Converting a works file to a pdf

I just downloaded Adobe XI Pro.  How do I convert a Works file into a pdf?

Specifically, you downloaded Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. (Adobe creates many software applications.)
Installing Acrobat also creates a printer - Adobe PDF
From Works, Print. Select Adobe PDF as the printer.

Try Exporting. There are also number of useful Export PDF presets that come with design.
What do you want to do with the PDF?

  • In Adobe Pro XI when converting an excel file to a pdf, the pdf is not retaining the page size settings.  Has anyone found a fix for this?

In Adobe Pro XI when converting an excel file to a pdf, the pdf is not retaining the page size settings.  Has anyone found a fix for this?

It shouldn't print each page as a separate job and
each tab has a different name, so, even if it did, it
ought to give the printouts the name of the tabs.
It doesn't print each page as a separate job unless the orientation is different - that's the bug. And the name of the job is taken from the name of the window, not the name of the tabs. That's how every application works, which, I think, is why Excel allows the specific selection or the active sheets to be printed.
Still, that does sound like a plausible explanation.
However, even if presented with multiple prints with
the same name, the spooler should print each one!
The spooler does print each one - you can watch the spooler process the multiple jobs. I think, though, that they are being overwritten since all the jobs have the name of the window as the job title. And since this happens after the Save Dialog is presented, there's really nothing the application can do. To Excel, it's one job, the multiple orientations don't matter; it's just that Apple doesn't handle it correctly.
As a workaround, you can print the selections one at a time and give them unique names and then rejoin them in one PDF file.

  • I am converting a .docx file to a pdf and the text is coming out blurry

I am trying to convert a .docx file to a pdf and the text keeps coming out blurry. Some sentences seem to be bolded in the pdf as well. All the colored text seems like there's a shadow behind it and all the text in bold seems extra blurry. I am saving the file as a pdf. I tried to print the file as a pdf but it kept crashing. I have adobe acrobat pro and distiller, but I'm not savy about which program does what.
    Thanks for any help!

If you are trying to convert a Word file, ensure the text is in 100% black only.
To create PDF's there are hundreds of different combinations that can be used, but only a few will give you a good 'print ready' file, which is what I think you may be after.
You may have font issues that are stopping the text looking sharp.
If you have Distiller, you can try to print as .ps (save as postscript), load distiller up and choose one of the high quality settings in the pop down menu.
If you are working on a Mac you can drag and drop the .ps file direcetly on the dock icon for distiller, or if you are running Windows you will need to navigate to the file via the menu bar (you will need to know where you have saved your .ps file).
There may be other issues with the original file format that is causing problems with your PDF creation.
Let me know how you get on.
    Cheers

  • I want to convert a word file to a PDF

I want to convert a Word file to a PDF file. I can't get past the page that states choose the file I want to convert. Nothing happens when I select the word file I want to convert

    Hi larryjohn,
I'm sorry that you're having trouble converting your Word file to PDF. Does it happen with just one particular Word file, or are you running into the same issue with any Word file?
For starters, please try the following:
Clear your browser cache (steps to do this vary by browser)
If you're using a work computer, check with your IT team to confirm if you have firewall/proxy settings that restrict the ability to upload files to the internet.
Lastly, if the issue persists after the steps above, please try another web browser.  A list of supported browsers for accessing the ExportPDF service is available here: http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/
Please let us know how that goes, and if we can be of further assistance.
    Best,
    Sara

    Hello,
    Ok, this is the background.
I’m a publisher. Any document to end user will go as pdf. And off course it preserves the word appearance. We ship our manuals only in pdf.  At this point my end users have to copy the “CODES” into his editor to run the product.  So when doing it, the “Codes” copied from pdf to his editor loses its format.  Editor need not be the actual one; you can also test in a notepad.
P.S: You can find the difference by copying the code from word to notepad and pdf to notepad
Hope you now understood the purpose what I’m looking at for.

  • How do I convert a MSWord file in a pdf file

    Hello...
I want to convert a MSWord file in a pdf file automaticly within a Servlet.
I don't know exactly what library I should use. The word file can contain
any number of things(images, tables, special characters).... I've seen that with iText I have to consider each situation separatly(I have to know what's in the word file in order to generate the pdf file--this becomes very complicated)... Is there any other solution...other product that that can interpret the content of the word file and then convert it in pdf?
Can anyone give me a hint?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick repsonse! That is what I thought but in Aperture (V 3.4.5) I do not have a PDF option under Print!! Is it possibly hidden somewhere?
You first should get a panel with the page layout, and when you press the "Print" button in the panel,  you'll see the Printer settings. Here you should find the "PDF" button in the lower left corner.
