Convert Sample Rate on Import- does not work

Setting: *"Automatically convert sample rate of imported audio"*
You'll want to set this if you have audio on your computer
that wasn't sampled at 44k. It prevents your imported audio from
sounding like Mickey Mouse drinking a gallon of espresso and inhaling helium.
HOWEVER...It does NOT work when you drag audio into the project from
Logic's internal File Browser.
Dragging audio into the project from Logic's Browser,
or browsing to the file in Logic's Browser and choosing to
"Add selected Files to Audio Bin",
will NOT convert to the audio's sample rate.
Sample rate of your audio is only converted if you do: "Import audio file",
then browse to the file(again) in a popup browser dialog, and then choose import.
If the audio is already in your Audio Bin, choosing "Convert File"
will bring up another Finder Dialog asking you where you want the
converted audio to be placed.
Now you'll have to Browse (yet again) to the song's folder, because that's where
you'll probably want it anyway, and choose to put
your converted audio into the song's folder.
Please realize: If a composer or producer wants his/her audio to sound like
Mickey Mouse on Helium and Espresso, he will do it after the fact, on purpose, using a plugin.
Is it too much to ask, to have this Setting do what it says it does, with ALL audio brought into the song?
No matter how I bring audio material into a Project, the sample rate should always conform
to the Project's sample rate.

I've been using Captivate since version 1. And to be honest, I'm not sure I've ever seen the option work. If it does work, I'd also like to know under what conditions it works. Perhaps it only works with certain applications. I'm not sure. Largely I've ignored the option exists because I've never recorded anything where I wanted tooltips to be an option. I've never wanted to simulate to that detail.
You should probably consider filing a bug report.

I have iMovie '11, and I am unable to access mpeg HD video files that I want to edit. The files are fine (I can open and watch them using VLC), but I cannot seem to import the files into iMovie. File Import does not work. Any suggestions??

More detail: I have a bunch of mpeg HD video files that were shot on a SONY HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder. I would like to edit these into a single video production. I can access and view the mpeg files using VLC (Quicktime does not work with them). However, I seem to be unable to get the mpeg files to interface with iMovie '11 -- I cannot use the File --> Import command, nor can I drag-and-drop them into iMovie.
Is there something anyone might suggest to get this to work? Or are these files incompatible with iMovie? If so, I assume I must purchase a different video editing software program (e.g. Adobe Premeir Pro). Suggestions???

Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
    To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation? Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.

Iphoto 11 is frozen on finishing import. Stop import does not work. How do I fix this?

I tried to import photos by dragging a group of them to an album and the import started, but does not finish. When I press stop import, it does not respond. How do I fix this? I think that it happened with iphone pictures, but could have been a SD card from my camera, and I ejected it before it finished since I could not get the import to work or stop.

Force Quit the app - it's under the Apple menu.

Formula function in formula of type Rate Value Calculation does not work

Hi,
We are trying to prorate eligible salary based on some business rules.
We have defined Standard rates with calculation method as 'Calculate for Enrollment Rule' and attached a formula in the 'Value Rule' field.
Now inside the formula, if i directly return a value like 'Return 9000' , it works correctly. However, if i have a fomrula function and return the value as follows,
l_value = CUSTOM_FF_FUNCTION()
retunr l_value
it does not return value.
I have attached a package function that simply returns 4000 just for debugging.
Even this does not return the value back to the formula
Any pointers will be useful

Sorry. I had not checked this post earlier.
We had 2 functions with same name and same contexts on the same database. Each of the functions called a separate package function and had its own logic.
So sometimes the first function was called.At some other times, the second function was called.
We deleted one of the functions and the formula worked well.

Data Re-Import does not work for some records stating there are duplicates

Thousands work, hundreds do not with the failure code "A record was not created or updated because a duplicate of the current record already exists.
Is this a data integrity issue in CRM and the same GUID is in use?
I do get a partially imported record for the import, but the data is not updated.

I am trying to update my Account records by exporting them and re-importing. I have been successful with re-importing many thousands of records but there are some which are refusing to be updated. The error I get is "a record was not created or updates
because a duplicate of the current record already exists".
This doesn't make sense to me because I'm selecting the option to prepare the data for re-import: "Make this data available for re-importing by including required column headings."
I can't find anything special about these records nor did I find anything special about the records that
were successfully imported.

Import mail function does not work for Outlook Express

working on a windows 8.1 laptop, trying to import emails from a Outlook Express directory that was moved to the new PC. Latest Thunderbird is running and the import starts and then very quickly finishes without importing anything.

Thunderbird import does not work on my XP machine either, I already tried it. Do you mean that outlook Express has to be running at the time of import?
I did migrate the mail folder into Windows live email, so I have access to the email but only as a kludgy 2 email solution.
Thunderbird does not recognize Live Mail, so that was not helpful.
I think the import broke in some previous release and has not been tested lately.

Importing element definition from an EDD into a template - does not work

FM 10.0.1 German on Windows XP SP3.
When importing the element definitions from an existing EDD into an existing template, FrameMaker converts the template into a new EDD.
So the element definitions which are correctly defined do not appear in the template.
The highest level element is than ElementCatalog in the template and not the higherst lvel element defined in the EDD.
In FM9 this was no issue.
Any help is appreciated, I have a deadline and must do some changes in the EDD.

EDD is english (Version FM7.0), Interface language is German.
Maybe it´s a localization issue.

defective EDD.

No question the behavior you describe is a bug. However, I am unable to
duplicate it. I created an EDD with two element definitions:
Element (Container): doc
Valid as the highest-level element.
General rule: (
When I imported element definitions from this EDD into a new portrait
document, FM reports that element a is referenced but not defined and that
b is defined but not referenced. However, with all elements listed, the
element catalog shows a, b, and doc. The metatemplate elements are not
available.
I wonder if this is a language-dependent problem. Is your EDD German or
English? What about your user interface?
Can you send me a short EDD that fails as you've described?

Import package does not work - beginner help

Hi, I'm a beginner with java. I just trying to figure out how to use packages. I followed everything in the tutorial, but I can't figure out why my simple example does not work.
I made the following directories three, for the sake of the example.
in /home/username/Desktop I created a directory named it
inside it I created prove
inside prove I created test1 and test2
Inside test1 I created the following sample class:

}in the directory test2 I created this other one:

As I said in test1 there is HelloWorld.java and in test2 HelloWorldProgram.java.
When I compile HelloWorld.java, it worked fine.
When I try to compile HelloWorldProgram.java, the compiler says that cannot find package it.prove.test1..
Why that? What did I make wrong?

Assuming you are running on Windows here.
Packages are directly tied to the classpath. Before java can find the it.prove.test1 package, it needs to be a part of the classpath. To make this possible, you need to add the root of the path, where the 'it' directory is in, to the classpath, like this:
javac -cp .;/home/username/Desktop file.java
the -cp switch tells java which classpath to use; it consists of two elements:
. = current directory
/home/username/Desktop = the directory containing the 'it' package root
When run like this, it should work. The same goes for running the code, you would run it like this:
java -cp .;/home/username/Desktop it.prove.test2.HelloWorldProgram
Hope that gives you the hints you need.

Why my AVI file, once imported in Adobe premiere 4, does not work there ?

I created an AVI file from 3D Studio Max. It works fine with VLC and any other player. Once I import it into Adobe Premiere, it does not work at all. All it gives me is a still image of the first frame of the movie. PLEASE help me !!!!! I have a presentation next week and I don't know what to do !

Technical informations:
PC with Windows 7 64-bit, Lightroom 5.7.1 64-bit installed.
What I have done:
I downloaded the newest LR 5.71 and installed it again - mode repair; without success
I checked my PC with Norton 360: full scanning and optimizing registry
I restarted the PC and than I installed the LR 5.7 again - repair
Trouble 1:
Two days ago I could work with my LR 5 and to import pictures from a SD was no problem. Now I can start LR 5 and I can watch/modify pictures, but as soon as I try to import new pictures LR 5 stops and gives the message "your LR 5 64-bit does not work correctly - searching for solution". I have not changed anything in my computer since lasttime LR 5 worked properly, only the registry was optimized by Norton 360.
Trouble 2:
I live in Switzerland and my language ist German. I dit not find a place where I can present my problem in German, e.g. a phone number oder email-address oder german-chat. My English is to week for a discussion for computer problems and do understand it.
Help:
I would very appreciate if anybody can help me, either to trouble 1 or to trouble 2. Thanks.

Steve Muenchs file upload sample (No. 69) does not work with JDev 10.1.3.1

I installed and started Steves sample about uploading and storing OrdImage types (http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/muench/jsfordimage/JSFOrdImageExample.zip).
When I try to upload a file I get an exception:
java.io.EOFException: Per-request disk space limits exceeded.

I managed to correct this problem.
The situation is the following:
A CRUD page (Example: userList.jsp and userForm.jsp).
The first page there is a af:table with tableSelectOne and a Edit button. (theres also other components, like af:menuBar and af:form, html, body and head)
On submit, the backing bean(requestScope) gets the selected object (table.getSelectedRowData()), copy the values to the form fields and send (redirect=false) to the form page.
When i try to update, the fileupload does not work and ignores the valueChangeListener. All the other fields are updated correctly.
The form page is used to do Inserts and the upload works correctly.
The problem is, when you redirect (redirect=false) from userList.jsp (usesFileUpload="false")
to the other page, that uses the upload, the form page does not get the enctype="multipart/form-data"
To solve it, put usesUpload="true" in both page , and you will get enctype="multipart/form-data", and upload to work.
Changing components, the af:menuBar has a similar problem.
I got a menubar with 2 goMenuItem.
On each page the corresponding goMenuItem has selected="true".
On redirect, from list page to form page, the selected goMenuItem is the one on the ListaPage, and not the form page! It only changes if I click on the tab I want!

Usage Notes
The DATA_REMAP procedure is only supported for Export and Import operations. It allows you to manipulate user data being exported or imported. The name of the remap determines the remap operation to be performed.
I haven't try this but, are you using the same user/schema name for the data pump operation where your object exist.. if not you can try this option as well. in that case NULL support i believe.
