Convert to aac not working

Is anyone else having the same problem with iTunes 12 not being able to convert mp3's to AAC without cutting all the songs down to the same time length as the 1st song?

Doesn't seem a widespread issue. One post from 2013 and one more recent one but iTunes for Windows. I presume you want to know more than simply if others have observed this behavior in the past 10+ years of iTunes. Your answer seems to be, "Yes, but not enough that anybody has a solution for it".
If you want to know why I suggest you start doing a general web search or a structured research project on your own if it is doing this with all mp3 files, only those of a certain bitrate or source, etc. Make sure you also document your computer configuration, all software. Then start deleting things and see if they are in conflict. Document all steps carefully and send reports to the software engineers for the components involved.
Me, I would just use a third party converter such as Max or XLD and get on with it.

Depends on your model TV. Read your TV user manual. The newer models have "how to hookup" instructions for computer & games.
You can also do a forum search as well as a Google search.

Converting from MP3 to AAC not working

When I try to convert any of my songs in iTunes I get an error message saying: "An unknown error occurred (0x77686174)." This only happens when trying to convert to AAC. I have tried to convert to AIFF, and Apple Loseless Encoder and it works. I have also tried the default 128kbps and many others. Can anyone help?

i've also seen toonz say (my fault for any misreading of her post) that it's a QT error message saying something like "codec not found". so if the workarounds aren't helpful for you, we could try a careful standalone QT reinstall. see:

I have downloaded PDF Converter and its not working properly

the pdf I am attempting to convert to edit is not working. I have converted it to all that is available and the lines are off in someplaces and some data is in the wrong place when I try to Move it I can't or it makes it worse. what can I do?

ITunes conversion of Apple Lossless to AAC not working

I have all my CD's ripped to Apple Lossless. I then use iTunes to convert to 192 kbs AAC for use on my iPod. When I do this, though, the size is barely changed. Instead of taking a 23 MB lossless file down to 1 MB, it rips to about 20 MB. Has anyone else seen this? Am I doing something wrong?

Even if it is working correctly, it does not shrink it by that much. AAC at 192 with constant bit rate uses about 1.5 MB per minute of music, or 6 MB for a 4 minute song. If you use VBR, it will be higher.
As Kay suggests, make sure that your import settings are correct. Also, note that conversion creates a new file and leaves the original in place, so make sure you are looking at the new file. Its Date Added will be the date of conversion, and its "Kind" will be AAC.

Adobe Bridge CS4 - "convert to DNG" not working?

I am downloading a bunch of raw .CR2 files taken with a Canon 5D mark iii, and trying to convert them to DNG using Bridge, so that I can open them up in Camera Raw (which won't read the original CR2 files as you need CS5.5 or later). I have selected the "convert to DNG" option but the conversion doesn't seem to work, it's just copying the CR2 files over, Any idea why?

It seems you are using Photodownloader that comes with the CS version you are using currently. This Photodownloader is linked to the Raw converter of the version it is part of. So if it does not show the CR2 files as images it also won't convert to DNG
For this you need to download the latest and Free Adobe DNG converter.
Check this page, there is also an option to download the converter for either Mac or Windows

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 updates won't work? Also tried DNG converter but will not work either.

Does anyone know how to get the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 to update so you can use it? I can't process raw files with my new Canon SD Mark 3.

Next I tried the DNG converter but it was useless. It could not find any of my photos.
SOS - I needed to complete a job with this last night and their site won't help and they finally respond by saying we will get back to you in a few days.

That camera requires at least Lightroom 4.1. There is no update for Lightroom 3 that will support the files from that camera. I'm guessing that you're having the typical problem that new users at the DNG converter encounter. The converter prompts for the *FOLDER*. If you open that folder then the DNG converter will tell you there are no files to convert. Just choose the folder. I know, it's really stupid prompt and method. But it is what it is.

Air-lap-1131-ag-e-k9 convert to autonomous not working

i have a air-lap01131-ag-e-k9 that was originally in lightweight mode and configured with a controller, but i am in the process of wanting to convert to autonomous mode, i am having issues with connectivity to the AP from my laptop.
i have followed numerous guides on this forum, i have successfully
downloaded correct firmware
renamed the firmware to .default
placed this in root of tftp server folder
connected laptop via console to view output
connected laptop via Ethernet to Ethernet port of AP
changed static ip on laptop to 10.0.0.2 set subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, default gateway to 10.0.0.1
held reset button on AP when applying power and waiting for radio light to flash red
AP gets a IP address then of 10.0.0.1
But even though both laptop and AP are in the same subnet, i am unable to ping the AP from my laptop and it doesn't start the tftp process
I have disabled firewall etc, and tried with both crossover and straight through cable, it seems there is something missing at this last stage, i even tried on a second laptop but that would not ping either, am i missing something.
i acquired the AP for training purposes to help with studies and so far i have learnt a lot of troubleshooting but i would really love to get past this, any help would be really appreciated.

Edit Edit Colors Convert to Grayscale Not working

In Ai CS6 when I select all and try to convert to GS nothing seems to happen. I still have a RGB/preview and if I go back to the edit colors menu, convert to cmyk is still grayed out, suggesting that the art is still 4c. Thanks for your help!

Illy refuses to convert RGB to CMYK and CMYK to RGB, therefore the opposite is greyed out.
So you are in RGB mode.
Is there any RGB vector artwork that is non grayscale?
If there is, it may be time for the list.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:

5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);

6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Convert to word not working - answers to form questions missing

Hi there
I have a form that was filled by a client that is now in pdf format. I am trying to convert it into a word file.
All of the questions and the blank boxes for the answers are coming across, but the answers to the questions within the boxes are missing.
Help would be appreciated please.

Well, they are right pretty much. PDF forms are not for conversion into Word. The export tools are about getting the data out NOT the look of the form.
Generally, converting forms of any kind (filled or not) from PDF to Word is a non-starter. The layout will change too much OR it will be utterly uneditable in Word, rendering all practical reasons for converting to Word useless.
Conversion to Word from PDF is a way to get back the text and hint of the layout ready for re-creation.

Convert to Keyframes not working????

I have a layer and in that layer I have two pieces of media (a PNG and some text). There is a throw command attached to the whole layer with a "Ramp to final value" set. I want the movement to "ease out" but when I select everything in the layer and then say convert to keyframe ie cmd-K nothing happens, I get the "this could take some time" warning, but there are no Keyframe????
What am I doing wrong? Any ideas. First time I'm using convert to keyframes, so don't know if I'm doing the right thing.

2 things - since the behavior is attached to the layer, you need to select the layer to do convert to keyframes - if you select the objects inside the layer nothing will happen since no behaviors are applied to them directly.
Second, the Throw behavior needs to have "Affect Objects" turned off, otherwise it is applying the animation to the objects inside the layer while still applied to the layer itself.
Basically, convert to keyframes needs to work on something that has behaviors on it directly, and also is affected directly by those behaviors.

Why my music application in iphone 4 with IOS 5 not working properly??

I have Updated mine to IOS 5 and my songs are not playing pproperly from the new Music App. They are syncing properly but not playing some songs,skipping some songs and showing one song but playing another.. Its annoying..Please help me.. Thanks

Possible fix:
Had this annoying issue, or similar. Songs on my iphone 4 would skip untilit found a song it could play, but often left up on the screen a different song to the one playing. It appeared songs hadnt been transferred or were missing causingthe phone to skip the songs.
I heard that if you get a 'weird' beep noise this is the 'shake to shuffle' feature which can be turned off via Settings>Music.
If you have a similar issue to mine, I read converting to AAC (right click song in Itunes and choose 'convert to AAC) could work, and did for me, but is time consuming and duplicates the song.
What worked for me? Turning off 'convert higher bit rate songs to 128 kbps AAC' on the Devices>Your Iphone main menu (device summary page). This reloads all songs to the iphone and appears to fix the issue. I have checked a few songs I knew had issues and they now work, and I can get through 10+ shuffle songs (thats as many as I checked) without a skip.

My Unit Converter Widget is not right

I'd been stop using Unit Converter widget from Dashboard since many months ago, now it's getting very inconvenient for me because even after many OS X updates, my Unit Converter shows wrong information of the currency conversion.

I tried to delete this Widget and replace from other Mac running OS X Leopard, but it still doesn't work right. Any ideas and how can I fix this issue?

I updated to the latest OS X 10.5.4 and the unit converter widget still not working properly. Obviously Apple didn't look into this at all.
