    what RBRY says. Look at the fine print on your power brick. It says 100v-240v. This means it can handle world wattage.....both the us 110 and the UK/and other places 220. Anything that displays that range works anywhere in the world with the right plug adapter.
    You can get plug adapters at walgreens, walmart, target, kmart, best buy, office max, office depot.....almost any major retailer. Look in the travel/luggage area.
    Do some googling and find out what Italian plugs look like or you can simply find a kit that is a 'world wide' kit.

  • Do you need a converter/adapter for the iphone 4s when I go to Italy?

    Do I need a converter/adapter to charge a iphone 4s in Italy?

    No converter is needed - the AC adaptor works will all voltages.  Depending on whare you live, you may need an AC outlet adaptor in order to plug it in.

  • Will I need a converter/adapter when I move to Malaysia?

    I am moving to Malaysia and need to find out if I need to purchase a converter/adapter to use my i mac there.

    You should only need a plug adapter.   Apple iMacs work on all voltages from 100 to 250.   In other words they are universal.

  • IPhone 4 - to charge in Ireland do I need the converter/adapter or just an adapter?

    Do I need to use both the converter and adapter to re-charge my iPhone in Ireland or only the adapter?  Does the iPhone 4 plug have dual voltage capabilities of 110/240?

    Only a plug pin to outlet adapter...the Apple chargers are universal in voltage, 100-240 volts.

  • Voltage converter & adapter

    Taking my ipad2 to Italy. What do I need to get to convert the plus as well as the current? (US=110 volt @60 cycles/second). Italy = 220Volt @ 50 cycles/second) Please advise.

    You will need a plug adapter only. The iPad power supply is auto sensing, and works with voltages from 100-240 volts.

  • USB PS2 Keyboard converter adapter worked fine in 10.5, issues in 10.6

    I'm a mac user with a fetish for old IBM Model M clicky keyboards. After some sniffing around and buying a few cheap adapters that didn't work, I found this product on www.clickykeyboards.com :
    http://www.clickykeyboards.com/index.cfm/fa/items.main/parentcat/11298/subcatid/ 0/id/124184
    In short, it doesn't seem to work right with key modifiers in 10.6 whereas it did in 10.5
    =======
    The longer story with details...
    In leopard, it worked like a charm. Most important to me of course was flexibility of layout in the modifier keys. Starting from the bottom left, standard mac layout is:
    control ... option(alt) ... command(apple)
    My keyboard (late 80's classic Model M) has:
    ctrl ... [grey plastic] ... alt
    ...and the normal functionality you get when you plug in a standard 104-key windows keyboard to a mac by USB is:
    ctrl = control
    alt = option
    windows = command
    So I map as follows using the modifier keys remap function in the keyboard pane of sysprefs:
    ctrl = control
    alt = command (so it's in the same place that it would be on a mac keyboard
    caps lock = option
    And it worked beauty. The LED's for num/caps/scroll didn't do anything, which was fine, who needs them. And when I booted to WinXP via BootCamp, it also worked properly. F12 worked for both eject and dashboard, awesome.
    Just got the new snow-kitty and the remap stopped working! All the keys on the board work as designed, but no matter how I map the modifier keys in SysPrefs, alt is locked to option, ctrl to ctrl, caps lock to caps lock, the LED's work again (weird), and I have no apple key! It's like the remap values I choose are getting overridden in hardware or something.
    Anyone have any ideas? Could be the USB/PS2 converter needs a 10.6 driver, but I can't figure out who the manufacturer is...
    Before anyone suggests it, using a newer keyboard is not under any circumstances a viable option

    Already asked them earlier today, awaiting reply. They've been very helpful in the past so fingers crossed.
    I see this getting fixed by either a driver update from the manufacturer, which I'm not super-confident about since the converter has kind of a brand-X chinese vibe and no documentation whatsoever, or a different (perhaps newer) converter. Will post any follow-up I get from clickykeyboards.com here.

  • Using converter/adapter with macbook extension cord'

    I'm taking my macbook to the u.k. and want to know if i can use just an adapter with the magsafe extension cord. I already have an adapter for the the magsafe cord but may need to use the extension cord as well.

    Yes you can just use a plug adapter. It will work fine either way.

  • Will I need a converter/adapter for my Macbook Pro in Japan?

    I'm currently set to study abroad in Japan, and I have a few questions about what converters/adapters I'll need. Regrettably, I need to admit I'm not very tech-savvy, making this issue a bit more complicated for me.
    Electricity in Japan runs at 100 volts and 50 hertz, and most (if not all) outlets only accept 2-prong plugs, according to the predeparture information I was provided with.
    I should note that I lost the "plug" attachment of my Macbook's charger, meaning I have to rely exclusively on the 3-prong extension cord to plug my Macbook in. Needless to say, I should definitely get an adatper to be able to plug the 3-prong charger into Japan's 2-prong outlets.
    When it comes to voltage and frequency, though, I'm essentially clueless. What converters and/or adaptors will I need to use my Macbook Pro in Japan? Are there any converters/adapters available that can address both my 3-prong plug and volts/hertz issues in a single product, or will I have to buy a separate product for each of these needs?
    Thanks in advance.

    You can purchase a wall outlet plug adaptor by purchasing any international travel kit such as Apple's or from AAA. No other device is needed. The power unit for your computer is auto-detecting/switching.

  • What adapter/converter do I use for my USA mac book pro in NEW ZEALAND?

    I'm studying abroad in New Zealand for 2 months and was wondering what type of adapter/converter do I use? I'm actually already here in New Zealand but buy a converter/adapter before I left. What should I look for on the box? I have a mac book pro 13 in that I bought in 2011.Thanks!

    The MacBook Pro power adapter is multi-voltage capable, so you will need just an AC outlet adapter for the New Zealand power system.

  • Need power converter/plug adapter for trip to Russia

    A family member will be in Moscow, Russia for a few weeks, later this month. I've already talked to AT&T about the cost of using the phone, SMS and the data network (it ain't cheap!). However, our REAL concern is how to charge the iPhone 3G while in Moscow.
    Can someone recommend some converter/adapter devices that will suffice for the trip? I know nothing about how Russia's electric power differs from the US.
    Thanks

    Apple's Ultracompact USB Adapter works with 100-240v, 50-60 Hz. Moscow electricity is 220V 50Hz. All you would need is a European plug adapter with two circular metal pins. Here's one: http://www.calcellular.com/uni-ad-2la.html

  • Charger Buzzes when plugged into the Adapter Converter

    Im in England currently (From the USA) and am using a "DYNEX" converter adapter to switch the electric current down so I can plug in/charge my Macbook Pro and iPad.
    It works, however the charger buzzes pretty loudly and gets hot.
    Thankfully I brought two, one started smelling like melted plastic and stopped charging altogether. That particular charger has faulted at home before (back in the USA), so I'm not sure if it died because of the converter or because it's just faulty.
    I have plugged in the newer charger and it also buzzes, but I'm really worried to keep it plugged in because I don't want it to fault out too.
    Is it normal for it to buzz like that when plugged into a converter adapter?
    Thanks!

    The question again, why are you using a voltage converter?  The Apple charegers are all rated for 100-240 volts at 0-60 Hz...you only need a plug adapter to convert the US HEMA plug to the UK two round pin plug.
    Adding a voltage converter is adding one more failure point into the system.
    I have used mine all over Europe with no issues.

  • IPhone 5 , Converter / HDMI/AV / AV/AV Component / RCA Adapter and Cable to connect to HD TV

    I have the iPhone 5. I have the 8 pin to 30 pin converter adapter. I have a 30 pin HDMI/AV adapter. I also have the 30 pin AV/AV Component Cable (with RCA plugs). Can I connect my iphone 5 to my HD TV with these cords? If so, please explain how because I have tried my best to figure it out. I can get my husband's iphone 4 to connect and show on the TV but can not get my iphone 5 to.

    Yes, cable works fine alone with it.  I thought it might be something to do with the iphone power adapter and tried using the higher powered ipad adapter, but had the same results.
