Converting DNG to Tif and exporting from bridge

I do focus stacking for micro photography and the software I use works with jpg's or tif's only. The way I do it now is to import the raw files in Bridge converting to DNG as I do then go to Lightroom and select all the DNG files and export as tif's. Lightroom does this well but were the files end up on my hard drive is something of a crap shoot at times. I would like to this inside bridge. I've used the so called help file but it seems to have no useful information on the subject or gives me answers for almost every program that Adobe makes. So the question is can I do this in Bridge or not? This is just about the only reason I keep Lightroom around.
Thanks John Passaneau

Glad it worked!

  • Problem with Exporting from Bridge CS5 to Social Media sites

    Hi Adobe users,
I'm a new French user of CS5 Bridge. My question is :
Is it possible for me to export pictures from Bridge to Social Media Sites like Facebook & Flickr ?
This topic (http://www.tipsquirrel.com/exporting-from-bridge-cs5-to-social-media-sites/) introduce me to exporting files but I haven't got the modules who were necessary for exporting. After, I do a Check For Update, without results. So I have another question :
What are the steps in order to have the necessary modules ?
    Thanks Julien BARREAU
    Sorry for my bad english.

You can't. The export module (btw gone in Bridge CC) has never worked properly for all social media. The reason they gave was due to rights management in different countries. It only worked in a few countries for Facebook.

  • Can't Drag and Drop from Bridge/Folders anymore. Trashing Preferences didn't work

My Indesign CS4 is acting up.
I can no longer drag and drop from Bridge into my layouts, nor does it work from my PC folders to the layout.
I tried accessing the two  preferences folder on my Vista as suggested here: http://indesignsecrets.com/rebuilding-indesign-preferences.php
That didn't work and I don't think the rebuilt worked because the files didn't recreate itself, I had to bring the copies back in.
Any idea what's going on and what to do?
    Thanks!!!

There are actually two files in the ID prefs set that usually need to be removed together when things act up. See Replace Your Preferences

  • Lightroom and DxO: fix lens flaws in a TIF file exported from LR

    Hi,
I'm in love with LR, I don't mind if people tell me that other Raw converter do a better job in demosaicing. Anyway some time ago a friend told me about DxO Optics Pro, I tried and loved the lens corrections. I thought I could prform those correction at the end of my workflow on a Tiff file exported from LR to DxO. No way! It seems that DxO doesn't recognize the lens used to shoot the image. It seems that LR and Camera Raw delete all the infos related to optics used. Any help would be appreciated.
    Bye!

I used the following command to swap exif data:
    exiftool -all= -tagsfromfile DSC_0002.NEF -exif:all DSC_0009-2.tif
The TIF file contais less exif tags than the NEF (or DNG) file, and there is no tag about the lens used.

  • How do you export you DNG pictures as a batch from Bridge CS6 for web?

I am trying to find the fastest way how to do it from Bridge. Now I make some basic corrections with all pictures in Camera Raw and then save them as... with same lower resolution for the web or preview purposes.
How do you make it? Thx

    With the Image Processor.

  • How to transfer Collections and Favorites from Bridge CS5 to CS6

Have the same problem every upgrade. Having to build up my Collections and Favorites from scratch.  (Keywords can be exported, so these are OK). Are there CS5 files i can copy into CS6? Gratefull for any advice. Tom

Hello! It would be nice to have a migration script in Bridge too...
In the past, there were folders you could copy, but given the database changes, I'm not sure, I need to check first with the team.
On a Mac, it is in the collections folders in ~Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/Bridge CS5/Collections/
    PC(XP): C:Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge CS5\collections
    VIsta/7: user/app data/roaming/Adobe/Bridge CS5/Collections
    Hope this helps

  • InDesign document and metadata from Bridge

I was watching a Bridge videocast that (I thought) showed entering a headline or description of an image in Bridge and the headline/description showed up as a photo caption when the image was dragged into an InDesign document.  I've tried this several times with no success.  Can I really create a photo caption that travels with the image from Bridge metadata to my InDesign document?

Luck - I found this fairly quickly.  It was on adobe TV;  the video is by Rufus Deuchler and here's the link:  http://tv.adobe.com/watch/csinsider-design/adobe-bridge-cs4-/
At about 4 minutes and 30 seconds, he talks about metadata and he says, by filling in headline or description, you can create a caption in InDesign.
It would be truly wonderful if anyone could tell how to do this.

  • LR not getting labels and ratings from Bridge - SOMETIMES?

I'm starting to feel a bit masochistic 'cause I just keep trying to use Lightroom... But, there are enough things that are so much easier to do in Bridge that I still use it for everything but Lightroom's Develop module...
Anyhow, in Lightroom I loaded a directory of images (about 70). In Bridge I examined the same directory of images and rated some with 5 stars, and some of those with GREEN...
Back to LR... None of the changes show up. Looked around LR for something that would tell it to update the images in its library. The only thing I could find was the metadata/XMP/Import XMP thing, and that didn't do anything (is there something else in there that I'm just missing?). Finally, I DELETED the whole directory, and imported the images again. STILL no labels or ratings. I even shut down LR and Bridge and restarted LR to see if that'd help... Then did the metadata/XMP/Import again. Still no change.
Now I KNOW this has worked before, 'cause I've seen the images with the labels and ratings... Any ideas how come it refuses to work on these images?
BTW: If I change a label or rating in LR it shows up immediately in Bridge.

Tried that as part of the "how do I get metadata from Bridge into here" activity... On this set it still didn't bring in the changes... It may just be an aberation but its really bizarre to have different sets of images appear differently... But, since I just got killed by LR and its "Out of Memory" message I'm back to square one again anyhow.

  • Need to differentiate sales from Domestic and export from 1 SLOC

    hi all ,
We hv a business scenario where from one storage location , we are selling domestic and export sales .
But for domestic sales we want to change it from different Sloc and for export we want to keep as it is i mean as before.
But production plant and shipping point are same for both case.
Suppose current sloc is XXXX ---(DOM+EXP) stock selling
We want to restrict only Domestic sell from there ...we want it from YYYY...plan is like after production stock will come to XXXX and from their we will send it to YYYY through stock transfer and go for sale from YYYY only ......so we change the assignment in picking location in ovl3 where plant + shipping point  = Sloc ...assigned ...YYYY and removed XXXX.
But in this case export sale is also affected . we dont want to affect export sales from XXXX.
But in current config change ...it is not happening ....
    pls suggest.
    thnks in adv

You want separate Storage Locations for domestic and export sales.
If you enter storage location at sales order level then it gets copied into delivery (bypassing storage location determination)
So if you have different order types or dist. channels for domestic and exports then you can default the respective storage location (at order item level - for all items in order) based on the order types or dist. ch.  through userexit - USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT.
    Thanks

  • HDV looks jerky, convert to AIC and exported from FCE: more jerky

First of all, I am editing a video that was shot in Japan and captured with FCP, hence the footage has the HDV codec.
When I view the footage in QT, it looks like the frame rate is messed up (the footage looks jerky, and you can see ghost trail type effects when there is a lot of motion.) There is also a wiggly black line, about 1 px wide at the top and bottom of the video the entire time.
Does anyone have any idea why it looks like this? It is a setting in QT? Or do I need to get my eyes checked? At first I thought the footage may have been shot at 25fps but when I look at the info, it says 29.97 like it should be.
I don't own FCP, so I'm editing this footage in FCE. I have converted it all to the AIC codec, and the jerkiness remains the same. The most bizarre thing is that I never noticed this until a few days ago. Do you think it has something to do with the interlacing (Upper fields)?
If necessary I can upload a sample HDV clip.
    Thank you!

Thank you Tom, I've actually uploaded a sample of the problem. You can see both the weird jerkiness and the wiggly black lines. Do you think it could just be the illusion of watching something interlaced on a computer monitor? This is actually my first time working with HD (upper fields.) I appreciate your help A LOT!

  • Rotation of images imported and exported from Aperture

    Hi all,
Recently whilst on Holiday I used my iPad as a storage for the camera via the camera kit. When I got home I synced the iPad with the Mac to get the images into iPhoto, and then imported them into Aperture.
This is where the first problem occurred. A large number of the portrait orientated images came into Aperture upside down ????
So I selected and rotated all the incorrect ones in Aperture then carried on to sort and process them. Mostly removing the "raw, iphoto image" keywords and some cropping and tinting etc.
Then I went to iTunes and did a sync of the photos in Aperture back to the iPad (I had wiped them from the iPad after the import into iPhoto).
Again a large number of the images rotated themselves so that now they are upside down on the iPad.
It would appear that either the import or sync to iPad, or both has got something wrong.
Does anyone have any idea what to do? The images look correct now in Aperture, but are incorrect on the iPad.
    Grrr!

Not easy to explain as i don't understand fully the details of what goes on myself, but the basics. Most cameras sense rotation, but only add a marker to tell the computer how to display the image, Some programmes see this, some don't, so you then rotate in iPhoto, then move to Aperture, and the programme now may see multiple instructions on how to display the image. Yours and the cameras. I have had this kind of problem in the past and it is very frustrating.
The Masters only have one set of information or none on older cameras. If you use the masters to put in to Aperture then do your edits you should not have this problem. If you correct this by exporting and re importing the jpeg you will loose image quality.

  • Exporting from Bridge in CS5

In watching the tutorials and reading in the Bridge helps, it looks like an export module should be set up already in the export panel and we should be able to set up some presets for exports.  But I have no export module already set up and when I try to set one up, nothing happens.  I could use this new feature if it worked.
Any suggestions?  Or is this one of those new features that is shown, but not shipped with this version?
    Sue

Thanks for bailing me out of my "twisting in the wind trying to find a solution" mode. I was expecting to see something this big in the READ ME "Known Issues" section for CS5 as you do with most software releases/update.  Odd that it was enabled in the Beta release used by Lynda.com and Kelby Training trainers so that all of us can discover it.  The Bridge export module was described as one of the most important release features in Bridge in one of the tutorials.

  • Flickering video in timeline and export from premiere

I called tech support, and they said on Friday (07.18.2014) that they would call me back monday, and then never heard back from them.
Anyway, I need to downgrade from Adobe CC2014 Premiere back to the previous version of Premiere, and I have to do it immediately. The upgrade from CC to CC2014 has resulted in flickering video in the timeline and the final render, I can't figure out what it is except to say that it didn't do it before I upgraded.
If anyone can tell me how to get back to a lower, more stable version, I'd appreciate it. I don't want to use a crack, and I am paying for the service - I need this issue to be addressed right away, or to get back to a stable version while I wait for them to make CC 2014 more stable. If my only choice is to use a crack, someone just say so, and when the upgrade becomes more stable, I'll go back to it.

So, I was never actually provided with a fix for this, just a workaround that doesn't really satisfy outside of getting a clean render. They had me change my sequence settings to 25 FPS (???), which I would never have thought to try on my own, since I don't shoot, edit, or output in that setting. That said, if I edit in a sequence that is 25 FPS, but export at the 23.976 that I shoot in, I get a clean render. This clean render, however, has only happened once, and I have no idea if it's going to be consistent. The reason that this works was never made completely clear to me.
That said, I'm sticking with Premiere CC for now, until Adobe can fix the software to work the way it's supposed to. I honestly don't expect this to be fixed, so it may be next year before I update. I also received bad advice from the person running the twitter account (they told me I could "save as" to get a file out of CC 2014 that would work in CC), and I lost about three days of work trying to get a flicker-less render (1.5 days on trying to fix it myself, and another almost 1.5 days total trying to get results out of tech support, who said they would call back on Monday, but never did).
No rant here, those are the facts. Buyer beware on upgrading...make sure to have a backup installer for a previous version if you feel like you want to try upgrading.
Lastly, the link posted by John Smith doesn't work for Premiere, although the link I posted in response to him, does.
