Hi,
Is there a built-in or freely available actionscript function
that would convert time from digits to words. For example, "9:30"
becomes "half past nine"?

oops, missed the requirement for numbers as words, added that
in:
edit: fixed '1 minutes past' changed to '1 minute past'
edit2:clarity with Number type on hour

I can't say, but if that's the answer, trying to get it fixed might be impossible. Instead, I'd suggest compressing your attachments to create a .zip file. Decompression at the other end would take no time, and if the server changes the attachment's file type, just change it back to .zip.

You can use FM HRVE_CONVERT_TIME to convert time to 24 hour format.
Pass B in TYPE_TIME parameter and time you wish to convert to along with AM/PM in INPUT_AM_PM parameter.

I can't see much from the photo, but I assume your formula is similar to the one I've used below:
The same formula is used in F4 and F6, and both return the same result (shown in F4).
F4 was left on "automatic" cell format, and the column widened to accomodate the repeating decimal to the point where Numbers would begin displaying zeros.
F6 was formatted as shown in the Cell Inspector to show only two decimal places.
Neither of these is an "exact" decimal, as it is not possible to use a decimal fraction to "exactly" represent 1/6 (or 10/60).
The likely reasons for yours showing a whole number of hours is a difference between your formula and the one shown in the example here, or a difference in the number of decimal places set in the cell's format.

PS: To take a screen shot:
Place the mouse pointer at the top left corner of the area you want to nclude in the shot.
Press shift-command-4.
Use the mouse to drag a selection rectangle contining the part of the screen you want to include.
Release the mouse button. (You'll hear the sound of a camera shutter 'snapping' the picture.)
The screen shot will be saved to your desktop with the name 'screen shot' followed by the date and time.
The image may be posted to the discussion using the same steps you used to post the photo above.

After converting your file a box will appear on top of the window showing 'Download' option.
When click on that your file will be downloaded and it will show the notification at the bottom.
Click on arrow -> 'Show In Folder'.
It will direct you to the location where your file has saved.

You can create a custom infoobject length 6 (say mytime) to read the data from csv file.
In the field routine assign the 6 character length info object to the required time IO(system time) with routine.
Inside the field routine...
result = source_fields-mytime.
The system will take care of conversion as per the user master setting.

I'm sorry that you're having trouble converting a document. For starters, have you verified that your account is active? (You can check by logging in to www.adobe.com and checking under My Subscriptions and Services). Aside from that, I'll need a little more info to get to the bottom of your problem.
Are you trying to convert the file from within Reader, or directly via the ExportPDF website?
What operating system and browser are you using?
How large is the file that you're trying to convert? (There's a file-size limit of 100 MB.)
Is the computer that you're using networked?
Do other files convert without error?

Referring to your previous message when you said you'd converted via Acrobat and not Acrobat.com, I'm converting via Acrobat.com because that's the only option that is shown (how do I convert via Acrobat? - perhaps that would be more successful). I'm using the Export PDF website, and the OCR is enabled to "Recognize text in English UK". However, I've just tried converting a different LPA pdf form, this time for Health & Welfare https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/245571/LPA114_He alth_welfare_LPA.pdf and again I have the same problem as before. I've altered it from "Read only" and thought I'd then be able to enter text, but "Drawing Tools" is shown in the pane and I'm unable to enter anything onto the form - everything appears to be in images. Also, the lettering on the heading of' page 1 has become jumbled, with the word "Public" overlaying the word "Guardian." Any suggestions as to what it is I'm doing wrong would be welcome - I don't like to be beaten!

Ok, fine. That isn't Acrobat, and that's why our instructions weren't much use. (But it's worth saying "I didn't have that option" rather than "it's not converting", we could end up wasting a lot of your time with the wrong stuff!)
Anyway, the free Adobe Reader can't do this conversion without a subscription called either ExportPDF or PDF Pack. You may have had one in the past. Are you still paying for one?

i cant convert from pdf to word - when i sign in it greys out the conversion setting so i cant use it - what am i missing?

I have paid upfront for adobe acrobat pro x1 and I have wasted a ton of time trying to convert a simple file from pdf to word (it worked a wk ago so what has changed?). All I see is a bunch of people having problems and no real solutions, and I am coming up to 24hrs!!
I wonder if customer service from adobe (does this exist?) will jump in any time soon to help resolve?
