I need the images to be in Jpeg format so i can use them in premiere pro to create an animation. When i take a still from a movie, it saves it as a seperate movie labelled still.DV
Is there any way of converting the .DV file to a Jpeg?

  • Converting to still image

Please excuse me everyone if this is not the right forum for this
question. But since I always get reliable advice, I thought I'd give you guys a try. I'm trying to convert a frame from one of my films to a still, a jpeg.
Is there a process to make it the best possible quality? I suppose I could use the QT conversion drop-down menu and convert to JPG still image. I just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on this. Oh, and the fotage is DV NTSC.
    Thanks so much,
    D

    Hi,
I also found a list with different apps that you can use to capture the video frame rather than just using Quicktime. It doesn't hurt giving a try:

    Hope this information helps,

  • Converting .psd & RAW images to jpeg

In the past I have converted to jpeg by using Tools>Photoshop>Image Processor.  Suddenly this no longer works.  I simply get a blank screen.  Some suggestions have been to reset the Tools Preferences but I have no idea how to reset an individual Tools Preference.  (I don't like using Scripts to convert because it is too time consuming to open all the images and then convert.)  I would appreciate any/all help.  Thanks...

Meaning, yes, you will have to re-set your preference settings all over again, from scratch.
    No big deal.

  • On my Mac10.8.2 using PSE9 and can't convert multiple RAW images to Jpeg

I am using PSE9 and just put it on our new Mac 10.8.2 from windows 7. It runs fine but things aren't quite the same. On windows if I wanted to covnert a RAW file to jpg and was in the organiser I just clicked on file, save, and selected jpg and could choose mulitple photos easily. On the mac when I am in the organiser and click on file there is no save  button....is it hiding. I can do them one at a time when I'm in edit but that is a very long way about doing it. Is there an easy way to select lots of photos in the organizer and convert them to jpg from RAW? Thanks.

    If you aren't using organizer, just command click to select them in the File>Open window;
    Then you should see this:

  • Error when trying to save still image from video with Quicktime Pro

I just purchased Quicktime Pro so that I can use it with my new Nano (the one that shoots video). I want to grab a frame from the video and create a still image (in jpeg format). I should be able to do it, but when I try, I get an error 11005 (or something like that). Anyone know any way to fix this? Thanks!

I also tried the alt/ctrl/shift buttons when clicking Editor in the Photoshop welcome screen. It did ask if I wanted to reset the preferences. I chose yes. I still get the same error message when trying to save for web.
Below....showing I don't have a "save for web" folder on my C drive.
And below, showing the same error after pressing alt/shift/ctrl when clicking on editor and clearing the preferences.
I don't have a 'Save for Web' folder anywhere on my C: drive. I searched and came up with no folder with the text "save for web" in it.
I did find a "save for web" folder on my D: drive and deleted that.. but now when I start up Photoshop, the option for Save for Web is grayed out...not able to select it.

  • Change Raw image to jpeg

can I change a RAW image to a JPEG.

You can convert a RAW image to jpeg with the Canon software DPP. I believe there is a tutorial on Canon's site regarding the software.

Why is it so difficult to convert a Raw image to a jpeg in Photoshop Elements ?! I have version 12. Once i realized to change the tick box in Camera Raw to 8 bit instead of 16 bit and Flatten image ( sometimes can flatten image if the flatten option isn't greyed out) hey presto i thought i was up and running. However after saving the photograph as a jpeg and renaming it e, after the word edit. I switched off/on my computer only for all the images i had spent time working on to have disappeared. Feeling very upset as there is no Technical Help to telephone at adobe and i don't know what to do.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • I am unable to import Raw still images from a Nikon D 80 into Premiere Pro cs 4. All jpeg images ok

I am unable to Import RAW still Images from a Nikon D 80 camera into
Premiere Pro. All jpeg images import Ok. A web search suggests I need "plug-ins" for RAW, but I can not find  same. Any suggestions as to how to inport RAW files to PP CS 4 would be appreciated. I have just updated from Premiere Elements 4 which had no problem importing RAW still images.

The way I see it (correct me if I'm wrong) but Raw is supposed to be where you have total editing control of the shot (as opposed to the camera). I believe the next step is to do the editing (i.e. color balance, exposure, etc) then make a regular image from that to use in whatever output you desire (print, web, etc.) Think of raw as the negative. Just being in raw doesn't in it self make it better.
Edit. This is from premiere help files....
Supported still‑image and sequence file formats
Adobe Premiere Pro supports 8-bit per-channel (4 bytes per pixel) and 16-bit per-channel (8 bytes per pixel) still-image files. It converts images with lower bit-depths to 8-bits per channel and images with higher bit-depths to 16-bits per channel on import. High bit-depth files are supported at one single-precision float per channel (16-bytes per pixel).
AI, EPS (Adobe Illustrator and Illustrator sequence)
BMP, DIB, RLE (Bitmap and Bitmap sequence)
    EPS
    GIF
    ICO (Icon File) (Windows only)
JPEG and JPEG sequence (JPE, JPG, JFIF)
PICT and PICT sequence (PIC, PCT)
    PNG (Portable Network Graphics)
PSD (Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop sequence)
    PSQ (Adobe Premiere 6 Storyboard)
    PTL, PRTL (Adobe Premiere title)
TGA, ICB, VDA, VST (Targa and Targa sequence)
    TIF (TIFF and TIFF sequence)

  • JPEG convert creates corrupted images?

I have searched but not seen other discussion on this, if it has been discussed before I apologize, but would appreciate links.
I'm working on putting together a website right now, and have to convert a lot of images. Mostly just scaling, but some need converting to jpg as well.
I created an Automator application that is simply:
    1. Get selected Finder Items
    2. Scale
    3. Convert to jpeg
The images output from this, then uploaded to the website look fine in Safari, but no other browser will load them. Firefox on Mac & Windows just shows the alt text, and when one uses the developer extension it shows a wrong file size the the image downloaded along with a broken image icon. IE just shows broken image icons.
I saw some discussion on the fact that Preview does not really handle the Automator actions, that Image Handler does. I even tried using Michael Henley's Apple Script solution for dealing with some image converting problems. The output jpegs still did not work.
Neither jpeg, nor jpeg2000 seem to work. Any ideas?
      Mac OS X (10.4)

    Hello Ric,
The source code seems to be fine, other images that did not require this conversion all appear without problem, as do images converted by hand. We have several hundred items to deal with though, so Automator would be a god send.
    Here are two links:
    http://www.achonawear.com/index.php?mainpage=product_info&cPath=16&productsid=21
This one was created by my associate, who used the Automator app I created and emailed to him. He also has Tiger (obviously) though I'm not sure which version. He also has a G4, albeit a MDD 867.
    http://www.achonawear.com/index.php?mainpage=product_info&cPath=7&productsid=19
This in one of the items I put in.
For an alternate example here is one I put in without the use of Automator:
    http://www.achonawear.com/index.php?mainpage=product_info&cPath=2&productsid=6
On both systems Safari displays the images without fail. Firefox does not display them at all. If you try to load the image only you get an error message: The image “http://www.achonawear.com/images/large/DP145WM1%20copy.1.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.
To preempt some questions, most of my image names do not contain a space. That one image does as it is the one I have been experimenting with and hence started out by doing a duplicate in the Finder. The space isn't the problem.
All the images are being uploaded via the admin interface for Zen Cart.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • How do I convert an flv file to still images?

This may sound stupid, but I have a downloaded flv file, and I want to use about
8 seconds  to make still images so I can trace into Illustrator and then export it into Flash. (both are older versions).
    Is this possible?
It is for an animinated logo.
    Thanx.

Everybody's wrong wrong wrong. You don't need garageband. Select the song, go to info. You need to select a start and stop time for the song that can't be any longer than 40 seconds in length. Then in advanced mode you convert the song to acc. once done locate the file on the computer. it should end in .m4a . Change the a to an r so it reads .m4r Drag the file to the desktop, double click and it ends up in ringtones folder.

Skewed? Left or right? Could you post a screenshot? What format is your timeline? What is the frame size of the JPEG?

  • Converting 180 imported images in AE CC to image sequences that reside in same folder as stills.

I have 180 imported stills in a composition. I have corresponding image sequences that I want to convert each still to. The stills are named "x-00001.jpg", and the other parts of the image sequence are in the same directory. How do I get AE CC to make the leap to find the rest of each image sequence aside from manually using "Replace Footage" with each image to check the image sequence box?

Your workflow is flawed when you put your placeholder images and your image sequences in the same folder. Each image sequence should be in a separate folder and should be imported as an image sequence. The frame rate of the imported image sequences is set in Preferences before an image sequence is imported or changed with File>Interpret Footage.
If your placeholder is a still image and you have an image sequence in a different folder you can use the Replace Footage command and it will bring replace a still with an image sequence if you make sure to check the image sequence button before you press Open.
You can also convert your image sequences to Movies using QuickTime and easily wrap them in a .mov container. This eliminates the necessity of checking the image sequence box when replacing footage.
Writing a script to do this would require that you either pause the script to choose the folder with the image sequence or that you script every folder and the placeholder so it would be easier just to go through the composition and replace footage.

  • Cannot import still image: jpeg/tiff/png/gif/ai/psd

    Hello all:
I'm running into a strange error. No matter what size image I try, I cannot seem to import a still image into Adoe Premiere Pro cs4 running on Mac OSX 10.6.2
The error I receive is a "File Import Error: File Video Dimensions width/height too large."
I've tried the following to isolate why Premiere is returning this error:
    - importing images at different sizes: 100x200, 1000x2000 etc
    - saving the image as different file formats: jpeg, tiff, gif, png etc
    - importing it as an illustrator file
    - importing it as a Photoshop file
None of that worked. I'm at my wit's end and I can't seem to find anybody that has experienced this error before.

Here are some threads to check:

  • Converting raw images to jpegs using PSE 11

I have started to capture only RAW images from my Sony NEX 7 camera. However, I wish to be able to send JPEG images to my friends ( prior to RAW editing ). How do I convert/copy my RAW images to JPEGs using PSE 11?
    Thanks
    Derek

After you're done in camera raw (or in your case, without doing anything, but you'll just get the default conversion, because you MUST convert the files), click the Open button, then save in the format of your choice in the editor. JPEG is an 8 bit format so you will want to either set the raw converter's pulldown menu to 8 bits or you will need to go to Image>Mode> 8 bits/channel in the editor. If you're emailing, you can also use Save for Web to size them down if necesary.
If you use the organizer, you can just use file>export as new files and be sure to send the jpgs someplace easy to find.

  • Converting an entire folder structure with images to jpeg, intact with folder structure.

    Hi!
I have a rather large folder structure consisting of images dating all the way back to when I got my first digital camera in '98.
The images are captured with a variety of cameras over the years and also includes image types processed with software. It's an almost 1,5 terabytes holy mixture of CR2, ARW, JPEG, PSD, PSB, TIFF, HDR and probably more that i forgot. However all of the formats can be read by photoshop/bridge. The file structure is /YYYYMMDD/file.ext. Converting the files folder by folder using the standard Image processor feature in bridge/photoshop is not really an option, considering the size of the structure.
What I am trying to do is to convert the entire structure to .jpeg, both for backup purposes and also for being able to view all the images on devices other than my computer. It's important that the raw files are converted with their respecive .xmp adjustments applied.
Is there any possible way to achieve this? I don't have lightroom, but if it can do this I will purchase it. Maybe some other image managment applications, like ACDSee, can do this?
If someone know of any applications or (photoshop) scripts that can do this, or have any tips for me it is *HIGHLY* appreciated!

    Paul Riggott: T-H-A-N-K-S!
The Russell Brown script is exactly what I needed, couldnt ask for anything better. I tried it out for a test run on a folder with 10 subfolders containing various file types and it recreated the folder structure complete with jpegs on another disk. The script have lots of useful options for converting, naming, color space conversion and much more.
The one small thing to take note of, if others are reading this, is that you have to open the script in Photoshop in order to to process entire folder structures (including subfolders). If you launch the script from Bridge, it will only let you process single files and not folders.
Again, you really made my day with this tip. Thanks
