Converting data from a clob to RTF in Oracle Reports

Hello
I have created a table in my database and one of the columns is a CLOB , data in the CLOB i've copied from a word document .
I've created a report that has to retrieve the value from the CLOB in RTF output, the problem is that the output is in binary format .
If someone can help me i relly appreciate.
Another thing , i tried saving a doc file into a html file , opening the html file with a notepad , and the content of the notepad putting into a CLOB , after putting in the text into the first tab 'text' i've checked the html tab and it appears to be ok in plsql dev,in report I used on the field properties that contains html tags = yes . But the output was not the same as in the CLOB tab html , it had other formatting and looked totally different , i'm almost sure that the problem is from tags , but modifying them takes too much time and I have too many reports that i must make in word and i cannot work on modifying the tags.
PS: I use Oracle Reports 6i
Anyone knows an alternative method for putting data from a doc document into a clob and making a query in reports that retrieves the value of the clob , and the output has to be rtf or pdf ?
Thank you in advance

       "MM/DD/YYYY".
    5. the BLDAT field is having diff format in internal  table and BSAD table. So I am unable to check this value.
How to convert it as like the BSAD table format."MM/DD/YYYY" format.
    Thanks in advance!!

how to I convert data from oracle database into excel sheet.
I need to import columns and there datas from oracle database to microsoft excel sheet.
Please let me know the different ways for doing this.
    Thanks.

asktom.oracle.com has an excellent article on writing a PL/SQL procedure that dumps data to an Excel spreadsheet-- search for 'Excel' and it'll come up.
You can also use your favorite connection protocol (ODBC, OLE DB, etc) to connect from Excel to Oracle and pull the data out that way.

How can i convert data from DBF to oracle database 10g?

I assume you at least know how to dump the contents of foxpro dbf file into CSV format.
Regarding SQL*Loader, hope this demo makes it a bit clear to you...

I agree that it is an old web page (references Oracle 8.0.5) but basics remain the same.

  • Convert date from YYYYMMDD to DDMMYYYY

Please help if anyone knows any function module to convert date from YYYYMMDD to DDMMYYYY format..
    Thanks in Advance,
    manjari

    Hello.
    Simply do like this:
    DATA: datum TYPE char10.
    WRITE sy-datum TO datum <format option>.
    <format options>:
    DD/MM/YY and MM/DD/YY:
Both additions have the same effect. The date output has a two-digit year value and a separator. The separator and the order are taken from the definition for date output in the user master record.
    DD/MM/YYYY und MM/DD/YYYY:
Both additions have the same effect. The date output has a four-digit year value and separator. The separator and the order are taken from the definition for date output in the user master record.
    DDMMYY und MMDDYY:
Both additions have the same effect. The date output has a two-digit year value and no separator. The order is taken from the definition for date output in the user master record.
    YYMMDD:
This addition provides a date output with a two-digit year value without a separator in the format YYMMDD.
    Regards.

  • ALE, use bd79 (converting data from sender to receiver to blank out fields)

Hi, I am trying to blank four fields out in our FI IDOC for a certain business reason.  These fields must be blank (it is the FIDCC1 message type).   I am trying to use transaction bd79 (converting data from sender to receiver) maintain rules.  Is there a way to blank out these fields using a conversion rule?  I can change data fine but I cannot find a way to blank or null a field out.  Thanks in advance.

You should have a look at the inbound function module (linked to your inbound process code). sometimes there are checks that if fields are initial that nothing will be changed.

  • I need to import data from a CSV file to an Oracle table

I need to import data from a CSV file to an Oracle table. I'd prefer to use either SQL Developer or SQL Plus code.
As an example, my target database is HH910TS2, server is ADDb0001, my dB login is em/em, the Oracle table is AE1 and the CSV file is AECSV.
    Any ideas / help ?

And just for clarity, it's good to get your head around some basic concepts...

I need to import data from a CSV file to an Oracle table. I'd prefer to use either SQL Developer or SQL Plus code.SQL Developer is a GUI front end that submits code to the database and displays the results. It does not have any code of it's own (although it may have some "commands" that are SQL Developer specific)
SQL*Plus is another front end (character based rather than GUI) that submits code to the database and displays the results. It also does not have code of it's own although there are SQL*Plus commands for use only in the SQL*Plus environment.
The "code" that you are referring to is either SQL or PL/SQL, so you shouldn't limit yourself to thinking it has to be for SQL Developer or SQL*Plus. There are many front end tools that can all deal with the same SQL and/or PL/SQL code. Focus on the SQL and/or PL/SQL side of your coding and don't concern yourself with limitations of what tool you are using. We often see people on here who don't recognise these differences and then ask why their code isn't working when they've put SQL*Plus commands inside their PL/SQL code. ;)

  • How to import data from excel or csv files to Oracle table

    hello everybody,
I am new here and new in Oracle. I would like to know the steps how to import data from excel or csv files to Oracle table.
Let say I already have table inside the Oracle. Then my user give me the sets of data inside the Excel Worksheet.
So, how can I import the excel data into Oracle table.
    Thank you in advance.
    cheers,
    shima

Even easier. Download JDeveloper 11G from this site.
Set up the database connection, right click on the table, select Import->Excel and specify your file to load it. On the import pop-up, you must view and update each tab indicating Columns, Data Types, and DML.
Columns -- move the selected columns that you want to load to the box on the right
Data Types -- select column name from second column to which the data for each column of the import file should load
DML -- click this tab to generate the INSERT SQL
    Once done click 'Insert'

  • I need to BI Publisher to load the data from Disc worksheet into RTF

Can anyone help how to link the RTF and Data Source[Discoverer Worksheet] in BI Publisher.

    Hi Rani,
You can also use the ALE IDOC method to load data from legacy to CRM system if you have some middlware tool(E.g. XI) in between. We have implemented this in our project where we were getting flat files from legacy, XI was converting the same into IDOC and the IDOC was sent to CRM where we read the IDOC data, populate the standard BAPI's or function modules to create the data in CRM.
You need to define an IDOC TYPE similar to the data structure on the legacy system. Maintain the ALE settings. Write the function module to validate and create data in the CRM system.
E.G. To create business partner SAP has provided BAPI_BUPA_CREATE_FROM_DATA bapi.
