem is solved. If going through ALL these steps fails to resolve your issue, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible replacement. -
How can I use Automator or AppleScript to get text from a web page and paste it in execl?
I don't know how to make scripts or complexed automator workflows... that's why I'm asking.
I'm trying to make a simple app or script to ask me what text to extract from a web page, like name, address and phone number of a web page and paste each one of these data in the righ cell of excel.
I was thinking to promt a request from automator or an applescript to ask me which text to extract from the page or to look throught the HTML of the page to search for specific html tags, from which extracting text and then importing it, or paste it to the specified execl cell. Name in the name cell, address in the address cell and so on.
Can somebody help me to make this script?

Want user to click on pic from my Web page and for it to enlarge in awindow
I've uploaded my pic from iPhoto and placed in on my page in iWeb. I want the user to be able to click on the pic on my web page and for the page to "enlarge" so the user can see it better. Possibly in a new window.

I'm trying to copy text from a web page, and when I paste it in Note or in a new email, it copied the web page link, not the text. Doing this in iPad. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
I think it depends on what you are trying to copy.
To copy, put your finger on the text and hold until the copy thing shows up. Adjust the size to whatnyou want, then touch copy.( I know, you already knew that). To paste, touch the screen where you want it to go until the paste thing shows up.
I just did it

Some pages are set up so that you cannot copy words or images.
So try a different page to see if you are doing it right.

I am starting to work on some dynamic web pages to upload

Have the form post to an asp page that retrieves the form
values and displays them in the format you want. Give them the
choice to go back and make changes or submit. The second page can
also be a form that you dynamically populate from the first page
values.
I'm not really sure what the benefit of this is. Why do the
users need a different page to review what they input from the
original page? What added value will there be?
