Convert to docx

convert to docx

I uploaded a test pdf file to <https://files.acrobat.com/folder/2f124a53-d8ca-4ea5-ac54-377df76512fe>, put a check in the box, checked out "Tools", but was unable to find a button to convert the pdf to MS-Word.
Since all I need the service for is pdf —> MSW, this is upsetting.
I also tried using the panel for "File as Other" with Other = Microsoft Word (*.docx).
If possible, I'd appreciate a reply at [email protected] — although I'll check Forums DOC-2412.

  • Why is it taking so long to convert my docx to PDF?

It is taking a long time to convert my docx to PDF.  My docx is 74KB and contains a picture

    Hi danielc77590163,
Did your file finish converting? If it did, you may have just run into an issue with your Internet connection/upload speed.
If it stalled, or you received an error message, please clear the browser cache and then try again. If that fails, then we'd want to take a closer look at what's going on. Do other files convert for you? Are you converting via Adobe Reader or via the ExportPDF web interface? How was this particular PDF file created?
    Best,

Thanks for replying. I am converting from MS Office Word document to Adobe Acrobat Document and opening with Reader XI - sorry my mistake.
I now notice another problem. On trying to open a specific hyperlink in the pdf version I get the message  'Acrobat does not allow connection to: www.biblegateway.com'.  Why would there be a restriction?

  • I am converting a .docx file to a pdf and the text is coming out blurry

I am trying to convert a .docx file to a pdf and the text keeps coming out blurry. Some sentences seem to be bolded in the pdf as well. All the colored text seems like there's a shadow behind it and all the text in bold seems extra blurry. I am saving the file as a pdf. I tried to print the file as a pdf but it kept crashing. I have adobe acrobat pro and distiller, but I'm not savy about which program does what.
    Thanks for any help!

If you are trying to convert a Word file, ensure the text is in 100% black only.
To create PDF's there are hundreds of different combinations that can be used, but only a few will give you a good 'print ready' file, which is what I think you may be after.
You may have font issues that are stopping the text looking sharp.
If you have Distiller, you can try to print as .ps (save as postscript), load distiller up and choose one of the high quality settings in the pop down menu.
If you are working on a Mac you can drag and drop the .ps file direcetly on the dock icon for distiller, or if you are running Windows you will need to navigate to the file via the menu bar (you will need to know where you have saved your .ps file).
There may be other issues with the original file format that is causing problems with your PDF creation.
Let me know how you get on.
    Cheers

  • Using PDF Pack to convert a .docx document containing internal hyperlinks

I just used PDF Pack to convert a .docx document to pdf format. The document contained a hyperlink to a bookmark within the document. The text converted OK, and the hyperlinked text was underlined, but not active. Clicking on the hyperlinked text did nothing. It seems that internal hyperlinks don’t convert using this software.
    Thanks for any advice

  • Pdf file could not have been converted to docx

I don't get any results, just (in german) that the file could not have been converted to docx by Adobe ExportPDF.
It's 16 pages, 4.6 MB. At least the service could make a mess out of it, but it doesn't do nothing though I paid 20 bucks for it.
Why is this happening? What can I do either to solve the problem of get my money back?

And the answer is to this FAQ is ...
Don't start the conversion right out of adobe reader.
But: go to the website, upload your file and everything works smoothly.
    Yes, go to https://exportpdf.acrobat.com/app.html ...
not a very complicated but too complicated to know for the german support helpline

  • How do I save highlighting in .pdf file when converting to .docx format?

When I try to convert a .pdf file to .docx format the highlighted words are not visible through the highlighted area.  Just blocks of color with no words showing through apear in the converted file:
    After Conversion to .docx
I created the .pdf file on an iPad using the PDF expert app, uploaded it to Dropbox, downloaded it from Dropbox on a PC laptop, and converted it to .docx.  Above is the result.  When the .pdf file is opened with Adobe reader the highlighting is as it should be (words are visible through highlighting)

    With what?

  • Pages loses formatting and text when converting from docx or doc

I receive .docx or .doc documents that I need to convert to a PDF. However, I frequently lose both formatting and text when I open the document in Pages. I don't understand how to fix the problem. I have tried copying/pasting the text into a new Pages document, but nothing changes.
Also, I have heard there is a freeware program out there that some Apple users use that retains the formatting, but I don't know the name.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I have to use a PC in the meantime.

    Hi Tricia,
Like Yvan earlier, I must confess some surprise at Pages losing text content of a Word document on translation. Formatting, yet.
The only circumstance where text loss seems at all likely is if the text was contained in a Text Frame. Even then, I would expect the frame to be converted to a Text Box, and the contents retained in the Pages document.
Meantime, I would recommend you try OpenOffice.org or NeoOffice, either of which will open .doc and .docx files, and will save to either of those formats as well. The links will take you directly to the sites for these applications.
Regarding the long download times: a 24 hour estimate would indicate you are on a dialup connection, or getting only dialup speeds. Most public libraries and a large number of coffee houses here in Canada offer free wireless hot spots that provide a high speed connection. If that's also true in Colorado, you might find it more efficient to take your MacBook to one of them for a shorter download time.

    Barry

  • Convert A3 .docx to PDF. Is it possible?

    Hello!
I have a few .docx documents but when I convert them to PDF (adobe acrobat pro extended 9) files a part of the document disappears.
Does any one knows how to do it?
    Thanks...
    The best regards!

There's a bunch to choose from here. Some are free, some are shareware.
Edit: Sorry, only one of them appears to be a Mac application. I'll look a little more.

  • Converting large .docx files in MS Word to .pdf - help?

While converting .docx files to .pdf, I have found that the 11 x 17 size (when converted) only renders with about 1/4 of the document shown.  I've redone settings and tried over and over to render the complete document without success.  Anyone know how to correct the settings?
    Thanks in advance!

Set the printer size in the Adobe PDF printer size. However, that may not do it. You did not indicate how you are converting to PDF and the exact process can make the difference in where things need to be set. Also, what versions of WORD and Acrobat?

  • Increased file size when converted from .docx to .pdf

    Hello everyone,
I have been having problems with Adobe: I need to convert a large amount of Word documents (.docx) to Adobe files (.pdf). I need to keep the size of these documents small as there are limits designated to my project. I have converted a file of 27kb recently and it turned out as 207kb pdf file. When I save this, I select "Minimum Size" when saving in the "Optimize for" area. As far as I know, when converted, .pdf files should be smaller than the original files. Please help me on this
I am using Microsoft Office 2013 and Adobe Reader XI (11.0.06)

    Not wrong. Different.
As it seems you are converting by saving as in Word, rather than using Adobe software. If you own Acrobat Pro, you can both use it to make the PDF (several different ways, many settings) and analyse the space usage.
