Convert to D11 and stage disappeared
I'm updating a project to D11 Win. Among other things, the
project contains multiple movies and MIAWs. After straightening out
some issues with xtras, I managed to start my project file. While
performing the following series of steps
open MIAW
send stage from one movie to next
close MIAW
I somehow lost the stage. It's the weirdest thing. I've
restarted Director and the computer. When in author mode, the stage
is gone. I've toggled its display on and off using CNTRL+1. I've
used the message box to check its rect and its visible property. I
can view any other window -- script, paint, etc. The stage is just
a generic gray background no matter what movie I open.
The stage isn't docked anywhere. It doesn't appear to be
hidden. I only have one monitor (laptop). It's just -- gone. If I
open a movie and publish it, the projector stage appears just fine.
But I can't find my author stage anywhere.
I'm an advanced Director/Lingo guy (14 years of use) and I
feel like a retard. Is this a bug?
Replying to my own msg... I finally recovered the stage by
selecting Window > Panel Sets > Director 8.
I have no idea what caused it to disappear. If I can find a
way to reproduce, I'll post.

Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv
We need to store possibly all UTF8 chararacter in his database
especially $ & ( 4 8 < = > from WE8ISO8859P1 and from WE8ISO8859P15.
So we install an UTF8 instance and set NLS_LANG to UTF8.
We have to do select/update from a java client and sqlplus(like).
When we insert with java client it's unreadable from sqlplus and
when whe insert from sqlplus we've got 'Fail to convert between UTF8 and UCS2: failUTF8Conv '
here the code made in sqlplus
update CPW_TEST set lb_comportement='$ & ( 4 8 < = > ' WHERE ID_TEST=14805;
here the code made in java
update CPW_TEST set lb_comportement='$ & ( 4 8 < = > ' WHERE ID_TEST=14804;
and then the result in database
SELECT id_test,LB_COMPORTEMENT FROM CPW_TEST WHERE ID_TEST=14804 or ID_TEST=14805
ID_TEST LB_COMPORTEMENT
14804 B$ B& B( B4 B8 B< B= B> B

and the dump
SELECT id_test,dump(LB_COMPORTEMENT) FROM CPW_TEST WHERE ID_TEST=14804 or ID_TEST=14805

I'm not sure, but it seems that sqlplus uses true UTF8 (variable length codes) and java client uses UCS-2 (2 bytes)
How can I solve my problem?
Our configuration
javaclient (both thin and oci jdbc driver 8.1.7), sqlplus client and database Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 on the same computer (W2000 or NT4)
Thank you for yoru attention.Hi Luis, thanks for your suggestions. You're right that problem was in JServ and his JVM.
There was conflict between different versions of Java. While iFS was using JRE 1.3.1, JServ was configured to use JRE 1.1.8. As soon as I corrected link to the right Java, problem disappears.

Hello, I'm making a game in which I have some drag and drop items that they can be multiplied as many as you want. This items have to stay in the scene and I also have a bin in the menu where If you drag them they have to disappear.The problem is that I tried with multiple coordinates and they disappear also in the scene in the moment that I'm dragging them out of the menu. So, my question is:What could be wrong? Is the issue in the code?
Thank you for taking the time to help me. It's my first game in AS3 so I'm not so familiar with the codes.
import flash.display.Sprite;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
DDB1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, createDDB1);
var _DDB1:Sprite;
function createDDB1(evt:MouseEvent){
_DDB1 = new DDB1MC();
_DDB1.x = evt.stageX;
_DDB1.y = evt.stageY;
_DDB1.rotation = evt.currentTarget.rotation;
_DDB1.transform.colorTransform = evt.currentTarget.transform.colorTransform
addChild(_DDB1);
_DDB1.startDrag(false);
_DDB1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, dragDDB1);
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, dropDDB1);
function dragDDB1(evt:MouseEvent){
evt.stopPropagation();
_DDB1 = evt.currentTarget as Sprite;
_DDB1.startDrag(false);
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, dropDDB1);
function dropDDB1(e:MouseEvent):void {
_DDB1.stopDrag();
stage.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP,dropDDB1);
if (_DDB1.x>700 || _DDB1.x < 755 || _DDB1.y < 240 || _DDB1.y > 155) {
_DDB1.removeEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, dragDDB1);
_DDB1.parent.removeChild(_DDB1);
_DDB1 = null;Chances are that the problem lies in the following line:
if (_DDB1.x>700 || _DDB1.x < 755 || _DDB1.y < 240 || _DDB1.y > 155) {
That line essentially says if(the object is anywhere) due to using the OR ( || ) operator. If any one of those things is true then the condition is satisfied, which becxause they overlap will always be true for at least two of them. If that is supposed to be restricting the object to within an area you likely want to all of those conditions to be satsified. So in that case you need to use the AND operator ( && ). -
Stage disappears when using selection tool
I'm using Photoshop CS6 Extended and i discover a strange problem in some documents that makes working impossible.
When i use the normal rectangle selection tool in some documents then suddenly all the content of the stage disappears when i release the mouse
It doesn't occur with any document just with some.
Does anyone has discovered the same issue and has an idea how to solve it?Sorry, i meant canvas..."stage" was influenced by Flash
Posting a Screenshot makes no sense, because you just cant see no content anymore. All the panels are still there, but the canvas suddenly is empty in the moment i release the mouse when i'm using the selection tool.
I'm running Photoshop CS6 Extended on Windows 7 Professional 64Bit with 16GB RAM, 18GB of free disk space on an SSD.
It might be a working memory problem (?!). After closing Chrome (where i had a lot of tabs) and restarting the system, noe everything works fine. The problem is, that it happened a few times with different PSD-documents... -
Convert smart quotes and other high ascii characters to HTML
I'd like to set up Dreamweaver CS4 Mac to automatically convert smart quotes and other high ASCII characters (m-dashes, accent marks, etc.) pasted from MS Word into HTML code. Dreamweaver 8 used to do this by default, but I can't find a way to set up a similar auto-conversion in CS 4. Is this possible? If not, it really should be a preference option. I code a lot of HTML emails and it is very time consuming to convert every curly quote and dash.
Thanks,
Robert
Digital ArtsI too am having a related problem with Dreamweaver CS5 (running under Windows XP), having just upgraded from CS4 (which works fine for me) this week.
In my case, I like to convert to typographic quotes etc. in my text editor, where I can use macros I've written to speed the conversion process. So my preferred method is to key in typographic letters & symbols by hand (using ALT + ASCII key codes typed in on the numeric keypad) in my text editor, and then I copy and paste my *plain* ASCII text (no formatting other than line feeds & carriage returns) into DW's DESIGN view. DW displays my high-ASCII characters just fine in DESIGN view, and writes the proper HTML code for the character into the source code (which is where I mostly work in DW).
I've been doing it this way for years (first with GoLive, and then with DW CS4) and never encountered any problems until this week, when I upgraded to DW CS5.
But the problem I'm having may be somewhat different than what others have complained of here.
In my case, some high-ASCII (above 128) characters convert to HTML just fine, while others do not.
E.g., en and em dashes in my cut-and-paste text show as such in DESIGN mode, and the right entries
–
—
turn up in the source code. Same is true for the ampersand
&
and the copyright symbol
©
and for such foreign letters as the e with acute accent (ALT+0233)
é
What does NOT display or code correctly are the typographic quotes. E.g., when I paste in (or special paste; it doesn't seem to make any difference which I use for this) text with typographic double quotes (ALT+0147 for open quote mark and ALT+0148 for close quote mark), which should appear in source code as
“[...]”
DW strips out the ASCII encoding, displaying the inch marks in DESIGN mode, and putting this
"[...]"
in my source code.
The typographic apostrophe (ALT+0146) is treated differently still. The text I copy & paste into DW should appear as
[...]’[...]
in the source code, but instead I get the foot mark (both in DESIGN and CODE views):
I've tried adjusting the various DW settings for "encoding"
MODIFY > PAGE PROPERTIES > TITLE/ENCODING > Encoding:
and for fonts
EDIT > PREFERENCES > FONTS
but switching from "Unicode (UTF-8)" to "Western European" hasn't solved the problem (probably because in my case many of the higher ASCII characters convert just fine). So I don't think it's the encoding scheme I use that's the problem.
Whatever the problem is, it's caused me enough headaches and time lost troubleshooting that I'm planning to revert to CS4 as soon as I post this.

I downloaded and installed Production Premuim CS5 on my computer and when I try to open it out of the applications folder it bounces at the bottom and then disappears. Does anyone know why this is? I've tried everything to open them but they will not open. Does anyone else have this problem?
I have a mac osx version 10.9.2. I used to have the student version of creative cloud cs6 earlier this year. I cancelled my subscription several months ago and bought cs5 two weeks ago. I never had any problems with the cloud. I went through the entire download process for CS5, and they all showed up in my applications folder and appeared to have downloaded but every time I try to open them they bounce around next to the application manager icon and then disappear.

I have a football game recorded on a DVD+R disc that I was trying to view on my MacBook using DVD Player. The video comes onto the screen, but immediately freezes, and then disappears. An error message comes up saying that DVD player unexpectedly quit. My MacBook operating system is Mac OS X, version 10.5.8. DVD Player is App version 5.0.3, framework version 5.0.7.
However, the DVD+R works on both my Dad's and my brother's laptops. My Dad's laptop is an iBook G4 with Mac OS X operating system, version 10.3.9. The DVD Player is version 4.0. My brother's laptop is a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X operating system, version 10.7.2. The DVD Player is App version 5500.26.1 and framework version 5.5.0. The DVD+R plays fine on their laptops, but will not play on mine.
AnthonyLao Bo,
yes, you can locate and copy a file from your HD to a USB key using UNIX commands. If you know the exact name of the file which you’re trying to locate, try this:
find / -iname filename -print
This command will search your entire internal disk for the particular filename. If you know that it’s within a particular user account, then you can save search time with this variation:
find /Users/username -iname filename -print
Either variation of this command will print all files found which have the given filename. Presuming that you’re able to identify the correct file, you can copy it to a USB key using the command
cp -p filename_returned_by_find /Volumes/USB_volume
If you’re not sure which volume name your USB key has, this command will show you what the possibilities are:
ls /Volumes
Please let me know if you have any trouble with these commands. -
Safari and YouTube disappear in my iPod when I up date iOS 6, do I have to reset my iPod?
Youtube was removed by Apple in iOS 6. Safari should not be removed. Try restoring your iPod in iTunes. You should then get Safari back. Also, there is a Youtube app in the App Store. It's in the free section of the Top 25.

Function to convert PO quantity and cancelled quantity into Primary UOM
Hello,
I am looking for a function to convert PO quantity and cancelled quantity into its Primary UOM from the unit of measure the line order was placed.
Thank youhi
In case if you are already working in production remember that decimal places should not change. It will affect all previous data.
For your problem best solution is make order unit as 1000. So that your problem will solve
e.g. instead of 2.009 inr for 1 Unit use 2009 inr for 1000 unit. -
I dragged my notes from one iCloud account to another iCloud account and they disappeared. How do I find them?
Hello reallilybart,
Thank you for the question. You can export the calendar events from your previous iCloud account and then import them into your new iCloud account.
First, use these steps to export your events from your original account and make note of where you save the file to:
Export a calendar’s events
In Calendar, click the calendar’s name.If you don’t see your calendars, click Calendars.
Choose File > Export > Export.
Choose a location for the file, and then click Export. The events are exported in an iCalendar (.ics) file.
Next, quit the Calendar application, and log out of your original iCloud account in System Preferences > iCloud. Then log in with your new iCloud account and open Calendar. The final step is to import the file into the calendar for your new iCloud account
Use these steps to import the calendar events:
Import events into a calendar
If you want, create a new calendar for the events.Add or delete a calendar
Choose File > Import > Import.
Locate and select the calendar file that contains the events, and then click Import.
Choose the calendar you created or another calendar to add the events to.
You can also drag a .ics file to Calendar. The events in the file are added to the calendar that’s highlighted in the Calendar list.
You can find the full article here:

How can I convert my music, and CDs to MP3, for use in my vehicle's AM/FM/ Stereo? I have a 16 GB SDHC Card, that I would like to load up with some of my music.
Thanks for any help you can furnish.
EdWell, this question really belongs in the iTunes forum, which is where you will get fast answers.
Just go to iTunes Preferences. Click on the General icon. Set When you insert a CD to Ask to Import CD. Click on Import Settings. Set Import to MP3 decoder. Make sure you're using Good Quality.
This should deal with your CD's.
With your current music, as long as it does not have DRM restrictions (older iTunes Music did), select the song, right click on the song (or group of songs), pull down to Create MP3 version. -
I accidentally dragged the Lion download from the dock onto my desktop and it disappeared in a puff. This seems to have halted the download as it is now 8 hours since purchase and has stuck at 1.75gigs. Could anyone advise please?
The icon in the dock is NOT the file itself. You simply removed the dock icon. Go into your Applications folder and you'll find "Install Mac OSX..." and you have what you want.
