Converting file format in Premier Pro

I am using Premier Pro CS5.5. I want to know if I can import a .mts file and use Premier to convert it, or save the file as, a .mov, .wmv, .mp4 or other video file format?

Actually to clarify, I am not very familiar with Premier Pro CS5.5; it is just one application that is part of our enterprise load that I thought might allow me to perform the this type of file conversion. So I really just need to know if file conversion from .mts to another format is a capability the Premier pro has.

  • Convert file format into UTF-8 while generating text file on FTP server

    Hi Expert,
    I have the requirement to generate text file store it in FTP server and file format should be in UTF-8.
    ABAP Development is completed but text file format generate in ANSI which not acceptable by client.For generating text file and store it on FTP server by using standard function module FTP_R3_TO_SERVER ,but in this function module there is no any parameter option like CODEPAGE for file format conversion. Is there any method or any function module to convert file format to UTF-8 and directly transfer or store it on FTP server.

    I have come across the same issue.  Try calling the FTP_COMMAND function module to make it go into ASCII mode before your FTP the file, like this:
    data: result type table of text with header line.
    call function 'FTP_COMMAND'
        exporting
          handle        = hdl
          command       = 'ascii'
        tables
          data          = result
        exceptions
          tcpip_error   = 1
          command_error = 2
          data_error    = 3.
      call function 'FTP_R3_TO_SERVER'
        exporting
          handle         = hdl
          fname          = docid
          character_mode = 'X'
        tables
          text           = gt_your_table .

  • How can I make my AVCHD mov. files work in premier pro?

    I used Panasonic HDC-SD60 for a short film for work.  This has over about 40 clips with around 3 hours of footage However when I import the .mov files from the media browser the audio seems fine but the footage is in a sort of slow mo, and out of sync. I want to edit and do post-production using adobe premier pro, and after effects. However the footage seems to be working in final cut X. There is no lag with playback on quicktime either. What's making this happen? I've read about variable frame rates, it's seems most common in iPhones and tablets? Is that something that the panasonic do as well? Is there a fix? Or should I jump ship and make do with a slightly more limited features of Final Cut?

    That does not specifically say Variable FRAME Rate, so I don't know a cure... but, see below

  • Missing Files after updating Premier Pro

    I updated Premier Pro CC on my new imac last night. I opened a project that I was working on yesterday before the update and  some footage in the Timeline has been replaced by different (incorrect files, not what i placed there yesterday, before the update.)
    I have opened 3 other projects and a similar thing has happened in all others.
    My projects are on an external hard drive, so I have plugged this ext drive back into my old imac, (that doesn't have an updated version of Prem Pro CC) and the project worked perfectly.
    please help me, I have about 20 projects that I am working on and the thought of rebuilding all these to work on my new imac would be nightmare.

    The only workaround I have found is to disable the NVIDIA graphic card and GPU. Once I did that Premier Pro CC came up without any errors and has been performing since. However, it's a workaround. Unfortunately, the core problem still exists and that is the graphic card and the drivers somehow conflicting with the Creative Suite.
    This came out of nowhere for us. We had been using two identical workstations, Dell 6430's, and no updates have been applied recently or new software. They both went down at the same time when Premier Pro CC arbitrarily just stopped working. It had been working fine up until that point for over a year. Everything else in the Creative Cloud runs fine on them.

  • Unexpected File Format in Flash Pro 8

    Hi, I have downloaded the trial version of Flash Professional 8 for a homework assignment and when I try to open the file that the professor gave us I get  an error that states "Unexpected File Format"  I have tried almost everything to fix the file but nothing is working.  I do not know what version of Flash the file was originally saved in.  Can anyone help?

    if that file was saved for a newer version, there's nothing you can do other than ask your prof or someone else to save it down for you or download a newer flash pro version that can open your fla.
    p.s. flash pro 8 is very old.  we're on flash pro 14  now.

  • Importing Raw and Jpeg file formats to Mac Pro

    Since migrating to Photos from iPhotos when importing photos only Jpegs seem to get imported, not Raw files when shot in both formats on my NikonD5300. Does anyone know how i can import the two file formats simultaneously? (I have double checked the settings on my camera!)
    Thanks Louise

    Photos will import both the RAW and the JPEG, but stack them and use only one of them as the original file.
    You will see badge overlays "J" or "R", indicating if the RAW or the JPEG is currently uses as the original file to render edits.
    Open the photo in "EDIT" mode, then you will be able to switch to the "RAW" version as the original file, in the "Image" menu.  The options "Use RAW as original" or "Use JPEG as original" are only available in Edit mode, also "Reprocess RAW"

  • Mpeg-4 video v3 file problem in premier pro

    I am trying to import an AVI file in Premiere Pro. The video is imported without any warning but when played in the editor, it is dark and plays in a thin horizental strip, instead of full size. I have imported many AVI files in the past containg without trouble but the absence of this specific CODEC is causing problem in importing correctly.
    The CODEC used in the video is "ms mpeg-4 video v3 (DIV3)".
    The file is played correctly in VLC Player and DivX Player but not in Premiere Pro. So how can I download and install this CODEC. Can you guide me to some reliable source?

    Xvid/Divx are output files, not meant to be edited (variations of the MPEG4 codec, often used for Internet streaming video) so, they mostly do NOT edit well (if at all) in any flavor of Premiere, even if wrapped inside an AVI container
    To edit a divx/xvid file, or convert to a format that will edit in Premiere

  • MuVo Convert file format er

    i just got the muvo mp3 player and when i try to convert my mp3 files to a smaller bitrate wma file it gives me an error when i click on the destonation format..also when i use smartfit and i try to change it they error plz help!!

    ryanC,
    When you use the Audio Converter application, what is the exact WMA setting you have selected for conversion?
    MP3 is only a 2 channel source. If you have selected WMA Pro/Lossless, you can only choose those setting with 2 channel and not 5. channel for conversion.

  • How do I convert file formats?

    I am trying to process HD video files from a Panasonic camera. They are coming onto my Macbook pro as CPI extension files and cannot be recognized by iphoto, imovie or Final Cut Express. Is there a way to convert video files to something useable?

    tayoungs wrote:

    a CPI is absolute no use, it contains zil video ...
    the clip-info.cpi is part of an AVCHD structure.
    to import successfully into FC/e, you need the 'whole thing', BDMV, CPI, BDM, PLAYLIST, MP, PLAYLIST and most of all .mts, which IS the actual 'video' in some sort of wrapper.
    an intact AVCHD-folder as from Cam or on the SDcard doesn't need manual conversion, will be automatically imported in the Log&Transfer dialog.-

  • Unsupported file formats for Adobe Pro 8

    I am trying to convert a group of files ranging from .xsl to .doc types.  Adobe is saying these are not supported.  I see .dwg, .txt, .jpeg, etc. but no .doc or .xls format.  I know adobe should support these document types as I have seen it on other computers.  Is there a way to update the supported document types?
    I am going into the folder with the desired folders and want to click on "combine files to single pdf" but this option is not there.  This should be possible as I have seen it on coworkers computers today.  I have word 2003 and am able to convert .doc and .xls files through the respective programs, but if I have a large number of files this way is tedious. The main point is that .doc files and .xls files are not supported by adobe in this case when I know they should be.
    Running windows.

    Can you use PDF Maker to create the files from these applications. The option you are requesting uses PDF Maker in each of the applications as I understand it and if PDF Maker does not work, converting the files from Acrobat will not work. At least this is what I would be checking.
    As an alternative, you can probably drag all of the documents to the Adobe PDF printer to create the PDF files.

  • Why won't an FLV file created by Premier Pro open and Play?

    As the title states...I exported a sequence as a flv file and my computer won't play it... It is strange that the amount of Gigabytes used by Adobe ( I have the Master Version) won't open an FLV it created. Yes,
    I have Quicktime installed BTW. Is there something I need to turn on? Or do I need 'yet-another' download to make an .FLV play?

    @JtSmith- BTW I put this ? in this area because I created the File in PremPro.. So I wondered why it would not play it back. However your idea of parking the file so a stand alone /embedded player made me think to try and open it with a Browser. Which indeed my .f4v file did open that PremPro created. Yet the FLV file would not open. IT seems FB (Flash Builder) has taken proprietary rights over it...
    @JSimon- I could not find the VLC Player you mentioned, if you can tell me where I can find that or which or what program that is in...?
    Anyhow FWIW, Prem Pro did a great job on creating a Lossless FLV file from a file that was 330mb to 11mb and still looks pretty good for web use. BTW.. Hence the Prem Pro post. After all we web users would like the smallest, cleanest file we can produce from our PremPro exports. Right? Thanks for the idea JT and J Simon if you get a chance to let me know if that VLC player came with my suite or must I download the Open Source VLC player..The one that turns every icon into an 'orange construction cones'
    Thanks

  • Converting file formats

    does anyone know a program that allows you to convert .ogg to mp3 for macintosh and of they have a link to a free trial for one, can they please post it in a response or at least supply the name of the program?
    thanks so much
    -Steven

    There is an app called Music Man which (I think) can convert the ogg format to mp3. It's shareware not freeware. But if you want to check it out go to versiontracker.com and check it out.

  • How to convert file format using bfile datatype

    <pre>
    Hi all,
    Assume, i has a table BFILE_IMAGE and it table structure is similar like:
    SQL> desc bfile_image;
    Name Null? Type
    IMAGE_ID NUMBER
    FILE_NAME VARCHAR2(30)
    IMAGE BINARY FILE LOB
    SQL>
    Is that impossible if we can use process() function with bfile datatype? similar like:
    ordsys.ordimage.process(image,'fileFormat=JPEG contentFormat=24BITRGB');
    The line above is work with blob datatype but doesn't with bfile datatype. Can you please give me some idea how to deal with it.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    a BFILE is content stored outside the Oracle database. It is a read-only object.
    process() is an in-place modification of the image. This is only possible with BLOB stored content.
    If you are using BFILE you could use the processCopy() method to create a new copy of the BFILE stored image that has been processed according to your command.
