give your table name and press edit. on the next screen select activate and adjust data. This will adjust your data in the table according to new structure

You could put the files somewhere and I can export them as QuickTime. Or you could find anyone you know who has Director. Or do the 30 day trial download
Another approach would be to play the DCR in a browser window, and do a screen recording. But that’s unlikely to give the perfect frame rate that you would get by exporting from Director.

I've got an iMac with database corruption found in the DB.. What happens if I rebuild the DB, an option the Database Utility is giving me? Will it wipe out my files or will they be protected?

I've been having issues with my iMac, particularly with the Office:Mac Suite. I took it to the Genius Bar and they confirmed there was some corruption and decided the best thing would be to transfer all my files to the external hard drive I had brought with me. After the transfer, they completely wiped all apps off the computer, then reloaded them. They then reloaded my data from the external hard drive back to the computer hard drive. I reloaded the Office mac 2008 Suite when I got home. Since then I have hooked up the external hard drive back to the computer (it's my time machine) and all is well, except, when I open any of the programs on the Office: Mac suite, I get the following message:
There is a problem with the Office database
Office might be unable to access the database or the database files might be damaged. Without the database, you might beunable to use the Address Book, Scrapbook. and other features that store your personal information
To rebuild the database, open Microsoft Office 2008/Office, and then open the Microsoft Databse Utility. For more information, open the Database Utility application, and on the Help menu, click Database Utility Help.
I did this and it gives me the option of rebuilding the DB but it gives no indication if there is danger of losing all my files. Does anybody else know what will happen? Is there another solution? Should I simply reload the Office: Mac suite again?

Copy your DB to the internal hard drive and then run the rebuilder.
It might be the in the process of reinstalling Office the copy protection file was removed and thus you need to revalidate or something also.

Database utility SE14 purpose

Hello folks,
I have read a few forums on the functionality or SE14, but and unable to understand the exact occasion on when to use this TCode.
Its been said that SE14 is automatically executed while moving the transports.
We had an issue while moving the transport to production while one of the transparent table was locked in the database.
Due to this there was an inconsistency between the SAP Application table and the Database table and the ALTER TABLE function failed.
So, my question is does SE14 adjust the DB table by using table conversion.

Unable to import table using SOA database adapter in jdeveloper

I am trying to build a simple flow to access database so I have dropped a database adapter in composite.xml and trying to configure the adapter.
I have successfully tested the database connection within the adapter configuration wizard and can view the tables as well.
But when I am selecting a table to import then I don't see any table imported in Step-5.
It doesn't show me any error. I have tried with other tables and also with other databases but can't import the tables
i have selected the table using the right arrow to right side and then clicked "OK". But the table hasn't come-up and it still says "No tables imported" in Step 5. I am trying to import from oracle database using oracle jdbc.

You have to select the required tables and move it to the blank area on right side of your selection window by clicking the arrow button.

SE14 Status-UPGRADE-Table does not exist in the database

Folks,
I have created a ztable with SPRAS and few Char fields and generated a table maintenance generator.In the Dev it is working fine but when I moved the TR to Q TR ended up with errrors "Generation of Programs and Screens".When I check in Q in SE11 I am able to see the table but with an error message "Table doesn't exist in the database".
SE14 Status for this table is getting shown as UPGRADE in Q.
Can anyone here throw some light on what exactly this status UPGRADE means and how it gets set in SE14.
In DEV,I had checked the DATABASE OBJECT>>CHECK>DISPLAY and RUNTIME OBJECT>>CHECK>>DISPLAY and it is showing Database object is consistent but where as the same in Q is showing "Table is not created in the Database".

Is Q system is newly copied? Also please check the transport order of the table creation request. Also check whether pwd of the DB user is locked?

But /why/ am I supposed to convert the catalogue database?

I have had nothing but trouble with 7 ever since I upgraded from 2 (hangs, endless hard-drive searching, corrupt catalogue, etc.). In an effort to resolve, I have considered converting the database to 7 format.
Nowhere can I find the reason to update the database though. Is it supposed to be more stable, faster etc? Any reason to believe that? My biggest fear is that it will a) get corrupt in the process or b) I won't be able to go back to version 2 if I want/need to.
Alas, I loved version 2, but version 7 is rough. My experience with Premiere (I bought the pair) is even worse. The Hard-drive searching seems to be real problem...
And let me clarify, I have been running 7 for about 4 months. But the option is there to 'convert' my catalogue. It currently says that it was created in 2.0 - I assume when I installed 7 it did not actually convert the catalogue to 7 format...

Unfortunately the problems range the gammet. Every time I sit down to do something, it seems to take FOREVER. One day it crashes, the next the catalogue is corrupt, the next the previews take forever to load, the next it hangs and takes half hour to recover etc. etc. etc...
My wife now refuses to use it - she loved 2.0.
Thanks for the response though. I suppose I will just keep messing around until I see if it gets better. Most recently - I 'optimized' the catalogue. I am /sure/ that will solve all my problems. That is where I found the convert function. If I can recreate the problem - I will post the exact problem.

View-does not exist on the database

Hi Experts,
Our Data Source/Extract Structure (R/3) is based on a view.
There is an Issue with the View/DAta Source
If i go to SE11>view Name> Display then i am getting
'View ZART_ATTRS is not in the database' and then the next screen is the view definition
This is a database view which is defined in the ABAP/4 Dictionary but does not exist on the database. No data can be read for this reason
If i go to RSO2 and enter data source name and select display...
Then it will display data source status as 'Saved' how can i activate it
and i go to RSA6 select my Z data source which is based on the above view....context menu display data source/Check data source...when i get error
'Only Tables and views are permitted for extraction'
How can i overcome it

Hi,
As your view is existing in ABAP DICTIONARY , you need to take help of your DBA to get this created in the underlying database. This can be created using Database utility se14 transaction code. But it is good to have your DBA involved so that you have proper table space allocated to it.

Process exist in apps server but not in the database

Hi all,
10.2.0.3 2 node RAC AIX
In our application server,topas command shows some PIDs consuming high CPU. But the PID when resolved to sid in the database,no rows are returned.
Which means the process does not exist in the database.
How can I know what the process is doing in application server as it has gone zombie now?

Hi,
There are some cases when a transparent table exists in the Data Dictionary but not in the database.
1. You have just created the table and saved it. But you have not activated it.
2. There's a large amount of data in your table and you have attempted to change the key fields of the table (e.g., you are trying to delete existing key fields). This action requires you to use the database utility. During this process, the table is first physically deleted from the database and a new table is created. In the meanwhile the data from the old table is stored in a temporary table. So while the database utility is performing this operation, the table does not exist in the database for some time.

we're searching of an official SAP document (or OSS Note) that certifies the mandatory use of DB utility (SE14) when we add one or more custom fileds on an append structure of a standard table (i.e. like VBAP).
Note: The custom append Structure already exists.

Tab table in Oracle database

Hi All,
This is regarding the Tab table in the oracle database.
When I query this Tab table using a database account I cannot see some of the tables in it, where as using another database accout I can see all those tables.
Any idea why?

Having trouble converting lookout 4.5.1 database to lookout 6.1

I am trying to import my Citadel 4? database (Lookout v4.5.1) to Citadel 5 so that I can use the historical data viewer in Lookout 6.1 to export some of the data to a spreadsheet. When I tried to create a new database in MAX and chose "Convert Citadel 4 Database to Citadel 5," the older database file is not recognized. I then navigate to the database location manually and get the following error "There are no Citadel 4 databases to convert."
Any ideas? I've tried converting the database on machines running Windows XP and Windows 2000 running Lookout 6.1. Do I need to do an interim conversion with Lookout 5?
I don't think the database is corrupt because I am currently able to log and view it in Lookout v4.5.1.
Also, How can I verify that my database is v4?

This is a know bug. After you install Lookout 6.1, you may not be able to create Citadel 4 database. We will give out a fix.
For now, please unzip the attached file and copy to <National Instruments>\MAX\UI Providers. Then you will be able to create/attach the old Citadel 4 database, and convert it.

How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database such as MS-SQL?
I have a third party system based on MS-SQL 2000.
Now we want to make a integration between SAP R/3(Oracle) and SQL server.
When my user releases the purchase order in R/3, the application we coded will convert the releated data to the temp database on the SQL server.
But i don't know which tools will help me reach the purpose. BAPI, LSMW, IDoc... ???
Would anybody tell me which way is better and how to do?

The question to use which method depend on your detail requirements. If you use BAPI, you need to find which Bapi can provide the data you want. Bapi normally use as a function called by external system. So you need to develop an external program like VB/Java to call this Bapi and move it to SQL. LSMW is use when you want to upload data from an external system to SAP. So it does not serve your requirement. Idoc can be use to export data to an external system. Again like Bapi, you need to find what Idoc can provide the data you want. However, it does not any programming from the external system. If I were you, based on your requirements, I think writing an Abap program that read the data you want and download it to NT/SQL server will be faster and easier.
