Convert the Regular font to Bold

When i used the resident cartridges lexjapan or lexkorea the bold option is not available. So i used the .L4 files of lexjapan/lexkorea, renamed them (lexjapan(bold)) and set the Bold property to 1 and selected this cartridge in the presentment along with lexjapan.
Now the bold option is enabled but there is no difference between the regular font and bold font.
I think this is because though the property is changed the fontwidths are not changed in the .L4 file.
Can anyone please tell me how can i set the font to bold for fonts where the bold propery is not set.

I assume you have tried toggling the setting in Firefox between Outlook and, say, Gmail:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Applications
In the search box, type or paste '''mailto''' and pause for the list to filter.
Change the setting and OK to save it, then return to the dialog, change back, and OK again.
You also might want to toggle the setting at the OS level between Microsoft Outlook and the native Windows Mail client in a similar fashion. In Windows XP you could use IE's Options dialog, Programs tab, for this, but I'm not sure in Windows 7.
Since one possibility is a problem in your Firefox settings (including the possibility of interfering add-ons), and another is a problem at the Windows level (e.g., Registry settings), it would be useful to try to identify which one it is. One quick way to distinguish is to create a new Firefox profile. It will start up with all factory settings. You can switch back to your existing profile after testing.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
After closing Firefox, start up again in the Profile Manager as described in this article: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
With the new profile, can Firefox successfully create a message in Outlook?

    Hi gurus!
I have created smartform for pdf invoice via mail to user id. when that invoice send to user id . PDF file is getting a popup -" Adobe Reader - cannot extract the embedded font 'Ariel Bold . Some characters many not display or print correctly ".
I want to remove this unwanted popup. please provide any possible solutions.

Hi ravindra, what i can suggest you is to set a breakpoint just before ur cursor goes into the pdf part and just comment the part when it comes to the popup. its very easy and the best way to do it.
    Cheers

  • Cannot extract the embedded font ArialNarrow,Bold

I am having this problem with 2 PDF files on multiple machines. I have tried Adobe Reader 8, Acrobat Standard 9 and Reader 9.
Does anyone have any suggestions? The PDF will not display past page 2.
Arial Narrow Bold is installed on all the machines this PDF was opened on. The machines are all running XP. One machine running XP SP3 the others XP SP2.

It should display, but maybe with the wrong fonts. You may have a different font than used in the PDF. THe fact the names are the same is not necessarily enough.
I am not sure what your question has to do with the topic name. Displaying the PDF and extracting fonts are different things. Bill

  • Can't apply -fx-font-weight: bold;

Hi. I'm trying to apply this style to Labels :
    .label {
    -fx-text-fill: gray;
    -fx-font-weight: bold;
The gray fill is ok , but bold weight doesn't work.
    I'm using MacOS JavaFX 2.1 b17.
Am i doing something wrong ?
    thanks

I can't reproduce this, the -fx-font-weight:bold style works fine for me when set either in code via setStyle or in the exact same external stylesheet you supplied (WinXPsp3, JavaFX 2.1b17, JDK7u4ea).
    My guess is either:
    1. It is a Mac specific bug.
    2. The default font used by JavaFX on the Mac does not support bold (seems really unlikely).
    3. You are not copying the correct version of your stylesheet to the binary output directory you are running the application from (most likely).
    4. You are not correctly loading the required stylesheet.
    5. You are otherwise overwriting the style somewhere else.

  • Cannot extract the embedded font...

I am encountering the following message when opening a particular .pdf:
Cannot extract the embedded font "Arial,Bold". Some characters may not display or print correctly.
I've attempted to open his file at different PCs-message persists.
    Adobe Reader 8.1.2
    Windows XP SP3
    Dell Optiplex 745
    2GB RAM

    According to this thread: http://choorucode.wordpress.com/2010/02/02/adobe-acrobat-embedded-font-error/
the error relates to a font that is used in the document that is incompatible with the version of Adobe Reader being used (or is an outdated font). On the extreme side, the font itself could be corrupted on the PC of the person who created the PDF. So, you'd want to check:
    1) Is the font file on the PC corrupted (does this happen only for documents created by one user on one machine)?
    2) Is the font outdated/unsupported?
    3) Is the font incompatible with your version of Adobe Reader?

  • CONVERT_OTF Convert TO PDF the Chinese font bold is lost

    Dear All,
When I use CONVERT_OTF Convert TO PDF the Chinese font bold is lost, but use Print to PDF method, the Font Bold can be showed normal.
Also used these reports RSTXPDFT4, RSTXPDF2UC, it does not work.
How can I solve this issue?
    Many Thanks

    Hi,Aidan,
        Thanks,
Sorry, the option CJK_USE_BOLD_IT does not exist in report RSTXPDF3 when I run this report.
I found only CJK_SMALL_FONT such as u2018CJK*u2019 in my system.
Is there a way to add CJK_USE_BOLD_IT?
When I check RSTXPDF3,I found all the options are hard copy in RSTXPDF3 list by Constants.

  • Acrobat X Converts Non-Bold Font to Bold From Word Doc

I had used Acrobat 8 at work for over three years with no problems converting any MS Office documents to PDF files.  I've purchased Acrobat X Pro for my use at home and now every time I try to convert a Word file (either a doc or a docx), it changes the font on the first page to bold and leaves the second page normal, as the original font in the Word file.  I'm not using an especially unusual font (tried it with both Californian and Antiqua, with the same results) and the font shows as embedded in the Acrobat properties, so I don't think that's the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, is this just one of those "improvements" that renders the software useless, or is it possible this is something they hope to fix soon?

I'm not sure what you mean by "checking the font for changes".  In the Word file, only items that are supposed to be bold show as bold; in Adobe, the first page shows entirely as bold and the properties show that I have both regular, italic, and bold fonts - which is correct, because the original Word file has both regular, italic, and bold fonts in it - just not where they are supposed to be (at least on the first page). Second page is fine.  And, as I mentioned, "converting it from Word 2007 using Save As PDF" - that *is* using the plug in.  My point is that whether using the Word PDF plug in or converting directly using Acrobat X created the problem.  I say "created" because this morning, it seems to be working fine.  No rhyme. No reason. Not doing anything differently.  I do know that I've seen a similar problem in a PDF letter I received from a colleague who was using Acrobat X (while I was still using 8).  She reviewed the original Word file and, like mine, it was fine, it was just in converting that the problem arose.  So I've decided that the solution involves rebooting one's 'droid.  It seems that 21st century solutions are the same as they were a quarter of a century ago.  Oh joy.
Thanks to all for the input, though.

  • Code39Wide-Regular Fonts in the crystal report cannot be embedded with PDF

    Hello ,
    Good Day!
We are using Code39Wide-Regular Fonts in the crystal report for bar codes. While converting this report to the PDF format from Crystal viewer, we are getting the following error. It seems like this particular font cannot be embedded with PDF format.
Error - Failed to Export the report
Code39Wide-Regular- Font is not allowed to be embeded in document,
    File - F:\Apps\9.40\Crystal\sfc\jobprtx.rpt
How can we solve this issue permanantly (Not a workaround )?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Philip P Oommen | Consona | 0091-80-40173801 |

Hi Philip, Due to licensing issues CR cannot embed licensed fonts in a PDF file. Your only work around is to export the report to editable Word format and then open the file in Word 2007 and get the export to PDF plug-in available from Microsoft.
This will not be fixed in this or upcoming version of CR.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Omnes Regular font converted to Chinese font

    Hi there,
One of our users just contacted us with a weird issue. Below is his email:
"I've been having a weird issue that I've never come across before (I know, just a normal email from me).
After opening a file from another designer, this chinese font has taken over my "omnes – regular" font file. Anytime I use it, it converts to this font and each time I need to change a font weight, I must do it manually. As you can imagine, I use our company font all day so this slows me down quite a bit. Have you heard of this? It seems like some sort of font virus. I've researched removing it, yet can't seem to find the original font file to get rid of, which is even weirder."
We tried moving the font family to the trash, emptying the trash, rebooting the machine, and re-adding the font family and it still is happening. Do you have any idea how we can go about fixing this?
    Thank you!

Unfortunately, it didn't help. I couldn't find any fonts ending in MM.
Below are three screenshots of the process.
    1. Select "Omnes" as a typeface
    2. Select "Regular" as font weight
    3. This ???
    Thanks again!

  • Helvetica regular font missing in Photoshop CS3, but not in CS5 on the same computer

I have both Photoshop CS3 and CS5 installed on a Windows 7 64-bit system.  Photoshop CS5 has two Helvetica fonts: one TrueType and one Type 1.  The TT version only offers italic and bold italic styles.  The T1 font offers the full suite of bold, italic, bold italic (or oblique), and medium (or regular).  This seems odd, but it's sufficient.  Photoshop CS3, on the same computer, only offers me the Helvetica TT font, with just the two styles mentioned above.  Why can't CS3 see the T1 Helvetica?  Why does the TT Helvetica only show me two styles?  In case it's relevant, I believe the Type 1 version is the only one I deliberately installed, and I recently upgraded to a 2010 version of the font made available by Adobe (to resolve another issue with Microsoft Word 2010).
    Thanks in advance!

There is by default no Helvetica on PCs. Wherever those fonts come from, is some place else. Either another program installed them or you bought the font fron Linotype. The latetr is doubtful, of course, in light of what you stated. Aside from that you may wish to check your Adobe font directory (C:\Programm Files\Common Fiels\Adobe\Fonts) vs. your system font directory. For CS3 this would be relevant. Typefaces not showing up usualyl means that multiple fonts occupy the same name or the font system can't figure out things for otehr reasons...

  • How do I change the font to bold for a label in a check box item

I am having no success with this and my internet searches throw me all over the place with no success. Can someone please explain how to change fonts for items in the most simple and basic terms. Thanks

Use HTML Form Element Attributes and type there something like style="font-weight:bold" or Form Element Option Attributes and class="fielddatabold". See my demo app for that:

  • I have Firefox 9.0.1, and a few days ago my font became Bold, I am using Times New Roman, this seems to be also the case in IE, but the Chrome is not affected, also the fonts in my Word are fine, how can I fix this problem? Thanks!

    Firefox 9.0.1,
When i write in the search box on Google the font is bold and on some website it is bold also in the gmail but on other sites it is fine.
Please let me know how can I fix this.

So, you do not see any fonts bold that shouldn't be bold?
What are your current default font settings?
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size in case you need a larger font, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

I can see the DIN font in my Dropbox but it is showing up like this:-  ._DIN-bold, no file file extension. what am I doing wrong? is it Mac?

    (1)    Adobe Type Manager (ATM) is not compatible with any version of Windows beyond Windows XP (32-bit, only). Attempting to install ATM on any newer version of Windows may actually disable Window's capability of rendering Type 1 and OpenType CFF fonts, requiring a reinstallation of Windows.
    (2)    There is no need to use ATM to install any fonts under Windows.
    (3)    The file name ._DIN-bold is indicative of a MacOS font. These fonts cannot be installed on Windows systems.
