Converting a web-based text page to XMP

I have a live, web-based text feed that contains all of the metadata I want to capture. I want to tag this metadata to video and image files, and I want that information to stay with the video and image files throughout the production process (ie. the metadata information should be available in transcoded copies of the video files and so on).
I'd also like to use this metadata to create data-driven graphics in Photoshop. At this stage I can get basic datasets working in PS, but I have to cut-and-paste the info from some cells into a .csv file first. Ideally I'd like to eliminate this manual step as it introduces the possibility of human error, which is what I'm trying to eliminate in the first place.
Photoshop can't read the whole text file as a dataset because I think it's in an array (I'm not sure, I don't get it), and from my understanding datasets will only work with .csv files.
It should be a relatively simple process to grab information from a live, web-based text feed and convert it to useable metadata, but I find the XMP SDK completely indecipherable. Apologies for my ignorance but I have no coding experience whatsoever and it seems like it's written in an alien language. Can someone please offer some advice as to how I go about this? Attached is a copy of the text file I'm trying to use.
Thanks to anyone with enough smarts or nerd power to crack it... it's beyone me, I've wasted weeks staring at a blank page and I'm more confused now than when I started.

Hi,
what you are planning to do seems technicaly possible with our XMP C++ SDK. But you really need programming skills in C/C++ to realize this project.

Samy

  • My contacts aren't showing up on the integrated messaging online/web-based texting page. How do I get my contacts to show up? Thanks.

I just started with Verizon. At work, I like to text online and you can do this with their "integrated messaging" platform. However, my contacts aren't showing up. How do I get my contacts to show up? When I start typing in the "to" field, it doesn't short list my contacts for example. Thank you.

    Hi Pamela,
    Thanks for writing back.
No, *all *contacts are missing when I to go "vtext" online. Someone else
from verizon responded and said it wouldn't sync to there, those have to be
entered manually. I thought that was a poor app, as apps like Heywire and
Whatsapp let you see your full contacts on their online web-texting sites.
I haven't used the verizon cloud. I thought it was $2.95/month? Would
backing up my phone to the cloud let me see my contacts when I use vtext?
    Thank you,
    Paula

  • How do I convert a web based file to a PDF file?

How do I convert a web based file to a PDF file? I know that you "Print to File" but for some reason that is not working for me.  I have Adobe Reader X, shouldn't that be able to create a PDF like this, or is there another program that I need to do this?  Thanks.

    Hi, gfrerichs.
Reader X cannot create a PDF file - it can only view and print existing PDF files.
In order to create a PDF file (for example, print a webpage as a PDF, as you mentioned), you can purchase our CreatePDF service. This service includes a CreatePDF Printer which can print web pages to PDF.
Or you could purchase Acrobat, which can also convert webpages to PDF.

  • Web based admin pages broken on Mac?

    Have new WRT54GL v 1.1, 4.30.7 firmware.
I have noticed intermittent problems with the web-based admin pages, using both Firefox and Safari on the Mac. Odd bit is these don't happen all the time and I'm not sure yet what triggers the problems.
Most commonly seen in Firefox: On the page for basic wireless settings, drop-down menu for selecting the channel will not work. It will display the currently selected channel, but clicking on the menu will either not drop down at all, or it will drop down briefly with no channel selections visible.
In Safari: Many of the drop-down titles and item will shows the intended text prefixed with the word "Capture" or bracketed in "Capture(itemName)." I've seen a few variations on this. Also, many item titles and text are simply missing from many of the pages when viewed in Safari.
    Questions (some rhetorical, some practical):
    * Anybody else seen these or similar problems?
    * Known solutions/work-arounds?
    * Does this happen with any browsers on the PC?
    * Is there something fundamentally wrong with how WRT54GL's scripting builds these user interface items - or is the problem more related to how the Mac browser handles the rendering?
    -Lee

I don't have any problems with this firmware on my WRT54Gv2 using MacOS or Windows and any browser I have.
Those problems are usually either cache problems, i.e. there are some incomplete files in the browser cache.
Could be disabled JavaScript. (It is worth to check the JavaScript error log to see if there is problem)
Could be a hardware/memory problem. Sometimes this happens after a firmware upgrade which did not correctly go through. A re-flash of the same firmware could help then.
The Safari texts you see are normal. There JavaScript works a little different. I have the same on mine. (but I must admit I cannot tell you if I can configure the router with Safari as I have never tried it so far. I usually use only Firefox.)
You can try a PC and see if it is the same there. I guess it is.
Anyway, you are not alone with this problem. I would try to clear the cache, if that makes no difference, download the 4.30.7 firmware and re-flash the router. If that still makes no difference return it to the store if you can and get a replacement. You could ask them to hook it up there to a computer to see if it is any better there...

  • WPA Security, Crashing OS, Locked out of Web-Based Setup Page. AAAaaarrrrrrgggg!

I tried several times to enable WPA security on my WMP54GS router by using the "Secure Easy Setup" button in the Wireless Network Monitor Panel. I pressed the lighted Cisco logo on the router as directed, I clicked on the "next" button on screen, and Windows crashed. (That is, my system rebooted and Windows reported that it had recovered from a serious error.)  I am running XP. I also tried to enable security using the router’s web-based setup page.  I followed the instructions, and a new web screen appeared stating "error on page."  I tried again to enable security using the web-based setup page, but now it won't let me in using the default password (admin).  I tried resetting the router by pressing the reset button for 30 seconds, but I still cannot access the web-based setup page. Sooooooo, I'm out of ideas.  Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

    Hi
When configuring your wireless settings, use a wired computer and not a wireless computer. Because it will not be able to apply the new settings. Its like trying to troubleshoot a automobile malfunction while you are driving the car itself.

  • WRT54G V8 Can't connect to web based setup page?

Earlier I reset my router and was able to use 192.168.1.1 to visit the web based setup page while trying to re-establish a home network now that I have a new computer using Windows 7 which can not use the easylink advisor. I was able to get on the page to update my SSID and WEP key. But when my wireless devices were still having problems connecting to the internet I tried to go back to the page and found that I can't get it to connect, though my desktop is able to connect to other internet sites just fine.
Does anyone know what i can be doing wrong? I am using Verizon DSL. I was able to ping the router and all tests showed that it was connected fine, yet I still cannot get on the setup page and my laptop still can't connect to the network. I have tried resetting the router again, and still nothing. And yes, I have gone through numerous power cycles. I also tried going though the network map on my computer, but the computer says it was unable to create a map for it even though at the time I had it listed as a Home network.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Wireless connections to 192.168.1.1  often fail.  When accessing the router setup pages, always use a computer that is wired to the WRT54G.
If the above does not solve your problem, then here are my other tips for viewing the router setup pages:
You do not need an Internet connection. The router's "web pages" are built into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
Point your browser to 192.168.1.1 , then login to your router. Your user name should be left blank. Your password is "admin" (with no quotes), unless you changed it.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
Some Zone Alarm users have reported that adding 192.168.1.1 to their list of "trusted" addresses fixed the problem. This trick might also work with other firewalls.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Report back with this problem, and also state the make and exact model number of your modem (not the router).
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system.  The router should work, but you will need to setup your router again from scratch.  If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
If you still have trouble, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

  • WRT54GX4 - Difficulties Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page

    WRT54GX4 - Difficulties Accessing the Router's Web-Based Setup Page.
I have tried everything posted to the forums and the Knowledge Base for several weeks now with no luck.  I can power push router and gain access to router's web-base interface but only for a few minutes than it quits loading part way through and or does not load at all.  If I turn off the wireless side I can access the router at will with no problems. My warranty is almost over. I am at my wits end. I would like to get it replaced under warranty if I can. (^8

Thank you for your recommendations peanuts. (^8
I bought the router back in December 10, 2006.
I updated the firmware to v1.00.20 back in June 2007. After I did a successful firmware upgrade I reset the router to factory default settings and then reconfigured it. It has worked Ok till a couple of months ago.
I have read everything I can find here on the support forum and in the Knowledge Base several times.
I have tried changing all the different settings to the different recommendations posted here and in Knowledge Base with no success. Each time I would do a long reset back to factory defaults, let it soak for a few hours and then make one change at a time and let it soak.
I have been monitoring 6 other wireless AP(s) around me (none mine) for a couple of months too. None of them are strong enough to connect to. My SSID is different from them. I have tried all the channels. My router is passworded and MAC'd.
It is looking like it is time to call support and try to get a replacement under warranty while it is still in affect.

  • Error in router's web-based setup page (WRT54G V5)

    Hi,
My router’s web-based setup page is unable to load fully.
There seems to be an error with some document.setup.save file.
I have tried to reset my router but the router’s web-based setup page is still unable to load fully.
    Please help.

Try Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Temporarily turn off your computer's software firewall, and see if that corrects your problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can not login to my EA4500 router's web based setup page

Hello All-I have a EA4500 router. I attempted to login to my router' web based  setup page late last year using my IE11 browser.I received an error message stating that I cannot login with that browser. I need an updated   IE,Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to be able to  visit that site. I attempted about 3 more times and received the same error message. I switched to Google Chrome that worked very well up to tonight(3/31/2004). Cisco web page is preventing me from opening my setup page. I believe I should be contacting Customer Support about this problem but none of their support options cover this problem. Thanks in advance.

IE 11 isn't compatible.  Use Google Chrome if you don't want to uninstall IE 11 and go back to IE 10.
You can force the local login by disconnecting the cable from the router's internet port and then logging in.
If the Smart Wifi is giving you trouble and you don't mind reconfiguring your router. Then you could disable Smart Wifi services.
    To disable Smart Wifi Services:
Reset the router to factory defaults (recessed button for 30 seconds or through the router UI)
For setup choose "I want to skip Setup and configure my router manually"
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • Need access the E1000's web-based setup page.

I have a Linksys E1000 wireless router, and I seem to have either written down the password incorrectly or am using the wrong one. Regardless, I can not access the web-based setup for the router. Is there anyway to reset the username and password for it?
    Solved!

Yes, there is.  You'll have to reset the router back to defaults, which will reset the password back to the default password for your router.  Unfortunately , you'll also have to reconfigure the settings, since all settings go back to factory default.  Just hold press the recessed "reset" button for your router for about 30 seconds, then release it.  After the router has re-initialized itself, you'll be able to log in to the web GUI again with the default password.

  • Pearl 8120 failing to load University's web based security page

I have a 8120 Blackberry pearl and it is connecting to the wireless and receiving an IP address however it won't redirect to the web based security screen that is used to log on. I tried the IT guys on campus but they were clueless.
    Can Anyone Help?

You don't happen to go to Texas A&M do you?  I tried to do this same thing on our campus (connect to VPN) and it doesn't work. The help desk central guys said they have recieved several emails recently regarding connecting new Blackberries (apparently 8120's or 8830's) to the network, and they couldn't get it to work.  They believed it was a disagreement between the software and the network.  I feel the same thing because I can see the network, I enter my password and username and try to connect, but it doesn't want to work for some reason.  It says connection failed for some reason. If you find anything out just reply back to this.  If I find anything out, I will also reply back, or maybe start a new thread. Jay
UPDATE: Okay, looked up a few things....this may alleviate the problem.   Instead of connecting via the WiFi screen as usual, you may have to connect via the VPN screen.  To get to this, go to Settings>Options>Security Options>VPN>Log In.
I haven't tried this yet, but I will soon to see if it works.  There has got to be a way to get this thing to connect, I just don't know how to yet.  More tomorrow...

  • How do I set up a Web-based access page to allow access to the internet through my router?

My wireless router is a WRT54G.  I own/manage several condos in a building and guests change all the time.  I want to set up a network with internet access similar to hotels and airports where access is granted after being directed to a web page and entering a password.  How do I set this up?  (I have several domains/websites if this is needed.)

Not with standard firmware and no other equipment.
If you want standard firmware and warranty and service you have to look at more expensive equipment.
For some WRT54G you can flash 3rd party firmware which opens up the Linux on the router. See the wikipedia article for "WRT54G" for a start. Also check out dd-wrt. Some people there use the WRT in hotspot setups with dd-wrt. They should be able to point you into the right direction.
Otherwise, what you are able to do with the WRT and standard firmware is radius authentication with WPA or WEP (called WPA Enterprise or similar...). This however, does not redirect you to access through a web site. You have to enter the username and password when you connect wireless to the router on your computer. If it matches you get access. Again: there is no web site involved here and if you don't know the username/password you cannot access anything not even an internal, free homepage. This also does not work for wired access to the router.

  • Problems with the web based email page and Windows...

We've just upgraded our PC to Windows 8 and I've read the bit on the Help page which says that Yahoo Mail is not compatible with Windows 8 and that we need to access our email via the webpage. Fair enough - though why Yahoo mail still won't work with Windows 8, which after all isn't that new is another matter.
Our problem is that when we access our email via the www.bt.com webpage we have the following problems:
It seems to be very slow
When you click on the first unopened email in the list to open it, it usually opens one further down the list. You can get it to open the one you want if you tick the box next to it first, but that wasn't what you needed to do previously.
When you try andreply to an email and start typing, your text appears in one place while the curser is actually somewhere else. If you make a mistake when typing and try and go back it doesn't work well.
I tried getting help via a Live Chat with someone but she directed me back to the page I'd already seen saying BT Yahoo Mail and Windows 8 can't talk to each other and you need to access emails via the webpage.
Has anyone else had the same problem? Any answers?
    Thanks - Kiwirob199
