Convert video_ts and audio_ts to iso

Hi. I used Finder and drag-and-drop to copy a DVD movie to my hard drive. To do this, I created a new folder with the name of the movie. I then dragged-and-dropped the video_ts and audio_ts files from the DVD to the folder. The result is that the movie folder has two sub-folders, one for video_ts and one for audio_ts. Inside the sub-folders are all the bup, ifo and vob files. I can point Apple DVD Player or VLC media player to the movie folder, and both play the movie just fine.
I then used Disk Utility to create an iso file from the movie folder on the hard drive. After opening Disk Utility, I did File > New > Disk Image From Folder, and pointed it to the movie folder (not to a sub-folder). I selected DVD/CD Master as the image format then clicked Save. It produced a file with a .cdr extension. Apple DVD Player would not play the resulting movie. VLC plays the movie, but video only - there is no sound?
Any advice on how to create an iso file from the movie that actually works? Thank you.

Is it a commercial DVD movie? They are usually encrypted, so can not be copied with Finder or Disk Utility unless you use FairMount.

A normal DVD does not use the AUDIO_TS folder. Video and audio are in the VIDEO_TS folder. You can just drag a VIDIO_TS folder onto DVD Player's dock icon to play them. You can also play them with "Open Disc" in VLC's "File" menu.
If you want to create a disk image file using Disk Utility, make it from the original DVD, not from files ion your had drive.
<http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2059>
If you usee the VIDEO_TS folder from your hard drive, the image will net be in UDF format, so DVD Player won't recognize it as a movie (though it can still play the VIDEO_TS file).
To make a UDF image from a VIDEO_TS folder, use Burn
<http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html>
Select the "Video" tab. set the format to "DVD-Video", drag the VIDEO_TS folder into Burn's window, then use "Save Image" in the "File" menu

  • How to burn/convert VIDEO_TS from Mac The Ripper??

Ok, I just used MacTheRipper to rip a DVD with Video_Ts and Audio_TS folders.
Now my question is, how can I convert these into a disk-image, or how can I now burn this to a DVD? Thanks in advance

I don't want to use Toast since it's not a freeware
But it's worth every cent of it! I have been using it for a long time and can't even remember the last time I stuffed up a disk, burning DVDs Music & MP3 CDS, photo cd's data etc.
I have tried a couple of freeware and shareware programs that are supposed to be ok, but spent most of the time producing drink coasters. if there is one program I think everyone should fork out for it would be Roxio Toast.
maybe someone can recommend a freebie, but I will always swear by Toast and think it has easily paid for itself already.
    Cheers

  • How do I convert VIDEO_TS data into a playable Video?

I am very new to video but have a short-ish fused problem and am looking up a hill.
Very recently I obtained 11 DVDs from YESVIDEO via Walmart.  A relative had taken my mother's many 8 and super 8 film strips and gotten the film converted into digital .  Problem is now mine when we found that those DVD's are not in any readily useable format.  We want to play these old "movies" --- or parts of them --- for my father (95 years old) at the Thanksgiving reunion.  Since I am known in the family for being a Photoshop guy (since the 1980's) I now have the YES DVDs and Premier Elements 12.  Plus Elements 12.  And no experience in this type of photography.
I have gotten a converter off the web and it works alright.  And I can play the DVDs in Premier from the DVD without a converter.
Next step seems to elude me.  What files should I copy onto the hard drive from the Walmart DVDs to support editing and outputting in a video format?  Exactly which of the files should I aim Premiere at --- right now it is VIDEO_TS.  What about AUDIO_TS?  And the other files?
A second quesion is what abilities does Premiere have to improve B&W footage?  All help appreciated!

    For tomorrow....
If you are saying that you get as far as the Add Media/DVD camera or computer drive"/Video Importer and you have the Video Importer's Source field set to your DVD's drive, the specific video files in the VIDEO_TS Folder that you want will be named:
    VTS_01_1.VOB
    VTS_02_1.VOB
and onward depending on the duration of the DVD video content.
Remove the check marks that you see in front of anything else. Set the Save In: field for a separate folder on the hard drive for each of the individual DVD disc that you process this way, giving each folder a different name. Otherwise, you will be blocked by messages that say that you have already imported the media which you have not. Also, if you want the files saved to the hard drive save location as well as put on the Timeline of the present project, put a check mark next to Add to Timeline. Then hit the Get Media button of the Video Importer.
From what you wrote there is a lot of extra material on that DVD disc besides the VIDEO_TS and this could be creating problems for your player. But that is for another time.
As for Black and White improvement in your footage, I am not sure how much success you will gain, but you could look at
    fxEffects
    Advanced Adjustments
Image Control: Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Saturation
    Shadows/Highlights
with adjusts under Applied Effects Tab/Applied Effects Palette/expanded panel for the effect applied.
We all will be watching for your progress.
    Thanks.

  • Convert DVD and other video files for playback on  iPhone, iPod, PSP, etc.

So, how are your holidays going? Or, if you're reading this on the weekend, how'd they go? Watching various sorts of DVD movies and videos is a better idea for a pastime during your free time. To make your holiday be more colorful with movies, I prefer to recommend an application to help you guys deal with different kinds of video resources, no matter the DVD files or footages shot by camcorders, or videos in formats of FLV, AVI, MKV, etc., in a word, the converted videos will be supported by whatever portable devices you have, including PSP, iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPod Nano, iPhone (3G), iPhone, Zune, Zune 2, Blackberry, Nokia, Creative Zen, Sony Walkman, iRiver PMP, Archos, PS3, Apple TV, Xbox, iPAQ, Pocket PC, Mobile Phone, etc. The software is Pavtube Video DVD Converter Ultimate, which combines DVD ripper and Video Converter together, and enables you to edit and convert any DVD, video, audio and image files to other popular formats including MP4, 3GP, FLV, MPEG-4, AVI, MPG, MOV, 3G2, VOB, FLAC, MKA, OGG, WAV, AC3, M4A with super fast conversion speed and excellent image and sound quality.
The detailed user guide will be shown in the following part:
Step 1: Add video and DVD file
You are allowed to add videos to this program via clicking "Add Video", and add DVD files to it via clicking "Load DVD". DVD files can be loaded in three ways: "Load DVD ROM", "Load DVD Folder", and "Load ISO/IFO".
Step 2: Select output format and set destination folder
Videos and DVD files can be added to this program at the same time, after that, you can click the drop-down list of "Format" to select an output format for your portable devices. The format profile provides you with formats for iPod, iPhone, PSP, PS3, BlackBerry, etc. Meanwhile, you can click the folder icon at the end of "Output" to decide where to save the output files. Moreover, if you want to combine multiple files to be a single file, you can tick "Merge into one file".
    Step 3: Set advanced settings
If you have the needs of adjusting video and audio parameters to make good control of the output file quality and size, you can click "Settings" button to do it, and all the options like codec, aspect ratio, bit rate, frame rate, audio channel, etc. are changeable on the following window.
    Step 4: Start conversion
As soon as the above steps are finished, you can click "Convert" button to start conversion, the following ripping window will show you clearly about all the conversion info. After finished, you are able to find out the output files via clicking "Open" button.

We're not supposed to talk about DVD conversion according to the terms of service ...
So I'll assume these VOB files are from your HOME MOVIE DVDs you burned yourself and suggest the Videora iPod Classic Video Converter.
    http://www.videora.com/
It's a really nice program that converts not only your HOME MOVIE DVD VOB files, but AVI, MPEG, and others. You can set the CPU usage from high to low with five settings, it has a queue which you can add multiple files to, and it will minimize to the taskbar for compact convenience. There are other Windows programs that do much the same, but I prefer Videora. Oh ... and it's freeware!!

  • Can Quicktime convert Video_TS content?

Just wondering if Quicktime can convert the contents of a Video_TS folder into a single-file video format, such as .mp4 or .mkv.  Thanks.

Just wondering if Quicktime can convert the contents of a Video_TS folder into a single-file video format, such as .mp4 or .mkv.
QT 7 can convert VOB files to any video compression format supported by your QT codec configuration if, and only if, your QT codec configuration includes the MPEG-2 Playback codec. Unfortunately, this codec does not support audio conversion of AC3. To convert VIDEO_TS folder content to MP4 or MKV files and preserve audio, video, multichannel, alternative audio, chapter, and/or subtitle content, most users would the free HandBrake app. I use it to create M4V files with H.264/AAC/AC3/Chapter tracks with burned-in "forced" subtitles as appropriate for iTunes management and playback on multiple Apple devices.

  • Multiple Convert/Dump and Load tasks in a single SSIS package?

I'd appreciate some input. We have a single data file that has about 1,000,000 rows of data spanning 28 time periods in the columns across each row. The file is too large to import at one time, and so we have created 9 different transformation files to pull subsets of the timeperiods using MVAL. The end user does not want to have to break apart the file and/or schedule 9 separate imports to bring this file in each time. So, I've attempted to create a single SSIS package that runs each of the 9 required component imports, but I'm running into the following error any time that I try to run more than one import at once:
An error occurred while running a packageException of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
I've tried using a ForEach loop to simply loop through each of the transformation files and run an import for each transformation file it finds. But, I understand that SSIS doesn't release memory until the end of the ForEach loop, which would explain an out of memory issue. I then broke it out and specified 9 distinct Convert task and 9 distinct Dump and Load tasks in the package with an order of Convert 1 --> Dump and Load 1 --> Convert 2 --> Dump and Load 2, etc. This results in the same out of memory issue any time I enable it to run more than 1 convert/dump & load task in the package - they are not running simultaneously, but rather sequentially. I don't understand this. In looking at the logs, it looks like it's creating the temp files for the first import and adding them into BPC, and then creating the temp files for the second import but then fails prior to the second load. This will work for a smaller data file, but shouldn't the memory be released after the task and allow subsequent tasks to complete? Any recommendations on how to address this and automate this load?

Quick update - I created unique ssis packages for the distinct imports and called those packages from within the initial package that is kicked off through Data Manager, and I ran into the same out of memory issue. Any ideas, suggestions, or help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • How to convert FLV and F4V files to other media formats

How to convert FLV and F4V files to other media formats
Nowadays, every one can download their favorite videos from video sharing websites like YouTube, Hulu, MySpace, Google Video, metacafe, Yahoo! Video, Reuters.com and so on at will. However, these video files we got are usually in the format of FLV, or F4V, which are not workable by most portable devices, or some video players and video editors on our PC. With the intention of solving these problems, this guide will show you how to convert FLV and F4V files to other video and audio formats in detail.
    1. Download, install and run Pavtube FLV Converter
As soon as you run this program, the following wine red interface will show up:
    2. Add files, set output format and destination folder
Input FLV and F4V files to this program by clicking on “Add” button, and select a format as the output format in the drop-down list of “Format”, meanwhile, you can press the output folder to specify the destination folder or just use the path set by default. Moreover, “merge into one file” enables you to combine multiple FLV and F4V files to be as a single file, if you have this needs, just tick it.
    3. Set advanced settings
Click “Settings” button, the following interface will pop up. You can change the parameters like screen size, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, etc. on it to optimize the output quality or compress file size.
    4. Convert
After all settings are done, you can press “Convert” button to start transferring, and then the following window will show you the conversion info in detail. According to the info you can manage your time and disk space properly.
Pavtube FLV Converter can definitely complete the conversion at a swift speed with excellent quality; also it adopts an advanced audio-video sync technology, so that audio and video match very well in the resulted files. Therefore you need not worry about these issues.

I am trying to reinstall Windows (would not launch).  I removed the partition and started over.  I downloaded the support files and Windows 7 iso file to a USB drive.  However, when I try to run the setup.exe program I get the message "this program cannot be run in DOS mode."  I was successful before, what am I doing wrong this time?

    Try a restart.
If that doesn't fix the problem, shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

You can search the forums for that error message and find previous discussions - they all boil down to the same problem.  Somewhere in your query that calls this function, the code invoked implicitly converts from string to date/datetime.  In general,
this works in any version of sql server if the runtime settings are correct for the format of the string data.  The fact that it works in one server and not in another server suggests that the query executes with different settings - and I'll assume for
the moment that the format of the data involved in this conversion is consistent within the database/resultset and consistent between the 2 servers.
I suggest you read Tibor's guide to the datetime datatype (via the link to his site below) first - then go find the actual code that performs this conversion.  It may not be in the function you posted, since that function also executes other functions.
You also did not post the query that calls this function, so this function may not, in fact, be the source of the problem at all.
