Converting a video still into a jpeg...

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to convert a video still into some form of jpeg or gif. The still is in iMovie but I also have Final Cut HD... don't know if it is easier to use Final Cut. Thanks.

Locate the video still you wish to make a JPEG from, and go to Edit->Create Still Frame. A still frame clip is created in the clips pane.
Then after you have clicked on the still frame to highlight it, go to File->Save Frame.
You will then see a window appear that has the option to save it as JPEG or PICT and asks you for a location for the save.
Note: the saved JPEG will not be as sharp as a photo because it is taken from video (motion) clip.

I have JPEG images stored in ECC. ECC stores the data in binary format.
Iu2019m using the ECC function module SKWF_PHIO_CONTENT_ACCESS_GET to retrieve the data. This function module has an export table, FILE_CONTENT_BINARY, which returns several lines of data. Each line contains a maximum of 1,024 characters.
When I drop the T_ FILE_CONTENT_BINARY.LINE field into my Crystal Report detail section, I wind up with a report that displays all the lines in FILE_CONTENT_BINARY table. (in my case, 19 lines are displayed.)
I created a formula to collect all the data into a single string.

I added the formula to the detail section and itu2019s doing a great job collecting the data.

My clever idea turned out to be a disappointment . . . . my picture object is blank.
Does anyone have a solution for converting a binary string into a JPEG image?

Save the JPEG in a format CR supports. Refer to the help file for the file types.

Windows Media Player on a PC plays avi and mpg in addition to the WMV and ASF files so you can either use a Windows program that generates those files from .mov format or you can use QT Pro to convert the .mov to uncompressed avi and then use Windows Media Encoder to make WMV files. Although it may be out there no one here has mentioned a PC program that converts directly from .mov format to WMV. There is a program for Mac OS that does it and I believe that company is working on a version for Intel Macs so it wouldn't be much of a stretch for them to port it to Windows.

What are people using to convert .3gp video files into something compatible with iMovie? Does Apple have SW to do this?

I am trying to find the best and safest way to convert .3gp video from my Blackberry into a file format that iMovie will recognize. I see lots of potential downloads, but I am hoping for some recommendations on which SW is most helpful. Thanks.

There is a free App called MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5. You can drag your .3gp into MPEG Streamclip. Then FILE/EXPORT TO QUICKTIME.
For HD sizes (1280x720 or 1920x1080), choose Apple Intermediate Codec as the Video Codec.
For smaller sizes, you can also use Apple Intermediate Codec, but h.264 will also work and will give a smaller file size.
Then import this new file into iMovie using FILE/IMPORT MOVIES

Converting a video clip into individual frames

I have been asked by a company to send a 30-second clip that has been converted into individual, sequential frame files; and then put those frames into a bimap or tiff format.
Obviously it can be done; unfortunately I've never heard of this. Does anyone know how to do this? Can this be accomplished on FCPX?
I am using FCPX 10.1.3 on a Mac Pro 10.9.4. The video clips were imported as an .MXF file and then transcoded into an .MOV file through a sony plug-in in FCP. I've been told these transcoded files are wrapped in .MOV but still retain the Sony-specific codec. I am rather new to Final Cut, so that may be irrelevant information for this question.

Click the Share Button and then Add Destination.
Image Sequence is in the 2nd column 4th from the top (selected but difficult to notice.)
Afterwards, select the destination from the column on the left and rename it (optional/recommended) and set its settings. Below, I'm setting a destination for JPEG Image Sequence:
After it's created, you can just select the destination from the Share menu.

I just purchased export pdf and I'm trying to convert from pdf to word or ppt. The pdf is an image / logo that I want to make a jpeg. I used the export utility and keep getting random characters and not an image. I'm guessing it's looking for text. Do I have the right utility?

I don't see converting to Word as the right way to go if you want a picture.
Instead, view in Adobe Reader as large as possible, take a screen shot, paste in PAINT.

I have received via a web service a String that is in fact a Base64 encoding of a JPEG image. How do I convert this back to a JPEG.

Converting .MOV video file into FLV format?

Hello, I finished editting a corporate video for client and they want to know if I can also send them an FLV format video.
Does anyone know how I can do this. I edited video in Final Cut Pro and used Compressor to export my final .mov video file.

The best method would be to use a Flash encoder to transcode the video. Do you have a Flash encoding application?
Another method would be to export an H.264 file of the video. When it's finished, change the file extension to .flv. It should play in later versions of Flash player, but won't play in older versions.

You cannot directly open a Word document in Photoshop, nor can you save a .jpeg in Microsoft Word. A work around for this is to save the document as a PDF, which will allow you to open it in Photoshop:
1. Open your document in Microsoft Word. Select File > Save As... and select PDF from the Format dropdown menu.
2. Open Photoshop and go to File > Open... and select your newly created PDF file. An Import PDF dialog box will pop up. From the "Crop To" dropdown menu, select Media Box. This will prevent Photoshop from cropping your document size down to just the text area. Click OK.
3. Now, you can select File > Save As..., and select JPEG from the Format dropdown menu.
A quick note, when I opened the PDF in Photoshop, there was a transparent background behind my text. To solve this, just create a new fill layer by going to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color... and selecting white. Then just drag this fill layer below the layer with your text on it. This layer will flatten when you save your image as a jpeg.

There are 3rd party utilities available that "rip" content into a compatible format - most include an iPod and/or iPhone format selection. If a video plays in iTunes, iTunes includes an option to convert a selection for iPod/iPhone.

Still no Audio after converting the video to MP4?

I have a 60gig IPod Video using windows XP. I have used the Videora Converter to Convert the video to MP4. Then I have imported the video into itunes and then put it on my IPod but there is still no Audio when I try to watch it. There is audio watching it through itunes though. I also tried clicking on "convert selection for ipod" in the advanced menu and it stated that it was already in the correct format. Can anyone help?

I have read that article and I thought it ment that the sound will work after you convert to the MPEG4 format, which I did.
Are you saying that if it starts out as "Muxed audio" then there is no way to convert it?
If that is the case then in what situation would you need to use the Videora Converter?

Select/highlight the ones that you want to change in your iTunes library, do Get-Info (control-I) and change their Media Kind on their Options tab to 'Music Video' - and then similarly for the podcasts.

Apple do not have their "own" format. You need to convert your DVDs to H.264 though.
