Can we convert .chm files to pdf files using robohelp plz?
any help regarding this would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
Wrong workflow. The RH project that created the CHM can
produce other outputs. What you do is create a printed output as
described in the Printed Documentation article on my site. Don't be
put off by the length of the article. Producing the output is
simple but the article explains pretty much everything in detail.
In theory you can output direct to PDF but most people find
there are some tweaks they want to make in Word first, better page
breaks and so on. You can also create the PDF from Word.

Convert CDA files using Adobe Soundbooth

In the help file for Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, under "Importing digital audio", it states:
"You can use CD audio (CDA) files in a project, but before you can import them into Adobe Premiere Pro, you need to convert them to a supported file format, such as WAV. You can convert CDA files using an audio application such as Adobe Soundbooth"
Ok, I have Adobe Soundbooth, but I can't find out any information for how to perform this import. It is a common need that most people have to be able to import music or audio from a CD. Can anyone provide the method of performing this action using Adobe Soundbooth?

How do I get a compiled help .chm file out of a FrameMaker book file using Robohelp 9

I have tried to follow documentation but to be honest it is not very helpfule. On the occaision that I did get a .chm file output I was the only one that could read it. I know that I have an issue with mapping styles because we do not normally use FrameMaker paragraph styles (we are going to do something about that) but not being able to even get a complete help file is a suprise.
I imported the book file as instructed int he associated help file and followed the other intstructions but have drawn a blank.
Any hints would be enourmouslsy helpful.

OK, first of all, that's a HUGE size for a video. Any video finalized for handoff should be compressed.
What kinds of storage devices are you using? Make sure the storage device you use is formatted as Mac OS Extended (or Windows NTFS if you have a Mac driver that can write to it.)
If you are using a USB stick drive or disk drive, check how it is formatted. If it is formatted as FAT32 (most usually are, for compatibility with both Mac and Windows), the maximum size file you can put on it is 4GB and your 9.3GB file is over double the limit.
If the assessor uses a Mac, just format as Mac OS Extended and there should be no problem. But still, a 9.3GB video is ridiculously large (that is to say ludicrously large, keep in mind that even DVDs only hold 4.7GB) and you should have edited it down or lowered the resolution or compressed or all three it so that it's measured in MB, not GB.

Decompiling chm file with Robohelp 7

I am evaluating Robohelp 7. I am trying to decompile a chm
file and cannot find where this feature is located in Robohelp 7.
Does anyone know? The older version had the feature in the Tools
tab. Robohelp 7 does not have a Tools tab.

decompiled the chm file and found out that it was created using
Flare. The source files are missing. Can you point me to
information on how to create an hhp file? I downloaded the product
you recommended on your web site, HHP builder. I tried opening the
HELP so I can get instructions on using it and the help will not
open. Can you recommend a web site that provides information on how
to use HHP builder?

Import CHM files in RoboHelp 9

Product mananger is saying the the CHM file has later information than the HTMs files. Not sure how that could be. Is there any possible way to import CHM File into an existing RoboHelp project file?

I have formatting problems when deploying Help files using RoboHelp 8

When i deploy the Help files. The formatting of the Numbering/bullets are affected and it is parts of the help files that i have not changed. Is there something else that i need to do to fix it?

What sort of help are you generating?
Are you saying it is OK in Design Editor and not in a brower, if you are generating WebHelp? If yes, what browser and is it the same in all browsers?

Cant find converted music file using videora

Ok after i convert a movie with videora
It says convertion succesfull
So i go to look for it in my documents and it doesnt show up
I dont know hwta is wrong
Ive even tried to change wherer the video goes after it is converted
But i still cant find it
I go to wherer it should be
and it aint there

Problems converting XviD files using Adobe Media Encoder

hi guys,
so i downloaded a trial of adobe premier cs4 to see if it would be any good for editing my videos, im importing media from 2 compact video devices that encode in XviD MPEG-4.
I heard that you cant really directly edit XviD and that i should recode it first, however when i try to media encoder instantly crashes saying:

MPEG of any kind is not supported in the trial. That might explain it.

Converting .XSL file to RFC using File Adapter

I need to convert .xsl file using XI and send an RFC. I am not sure how to do that. Do i need to write some JAVA API's for the same. Is File adapter capable of converting .xsl files.

try in the following ways
Write a simple XSLT mapping or java mapping to change the value of the attribute "encoding" to "ISO-8859-1" in the output XML of message mapping . Include this XSLT or Java map as the second mapping step in your interface mapping.
An example of the XSL code might be as follow:

I want to use adobe to convert aPDF file into a word document that I can edit.How??

I select a PDF file and then use adobe to open it .It then asks me do I want to "save" the file.I save it and when I open it there is nothing there?There is no option to immediately open it in word!

After you've saved the converted file to your hard drive, you'll want to navigate to where it's been saved and then open it in Word.
Alternatively, you could convert your files using ExportPDF's web interface. To do this, simply visit http://exportpdf.acrobat.com and click 'Sign in' at the top right corner. Enter your Adobe ID (email address) credentials to log into the service. After you're logged in, you should see the ExportPDF interface, with a button saying 'Select PDF file..' to get the process started.

Converting wmv files for use in imovie 9 for users who have pc

To convert wmv files use your pc windows movie maker. (if you have one) On your pc, open windows movie maker, get collections and get your wmv project/video, drag it into the timeline, and then save in your computer, save it as an avi file and rename it. After send file to your memory card reader, that way you can transfer that file onto your mac!! And voila! I tried to email it but file became too large so transfering it to a memory card is the easiest. This took me days to figure out, I hope I have helped someone out there.....

I don't want to use DV because these .m2t files are from an HDV camcorder and I want to preserve the aspect ratio and resolution in the files. What other "flavor" of HD would you suggest that I convert them to since (a) I can't bring the files into FCP6 or Compressor (b) I don't see any other flavors of HD to use in VisualHub.
The whole business of converting .m2t files to a FCP6 compatible format, i.e. a Quicktime format, would seem to be one that is commonly encountered, and yet I have never found a thread on this forum that really answers this question: What is the best workflow for converting .m2t files for use in FCP? Surely, one of the pros who frequent this forum must have dealt with this issue and have an answer.
I don't want to have to recapture the files from tape all over again just to use them in FCP6.

I do not have an HP Pocket drive but according to the manual...
The pocket acts as any other drive to store files on. Its the media player that you use that has to support the type of file you are playing.
This is cut from the manual.
"File types supported by HP Pocket PlaylistYour playback device may not support all of the following formats. If your playback device does not support a format, use the ArcSoft MediaConverter 7 computer application to convert (transcode) the files into a format that will play back on your mobile device.
HP Pocket Playlist supports the following file formats:
Video: .avi, .3gp, .flv, .m4v, .m4p, .mov, mp4, .mpeg, .mpeg2, .mpg, .ogg, .qt, .ts, .tts, .wmv
Music: .aac, .ac3, .adts, asf, .lpcm, .m4a, .mp3, wav, wma
Photo: .bmp, .gif, .jpeg, .png, .tiff, .tif
You need to import files with the "Arcsoft Media Converter" which will convert the format for you.

To Convert ASCII Data to PDF file

Does any one knows how to convert ASCII data into PDF document using Java. I know there are some 3 party tools available which does this, but i don't want to use any 3 party tools.
Can help on this matter, doing it using java programming will be appreciated

if you don't want to use 3rd party tools, then you will need to go read either the source of an app that does it, and port/copy it.
Or go read the the specs.
