Converting 15fps video to 30 fps video

I know shake as a really cool slow motion feature that will interpolate frames and make new in-between frames.
I'm curious as to how to take a clip that's at 15fps and make it 30fps, interpolating the new frames like it does when doing slow-motion stuff.
Anyone know how?

Let me clarify: you shot it at 15 fps but you want to put it in a 30 fps sequence WITHOUT it speeding up? If so, yes, adaptive with the speed set to 0.5 is the way to go. I'd suggest rendering proxies or a short range of frames with various settings to see what difference they make. Try it with AlwaysInterpolate off first, then if it flickers, switch it on.
P.S. You would not need to set it to 200% in FCP because it would already be playing at twice the speed in the 30 fps sequence.

Hello,
I have Adobe Media Encoder CS4 installed on my computer and I'm trying to convert a .mov video into a format that can be edited on windows movie maker and when I convert the video it converts the audio just fine, but there is only a black screen. Any ideas as to why this may be happening?

Which is the best software to convert the video files for itouch?

I got a 3rd gen itouch. Is there any software that helps to convert the video files. so I can sync those files to my itouch. " Handbrake " used to work pretty good. but now i still can convert the video files to m4v format but itunes doesn't allow me to put those files in. Please Help!

You may have different menu options than Half bit Bit Ah. The support page on how to do it is at https://support.apple.com/kb/TS1497. In part it says:
If you did not purchase videos from the iTunes Store, they are may not be in a format that you can play on your iPhone/iPod. In many cases, you can convert them to the correct format using iTunes or QuickTime.
* Using iTunes: Select a video and choose Advanced > Create iPod or iPhone Version
* Using Mac OS X v10.6: Open the video in QuickTime Player and choose Share > iTunes and then select the iPhone & iPod option.

Select/highlight the ones that you want to change in your iTunes library, do Get-Info (control-I) and change their Media Kind on their Options tab to 'Music Video' - and then similarly for the podcasts.

Step 1: Add YouTube URL
Step 2: Select MP3 as output format

How can I convert DVD- video into Apple's format so that I can play the content on my Mac and also stream it to my Apple TV? Apple do not have their "own" format. You need to convert your DVDs to H.264 though.

Need to convert .m4v video to be editable in iMovie '09. Driving me insane!

I am new to Macs as a whole, and have only owned my MacBook Pro for a month, now. I am skilled in iMovie '06, however, as it was a program I used at school for three years. I made some videos for my media class using iMovie '06 that I then exported to iDVD and burned. The original videos/files are at school. All I have are the DVDs. I'd like to put these videos online. I know how to use HandBrake to rip the video file off the DVD. For videos ten minutes or less, I've been able to use the .m4v file to upload to YouTube. However, I have three videos that clock in around 17 minutes, which YouTube rejects. All I want to do is open the files in iMovie and cut them in half. I know where I want to cut, and I don't want to do any editing of any kind.
iMovie won't open .m4v files, however. So I don't know what to do. What program should I use to convert the .m4v video file to a format iMovie will open and allow me to splice the video?
Is HandBrake a program for that and I'm just using it wrong?
Or do I have to choose a whole 'nother program to rip the video file off the DVD.
In short: these are my works, I want to know what FREE program to use to rip them from the DVD and be able to open them in iMovie '09 to cut them in half, or, which program to use to convert .m4v into a format readable by iMovie '09.
Please tell me in idiot's terms. I'm not that proficient with video editing or computers, so I need it laid out clear and simple.

an m4v file can be renamed to mov!!
First try that.. if you can play it your done. if you can not download perian.
If perian can't.. then you can buy quicktime pro.
I own quicktime pro and bough perian to support the video that quicktime pro didn't. When I convert avchd video from my camcorder on my G5 to something editable in imovie I use ffmpeg and also handbrake. handbrake created m4v files.
All I do is rename them and Imovie can read them in.

My ipod somehow converted my video files to music files...

Ok, I know it sounds strange, but it happened. I buy weekly episodes of South Park and The Office from iTunes so I have a video to watch while on break at work. The other day I went to watch Season 3 of The Office and the episodes have all vanished!
I looked around the iPod and found that all the videos on my iPod are missing, not just The Office. However, after looking a little more, I found all these videos in the MUSIC section of the iPod!!!
The videos no longer play with an image, they just play the sound, if even that. I'm on a new computer (I sold the old one) and don't have access to any of these files, so I can't simply reload them onto the iPod.
My question is this: since my iPod randomly converted my video files to audio files on the iPod itself, is it possible to edit them back to video?
I have two other friends who've had this same exact problem. If I can't fix it, should iTunes be responsible for replacing my missing videos? Its obviously a hardware glitch.

Your ipod did not convert them to audio files. That's impossible. If you no longer have the files on your computer, you will have to copy all your music and videos from the ipod, to your new computer and into itunes. Once you have done this, you will then be able to restore your ipod and resync all your files to the ipod.
I assume you have all ready tried restarting your ipod?

Converting S-video (analog) to DV (firewire)

In the video department at our church, we are converting our video capturing and editing into the Mac G5. Our problem is the embedded switching equipment is sending the signal through composite and s-video. Is there a piece of conversion equipment that can convert the signal from s-video to firewire so that I can get it into the G5?

I have the ADVC-100 (older model) and ADVC-110. They are identical except that the ADVC-110 does not come with an AC power adapter. Currently sells for about $220USD. If all you need to do is convert from HI8 tapes, the ADVC100/110 will do the job quite nicely.
The ADVC300 adds some enhancements for video signal cleanup, but at a higher price. Currently sells for about $450USD. The ADVC500 is overkill for home use.

I think you need the Macromedia Flash Media Server to be able
to do what you are asking. Flash 8 can with a Flash Video Encoder
but it does not do it on the fly. There maybe other 3rd party
servers that you can sign-up that allow you do this but if you are
looking for your own solution you will need the FMS 2.0.
