Convert Word File into Editable PDFIhavebee

I have been sent a Word file which is an application form... I have to add editable fields to the form is there any easy way to do this from Word? The form is 10 pages and has many many fields so could take forever and was hoping there was a slightly easy way...

There is no way to add form fields in Word and have them transfer over to a PDF if that's what you mean.
You would need to convert to PDF then use the form tools in Acrobat.

  • Acrobat XI Pro successfully installed, but it failed in converting word files into PDF, why?

I just installed Adobe XI Pro through the download assistant, it looks the installation went well, but when I tried to convert word files into PDF (tried many times), it failed. Anyone has the same problems, any solutions?

Please reply with more information - what your operating system is, do you have Office installed, and what exactly is happening. Is there an error message, does the application crash, and from where are you starting the conversion (using Word and PDFMaker, using Acrobat's Create button, or batch processing).

  • Converting word file into PDF creates exclamation marks

    Hi,
I have Word 2007 and Acrobat 8.1.7 (OS: Windows XP). When creating PDFs in Word i get exclamation marks at the end of a header, footer and body itself. I tried rebuilding font cache but that didn't help. I also uninstalled all Adobe components and installed them anew - didn't do anything either. Have no other ideas. Please help...
    Thanks!

The key is the print preview. If they are there, then they are being produced by WORD, not Acrobat. At that point, the Adobe PDF printer driver has not come into play other than providing WORD printer metric information. Check your settins in WORD. You should also be getting the same result if you just printed to paper or any other printer.

Not stupid you! To, from PDF--it gets confusing!
To edit a PDF file, you need to use Acrobat. Depending on how much work needs to be done to the PDF, it may make sure sense to edit in Word, and then reconvert to PDF. Acrobat doesn't function as a word processor, so while limited changes to the text should be fine, extensive updates may not yield the results you're looking for.
That said, if you don't have Acrobat, you are welcome to try it for free for 30 days. For more information, see www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

  • I am having issues converting my word file into a pdf.

I am having issues converting my word file into a pdf. When I attempt the conversion the pdf download has text boxes overlapping each other. The word file does not have overlapping text boxes. I believe it is the margins of my word file but I am not certain. How can I accurately edit my word file then convert it into a pdf without the overlapping issue occuring?

    Hi,
Please send me your Word file so that I can look into the issue using below:

What type of PDF's are you converting to word? Are you receiving a specific error message? Have you tried rebooting your computers and logging into ExportPDF again?
    I'd really like to assist!

How to convert jpeg files into Word

    Hi Eugene,
I don't think you can convert an image to a Word document, but you could place the JPEG into a Word document using the Insert > Object command in Word.
For other questions relating to Word, you will probably have more luck getting an answer if you post on the Microsoft forums (we can help if you're using Acrobat, or another Adobe product, but you'll find the Word experts on the Microsoft forums.)

  • Convert pdf files into wiki pages, and export wiki pages as word and pdf files

I am working on an enterprise wiki site collection inside my SharePoint server 2013. And there was a requirement to automatically generate wiki pages from word documents. As I read that the built-in service within SharePoint does not support importing the
pictures within the word documents. So I looked into 3rd party tools and I settle on the “Kaboodle Word to Wiki” link
which will manage to convert word docs into wiki pages, with only minor layout problems.
But I want to know if there are additional tools which support the following:-

  • Problem converting Word Documents into pdf

Hi Folks - and Happy New Year to You!
    I'm using version Adobe 7.0.
I written an e-book and can't get the darn thing to convert into a pdf file. Sometimes it works -- sometimes it doesn't.
I suspect the problem is with my many embedded graphics. I have created Microsoft Powerpoint slides, and have cut and pasted them into my ebook as objects inserted between the paragraphs of text.
When converting from the "Convert to Adobe PDF" button in my Word Toolbar, it gets all the way through and finally has an error at the end saying: "an error occured while creating a temporary file; Word was unable to write some of the embedded objects due to insufficient memory or disk space"
I have Adobe set with a password to protect copying, and the Word file size is around 1Mb.
My computer is only a year old, and I have 23 Gb of free space.
I'm using Windows Professional XP and Word 2002
Please reply asap or email me on [email address deleted by host]
    You Have My Best Regards

    Hi,
I have tried to get this right for a few days now Finally found some info at
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=330729
    See point 2 below.
Creating PDF files by using PDFMaker
You can convert Word files from within either Word or Acrobat. Because both applications use PDFMaker, you can achieve the same results in either application.
To create a PDF file from within Word:
    1. Exit from all applications except Word to minimize processing time. To further minimize processing time, complete the following:
-- If the document contains several fonts, either reduce the number of fonts or replace TrueType fonts with Type 1 fonts.
-- If the document contains large or complex tables, reduce the number of columns and rows.
    2. If the document contains hyperlinks, make sure that the page margins are .8 inch or larger.
    3. To add features such as font embedding and compression to your PDF file, choose Adobe PDF > Change Conversion Settings. (To create customized job options settings with these features, edit the conversion settings. For more information, see "Editing the PDFMaker Conversion Settings" in the Acrobat Help.)
Isn't it totally obvious to anyone that the margins have to be at least 0.8 inches for hyperlinks to work.....
I made a new page format slightly larger and increased the margins. After making the PDF file i trimmed it in Adobe. Worked like a dream...

  • How to convert .doc file into .rtf file in Java?

    Hello All,
I want to convert doc file into rtf format in java and for the same i am not getting any help so pls suggest some solution for that.
    Thanks and Regards

MS-Word formats (DOC) are notorious for not being standardized from one version to another, so what ever you get will be version specific. If you must do the conversion, I suggest you do a MS-Script in Word to do it or one of the .Net languages. As stated the Word format from version to version is not standardized.
