Converting DVD in itunes

I used Cucusoft DVD to ipod converter and was able to get 5 TV episodes into itunes. One will load on my ipod but I get the following message when the next one tries to load. "Attempting to copy to the disk "my name" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to". FYI, all the episodes will play in itunes.

  • DVD to itunes converter

Has anyone used this program? I am trying to get my DVDs onto itunes. I tried using handbrake, but to no avail. Then I saw I should be running DVD43 in the background, but for the life of me I can't get it to work, so now I'm resorting to programs for purchase. Are there any benefits to these programs relative to doing it for free? Has anyone used this particular one or can recommend others?

Sadly, discussions of software or methods of converting commercial DVDs are not permitted in the forum (because it's illegal to break the encryption on the DVDs in the U.S.). Sorry.

Thanks! But when I visit the site recently, I found the program was upgraded. Now it has 2 optimized output formats specially made for iPod 30G and 60G players! Thus it is easier and more convenient to use without complex settings as other software. Try it at http://www.imtoo.com/downloads/dvd-to-ipod.converter.exe
Another good news: there was a new discount suite ImTOO DVD to iPod Suitethat contains both the DVD to iPod Converter and iPod Movie Converter. It saves newly $20! Hope this can do some help

How I download a Tv series from DVD to itunes?

Handbrake see http://handbrake.fr/ can convert such files to iTunes compatible format. However Handbrake by itself does not copy from protected commercial DVDs as doing so is illegal in many (but not all) countries.
For dealing with DVD protection you are on your own as it is not allowed to be discussed here.

Unfortunately discussing this subject is not permitted on Apple's forums as the recently updated Apple Discussions User Agreement now clearly states.
Under item 2, para 8.2 it says "Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store."

  • How to rip DVD to iTunes for AppleTV?

    Hi all,
I am new to the mac world and interested in how best to rip a DVD to iTunes for use in AppleTV?  Using 2010 Mac Mini.  Thanks!

I use "Mac DVD Ripper Pro" to rip the DVD to my iMac (not free but works well), then use handbrake to convert to a iTunes friendly format (just use the AppleTv 2 preset).
I do it this way so i can rip several, and then load all of them into the  handbrake queue and let it process them over night.
Then i use iDentity to add the metadata to the file and add to iTunes.

    Movie DVD?
Unless you have some (illegal) ripping software to convert it to a playable format, iTunes doesn't play DVDs.

  • Converting dvds - third party software?

Where can I find software (either free or not) that will convert dvd (non-commercial) into a recognizable format for Itunes, imovie and general mac computing?

MPEG Streamclip is a good one. You can downoad that for free at www.squared5.com. In addition, to get it to do what you want, you will probably need to download MPEG-2 from Apple, at a cost of $20 (as I recall). Here is what I posted: Is Mpeg2 the answer?
I was asking the same thing you are asking. Search for my question, follow the answers I received from Appleman, and you should be all set.

  • Can you watch a DVD on iTunes?

Can you watch a DVD on iTunes then sync it to your iPod? The iTunes website says you can do this and then use the advance \ convert but I can't figure out how to make it work.

Is this a Commercial DVD movie that you are talking about? If so the answer is no, you have to use conversion software to rip and convert the content to a format that the iPod supports.

  • Can you watch DVDs in iTunes?

This might sound like a stupid question but can you play DVDs in iTunes because I then want to download it onto my iPod. Please help

Sorry but no, iTunes cannot play video DVDs. There are, however, third-party applications that can convert DVDs to iPod-compatible formats. Do a web search for "iPod DVD" and you'll find a number of options.

If you are asking about purchased DVD's - this is ilegal and cannot be discussed here.

  • Importing a DVD onto iTunes

does anyone know how to import a movie that I currently own on DVD onto iTunes?

I don't have much problems with HandBrake. Some recent DVDs are giving more errors and won't be converted. Older ones can be converted to iPod size without any problem.
Once they are playable with QuickTime, they can be added to iTunes without any problem.
I guess copy protection schemes are interfering with the conversion.
I'm not knowledgeable about these techniques to give an accurate explanation.
I always try to convert a movie trailer (often present on the DVD) first.
If that's flawless, I try to convert the movie.
You might try another ripping application (search on versiontracker.com for "DVD ripper") or get help in the HandBrake forum.

  • Como copio un dvd a itunes

como copio un dvd a itunes
how copy un dvd to itunes

Sorry, but if you're referring to commercial and hence copy-protected video DVDs, breaking the copy protection, which would be necessary to copy the videos from the DVD and convert them, is illegal in the US (and other countries), so we're not allowed to discuss it here.   Some DVDs and Blu-Ray movies come with a "digital copy" that allows you to download a copy of the movie for use on computers and portable devices. You might see if any of the DVDs you have come with such a feature. If you're in the US, Walmart/Vudu also has a service that basicially gives you a digital copy of a DVD you already own. See:
    http://www.vudu.com/disc_to_digital.html
There may be similar services in other countries.
If these are home movies that you or someone has burned to DVD and hence are not copy-protected, Handbrake (freeware) is one of the more popular converters. Once converted, you just drag the movie into the iTunes window on your computer and you can then sync it to your iPad.
    Regards.
