Converting DOS import file to UNIX

We had an HTMLDB install on a now defunct W2K machine. We exported the apps in DOS file format. We are now trying to import the apps into a UNIX HTMLDB install on an HP itanium. We keep getting the same error:
ORA-20001: GET_BLOCK Error. ORA-20001: GET_STMT error. ORA-20001: Execution of the statement was unsuccessful. ORA-06550: line 6, column 3: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "|" when expecting one of the following: := . ( @ % ; ORA-06550: line 18, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "S" ORA-06550: line 22, column 77: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol ";" when expecting one of the following: . ( ) , * @ % & = - + < / > at in is mod not rem <> or != or ~= >= <= <> and
Is this because we are trying to use a DOS file for UNIX import? Can this be fixed or converted to work?

James,
You will not be able to. We always strive to maintain compatability with previous releases, so that you can take a 1.5 application export and import into a 1.6 instance. But you will not be able to take a 1.6 application export and import into a 1.5 instance.

  • Converting dos line endings to unix

    What is the simplest way a Macintosh user can convert a text file with DOS/Windows (CRLF) line endings to Unix/Mac (LF) using only the tools available in a standard OS X distribution?
    In the command-line environment (Terminal), I don't see the old standard, dos2unix. And I don't see an option in TextEdit to specify which. More capable text editors, e.g., TextWrangler, have such an option, but I don't want to require the user to have to download anything more.
    I want to share some Perl scripts I wrote with other Macintosh users. The scripts work on text files with Unix/Mac (LF) line endings, but the users' files on which the scripts operate may have DOS/Windows (CRLF) line endings. I want to tell them how to convert their files without having to install anything more.
    Is that even possible? Seems like it should be.

    Using Automator, one can make a Desktop application that simulates dos2unix.
    The Automator application shown here, will prompt the user to choose one or multiple (using command key) text files, and will then use Perl to process each file in-place, replacing the carriage return-line feed pairs with just a line feed. I tested this on a folder of text files where each file had more than 1 CRLF pair. Afterwards, there were only LF. The last thing this application does is slide out an OS X notification with processing status and number of files affected. I borrowed, and adapted the Perl block from Stack Overflow.

  • FCE to convert at import

    Is there a way/plug-in/... that FCE 4.0 is converting all
    imported files in a specific format, so i do not need to
    render all before being able to see a preview of the
    timeline?

    No, FCE can't do this. I don't know of any plugin for it either that will make it possible. However, you can use the free [MPEG Streamclip|http://www.squared5.com> to convert your files to something FCE likes first quickly and efficiently. Streamclip also has a batch convert function, so if you want it to convert many clips in a row to the same settings you can set it to do that.
    FCE works with DV and Apple Intermediate Codec natively, depending on your footage it would make sense to convert to one of those. Audio should be converted to AIFF.

  • Converting multiple bmp files to PDF using acrobat 7.0 from DOS prompt

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to convert multiple BMP files in a folder to one PDF.
    I can use multiple file conversion option in acrobat to combine and convert them to one PDF .. but I have 2000 such folder to conver to PDF.
    PDF should be name after the folder name.
    Is there a to automate this in acrobat.. or can we run this conversion from DOS prompt using commands.. so that I can create a bat file and have them converted. Pls let me know.
    Thanks
    Pugazh

    I have not tried BMP files, but do JPeg, GIF, TIFF, and PNG files regularly. I simply open Acrobat, then select the graphics files in explorer and drag & drop to Acrobat. I then organize the graphics if needed (using the pages tab) and save to a PDF.

  • How to convert and import MTS files from my Sony NEX 10e into iMovie for editing?

    Hi, dear all,
    I have hard time to bring in my footage shoot using Sony NEX 10e camcorder into iMovie 11 for editing. Is there anyway I can convert these MTS files foe editing in IMovie 11?
    Thanks in advance!!
    Kevin

    Some frame rates and resolution combos will not import into iMovie directly. That's true. For instance, 1920x1080 @ 60 progressive frames per second (meaning not interlaced), that is not compatible with iMovie and you might need to convert it using a program like ClipWrap. Also if you have just the 'bare' .mts files, iMovie will not be able to import those either. iMovie expects to find all the folders and auxiliiary files recorded onto the memory card when you shoot AVCHD video. It needs all those extra pieces to navigate to the video clips and subsequently convert them from .mts to Apple Intermediate Codec. So in the case where you have a 'bare' .mts file use Voltaic HD to do the conversion.

  • Import m4v and Unix files

    A client has given me two types of files to edit with in Final Cut v.7 the first is an old promo in m4v format and the second is raw footage in Unix Executable File. I am unfamiliar with both. Do I need to convert these files to something FC can use. If so, HOW? please be detailed.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    The m4v can be converted using Compressor. The Unix file is more of a problem. See if you can fnd something that opens it. Try the QT player first. If not you'll need to get it in a proper video format.
    Can't tell you what to convert it to without knowing complete and exact specifications of the media.

    Why does aperture convert my raw files to jpegs when I import them from iPhoto?

    It doesn't.
    When you import  Raw to iPhoto the app makes a jpeg preview of the Raw automatically. When you import from iPhoto then Aperture brings over both versions.

    Drive letters are user specific. When you run jboss it runs as you, with your shared drives. When you run it as a service, it runs as guest or another user so your drive letters are meaningless.
    Either setup the user or use UNC

  • After I connected my hard disk to a friend's windows system all my files have been converted to .ink files and do not open....what do i do? They had important content

    after connecting my hard disk to a windows laptop all my files have somehow converted to .ink files and are not accessible.....what do i do?

    What do you mean by "all files", surely only one category of files got their default open program changed.
    Choose the affected files, right click on an individual file, and "open with",...change to default program.
    For a group, right click > show info > open with > change ALL
    If more than one group of files has had its default opening program changed, a time machine roll-back would be the easy option. Do you have a TM backup?

  • Convert FMB to XML File on Unix

    Hello,
    I want to convert a FMB-File to XML in my HP-UX-Middletier-Environment.The Script frm2xml.sh is only shipped with IDS.
    Can someone upload the frmf2xml.sh from a linux or Solaris IDS-Enviroment?
    Robert

    So if we were to keep text-based source files, the process would have to be:
    - check-out to local working copy
      - convert XML to FMB
        - make changes using Forms Developer
      - convert FMB to XML
    - commit to svn
    I'm concerned about the side-effects of the conversion process (edge-cases, incompatibilities), and I also expect that even with some automation, the above will be a pretty slow process that will slow the team down. I guess we'll probably stick with fmb.
    I guess as a compromise, it may be worthwhile generating the xml or fmt alongside the fmb and committing both. At least we'd then have a text-based file to compare revisions with. So the process then becomes:
    - check-out to local working copy
      - make changes using Forms Developer
      - generate XML from FMB
    - commit both to svn
    I'm still baffled as to why Oracle has chosen a binary source format, even 15 years ago. This basically precludes a vast number of tools and techniques that are essential to the software craft :(

  • Is there an easy way to convert and import MTS files from a external hardrive so that I can edit them in FCP?

    I am trying to convert game footage that is in MTS format to something that I can edit into a quick highlights video. I have final cut express and the standard IMovie '09. looking for easiest solution, everything seems to involve using one application to convert to Quicktime and then dropping file into Iphoto etc. is there an easy way?

    I'm not completely sure that MPEG Streamclip can convert AVCHD footage (.mts files).  If MPEG Streamclip doesn't do the job, then get a copy of Clipwrap, which was designed for transcoding .mts files to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec (that's the format/codec you need to convert the .mts files to for use in FCE).

  • Run a MS DOS batch file from the client

    Hi,
    I created a java source to run a bat file, the folder is loacted in the Database server.
    (Not in application server)
    create or replace and compile java source named execcommand as
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class ExecCommand{
    public static void run(String cmdstr) throws IOException, InterruptedException
    try {
    int rtn;
    cmdstr = "cmd /c " + cmdstr;
    Process prcs = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmdstr);
    while (prcs.getInputStream().read() != -1 ) {}
    catch (IOException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    I called the java source from the procedure
    create or replace procedure run_batfile is
    begin
    execcommand(cmdtext => 'e:\services\genPDF.bat');
    dbms_output.put_line('file created successfully');
    exception
    when others then
    dbms_output.put_line(sqlcode || sqlerrm);
    end run_batfile;
    But the bat is not executing (The bat file is to generate a PDF file ). Bu when i executing this from my PC (Client PC) directly on the RUN , its generating the PDF file in the server.
    What could be the problem, What should be the path in the procedure,
    Shall i create any virtual directory ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rizly

    Hi Justin ,
    Sorry for the late replay.
    I am running Oracle on Windows.
    The MS DOS Batch file is to convert XML file to PDF format. It is a Java Application.
    also it is a batch process, thats why i created a batch file for that. I am using FOP to convert XML to PDF.
    FOP is in the e:\services folder of the Database Server machiene. XML file is also in the same forlder and I need to generate the PDF file also in the same machiene.
    <<- You have a client machine. What do you mean by "executing this from my PC (Client PC) directly on the RUN , its generating the PDF file in the server.">>
    I have mapped the e:\services folder in my client machience, so i am accessible to the genPDF.bat file that is in the 'e:\services' folder of the DB Server. When i run the bat file from my PC as Start > Run e:\services\genPDF.bat . The PDF file has generated in the DB Server machien.
    I dont have the copy of the batch file in client machiene, but i have mapped to my client machiene.
    Thanks again,
    Rizly

  • How to convert a class file to exe file and how to cteate a class file to d

    how to convert a class file to exe file

    Hi Bhaskarq,
    Hi,
    It is not at all possible.
    But it is a really worst method.
    Please go through it.
    This is a very common question asked in the comp.lang.java newsgroup. Its often useful to have an
    executable application when deploying your
    applications to a specific platform, but remember to
    make your .class files available for users running
    Unix/Macintosh/other platforms.
    Microsoft provide a free system development kit (SDK),
    for Java, which includes the jexegen tool. This
    will convert class files into a .EXE form. The only
    disadvantage is that users need a Microsoft Java
    Virtual Machine (JVM) installed. If your target
    platform is Win32, you can either redistribute the
    virtual
    machine, or raise the level of your system
    requirements, to include Windows 98, or Windows 95
    with
    Internet Explorer 4. Systems matching these
    requirements will already have a copy of the Microsoft
    Java Virtual Machine installed.
    Note : You must specify all of the class files your
    application needs (except for standard java packges)
    as a parameter, so if you have third party libraries,
    you'll need to include them as well. You can use wildcards * though, and you don't need the original source code.
    Also please see this Forum which will give a good idea
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=31&thread=149733
    I hope this will help you.
