Converted HD content suddenly jumpy/jerky

For some time have been recording HD free to air programs in eyetv and converting the to watch through apple tv. This has worked beautifully until recently. Now all my coverted HD videos play back very jerky, particularly noticeable and annoying on long panning shots. My first thought was something had changed with the way the files were converted but even files that played well previously are now not playing properly. Next thought streaming might be the problem but syncing the files to atv and playing them from there results in the same problem. Have re-booted atv, still no joy. Funny thing is iTunes HD files seem to play ok which would indicate a problem with the converted files which I could understand if it only affected newly converted files but as I stated previously, files that played perfectly before are now not playing properly. Any suggestions?

First thing I'd like to clarify is whether all your HD recordings have suddenly become jumpy or whether it is only those recorded after a particular point in time, whether you know what that point in time was or not.
Given the jumpy description you gave, I'd ordinarily suggest a restart but you have done that. Perhaps you might want to try pulling all the cables and re-powering up the tv after about 30 seconds.
Have you taken a look at your output settings, itunes movies tend to be recorded at 24 fps and I've found that I get the best results when my output is set to 60 Hz, even though being in the UK my recordings from eyetv are at 25 fps and display best at 30 Hz. Things might be a little different for you depending on you're location, all I am saying is try adjusting your output from the tv.

This is probably a basic question but does anyone have an example of the parameters used when you are using the 'Converting File Content' option on the File Adapter ?
Also, where do the record sets have to be defined ? Are these data types in the Integration Builder ?
The documentation is to say the least a bit flaky.

Converting Robohelp Content to a Word and PDF document.

I am in the process of creating an online help manual with several jpg images. The jpg images are clear in Robohelp, but when I convert the content to a Word or PDF, the content and images are fuzzy and blurry, especially the PDF. Any thoughts or suggestions as to why this is occurring? I did not have this issue with my last project, the clarity, content, and formatting was very clear including the jpg images.

Hi Wendy,
there is almost no conversion of images on generating any output from RoboHelp, can you please also specify how those topics with images were created.
if possible please share a sample image and correponding code snippet from RoboHelp.
you can try removing any resizing done to those images and then generate the output.

Howto use Converting File Content in Rec. Adapt. to suppress a xml-element

we use PI/700, SP6.
I have following structure (example):

<Sender>Partner1</Sender>
<Receiver>Partner2</Receiver>
<FlatPayload>
     blabla blabla
</FlatPayload>
</Msgout>
Now I wanna use a XI-File-Adapter to write just a Flat-File with the content (of the element <FlatPayload>):
    blabla blabla
(in other words: I wanna suppress all other xml-elements beside of FlatPayload)
But I'm not able to configurate this with the function "Converting File Content"
I tried different possiblities:
e.g.
setting yyy.fieldFixedLengths = 0 and yyy.fixedLengthTooShortHandling = Cut
(yyy = Sender and Receiver)
or
just defining "MsgOut,FlatPayload" as RecordSet Structure (without Sender and Receiver)
Result: no success.
Now my question: is it possible to suppress some xml-elements?

HI,
You can suppress the XML Nodes/Elements over here. Not Fields ..
For e.g if your outout xml is like this
<MsgOut>
    <Sender>Partner1</Sender>
    <Receiver>Partner2</Receiver>
<FlatPayload>
   <flatdata> blabla blabla</flatdatat>
</FlatPayload>
</Msgout>
In this case you can suppress the <FlatPayload> node/element here.. Using Cut Parameter in the Receiver File Content COnversion.

Convert document content to pdf

Hi,
I have a problem. I would like to import a document and save the content on the server (AL11) in the PDF format.
First I convert the content into a xstring and then I put the content into a binary table. After that I write the binary table to the server.
To test the functionality I have the opportunity to save the data manually onthe desktop from the AL11. If I do that I get not a PDF, but always the type of original document.
Can anybody help me?

Not sure what you are trying to do here and the purpose behind it.
Do you want to upload the file in PDF format in AL11 and want to view it ins PDF format in AL11? If this is the requirement then you can't view a file in PDF format in AL11. Try using SAP standard transaction CG3Z (for upload to application server) and you will see that the PDF can be uploaded in application server but it will not be visible in that format in AL11. Over there it is in binary format.
If however your idea is to upload the content of the PDF to application server and then be able to download it at a later stage - for viewing, email or whatever purpose - then what you can do is to use FM CONVERT_OTF to convert the content to OTF and then save it AL11.
Whenever you want it view or read it then you can read it from AL11 and then use FM CONVERT_OTF_2_PDF to convert to PDF.

How to convert this xml message into plane text format if it does not contain any structure elements (that is, <struc1> <field1>value</field1> </struc1>) according to help guide?
How should i configure RecordSet in File Adapter?

If yes, then create one more data type with structure

And do direct mapping. So now you can easily configure the content conversion for the target format isn't it?

can convert these tags to browser-safe scripts. Do you want
Dreamweaver to convert these tags for you?" So, being the trusting
soul that I am, I clicked "yes." But when I uploaded my page, I
could not see the Flash videos that I had put in this page. The
same thing happened with another page. So I created new pages, and
clicked on "no" when the "Convert Active Content" dialogue box
appeared, and my Flash videos appear again.
I really would like to avoid the annoying double-clicking
that has to happen with the new IE browser whenever I include Flash
content, but this work-around does not work. Any ideas?

You were right to say you wanted DW to "convert these tags to
browser-safe
scripts." What you didn't do was upload the SCRIPTS directory
that DW
created. Try doing that and all should be well.

All,
After my last post with problems displaying my youtube video in IE, now am getting a message in DW when I open
the project "Convert Active Content" This page contains <object> tags that may not work properly in some versions
of IE, do you want DW to convert yes or no"
I have been saying no....if that is correct how do you get the message to not appear again? thanks...dano

Remove the active content and re-insert it, and be sure to
upload the
Scripts folder to your server.

Converting Business Content to 7.x

I have created job to convert asset content to MP4 format, job is created but with error:

Here I am first searching asset in content where video is stored and then creating job.

The error is as expected - the on-demand encoders in our service (Azure Media Encoder, etc.) do not yet support handling of input Assets that are archives from a live stream.

Unfortunately, this codec does not support audio conversion of AC3. To convert VIDEO_TS folder content to MP4 or MKV files and preserve audio, video, multichannel, alternative audio, chapter, and/or subtitle content, most users would the free HandBrake app. I use it to create M4V files with H.264/AAC/AC3/Chapter tracks with burned-in "forced" subtitles as appropriate for iTunes management and playback on multiple Apple devices.

Convert web content to pdf file

I would like to know if adobe has a service or option to convert web content to a pdf book. I done it manually but it's taking a lot of time.
My questions :
If I export the web content in word or excel format can it be converted into a pdf ?
Is there any other solution/ software ?

You can't convert binary data into character based data.
So very likely this is your problem.

Bi Content in 7.0 - Did SAP Convert all content to use new ETL process?

Hello.
I am working with BI 7.0 for the first time. I have 8 years of BW 3.x experience. We are starting a new BI project and we are in the process of activating Business Content. We have BI_CONT level 7 (the latest as of today I believe). I appears that SAP has not converted over its Business Content to use the new ETL process (Transformations, DTP's, etc). For example, I am looking at basic areas such as AP, AR, SD, MM, GL, etc and the BI content is still using the 3.x ETL (transfer rules, update rules). Is something not installed right on my system or has SAP not converted it's content to the new ETL yet?

Some new content is released using the new DTP. Most content remains in its delivered 3.x format. If you want to use DTPs for this content you have to manually create the DTPs after installing the 3.x objects. If you right-click on an InfoCube, you will see some new options in the context menu, including "Create Transformation...," and "Create Data Transfer Process...." Context menu for DataSouce now contains a "Migrate" option that will allow you to migrate to the new DTP from 3.x. Also, other objects such as Transfer Rules and Update Rules contain context menu options for "Create Transformation."
