Converted Symbol can't be Pasted into Keyframe: Motion Tweening

I have two files one is called tween_start.fla and the other is called tween_end.fla I am trying to create a motion tween where the animation begins at tween_start.fla and ends at tween_end.fla Each file consists of 7 shapes (it's a tangram if you're curious). At frame 10 of the tween_start.fla timeline I right-click on each layer and do Insert Blank Keyframe. Then I go to tween_end.fla click on a shape and do Modify>Convert to Symbol. Then I go back to the timeline for tween_start.fla, right-click on frame 10 and do Paste Frames or Insert Keyframe. If I do Paste Frames with all of the symbols I've created in tween_end.fla then the shapes end up stacked on top of each other. If I do Insert Keyframe it doesn't insert the symbol I've just created, instead it just keeps the same shapes that were at the first frame of tweet_start.fla. So how do I insert the symbols from tween_end.fla into the tenth frame of tweet_start.fla and then execute a motion tween between the frames?

I have created the same number of keyframes and kept the layers the same as you suggested and it still doesn't work. What I don't understand about this problem is, how does the timeline know that what you are pasting into the keyframe is the new symbol that you have just created? There is no command that says Copy Symbol and when you paste into the keyframes you can only choose Insert Frame, Insert Keyframe, or Paste Frames so how do you get it to paste the symbol you just made? I can, of course, create a new keyframe and digit the same size and position (but it takes a while).

I can no longer paste into my google search bar after updating to mavericks

i just updated my mac to mavericks and now my google search bar does not work when content is being pasted into it. Anyone have some suggestions/quick fixes?

With Safari open press Command , (comma) to open Safari preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Lyrics copied from the internet can't be pasted into the song in iTunes

A few days ago I installed the latest software update, which included a newer version of iTunes, and ever since I installed it I'm experiencing big trouble with adding lyrics to songs in my iTunes. See, if I type in the field of 'Lyrics' there's no problem; the lyrics will remain there. But when I copy-paste from the internet or Pages, iTunes suddenly 'skips' to the previous song in the playlist, without letting the lyrics stick. :s With English- or Dutch language songs it isn't really that big of a deal; I can understand it perfectly. But I also listen to foreign music, like Greek or Russian. The 'Lyrics' space is sometimes filled with the Greek or Cyrillic lyrics, a phonetic translation, and a translation into English or Dutch. So unless I become a genius in fully understanding several kinds of languages, with enough time to manually type it all in, the copy-paste option is key.
Is there anyone who is experiencing the same thing, and/or knows what's wrong? I did restart both iTunes ánd my MacBook several times, without any luck.

Thanks so much Jolly Giant, but it didn't work. However, because of your answer I started to think some more, and suddenly I imagined that it maybe would work if I used the ctrl + trackpad buttons, ticking 'copy' and, in iTunes, ticking 'paste', and thát worked!
So my conclusion is that it it's only the shortcuts that I used that aren't working anymore in iTunes (shortcuts like cmd + c=copy, cmd + p=paste). I am so used using them, so it I just couldn't figure it out. Those shortcuts are working fine in Pages, TextEditor, etc, by the way.
Thank you both for thinking with me and trying to help! Maybe this topic will help someone else who is using shortcuts way too much.

Why can't I paste into an MSO state?

Since I downloaded and installed adobe reader 10, I can't see web page pdf files in safari but I can copy and paste into firefox and I can see the pdf. How can I fix this?

Quit Safari.
Go to /Library/Internt Plug-Ins.
Move the AdobePDFViewer.plugin to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari.

Can no longer paste from InDesign into Keynote 4.

One of the best things prior to Keynote 4 was the ability to copy from InDesign to Keynote. Now, Keynote just beeps rather than pasting in a pdf of what was copied. This is killing me, as it used to save lots of time moving content over for slides. Any work around for this? It is a huge loss.

The last time I saw something like this was with Comic Life. In it's initial version, you couldn't copy anything out of it into any other app because the info it placed on the clipboard was not compatible with any other app (other than itself). They eventually updated the application so that it worked, so this is likely and inDesign problem.

Copy & paste into save for web color palette doesn't function on macs

This didn't work in CS2 either on the mac side. Yet, you can copy a color hex code in the normal program, save for web and paste that color into the color picker for matte on a gif just fine on a PC. Get on a mac and you better get a pen out. Why?! Why can't I paste into the save for web/devices color picker?! Seriously? $600 and I can't copy and paste because I use a mac while at work on the PC I can do it without issue.

Is this something that will be given to mac users in a future update?

Cannot paste into a discussion window.

Obviously, I can TYPE into this discussion window and I can even copy/paste into the subject/title window but I cannot PASTE into the discussion window.
The only browser we can use here is IE 8 (8.0.7601.17514) so I cannot test with another browser.
I can copy/paste to other editors and into other browser tabs but I cannot paste here.
I seem only one other comment about thsi froma few days ago, so I suppose it's my machine / setup. But what?

1) Can armatures be made into nested animation (symbol/movies)?
I made a dragon character and animated the body with the amature(bone tool) in flash cs5. I was having trouble trying get it to become a nested animation and make it into a symbol/movie. I heard you are suppose to select all the animated frames using EDIT> TIMELINE>COPY FRAMES, then pasting the animated frames into new symbol/movie. I have no luck with that, the menu becomes dimmed out from copying the frame...I'm not sure if nesting animations with amatures is possible? Any ideas? Thanks.
I was planning to get the body into nested animation, then attached seperate movie with flagging wings along a guide path.
2) Second question. I don't know why flash cs5 is exporting it's animation a lot differently from gif to swf. In the gif format it doesn't show the nest animation. Here's an example. The wings on the dragon animate fine in swf format but when converted to gif. The wings don't move.

It's very interesting -- there's some bug in the file -- even if some layers are not visible, when I double-click the text layer you are supposed to edit (the Symbol), other layers with text start to appear...
Not sure what's causing this. I would suggest to log a bug here:

And if you break the Symbol apart (select it > Modify > Symbol > Break apart) and then try to edit the text, all works normally as expected. Use this as a workaround -- I don't have a better suggestion for now...

I have a landscape picture.
Then I will copy it into another layer and convert it to black and white. I will make some changes to the B&W photo
Then I want this B&W photo to be the layer mask of a "Layer-Multiply" of the original ...
I tried copy and paste as it is, but it doesn´t works
Please help me with the steps or what I am doing wrong.

You can paint not only a black and white photo, but also a coloured one.
Once you have copied the photo (Ctrl A and Ctrl C), before trying to paste, be sure that the layer mask is active, Alt click in the layer palette in the mask icon on the right : you get a white screen and the mask icon is shown selected. Only then can you paste into the mask (Ctrl V). To exit the mask view, Alt click again or click in the layer icon on the left.
When you paste a coloured pictures it is automatically converted to grayscale.

Probleem Converting Motion Path behavior into keyframes

i'm pretty new in motion. I've been working with FCP and after Effects for quite a while now. Now i startet to learn some stuff with motion. My first problem ist kind of weired to me and i could not find any solution yet.
Problem: I have the behavior Motion path linked to an objekt. The Motion path just goes from left to the right. Now i want to convert the motion path into keyframes. If I press Command K to this, motion makes hundrets of keyframes for the motion path. But it should only create 2. The beginning point on the left and the end point on the right. If i undo the function and redo it, motion converts less keyframes than before, but still something around 15 keyframes.
Does anybody had a problem like this before and has a solution? I've already tried to play around with interpolation and splines etc. Still get the same results. Same problem.

Actually, i can just delete the keyframes.
The thing is, I don't understand, why Motion makes that many keyframes. It is just an linear Animation, that only requires 2 keyframes. The other confusing thing is, that a friend of mine tried it out on his Mac ans he told me that it worked just fine. His Motion made 2 keyframes. I saw that function on a Videotutorial, i bought, on this Tutorial 2 keyframes. I also deleted the preference file to reset Motion. But still on my Machine, Motion produces at least 15 keyframes for a linear Animation between 2 points on the X-achsis.

Yeah that works, but, it involves a click on the event, a click on edit, a click on the date, keystrokes, plus, since you can't see the next month you have to have a calendar in front of you so as to put it to the right date. It's easier just to cut it and advance the month and paste it, once you are in the right month you can move it around helter skelter willy nilly no problems. Although now that you mention it I will try it, maybe it is easier than cut and paste as I don't really care about the date, as long as it gets moved into the right month I can drag it around all I want.

Hey Carterc25, I have been dealing with the same issue this morning... I've talked to the senior adviser of Applecare and "Bruce" told me the only way to convert apple gift card to itunes is by physically going to an Apple Retail Store and buy an Itunes gift card. Many people don't understand the difference between "apple" and "itunes" in gift cards so it is only obvious more people will fall victim to scheme. My advice is DO NOT BUY APPLE GIFT CARD.
