Converting 23.976 to 29.97i methods and confusion

Hey all, I've had a lot of trouble exporting spots out for broadcast using AME, and thought I'd see if the community here could help me out with some questions.
Some background first. Most of our footage is shot and edited in 23.976, then rendered out to a master file that retains the original framerate. Since most stations only accept 1080i footage, I use AME to convert the master file to either a MPEG2 or Quicktime ProRes 422 video that's interlaced at 29.97.
Everytime I use a preset or manually adjust settings, there's visible tearing/combing of the footage. Granted, I work at a smaller production house without a proper broadcast monitor to view playback on, but is this "normal" for watching video on a computer monitor? It seems like every other frame shows tearing, which makes me think it's more a problem with the deinterlacer than the encoder...
Second, I noticed that if I export an MPEG2 at 23.976 with a "3:2 pulldown" option, it forces AME to render "progressive". Quicktime Player X and 7 report a framerate of 29.97, while MPEG Streamclip and even AME read the file as 23.976. Any ideas what's going on here? Which framerate is it, and is it truly progressive or interlaced with pulldown flags?
Any other tips on getting a clean conversion from 23.976 to 29.97i would really be helpful, as I've been banging my head against a wall for a while trying to find the most efficient method to convert these spots.

It is.
Whether or not you get flags or genuine interlaced frames depends on the specific format. The MPEG2-DVD option, for instance, uses flags, whereas the DV format will add real pulldown.

I am trying to work on an example of "Customizing the Query and Creating an Associated Custom Method"

You need to set values for the parameters in your query before you try to execute the query in the view object.
So you need to call the setBindVars method before the query.

it seems my subscription had expired so I signed up again.. It was still having trouble so I repeated the sign up process again.. Then it worked perfectly.. Unfortunately, I think I just subscribed twice and need to cancel one of them. Ugh. Such a pain when I'm trying to get this project completed. I'll be canceling at least one of the subscriptions in the morning. Adobe is not my favorite company right now. None of this was intuitive. And trying to get help was an absolute waste of an hour.

Session
Session method supports both small amount of data aswell as large amount of data

Call Transaction

Whats the difference between a class method and a instance method.

I have a quiz pretty soon and one of the questions will be: "How does an instance method differ from a class method." I've tried looking this up but they gave me really complicated explanations. I know what a instance method is but not really sure what a class one is. Can someone post an example of a class method and try to explain what makes it so special?

First you need to install a means of printing to pdf from word. I like cutepdf writer ( http://cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp ). Once installed you will print the doc in word and under the printer selection you choose pdf.
Once you have the file you put it in your local site folders and upload it using Dreamweaver. Be sure to link to it from a page so users can get to it and I would recommend giving the link a target of _black so it will open in a new window (see the properties inspector in DW).

I have no clue what you mean by "all the different methods." Here are my suggestions.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

If AMDS is running, you are using a USB port directly on the computer and not a hub, you have disconnected other USB devices except keyboard and mouse, you have completely uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes as described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925, You have tried cleaning the connector on the bottom of the phone, you have tried a different cable, you have installed the latest USB drivers for your computer, you have disabled your antivirus and firewall, you are running as an Administrator account and you have tried creating a new user on your computer and connected when logged in as that user then you have exhausted my knowledge. The only other thing to try is a different computer. If it isn't recognized on a different computer you have a hardware problem. Good luck!

Open up The LV Help and goto the search tab to look for ActiveX Server Virtual. You should find a page called ActiveX Server Virtual Instrument Class Properties and Methods. This lists all the methods and properties of the Virtual Instrument object.

Hi,
I have a dll for which to use it, i need to know the methods and the fields available for public use. Is there anyway to find out that information using any tool. I dont have any literature about the dll. Only have that dll.

You can find an article about creating the methods on the Microsoft Developement Network call "How to Create 32-bit Import Libraries Without .OBJs or Source"
However that is only part of the problem.
Consider if you find that the dll has a function like this:
InitApplication(char*, int, char, long);
What do you put in for each of those parameters? The only way I know to do that it to use a debugger and step through the assembler code figuring it out as you go. Alternatively you buy or find a disassembler - C code would probably be easier to figure out.
I would also seriously suggest finding some different lists/news groups than this one. The topic has nothing to do with java. So you are likely to get better help somewhere that is more specific - like one of the MS lists.

Priority or payment method and Vendor in F110

Hi All,
During APP (F110) which takes the priority. Payment Method or Vendor.
For Example we have given Payment Methos as A & F in payment Run and Vendor as 30000. This vendor has payment method H on its master.
Now when we are running payment run it is picking this vendor in exception list;
Error#016 Pmnt methods for this run are not specified in master record or in item
Is it because we specified this vendor in Payment run and the payment method used is different.
Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.

Your Question as to which one takes priority in F110, the vendor or the Payment Method.. so please understand, that System will have vendors mentioned as the base for checking.. the question of priority does not come here..it will check for all documents posted for this vendor with payment method A & F and propose for Payment, and if it does not find anything, it will show this vendor in the exception list.
I guess you are asking, whether system would propose, all vendors line items with Payment method A & F as per your question of priority, then the answer is "No'. System does not behave like that.
For all vendors that you have specified in the list of vendors in the parameters, it will check whether the Payment method mentioned in parameters exists or not, if yes, it will propose all line items with that payment method and if none found, it will show that vendor in exception list.
