Opening LabView version 5.1 VIs in LabView Version 8.5

We are trying to open VIs saved in LabView version 5.1 with LabView version 8.5 and we are getting error code 10. The error message states that version 5.1 is too old to be opened in version 8.5, yet on the knowledge base files seem to indicate that it should be okay. Can you tell us how we can open these older files in LabView 8.5?

You can't. The earliest that 8.5 can open is version 6 VIs. See http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=271171. If you have any version of LabVIEW between 6.0 and 8.2, you can open them with that, save them and then open them with 8.5.

How can I convert these 250 data points in a spreadsheet file into an array???!!!

I want to convert these points(see spreadsheet file attached) into a 1-D array of numbers and plot them using a vi. I am using the readfromspreadsheet.vi and it just gives me a number 4 and plots that. Please tell me what to do...I'm confused and have a project due!!!

Save the excel spreadsheet as tab delimited text file and use "Read From Spreadsheet File" vi to read it.

Try using VLC Media Player 2.0.6. EasyWMA 3.3.5 or Music Converter 1.5.1 should be able to convert them to .mp3.

Hi Illaass, Oh yes for days and I even called and email some asking this question and no one I could find did all three so I only have to buy one program. The one I was going to download because it did two of them I read the reviews and 2 people said that a hacker was attached to the download and they changed all his search features amoung other things. So I got out of there and that was the end of that. That's why I decided to try this in case someone knows the answer. Thanks for responding though. Sandi

Converting these files for Mac

Hello, I am having alot of difficulty getting these .AVI files to run on my Macintosh. The files play the correct duration, but there's a different problem with each that doesn't allow it to work. For the first file, there's no audio at all (my speakers work fine), and the picture is entirely black. I tried using DivX Doctor II but all it fixed was the audio. The video is still not appearing at all. I tried using DivX Converter (which took a long while), and the only change was that the picture now is all white rather than black. I wanted to burn this file to a DVD, but putting it in Toast Titanium didn't change it either. I've been looking all over the internet and have downloaded stuff hoping it would help and I have no luck (Flip4Mac, for example, did nothing at all). Quicktime tells me there may be something about this file that requires a codec I don't have, so it takes me to their page, but I didn't see anything there either. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/resources/components.html

One difference I've noticed in AVI files I can play is that the Format is DivX 5.0 rather than WMV3. This apparently has something to do with me not being able to view these on the Mac. With my PC, with VLC player especially, they run fine. But they don't work on my Mac, even with the Mac version of VLC, and even so I don't see how it'd help with getting Toast to see it. All I can see to do is convert these files. I posted about this on a different forum and was told they can only be converted on a PC. But I have no idea what to use to convert them. Here's the information on the other two files:
Second file:

VLC for Mac? For the first, it says "An error has occured which has probably prevented the execution of your request: main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `WMV3'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format."
For the second, it says "An error has occured which has probably prevented the execution of your request: ffmpeg: more than 5 seconds of late video -> dropping frame (computer too slow ?)"
VLC will play the third, but I still can't get Toast Titanium to see it.

You can typcast the VISA Resource Name, but I usually just treat it like a string. You can connect it directly to string indicators or to any VI that takes a string input. You can even search, concatenate and split it like a string. You can also feed strings into the VISA Resource Name inputs of the VISA functions.

Okay, first suggestion is to never create database connections in JSP/Servlet. SInce you mentioned MVC, JSP is the View, and a servlet can be the controller to process requests and redirect accordingly.
This piece of code should be in a class invoked from the model layer (business logic components) preferably with some abstraction. Maybe you should search around for DAO pattern. That might give you an idea.

What Julianne said at first about re-linking made perfect sense and I followed it easily, had actually already been there. But in my situation now, it didn't have any effect. The directory of folders which had already been added were still just as they were, and the outstanding balance are not in the desired position. And the folders which had been brought in earlier today when I clicked "synchronize folder", were still missing all the metadata.
Maybe this means I need to start over, and I'm fine about doing that that, but I don't know what it takes to accomplish that. I'm concerned now that any changes I make out of guesswork could only make the problem harder to resolve. It just feels to me like something I did at the beginning just wasn't right, and now it's a tangle.
Can you advise?

Being able to read your texts is really important and we'll be happy to help you get them working correctly. How long has this issue been going on for? Has texting ever worked correctly for you?
Also, when you receive texts as all symbols do you know what is contained in those texts? Are there any images in them by chance? Even a smily? If the person sending you the message tries to send it again are you able to read it?

The
User Controls and User Libraries palettes
contain subpalettes for each directory, LLB, or palette (.mnu) file in labview\user.lib and icons for each file in labview\user.lib.
Save
subVIs in the user.lib directory only if they are usable, without
modification, across projects. Paths to VIs in user.lib are relative to the labview directory. Paths to subVIs you save elsewhere are
relative to the parent VI. Therefore, copying a VI from user.lib to modify it for a special case does not change
the path to its subVIs located in user.lib.
Caution Do not save
your own VIs and other files in LLB
files installed with LabVIEW. Save your controls and VIs in the user.lib directory to add them to the
Controls and Functions
palettes.
Complete the following steps to add new VIs and controls to the
user palettes.
Save the controls and VIs in the labview\user.lib directory to add them to the
User Controls and User Libraries palettes,
respectively.
Restart LabVIEW. LabVIEW updates the palettes to contain the controls and
