Convert to web/sRGB issues

Hi Guys,
I am having a hard time understanding what is happening in Photoshop when saving files for the web.
My print ready images are in the Adobe RGB colour space. If I convert these to sRGB (edit - convert to profile) and then upload them, I get what appears to be fairly consistent colour across browsers (both colour managed and unmanaged).
However, if I use the save for web function and enable 'convert to sRGB' then there seems to be a large saturation increase in the preview compared to the original file. This isn't a problem as long I choose to embed the colour profile, but If I un-tick this and simply have it set to 'convert to sRGB' without any other options selected (i.e. embed colour profile un-ticked) then my final file ends up being 'untagged' and has the same over saturated colours as the preview. So to me this would suggest that I'm not actually converting to the sRGB colour space, but simply some weird photoshop guestimate.
So my question is, what exactly is happening here? And is there any reason why I should use the 'save as for web' feature when I can simply convert to sRGB and save as a jpeg manually thus what appears to be producing the most accurate colour across browsers!?

If you check on "convert to sRGB" in save for web, but unclick "Embed Profile" the document's color numbers will be converted to sRGB and the document will be stripped of any embedded profile. It's possible that colors can appear different in both managed and non managed applications for two possible reasons:
1. For non managed applications, the colors in this untagged document will be directly interpreted through the monitor profile since the non managed application doesn't know that it should interpret the color numbers as though they're coming from sRGB.
2. For managed applications, if the working space is set to something other than sRGB, it will interpret the color numbers in the untagged document as though they were coming from the working space instead of sRGB.

Could you please let me know if you have tried converting other web pages to PDF and checked if the same issue persists.
How have you been trying to convert the web page to PDF?
Are you trying to convert to PDF directly via browsers or using "File > Create > PDF from Web Page" option in Acrobat.
Let me know more so that I can analyze where actually the issue persists.

Converting files to SRGB

I am trying to convert some pictures into an sRGB color profile so that the printers will print them. I am using Photoshop CS6 extended. I used the File>Script>Image Processor to do the converting. The checkbox for convert profile to sRGB was selected. The files were output to a seperate directory. When I open the new files with Photoshop to see what color profile they are, it comes in as unassigned rgb. How do I actually get photoshop to embed the sRGB profile or is the unassigned the sRGB? I've changed my working profile to sRGB.
The 2nd question that I have is: In the books, articles, and websites most pro photographers suggest not using sRGB but changing to adobe RGB or pro photo RGB. Where do you print these at? The web sites that I see for printing request the documents in sRGB. What printing sites / companies / printers do you use with the pro or adobe RGB?

That should fix it.
Also, if you are going to start using Pro Photo or Adobe RGB as editing spaces, you may want to read up a bit on doing that. Since they are wider gamut than what you are used to, it might be best to work on a high bit file. Martin Evening has a good books for photographers using Photoshop.

Adobe Photoshop CS3 Image Processor not converting files to sRGB Profile

I have been experiencing a problem with Photoshop CS3 Image Processor no longer converting profiles to sRGB. It converts all of the files from Camera Raw to JPEG, but not sRGB as well. I used to be able to batch convert an entire folder of RAW images to JPEG, sRGB through the Image Processor.
My Photoshop CS3 Working Space is Adobe RGB (1998). I need to convert an entire folder of images selected in Bridge to sRGB working space in order to publish a photo album from one of the on-line publishing companies. I can open each individual Camera Raw file in Photoshop and convert each to JPEG, sRGB, but this takes a tremendous amount of time.
The following procedure has worked for me in the past, but for some reason no longer works:
I select the images in the desired Bridge CS3 folder. Upper tool bar, "Tools" > "Photoshop" > "Image Processor". In Image Processor:
Section 1 - ""Process files from Bridge only (11)" Whether or not I place a checkmark by "Open first image to apply settings", it makes no difference in the outcome.
Section 2: "Save in same location"
Section 3 - "Checkmark by "Save as JPEG, quality 12". Also a checkmark by "Convert Profile to sRGB"
Section 4 - Checkmark by "Include ICC Profile"
I replaced my iMac one month ago and reinstalled Photoshop CS3, but this Image Processor problem had been occurring even with my old computer.

I'm currently on Mac OS X Version 10.6.4
Processor: 2.93 Ghz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
I don't know if it's related, Photoshop CS3 on my old computer was running in Rosetta. I don't know if it's running in Rosetta now, the name does not appear when Photoshop boots up. How do I get it to run in Rosetta again?

i have few web reports ( created using WAD). i am looking for a possibility to convert a web report (viewed in a browser by a user) into pdf and print them and this should be done by pressing a button.
Is it possible in BW 3.5 version?.

Office Web Apps Issue - "Sorry, something went wrong" message when opening a document (any MS docx,ppt etc) in IE. With Chrome, it pops (Microsoft Office needs your permission) message and on RUN, it opens the document.

When opening any Microsoft documents ( docx, ppt etc) in SharePoint 2013,
Internet Explorer behavior : "Sorry, something went wrong" An unexpected error has occurred message and then nothing happens.

In Firefox : the documents opens, after asking which application do you want to use to open it.

According to your post, my understanding is that you failed to open Microsoft documents in SharePoint 2013.
I recommend to Run the following PowerShell in OWA Server :
Remove-OfficeWebAppsHost # To Remove any restriction
Or
New-OfficeWebAppsHost -Domain <String> # To allow specific domain Name
In addition, you can allow OAuth via HTTP using the following commands:

Converting RGB images (sRGB or Adobe RGB) to 709 color space.

I'm trying to determine the correct way to convert RGB images (sRGB or Adobe RGB) to 709 color space. I can't just use the "covert to profile" function to do this because it does not produce results that fall within the 16 to 235 range that 709 dictates. I've read that you can simply use the "Levels" adjustment and change the output levels to 16 to 235. While this would clearly compress the luminance to the correct range, I'm not entirely clear if the end result would be a proper conversion (i.e. if color and gamma, for example, would be technically correct.)
I noticed that converting the profile to "HDTV (Rec. 709)" does alter the image, so I'm wondering what the result would be if I did both this AND used the levels control to compress the output range to 16 to 235.

The transfer functions for Rec.709 (1) refer to the range [0..1] or for 8 bits per pixel [0...255].
It seems that the clipping, black=16 and white=235 has to happen after the application of the
transfer function. If this should be true, then we don't have a level compression but a level
clipping at both ends, as already for Rec.601 (2), like here:
The ICC-Profile HDTV(Rec.709) in Photoshop contains the primaries and the white point
(both like that in sRGB) and the transfer functions for [0..1], coded by a LUT with high resolution,
as found by Profile Inspector. There is no clipping.
By the way, that`s the internal profile name, I don't know the file name of the profile.
Softproofing, source in sRGB, target HDTV(Rec.709), without clipping:
With numbers not preserved: no change of the appearance, as expected.
With numbers preserved: shows the effect of different effective gammas.

I am new to flex, i am trying to convert a web app into air app.
I changes the tags and when i complie i get the below 3 error popups with dismis and continue buttons on the bottom right..

Converting the WebI reports to .txt format

I have developed reports using Web Intelligence, now the requirement is to convert these webI reports to .txt format.
I am able to do it after dowloading the report into .CSV format but i wanted to convert these reports directly to .txt format and schedule these reports using a third party tool (ASG Zena).
can anybody please respond to this query if they have any idea or have done it already.

Upgrade to ECC6 & Unicode: IE Web Browser Issues?

Has anyone experienced web browser issues at display time? We are on IE7. We are now using the internal ITS. Our carriage returns are totally being ignored by the browser. Thus, we have a dropdown box to pick one of the businesses multiple partners, and because the HTML is not formatted correctly in the browser, the dropdown doesn't work, and we get an "array not created" error messsage in IE7.
I know that there are options in the IE 7 browser under the menu item "view". I've tried changing these to some different Unicode settings, but without luck.
Has anybody some experience with this issue?

this might be problem with Support package, by default Sap neweaver 2004s application comes with SP6, u can upgrade to higher SP to solve these type of problems.patch your system up to SP12 or SP13 and try.

How do I convert a web based file to a PDF file? I know that you "Print to File" but for some reason that is not working for me. I have Adobe Reader X, shouldn't that be able to create a PDF like this, or is there another program that I need to do this? Thanks.

Reader X cannot create a PDF file - it can only view and print existing PDF files.
In order to create a PDF file (for example, print a webpage as a PDF, as you mentioned), you can purchase our CreatePDF service. This service includes a CreatePDF Printer which can print web pages to PDF.
Or you could purchase Acrobat, which can also convert webpages to PDF.

Web Query issues

Hi All,
I have created a web query and assigned it to a role. I have moved the role, web templete and the query from dev to QA was able run the query fine without issues.
The problem I am having is when I make changes to the query and transport it to QA...when I run the query from the role menu it still shows the old query instead of the changed query.
Can someone please explain what are the steps I need to take when I make changes to exsisting web query in dev and move to QA and be able to see the changes. What are all the objects I need to collect. Also would like to know if there are any settings on the role menu or web templete that need to be changed and also any buffers that I need to cleared??

Guest Anchor - Web Passthrough - Apple device web redirect issue

Hi All,
I've setup a Guest Mobility Anchor at DMZ with 5508 WLC. I've setup the EoIP mobility tunnel and everything works so far.
Now, I was testing multiple clients to connect to the Guest SSID and observed that Apple devices are not redirecting url, resulting unsuccessful connection.
I looked Cisco docs and added the command "config network web-auth captive-bypass enable" on the Anchor as recommended.
Even after executing the command, I'm still facing web redirect issue with Apple Devices. I don't have any issues with other devices, except Apple.
My controller running code AirOS 7.6.130.0. I'm using DMZ controller as DHCP server for Guests and public DNS servers as 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
How to solve this web redirect issue? Will a Third-party generated CSR solves the problem?

The issue was with WISPr Protocol with iOS Clients. After upgrading the AirOS Code on the controller to 8.0.100.0; the issue with Web Redirect is resolved.

When converting SLSB(stateless session bean) EJB to JAX-WS,
all the methods in the SLSB will be converted to web service operations,
no matter the method is with annotation @WebMethod or not.

By Default All the Methods which are declared as <b><font color=maroon>public </font></b>inside the WebService class (which is declared using @WebService Annotation) will be considered as a WebService Operation. And Will be Published to the Client as part of the WSDL.
So if you dont want to Publish your "sayHello(String name)" Method as a WebService Operation then ...*Dont Declare it as a "public" Method*.

With IE it is possible to convert a web page to a pdf document if you have full Adobe Acrobat. Can this be done with Firefox.
