Convert Quicktime (.mov) file to a Flash movie?

I have Flash CS3 that came with Adobe Creative Suite. I Never
used it but can it convert a Quicktime (.mov) file to a Flash movie
so I can play it on the web? If so where do I start? I also want
the viewer to be able to stop and start the Flash movie. I guess I
need a skin or something?
Also I'm confused about the difference between a FLV and SWF
file. Which one do I need for the web?
Thanks,

not really - you can export the MOV to an FLV and run that
through the flash player at runtime. You
can also import the MOV into flash doc. depends.

Flash is not a video editor - i would get yourself quicktime
Pro ($30 US) and open your MOV and
export as an Image Sequence - then from flash import the
first image into it - flash will detect the
numerically named files and prompt you to import them all -
they will end up as individual images in
keyframes on the timeline.
But sounds to me like you are trying to use flash to edit
video - not recommended as flash was never
intended to be used this way.

  • Is there a program that converts Quicktime video files into Media Player?

Is there a program that converts Quicktime video files into Media Player video files?
      Windows XP

Windows Media Player on a PC plays avi and mpg in addition to the WMV and ASF files so you can either use a Windows program that generates those files from .mov format or you can use QT Pro to convert the .mov to uncompressed avi and then use Windows Media Encoder to make WMV files. Although it may be out there no one here has mentioned a PC program that converts directly from .mov format to WMV. There is a program for Mac OS that does it and I believe that company is working on a version for Intel Macs so it wouldn't be much of a stretch for them to port it to Windows.

Type    .mov     into Spotlight search to see if any files show, other than the one you know about.
Also you can try other types like    .mp4

  • Updating PSD files in a Flash movie

Hello.  I'll start off by saying that I'm new to Flash.  I'm using the CS5 Web Premium suite and want to publish an updated version of a Flash movie that contains PhotoShop files which I've recently modified.  Unfortunately, when I open the .FLA file in Flash Professional CS5, it's not apparent to me how to do this.  I don't see the PhotoShop files anywhere in the Library pane and thus can't figure out a way to update the Flash movie to recognize my newly modified .PSD files.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
In Flash you'll have to import those PSD files which can then be used as bitmaps and/or movie clips. Simply click on File -> Import and select the PSD file. Then you'll be presented with a dialog where you can select which layers to import.
    Hope this helps.
    Valerio.

No, you cannot visually incorporate a PHP file into a Flash file.

  • Best way to embed an Mov file into interactive flash game?

    Hey,
just a quick query. I'm creating an interactive flash game for a university project. It's along the lines of Guitar Hero, Tap Tap Revolution, Boom Boom Rocket etc..
At the moment the game comprises of streaks of notes generated by Actionscript which the user much hit the corresponding key when notes are in the receptor. The background at the moment is an audio spectrum analyser created using AS based on the music playing.
I want to add loop movie file as the very background of the stage and was just wondering what was the best way to place it there with the least ammount of overheads. At the moment I have it in a child movie clip placed on the stage, in which I use File -> Import and embeded the FLV file into the time line. This works, however lags out quite badly.
    Any help would be appriciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    John Minns

    Have you tried this method?
    1. Save as new file.
    2. With your usual color management preferences selected, run Xtras>Color>'Name all colors'.
    3. In color swatches list, select all colors. From swatches pop-up menu 'Make RGB'.
    4. In Preferences>Color, set color management settings to 'None'. The RGB colors should look about the same as they did with color management on.
Now you should be able to export to Flash with RGB colors that look quite close to your CMYK version of the file.
This should work the same in FH9 or FHMX. I hope it does the trick for you.

  • How do I combine several mov files into a larger mov file?

I am just getting started with Premiere Elements (12.0) and have what seems to me to be a very simple goal.  I have several short ".mov" movies and would like to combine them into a single ".mov" movie.  I have gone through the menus and can't find a way to do this.  If someone would point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks for the reply.
There is no reason why you should not be able to export your Timeline content to a file with a .mov file extension with several choices for video compression.
From your details, I suspect I know the problem that has not surfaced until your latest post.
When you get to Publish+Share/Computer, there are several choices. Adobe Flash Video with one of its export f4v is a choice not the default for the exports under Publish+Share/Computer. The categories to select from under Publish+Share/Computer include, from top to bottom...
    Adobe Flash Video
    MPEG
    AVCHD
    XAVC=S
    AVI
    Windows Media
    QuickTime
    Image
    Audio
It is the QuickTime choice which will give you the exports with the .mov file extension. And, you can select from a large number of video codecs to go with the .mov file extension. But, to make that choice, you need to
    (a) Have the latest version of QuickTime installed on your computer
    (b) Use the scroll bar to the right of the list to get to the bottom of the list where you will find QuickTime.
Example for you to look at if you have not already...if your source is 1920 x 1080p24...
    Then
    Import....
    Project Preset
    NTSC
    DSLR
    1080p
    DSLR 1080p 24
    Export
    Publish+Share
    Computer
    QuickTime
with Presets = NTSC DV 16L9
then, under the Advanced Button/Video Tab, customize the Export Settings...See screenshot below
Leave the Bitrate Settings without the check mark next to "Limit Data Rate to" for this first run.
Depending on the file size of the export, next time we can type a specific data rate value in that field.
Please review, consider, and then let us know if you are OK with the information provided.
    Thank you.

  • Convert QuickTime VR file into Screen Saver

I took a 360 degree panoramic photo with my camera and used the camera software to stitch them together and create a quicktime vr file. When I open the file I can manually pan around and around endlessly. I found free programs that can create a screensaver from a movie file that plays by itself. Any ideas on how to convert the manually panning image into a video?
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Open the file in QuickTime Player and drag the lower right corner to get the size as large as practical. Use the - to zoom out (Control key also does this).
Use the keyboard shortcut Command-Shift-4 to turn the mouse into "cross-hairs" and carefully drag from upper left to lower right while holding down the mouse. Try to avoid capturing any of the QuickTime window. When doing the Command-Shift-4 combo do not have the cursor over the QuickTime file (Shift key will zoom).
Adjust the QTVR file and make as many captures as are needed and assemble them using an image editing app. Because wide angle lenses are used in making these QTVR's you may also need to "skew" some of the images before pasting them into the final image to re-create the wide angle look of the original shot.

I didn't bother skewing and only used two images but you get the idea.
Probably not worth the the work but it could be done.

  • Controlling Captivate movies from a parent Flash movie

Hello, i am in the works of onverting my old AS2 code, for controlling Captivate movies lodaded into a Flash container, over to AS3 becasue of the transition to Captivate 5. There were some weird issues in AS2 and Captivate 3 which i fortunately vere able to solve when i first made this container. Now i am getting weird and unpredictable results when trying to set the appropriate variables in the Captivate move. The main culprit is: rdcmndRewindAndStop, it does indeed rewind the movie, but... it starts playing again... Could anyone be so kind to give me the reason why or better even provide me with a solution to this unneeded change, its quite annoying, and no rdcmndPause does not help, not before rdcmndRewindAndStop or after, the movie is happily trottling along...
    sincerely
Frustrated developer with a bloody short deadline

Hello and thanks for replying, yes it worked! But... we have to manually edit 40+ files to make this stupid thing to work... Do you know if there is any way i can put those scripts in a flash object, or better even modify the movie from the parent container? This is making our production process way longer than is affordable tbh, a single project consists usually of over 100 captivate movies, and we simply can't manually edit each and every one of them.
I wish i could get my hands on a Captivate developer ;p

  • FCE4.0.1 project file (.fcp) to .mov file. On playback.mov freezes

I have a 25 minute project which, in nested form, plays perfectly when it is in the project file format (.fcp) But once transcoded to .mov, which I do to make a self contained movie, it always, after conversion and on playback, freezes at one particular spot. To get over this I trashed the clip where the freeze happened and re imported it to the FCE Timeline. But, again, once transcoded to .mov, it froze. In exporting from .fcp I go this way : Open the projerct file>Export>QT. Then I give the file a name and pathway and waited while the process happened. Has anyone got any idea what is causing this problem? Or any way of getting that .fcp to an mp4 file without going via a .mov file. My end format for the client is an mp4 file but I do like to hold the project as a .mov master, if possible

First thing I would do is trash all the render files, then re-render the entire project, then try exporting again.
To trash the render files:  carefully delete all the files in ~/Final Cut Express Documents/Render Files  (unless you set up a different folder for render files)
To re-render the entire project, do both of the following:
Sequence > Render All > Both
Sequence > Render Only > Mixdown
Then save your project.  Then try exporting again.
BTW, how full is your hard drive?  A loaded hard drive can cause all sorts of gremlins with video.   Also, are you using the same hard drive for both your source media files *AND* as your export location?
ps.  You can export directly to MP4 by doing Export > Using QuickTime Conversion and choosing the appropriate settings (Format > MPEG4 & related options).

  • Convert QuickTime Video Files for Offline Viewing

How can I convert QuickTime files for offline viewing?

Even with QuickTime Pro, it is possible to protect a QuickTime video file from being downloaded directly. But, if it's not specifically protected, QuickTime Pro will allow you to download many QuickTime videos.
If you come across a video that is protected, you may be able to use a utility like to record the video as it's playing on your screen and then save it as a stand-alone file.

  • FCP Movie File or Quick Time Movie

Which format is used for what?
Which is best for backups? Does FCP Movie file (selfcontained) give worse quality if I store my videos in this format?
Which is best for exporting to DVD Strudio Pro?
To export a quick time movie file takes me two hours, for FCP movie file its's 15 minutes...

Well, in my case the more options I have, the more confused i get
I understood the "Using Quick Time Conversion > Quick Time Movie",
gives me more possibilities, while takes more time... and this happens because of some kind of recompression?
And the most simple decision is to chose the first exporting option "Quick Time Movie" ... and forget about the rest until I pend some time doing editing :)))

  • Mov files on iTunes (under movies) don't appear on Apple TV menu

I have multiple movies in MOV format, only two of which appear in the Apple TV menu under computers- movies and cannot get the other movies to appear on the screen in spite of their listing under iTunes as MOV files. Suggestions anyone?
    Scott

MOV is simply the container, what's inside also counts. You have to make sure it is fully compatible.

  • Movie Not Loaded. (Flash Movie)

when i visit a particular site to watch flash movie, i get a message saying : "Movie Not Loaded" But when i check the same site on IE or Google Chrome, the movie loads.
This issue started after i updated to the latest Firefox 4.0.1. I had also updated the flash plugins but still the same problem.

I had the same problem. I tried all the solutions above from cor-el without any luck.
But after clearing offline storage, youtube started working again.

  • Reading a TXT file from a Flash Movie

Using "LoadVariables" to establish a connection between the
running Flash program and a text file in the same folder works just
as expected with no problems. I am on a Windows machine and using
the recipe from the fabulous help system.
The problem - yes there IS a problem - arises when the text
    file contains special Danish characters.
The odd part here is, that everything works fine from inside
Falsh using "Test Movie", but not when publishing the movie and
launching from inside a browser (both IE and Firefox).
The help system says, that data should be URL-encoded. Trying
that (characters %e6, %f8 and %e5) does not fix anything. The input
is read, but the offending character is gobbled up along with the
two next characters, or the program simply hangs.
    Any suggestions?[

No i didn't do that in my first series of tries. Following
your suggestion I did that (embedding Latin I, that should contain
all the necessary characters), but it didn't do the trick. Actually
it prevented my writing to a dynamic text field intended to
    interact with the user.
Using English cahracters only it worked fine (with invisible
    text ;-) ).
Using Danish characters I got the same result: Not working
    properly.
Using the Danish characters from inside Flash to fill in text
fields (static, dynamic and input) normally works fine, so I am
    puzzled - still
