Convert vi from LabVIEW 5.0 to v.8.2

Hello-
I am trying to open a subVI in LabVIEW 9.0 but it was written for v. 5.0... someone told me that if I open the vi in a version before 8.2 and save it, then I should be able to open it in 9.0. I don't have any version before 9.0 so he suggested that I post the file on this forum... I have attached the subVI so if someone could please convert it (who has a version of LabView older than v. 8.2) it would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi NEGR,
as long as you don't give us the missing subvis it's pretty useless to convert the vis...
(Now in LV7.1)

  • How to convert llb from LabVIEW version 8 to 7.1

Can someone tell how to convert the llb from LabVIEW version 8 to version 7.1?
I hope to sent the program to the others, but the other side are using LabVIEW version 7.1 but not version 8.0.
I know I can save to VI file as previous version, but it contains severals of VI in the library, it is quite time consuming.
Can everyone sugguest any method or solution to solve my problem.
    Thanks.

    Hi anson,
it will run also in LV7.1 - but you should check those warnings (probably things not/differently supported by LV7.1...) anyway!

  • I can't convert .vi from labview 5.0 to 8.6

I'm tring to convert a labview project from 5.0 version to 8.6 version. I know that direct conversion is not possible. I saw at this link:
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/8387
that conversion is possible by intermediate comnversion with 8.0 version (I have it).
Unlikely somethings wrong happen when I try to open my original labview 5.0 .vi with 8.0 version.
Do someone know alternative version to convert my project????
    thanks in advance

  • ODBC from LabVIEW 4.1

    Hi.
I need to access to odbc database from LabVIEW 4.1. I looked through
the online reference and found that it looks like that the only way to
do it is to buy additional pack for accessing the DBases. For me it is
    not the best case, though.
Is there any other way to work with odbc databases than that?
    Thank you.

  • Converting from LabView 4.0 to 8.5

I have a Pico Technology TC-08 thermocouple datalogger (RS232). It has drivers for Labview 4.0 but I use Labview 8.5, which says it can't convert the drivers. From the help pages I have understood that there is separate software that can convert from Labview 4.0 to 8.5. Can anyone tell me where I can download or otherwise obtain this software?

    Hi EKY,
converted to LV7.1 - should be ok now
But: there's a "missing dll"-error. You have to check this in LV8.5.
There is also no guarantee the dll will work with LV8.5 or maybe new operating system (from Win95 to WinXP or Vista?)

  • Connecting converted tool from VBAI to LabView

    Hey all,
I'm really trying to connect to VI's together, one being a converted tool from VBAI and the other one, just a normal Labview coding.
The two VI's are attached with this message. Could anyone help me connect them together?
    Kind regards
    Xavier

    Dear Nathan
I know I didn.t give much precision on that, but that's because I'm not so confortable with LabView, but I'll try and do my best.
So to start with, I am using a thermal camera provide by a company called LAND. LAND has developed a few SubVI so that the thermal camera can be used on LabView. This is represented by attachment 1.
Then, a few weeks ago, just for a trial, I have tried converting a tool from Vision Builder for Automated Inspection to LabView (no problems). After a little while, I manage to connect the new tool converted from Vision Builder (useless tool but just for trial; attachment 2) to the main SubVI, and data was coming out of all this (everything up until there was fine).
Then the next thing was to create the tool I wanted to use on Vision Builder, which didn't take long and I converted it to Labview. But finally, when it came to connecting the main SubVI (attachment 1) to the usefull tool from VBAI I wanted to use (attachment 3), I couldn't manage to find my way.
So this is what I am trying to do, that's to say, being able to use the tool developped in VBAI (attachment 3) to analyse the image I get from the main SubVI (attachment1) and get some data.
Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Xavier
